A month later Alex had been found guilty of the rape of Mackenzie. His sentencing was tomorrow. Mackenzie and Sam had to fly to Missouri where it was taking place. Due to what some people were saying online, Mackenzie had deleted all of her accounts. She'd taken an extended leave of absence from work.

Mackenzie knew one thing that would make her feel better. That was having a baby. She hadn't told Sam but she'd made an appointment with her gynecologist. She was in her office. The doctor came in.

"What brings you here today?" The doctor asked.

"I want to start a family with my fiancée." "As you know I've had a previous miscarriage." "I just want you to examine me and make sure everything's good."

The next morning Mackenzie and Sam were on the plane. He held her hand.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"I will be when this day is over."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

When Alex was brought into the courthouse Mackenzie's blood ran cold, as it did every time she saw him. Sam still wanted to kill him.

"Alexander Mason, I hereby sentence you to fourteen years in the state penitentiary." The judge said. They took him away.

Mackenzie and Sam flew back to Atlanta that same day.

The next morning they were both at home in the kitchen. Sam was starting to cook breakfast and Mackenzie was standing at the counter.

"Hello?" She said. "Yes." "Are you sure?" "Thank you." She hung up and immediately started to cry. Sam went over to her.

"Baby what's wrong?" He asked.

"I went to the gynecologist the other day." She sniffled. "I wanted to get checked out to see if we could have a baby." "The rape caused damage to my uterus." "I can't conceive."

"Come here." They hugged.

"He took having a baby from us." She said tearfully.

"There's other ways."
