Mackenzie did what she had to do to take the test. She and Britt were waiting on the results in the living room. Britt set a timer on her phone. It had just went off.

"Do you want me to go check it?" Britt asked.

"If you want." "This is a complete waste of time."

Britt went into the bathroom. "Mackenzie come here."

She went into the bathroom. Britt was smiling "What?"

"Look."

Mackenzie looked at the pregnancy test on the sink. She was shocked when she saw it said pregnant. "What?" "It has to be broken."

"I don't think it is."

"This doesn't make any sense."

"I'm really happy for you."

"I'm not getting excited until I make an appointment with my doctor."

"Are you gonna tell Sam?"

"After it's confirmed by the doctor." "If it is."

"I know it will be."

From the airport waiting on her flight Mackenzie called her obstetrician. She had an appointment scheduled for the afternoon. She was glad she was in Nevada and the flight time would be under an hour.

An hour and a half Mackenzie was in an exam room l. She'd given a urine sample. She was in a paper gown. The doctor came in.

"Hi Mackenzie." The doctor said.

"Hi."

"So you took a home pregnancy test that said you're pregnant?"

"Yes." "It has to be faulty."

"It wasn't." "Your urine test came back positive for pregnancy."

"What about the damage to my uterus?"

"I would like to give you a full pelvic exam to check that." "Feet in the stirrups please." She performed the examination. "As far as I can tell, there's no change to the damage of your uterus." "You shouldn't be pregnant." "This is a miracle baby." "Let's see how far along you are." She got the ultrasound machine and turned it on. Exposing Mackenzie's stomach she put the gel on it followed by the wand. It was small but the baby showed up almost instantly. "You're eight weeks pregnant."

Mackenzie's eyes filled with tears and she smiled. "That's my baby?"

"Yes."

"It is ok."

"There's no reason why you shouldn't deliver a healthy baby." "I think I know the answer." "You do intend on keeping it?"

"Absolutely."

"I'm giving you prenatal vitamins."

"Ok."

"Is there a father in the picture?"

"Yes."

"Boyfriend?"

Ex." "He's more of a lover now."

"Are you planning on telling him?" "I'm only asking because it's good for a pregnant woman to have a support system."

"I'm telling him next week." "I want to tell him in person." "Plus I have no way of getting in touch with him." "I'm not even sure of where he lives anymore."

The next Wednesday Mackenzie was at the arena. She'd just left Tony Khan's office after telling him about her pregnancy. She saw Sam in the hall and went up to him.

"We need to talk, it's important." She said.

They went to a quiet part of the arena.

"What's up?" He asked.

"I'm pregnant Sam."

He smiled. "What?"!"Are you sure?"

"Yeah." "I thought it was a mistake at first but my doctor confirmed it."

"I thought you couldn't get pregnant."

"So did I." "My doctor doesn't understand it either." "It's our miracle baby."

"How far along?"

"Nine weeks." She got into her purse. "This is a sonogram." She said handing it to him. "It's a picture of the baby."

"Wow."

"You can keep that."

"Is the baby ok?"

"It's great."

"Can we find out what it is?"

"In the fourth month."

They hugged. "I'm gonna be a daddy." He said happily. He looked at her. "I know you're probably scared but, you're going to be a great mom."

"I never thought this would happen." "I'm so happy."

"So am I." "You don't have to worry about anything." "I'm gonna be there for you, and our baby."

"I know." He put his palm to her cheek. They slowly drifted closer to each other. Mackenzie's phone rang.

"Hello?" "Hi Britt, hang on." She took the phone away from her ear and looked at Sam."I'll come find you later to get your number." She put the phone back up to her ear. "I'm back." She said as she walked away.
