The next morning Sam woke up. Mackenzie wasn't next to him but he could hear the shower running.

Mackenzie hadn't heard the shower door open. She jumped when Sam kissed her shoulder.

"Sorry." He said. He continued kissing her shoulder.

"You know what I've noticed?"

"On the times we've slept together since I've been back, someone always starts it."

Two days later Britt was in California for an appearance. When it was over she stopped by Mackenzie's house. They were in the living room.

"Next week's gonna be fun." Britt said.

"Yeah." "It's always fun doing signings and appearances." "It'll be nice to get out of the house."

"At least you don't have to worry about you and Sam." "Last time you went on the road nothing happened."

"Um, yeah."

"What?"

"We had sex."

"When?"

"Two nights ago and the next morning in the shower."

"How did that happen?"

"He was here, helping me with the nursery." "We were in here, the baby started to kick, we both got excited and he kissed me." "I tried to resist the urge but he coaxed me into it." Sam and Steve were in Houston driving back from an autograph signing. Steve was driving. Sam was being really quiet.

"What's wrong Sam?" He asked.

"I'm just thinking about Mackenzie."

"You want her back don't you?"

"Yeah." "I've been thinking about it for awhile now." "I spent the night with her two nights ago." "Being next to her, I just felt happy."

"Tell her."

"If I do she'll resist, she'll push me away." "I know it, I know her."
