Hermione and Lucius reached a massive doorway. They entered to find a twelve-foot tall man with blue skin and ram horns protruding from a head piece, sitting in a very large chair.

"Ah, little man, you have returned with the omega that I seek. Bring her here so that I might look at her," he said, crooking a finger to bid them closer to him. When they stood in front of him, he leaned down to inspect Hermione, who gave Lucius a side-eyed glare.

"Little man, this is not what I asked for. This is an alpha like you. Can you not tell the difference? Are you that incompetent, or do you just think me naive that I would not be able to tell? Honestly, I should not have trusted you or that imbecile of a bard to do this job. I should have just done it myself. Well, there's nothing for it I suppose. I might as well keep this one as an added bonus for the tribute," he mused, sitting back in his chair and placing his chin against his hand as he leaned on the armrest.

"Sir, I must insist that it was not my intention to deceive you with this dimwit. No no, I was merely bringing her here to tell you that since the Bard made a mistake, we could still use it to our advantage. Merely keep her in a trance state until the omega comes to save her. I have no doubt that she is on the way now as we speak," Lucius persuaded gracefully.

"Hey! Watch it, prat. I will not play bait for you or anyone," Hermione growled menacingly.

"Hhmm, you made some good points. What makes you think that the omega will come to save this alpha?" The giant asked, ignoring Hermione.

"I have it on good authority that she is this alpha's mate. Based on my time with the omega, I have no doubt that she will fight tooth and nail for those she is close to," he explained with a casual smile.

"Alright then, I'm convinced. If what you say is true, then I will wait for the omega to show up and try to rescue this alpha. In the meantime, I agree that we should put her in a trance state, but what kind should it be?" The giant asked, scratching his chin in thought.

"I vote for a euphoric state," Hermione piped in trying to save her mind from further damage. "It would be less likely for me to want to leave that kind of trance, even if someone were to try to reach me through Legilimenancy."

"Hhmm…that is a fine suggestion. Plus, it will make for good chaos since you won't actually know that you're in a trance state. Let us begin then," The giant said as he reached down with his large hand and placed his pointer finger on top of her head. A cold rush pressed against her mental shields, trying to break through them. She gasped with a shiver at the feeling. "It would seem you have been trained in mind magicks little alpha, and seem to be strong enough to withstand me. Interesting, you are no ordinary alpha, are you?"

"No Jötnar, I am the Alpha Prime," Hermione said as she tried to shake off the cold feeling from his attempt to penetrate her mind.

"Impressive! You know what I am as well! This simpleton doesn't seem to know anything outside of one field of magicks, yet here you are with more knowledge than most of your kind, at least that I've come across. Though, I do find it interesting that you named yourself Alpha Prime when the little one here said that he was the Prime," the Jötnar wondered.

"Yes, I am aware of more than one teaching of magicks. In Midgard, I had come to really appreciate Seidr magick. I have come across your realm and kin in my research and do know about you. As for what Lulu here has claimed, he would be lying to you. If he were the prime and had been in a relationship with the omega equivalent, then why would you need me to lure her here? And where is the claim mark from her?" She said matter-of-factly without sounding too boastful.

The Jötnar looked thoughtful once more as he leaned closer to Lucius."You are correct, he does not bear a claim mark. And I have found him to be more of a dimwit than you," the Jötnar hummed thoughtfully. "Well, this does pose an interesting conundrum. I need you for bait, but I no longer need him since he is no longer useful and has not fulfilled all that we have bargained for. There seems to be only one thing to do."

He smiled widely and snapped his fingers, causing Lucius' clothes to change into that of a court jester's. Lucius' eyes clouded over with absence of mind as he began a routine of juggling, balancing on a ball, and then at the same time, hopping around doing backflips and somersaults like jesters of old. Hermione laughed hysterically, only to realize her mistake all too soon when the feeling of an icy tundra seized her mind.

Hermione woke up on the couch of her apartment with Narcissa curled up against her side sleeping peacefully. She looked down to see a book in her hand, something that she had read before, but felt it was good to reread once more. She wrapped her arm around Narcissa tighter and pulled her close as she continued to read her book. She got to the end of the book, only for her to awaken once more on the couch with a sleeping Narcissa in her arms and a different book in her hand.

Unbeknownst to Hermione, the Jötnar had indeed gotten into her mind and put her into a euphoric trance, putting her to sleep until such a time when she would be awakened.
