Mackenzie was rushed to the hospital. Sam had just arrived at the restaurant when he'd gotten a call from Britt telling him what happened. He hurried to the hospital. When he got to Mackenzie's room he saw her sitting in her hospital bed looking worried. She was hooked up to a fetal heart monitor. He went to her and they hugged.

"Are you ok?" He asked worried.

"I'm not sure yet."" "They're running tests."

"The baby?"

"She's alive, thank god, but I don't know." "I'm scared Sam." "I can't lose her."

"She's going to be fine and so will you, I promise."

The doctor came in.

"Doctor please tell me our daughter is ok." Mackenzie said.

"She's fine." "You have a condition called Toxemia, it's high blood pressure in pregnant women."

"Is it serious?" Sam asked.

"Toxemia restricts blood flow, food and oxygen to the placenta." "It can result in a small baby, premature delivery or other complications." "You don't need to worry about those right now." "Women usually respond quickly to the treatment." "It's a treatment of a no salt diet, no stress and plenty of bed rest." "As long as you do that the symptoms should reverse"

"How long is the bed rest?" Mackenzie asked.

"I recommend at least a month."

"Alright."

"I'm keeping you for observation." "You're husband can stay with you."

"Is flying ok?" "I live in California."

"That's ok but you must begin bed rest as soon as you get home." "I'll be back later to check on you." She left the room.

Sam looked at Mackenzie.

"I'm staying with you tonight." He said.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

"I'm just glad she's ok."

"So am I." "Now we have to make sure you're ok."

"She just kicked."

"Hi." Sam said rubbing Mackenzie's stomach "I know you can hear us." "Don't worry, mommy will get better." He leaned down and kissed her stomach. "I love you."
