Over the last two weeks Mackenzie had been bored to death from the bed rest. She had a doctor's appointment in two weeks to check on her condition. She was waiting for Britt to come see her. There was a knock at the front door. Sam asked it. Britt was standing there.

"Hi." Sam said.

"Hi." She went inside.

"I need a favor."

"What?"

"Convince Mackenzie to take me back."

"Sam, I can't do that."

"Why not?"

"I've straight out told her to take you back." "She won't listen." "I know she loves you but you know how stubborn she is."

"Did she tell you she loves me?"

"No, I can tell she does though."

"I don't just want to get back together, I want to get married."

"Does she know that?"

"No." "Don't tell her."

"I won't."

Britt went upstairs.

"Hey." Britt said happily coming into the room.

"Hi." They hugged.

"There's my niece." She kissed and rubbed her stomach. "How are you?" "Uncle Austin sends his love."

They talked for a few hours.

"I bet you can't wait to get out of this bed." Britt said.

"I can't." "I'm thinking I probably won't be able to travel though."

"Are you gonna miss Sam when he's not here anymore?"

"Maybe a little." "He's been doing such a good job." "He's been reading children's books to the baby at night." "It's so cute." "I feel bad." "He really wants to get back together." "He'll find someone one day."

"He wants you."

"I know."

"Suppose he does find someone eventually." "You won't be jealous at all?"

"I might be a little, at first, but I'll get over it." "Like I said I want him to be happy and he can't be with me." "I have to let him go." "That's how much I-

"You can say you love him." Britt said quietly.

"I do, but I just know it won't work."

Later that night. Mackenzie was sitting up in bed with a pillow behind her back. Sam was laying down by her stomach reading the baby a story. He looked up from the story and noticed Mackenzie had fallen asleep.

"Let's cut the story short tonight." He said quietly to her stomach. He put the book down. "Maybe you can go into mommy's dreams and convince her to take daddy back." "See, mommy doesn't think it'll work out with her and daddy." "Daddy knows it will." "Once mommy sees it to, we'll be so happy."
