Remnant's Mightiest Heroes!

Chapter 21: Beginning of Destruction

[~][~]

Odin's Vault, Asgard

Beneath the Royal Palace of Valaskjalf is Odin's Vault, a chamber that is home to many of Odin Borson, the Allfather and King of Asgard. These are treasures that he gained because of his victories throughout his life. Of course, most of these treasures were dangerous enough to bring about Ragnarök. To prevent this, the king of Asgard captured, stole, purchased, and did whatever he could to take all the relics and weapons that could bring about the end of Asgard.

That also meant protecting them. Because of its contents, the vault has become the target for those seeking powerful weapons of destruction. This is why guards have been posted and changed in shifts. These guards are Einherjar, a warrior-class of Asgardian society. Dead warriors who inhabited the mighty hall Valhalla and who pass their time providing quelling conflicts in Asgard and the rest of the nine realms as they wait for the final battle at Ragnarök.

Four Einherjar are protecting the vault today. The prestigious soldiers wore ornate protective armor, including a chest plate with a high neck collar, shoulder guards, gauntlets, boots, and a distinctive, ornate helmet. Complimenting their armor is a fabric cape. All of them are armed with shields and spears and on alert. They would be fools not to be. There was only one time that somebody had broken into the vault and nearly made off with one of the relics. It showed them that they were being lax, and it resulted in the loss of two of their Einherjar brothers.

Ever since then, they've tightened their search patterns. Two of them would patrol the center of the vault while the others walked the sides. They peered around corners to make sure there was no one waiting to ambush them. So far, it's a silent and peaceful atmosphere.

That peace and silence were shattered as the ceiling burst. Reacting in time, the guards raised their shields as chunks of rubble rained down upon them. They heard something heavy landing on the ground. The Einherjar raised their weapons, ready to confront the intruder. It was only when the dust settled that they got a good look at the intruder. Everyone's eyes nearly bugged out of their heads as energy crackled.

"Odin's Beard…"

Those were the last words of one Einherjar as a beam of energy vaporized him. The rest of the guard didn't have time to react as two more met the same fate in rapid succession. The last guard charged at the intruder with a spear thrust. This only resulted in a metallic clang, which drew the intruder's attention. The guard was backhanded with a heavy fist, sending him flying into a wall.

Seeing the guards neutralized, the intruder moved with a large woven sack in hand. One by one, the intruder loaded the relics inside. It placed them inside with care as if each of them was fragile. It stopped when it came to a brazier with a lit flame. For a moment, it considered taking it but just moved on to other relics. The bag was bulging with each relic it held. As soon as it cleared out the vault, the intruder moved to the spot beneath the hole it created upon entering the vault. It looked up as it shot upward and through the hole

It was gone by the time more Einherjar arrived.

November 13, 9:00

Avengers Mansion, New York

"Thank you, guys again," Ruby says as she, Riri, and Gwen exits her room at Avengers Mansion. "Your input is really helpful for my project, and I'll be sure to credit you."

"It's no problem, Ruby," Riri said with a small smile. "I'm sort of excited to see it in action."

"Just make sure you do all of the legwork, otherwise Max will know that you didn't think of it yourself.," Gwen said with a mischievous smile as they made their way down the stairs. "That aside, you'll need a lab rat for your project. Maybe Shaun may be willing."

"I'm not moving to test on live subjects yet," Ruby said. "I need to go over a few things. Like the programming to make sure that the nanites don't go wrong and kill someone. Speaking of which, I wanted to read up on Dr. Helen Cho's notes on the creation of synthetic tissue and Regeneration Cradle…"

As Ruby rambled on and on, the two Secret Warriors looked at each other. Ruby had been acting like this ever since her project for the upcoming Stark Expo. She would regularly think of something, draw up a schematic, and throw it away. The pattern persisted until she came up with an idea. A brilliant idea. But even that seemed to dampen her stress by a small margin.

"Are you sure you don't want to work on a weapon instead?" Gwen asked. "That's usually your forte. You could design something for the police in their fight against crime."

"I considered it. But then I remembered something that Tony said once," Ruby said as she remembers a news broadcast of the armored avenger before his official debut. When he got back from Afghanistan. "I have much more to offer than making things that shoot bullets. So, for once, I want to try something that isn't a weapon. Something that can help the community."

Both nodded at her reasoning. It was odd seeing someone as pure as Ruby to be designing weapons. To be fair, Remnant was a place where the development of weapons became necessary. But they are glad that she won't become the next merchant of death.

"That's good and all, but you don't need to stress out over every detail," Riri pointed out. "When I first designed my armor, I had to reverse-engineer it from one of Iron Man's older models. Let me tell you, it was fun having it achieve flight…right until it crashed."

"Wait, how did you get your hands on Tony's tech?" Ruby asked with a confused expression. "He always made sure to keep it secure."

"Let's just say that I am an Iron Man fan and keep it at that," Riri said, deflecting the question smoothly. "I'll let you in on a secret Ruby…anything technological has an expiration date. The more we use it, the closer it becomes to be defunct. It's why we keep proper maintenance. Creating new technology is like that."

"I can ensure that it doesn't happen again," Ruby finished. "Thanks, Riri. I'll keep it in mind."

"My pleasure. Anyway, I got to go out on patrol," Riri said. She had just made her way to the front door when she turned back around. "By the way…when your project succeeds, will you allow me access? I would like to integrate the system into my armor."

"Don't you have forcefields?" Ruby asked.

"I do…but it never hurts to have a backup plan," Riri said in a not-so-subtle manner. Gwen just rolled her eyes.

"I'll see what I can do," Ruby said. "But first I need to pass the Expo."

"Thanks. See you later," Riri said as she exits the door. The two teens stared after her without saying a word. It was Gwen that broke the silence.

"I got to say…you and Riri get along better than I thought," Gwen said.

"Huh?" Ruby turned to face her. "Why do you say that?"

"Let's just say that Riri wasn't exactly the sociable type," Gwen explains. "She's the type of girl who would rather build things than relationships. I guess being the only fifteen-year-old to attend college would do that to you."

"I think I can relate," Ruby said offhandedly. She was the youngest student to attend Beacon Academy and she didn't want to stand out.

"Well, it got worse after her stepfather was killed in a car accident," Gwen continues, making Ruby cringe. "Yeah, that wasn't easy for her. It was then that inspired her to become a hero and put her intellect to good use. She wanted to ensure that no one would experience that type of tragedy again. But on the side, it's feeding her self-exile. She'd rather focus on being a hero than set aside some time for fun."

"That's not healthy," Ruby pointed out. "You mean to tell me that she's focusing on heroics instead of her personal life?"

Gwen's silence answered her question. Ruby looked back at the door in worry. During their second semester at Beacon, Blake had been to focus on stopping the White Fang and Roman Torchwick to worry about her personal life. Not only were her grades suffering, but also her health. It took Yang to snap her out of it.

"But she has been getting better," Gwen quickly adds. "Ever since she joined the Secret Warriors, she's been coming out of her shell. Now that she met you…she's been getting chummy with you."

"We have a lot in common," Ruby admits.

Now that Gwen mentioned it, Riri had been seeking to correspond with her more often. Whenever they had the chance, they would meet for lunch or a quick snack. They would talk about weapons, possible upgrades, Remnant's mech shifting mechanisms, and other technological jargon. Now that Gwen brought it up, could that be the reason she wanted to talk with her in the first place?

Ruby shook her head at the notion. It wasn't fair to judge her friend like that. She was probably looking for ways to upgrade her armor with Ruby. Maybe she can use her single-minded focus to help her with her social issues. One thing she's not doing is ditching her as Yang did in their first semester.

"If that's the case," Ruby said, grinning in excitement. "Then maybe we can talk more on defense systems some time at Jamba Juice. Even better…I can plan the best day ever! We will do so much together! I wish I had my 'best day ever activities' binder."

"You mean the one you stole from Weiss?" Gwen asked, making her freeze. "Yeah…she told me that bit once. Nora told everybody about your lunch fight."

"I'm not a thief."

"You can't call that a battle strategy!"

The girls turned to see the rest of Team RWBY and JNPR walking out the secret entrance to the bunker beneath the mansion. All of them looked to be fresh out of the shower, steam coming off their bodies. Weiss appeared to be screaming at Yang with a towel clenched in one hand.

"A battle strategy is more complex than that!"

"Hey, at least we managed to get it to overload!" Yang said defensively. "Who knew that the way to solve the problem was to keep hitting?"

"So according to you, we should keep giving it kinetic energy to absorb until it reaches its maximum size?" Weiss asked with heat. "Which I may add, means its legs can no longer support its weight and cause it to fall as it overloads? If that weren't a simulation, people could've died!"

"She does have a point Yang," Jaune agreed.

"What's going on?" Gwen asked as the Blanchette, and blonde argued.

"Urban warfare exercise," Ruby explains. "I wanted to work on my project so I pointed out the possibility that we could be separated. Weiss backed me up."

"Let me guess…the Growing Man simulation again?"

"Yep," Blake, who overheard them answered with a small pop. "We did our research on the Kang Invasion of Earth. As it turns out, the Growing Man can overload if you hit it hard enough. When Yang heard that, she went crazy and began trying to pull it off."

"In hindsight, it's probably not the best idea," Jaune admits, walking forward. "We should come up with alternative solutions to deal with him before confronting Kang. I don't want to face that guy again."

He was met with the sound of silence. The two girls were trying their best to stifle laughter with their hands. Jaune wondered what was up with them until he heard the rest snicker. Dread filled up when he realized that is going on. He's going to go through this a second time.

"Let me guess…my hoodie?" Jaune asked in resignation. Emblazoned on his chest is the image of a cute brown rabbit. The girls nodded, trying unsuccessfully to stifle their giggles. He waited for the hammer to drop.

"It's got a cute bunny rabbit!" Ruby gushed.

"It's Pumpkin Pete! You know…from the cereal?"

"You mean that cereal featured Pyrrha?" Gwen asked to which the person nods. "I know it's unhealthy, but you got guts. What did you do? Send in a box top for a prize?"

"Yeah! Fifty!" Jaune exclaimed. They stared at him for a moment before they burst out laughing. Falling to the floor, the girls clutched their bellies painfully. Jaune could feel the grins on his friend's face.

"Told you so," Yang said, bumping her fist to his shoulder. Nora just patted his back in sympathy.

"Don't get us wrong, Jaune," Gwen said as she stood up. "It's just we didn't think you are the type to wear cute things. We assume boys like you would prefer their fashion to be…edgy."

"Well, everyone has their taste," Jaune said defensively. He looked at his hoodie again. "But this hoodie carries a lot of memories…"

Everyone's faces softened at this. This has sentimental value to him. Gwen subconsciously felt her pocket for her smartphone as if to make sure that it's still there.

"If it's that important to you, then keep it close to you at all times," Gwen said warmly. "But I would recommend changing out of it at times.

"Right…"

"On the subject of the Growing Man…have you tried an electromagnetic pulse?" Gwen suggested. "That's pretty much the go-to solution for dealing with supervillain tech."

"We thought that as well," Weiss said. "But then we figured that Kang might be expecting that and develop countermeasures. I mean, he is from the future after all."

"Fair enough…then why not hack it?" Gwen asks. "Give Kang a taste of his own medicine."

"Hey! That does sound like a good idea!" Yang cheered. She looked at her sister. "Can you pull it off?"

"I'm still behind on my computer programming class," Ruby groaned before looking at Gwen. "Which reminds me, is Professor Clayton's paper due tomorrow?"

"Yep," Gwen nods. "And don't you have that Robotics Project to do as well?"

"Gods! I completely forgot!" Ruby yelped, giving a small jump. "We're going to have a bot fight and I haven't even started on building mine! I got to go!"

"Where are you going?" Yang asked as Ruby rushed to the door. To everyone's humor, Ruby nearly tripped before spinning back around.

"I'm heading over to the Junkyard to get some metal," Ruby said. "Want to come?"

"As much as I love to, I don't want to get dirty again," Yang said combing her fingers in blonde locks. "Sorry, Ruby."

"Oh…so you're ditching me again," Ruby muttered with a huff. She turned to Weiss. "What about you Weiss? Want to come?"

"I think I'm spoken for," Weiss said, hugging her shoulders as she shuddered. "I'm not going to sort through filthy garbage!"

"Oh…then what about…"

"I've got some homework to finish," Blake said. "Sorry, Ruby."

"That's a shame," Ruby said sadly. She looked at the rest of her friends. The silver-eyed girl didn't want to go alone.

"I think we're free," Jaune spoke up. Ruby looked at him expectantly, which he returned with a smile. He turned his head to the rest of his team. They all nodded their assent. Gwen was about to speak up when her phone vibrated. She pulled it out and read the screen.

"Text from dad," Gwen said as she puts her phone away. "Sorry, Ruby I got to go. I look forward to the bot fight. But are you sure that you're okay with this?"

"Sure! I have two friends that are robots but the ones we're using aren't sentient," Ruby said. Back on Remnant, she had a friend that is just like Vision back on Remnant. Except she didn't have his density shifting powers, but an aura of her own.

"Besides…" Ruby sneered, adopting a sinister look. "I can avenge the other robots by trashing the other contestants. Or my robot's name isn't the AVENGER!"

With that, she cackled madly like a supervillain high on sugar. Everyone sweat drops at this reaction. Already, they feel sorry for the future victims of Ruby's robot. Whatever that may be. Knowing her, it's probably going to be heavily weaponized.

"Well, good luck with that," Gwen simply said. She turned her head back to Jaune. "And hey…if you want to update your fashion, I know a place. Want to go sometime?"

"Sure," Jaune agreed. He didn't seem to notice Pyrrha's expression turn sour at his answer. "I'll be sure to give you a heads up."

"Ditto. I'm out of here y'all," Gwen said as she exits the mansion.

"Okay guys, I hope you're ready to get dirty again," Jaune said as he makes his way to the door. Nora and Ren moved to follow him, but they looked back at Pyrrha in concern. The red-haired didn't move an inch from her spot.

"I think I got some homework that needs to be finished by tomorrow," Pyrrha said, turning and walking briskly away into the living area. Jaune looked perplexed by her attitude while his teammates had different reactions. Namely, Nora palming her forehead and Ren sighing.

"What's wrong with her?"

"You're going to have to figure that out yourself, Vomit Boy," Yang said, a little irritated by Jaune's obliviousness. "Anyway…you better make sure that my sister comes back, or I will make sure I puke in your hair."

"You would pulverize me if I did that," Jaune muttered as he made his way out, his fellow teammates following him. The remaining members of Team RWBY watched them leave.

"So, what do you want to do?" Yang asked as they walk into the living area. They spotted Pyrrha at the couch. She browsed through the channels sulkily.

"Well, as Blake said, we can get our homework done," Weiss said. They walked to the table where three backpacks, corresponding to their color, sat on the seats. Blake opened hers and took out several books.

"But homework is so boring!" Yang bemoaned as she sat down and put her feet on the table. "I say we do something fun!"

"Then I hope this might help your boredom," another voice spoke up. The girls turned around to see Carol Danvers entering the room. The Avenger was dressed in a white t-shirt and jeans instead of her usual uniform. She carried a single strap bag underneath one arm

"Carol!" Pyrrha seems to have forgotten about her funk about Jaune. "What are you doing here?"

"I was on my way to a meeting at Avengers Tower. Then I figure I drop by for a visit," Carol said. "Besides, I've got a job request for you."

"If it's another dog sitting job then I vote no," Blake said flatly as she peers at Carol from behind a book. "First I have to deal with a dog that can be sent through the mail. Then I must work with a giant teleporting dog. Let's not forget that we met an actual werewolf. Finally, we have to babysit Hawkeye's dog…who happens to have an eyepatch!"

"Come on, Blake! Lucky wasn't all that bad," Weiss said, gushing at the memory. "Besides, the eyepatch makes him look even cuter!"

"Yeah. Clint appreciates you looking after him while he was on a mission from Fury," Carol said with a smile. "But don't worry…Chewie isn't a dog."

She opened her bag and held it to the was moving inside the bag, egging their curiosity. What came out is a cat with yellow and orange fur.

"A cat?" Blake asked. "Well, I'll admit…that is refreshing."

"Aww, he's so cute!" Weiss cooed as she pets the cat. It purred as it put its head against her hand. "So, Chewie is his name?"

"Chewie is she. And yeah, it's her name."

"Would she happen to be named after Chewbacca from Star Wars?" Yang asked with a raised eyebrow. "Kind of strange to name her after a guy."

"Hey, she reminds me of Chewie and it's way better than Goose," Carol said. She pulled out a camera from the bag. "This is a Chewie-Cam to keep track of her while you are away. Or in case I want to make sure that you guys aren't lying about keeping a handle on her."

"Carol, I'm offended!" Yang said, placing a hand on her chest in mock offense. "You're asking us to babysit a cat. What's the worst that could happen?"

"That's the thing…" Carol started to say when something happened.

Chewie's mouth opened and became unhinged. To nearly everyone's shock, several massive, purple, and slimy tentacles poured out of it. The tentacles trashed around in the air. Two of them grabbed Blakes as they retreated into the cat's mouth. Blake was too stunned to try and save her books. The same could be said for Weiss and Yang, who stared at the cat, who looked at them with a blank look. Nobody speaks for a moment.

"Did that cat just eat my books?" Blake finally asked.

"Goose isn't a cat," Carol said. "Rather…he's a Flerken."

"A Flerken?" Weiss asked, peering at the cat in curiosity. But she was exercising caution by keeping her distance. "How does she have those tentacles in her mouth? Is she an alien species or something?"

"Right on the dot Weiss," Carol said. "Flerken's have access to a pocket dimension inside their bodies. They can store many things like eggs, fanged mouths, or even tentacles to protect themselves. There's a theory that they can use these subspaces as a means of instant transport. But if it's true, the process will be messy, to say the least."

"But I will warn you…while they resemble cats, they are extremely dangerous. I once saw Chewie swallow four Kree soldiers without a problem."

"Don't worry, he won't harm friendly people," Carol assures her. "Of course, if you get cut by her claws, they won't be able to heal. Lucky for you guys, you've got aura. So, she shouldn't be a problem…unless you do something to make her swallow you of course."

"That's comforting…" Weiss mumbled. The cuteness of cats in the universe is now and forever shattered. "You know…maybe going to the scrapyard with Ruby wasn't such a bad idea after all…"

"Be careful what you wish for, huh Blake?" Yang chuckled nervously at the cat Faunus, who gave her partner a flat stare.

"I'm not laughing, Yang."

"Wow! Look at all of this stuff!"

Ruby and the three members of JNPR are searching through the New York City scrapyard. It was pretty much what they expected it to be. Broken-down cars are piled high on top of each other. Some had broken headlights and windows. Other than cars, there are piles among piles of scrap and junk that they began sorting through.

"Nora…this isn't a bubble bath," Ren shook his head at Nora. The orange-haired girl is digging through a big pile of junk. She popped her head out while wearing an abandoned goat mascot mask.

"Come on Ren! There's so much to find!"

"It's trash Nora," Ren said. "We're only here to help Ruby find materials for her robot."

"Well, you know what they say on Earth? Another man's trash is another man's pleasure.

"Treasure," Ren corrected. "It's another man's treasure."

"Treasure. Pleasure. The same thing to me," Nora shrugged as she sank back into the pile. Ren just let out a smile before helping her search the pile. Jaune looked over to Ruby who was looking through a pile of scrap.

"Ruby are you sure that you want to get your materials here? Why don't you ask Tony to lend you some materials?"

"I'd rather not take advantage of them than we've already had," Ruby explained. "We're in enough debt in their kindness as it is. We should look for ways to make our own money, which is why I'm hoping my project gets me a job at Stark Industries until we get home. Besides, if Tony can make an advanced suit of armor out of scrap, then I can make a killer robot out of spare parts. Ooh! Aircraft-grade aluminum!"

Ruby's eyes shined as she pulls out a huge sheet of metal as thick as a blanket from the pile. Now that Ruby mentioned it, he needed to get a job. But he'd been warned that maintaining a job, school life, and superhero work is a difficult balance to keep. Jaune had shuffled through a few pieces of discarded junk when something caught his eye.

"Hmm? What's this?" Jaune wondered as he picked it up. It looked to be an ebony chest plate of armor. He looked around for the rest of the armor pieces. To his disappointment, he couldn't find any.

"They must be scattered," Jaune muttered. "I wonder if it fits."

He held it up to his torso to measure it, imagining it replacing the white chest plate of his suit. At that moment, it suddenly latched onto him. Before he could blink, more metal plating unfolded from the edges of the chest plate. Ebony plating encased his arms, legs, and even covered his back. Spikes grew along his shoulders and arms. Jaune's head became encased in a matching helmet with two slits to see through. By the time it fully encased him, he was taller than before. No, not taller…gigantic!

"What is this?" Jaune asked, looking down at himself. In front of him, and orange HUD lit up. This allowed him to see outside of the armor.

"Jaune? What's going…WHOA!" Nora's jaw dropped as she saw him. The junk she was carrying fell to the ground with a clatter. His shadow fell upon Ren and Ruby, causing them to turn around. Their expressions mirrored the hammer wielder.

"Jaune…is that you?" Ruby asked attentively.

"Yeah, it's me," Jaune confirmed, his voice giving a slight echo. "I just found this chest plate and…this happened!"

"It looks awesome!" Nora cried out as she runs over to the leg. She raps her knuckle on the metal. "Ooh! I wonder what you can do with it! Maybe you can smash stuff like the Hulk!"

"It looks like some kind of advance suit of armor," Ruby said, appraising the suit. "If I had my suit on, I think I'd be able to run an analysis."

"Do you think Tony built this?" Ren asked.

"I don't think he would ever leave it lying around," Ruby said with a shake of her head. "Jaune, do you think you can exit the suit?"

"I think I can. One of my sisters once said that if you can put something on, you can take it off" Jaune said as he began patting himself down at the chest section of the armor. "Umm…I can't take this off! How the hell do I…!"

As he struggled to get it off, the eyes of the visor began to glow faint orange, which grew intense by the second. The other remnantians felt their hairs stand on end. Listening to their instincts, they leaped to the side as a beam of energy shot out from the visor. The beam hit a pile of scrap and went beyond it. The beam left a hole through the piles, nearly turning them into slag. The teens stared at the scene before looking back at the armored Jaune.

"Wow! That was cool!" Nora cried out. "How did you do that Jaune?"

"I don't know," Jaune said, feeling his hands against the helmet of the armor. "I just wanted to get this off…and then that happened."

"Well do it again!" Nora cheered. She was met with leveling glares from the other two heroes-in-training.

"Nora, that isn't a toy," Ruby scolded, pointing to the armored Jaune. "Weapons aren't toys. It's the first thing we learn in combat school. Somebody could've gotten hurt from that blast just now."

"Ruby is right Nora," Ren said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "This armor should be in

"Okay," Nora nodded sadly. Then she brightened up. "But when we figure out how to get it off, can you at least give me a turn?"

"Not until we can—" Ruby was cut off when Nora was suddenly struck by an armored fist. The orange-haired girl was sent flying across the junkyard. She got some distance before she crashed into a wall of stacked cars.

"Nora!" Ren cried out in worry. Ruby stared after her in shock before she rounds on Jaune in anger. He was in a stance where his right arm was extended and his hand clenched. It was he that punched Nora.

"Jaune what was that for?" Ruby demanded. "She just wanted to —HEY!"

She was ignored as Jaune's gigantic form ran past her. He didn't seem to register her words. His armored feet hammered the ground as he rushed to where Nora is. The girl was sprawled among garbage groaning. Her turquoise eyes opened just in time to see the armored Jaune standing over her.

"Ow! What was that for?" Nora asked, repeating Ruby's question. In response, Jaune clenches his armored hands and raised them above his head. Nora's eyes became wide as dinner plates as he brought them down. Jaune's fists smashed the ground before him and began to pound the ground repeatedly. Dust and shrapnel are kicked up, forming a cloud. It lasted for several seconds before it finally stopped. He stood up and waited for the dust to clear.

When it did, the only thing he saw is the crater that his fists created. Nora is nowhere to be found. But among the dust are red rose petals. Nearby, Ruby was breathing heavily. She had used her semblance to quickly speed Nora to safety.

"Are you alright?" Ruby asked. She brought out her scroll to check Nora's aura meter. To her horror, it was dangerously close to being red.

"I'm alright…" Nora managed to get out. They heard giant footsteps behind them. When they turned around, they saw Jaune standing behind them.

"That was taking it too far Jaune!" Ruby asked heatedly. "Why would you hit Nora!"

"Guys…somethings…wrong…with me!" Jaune said weakly, cringing and gripping his head.

"Jaune?" Ruby asked in worry. She tried to approach him but backed away when he swiped his arm at them. With the creaking of metal, Jaune stood tall. Orange orbs locked onto them and began to glow brighter. Jaunes voice went from strangled speech to a voice of rage and anguish.

"GET…AWAY!

Avengers Tower

"And here we are at another boring meeting," Tony said. "So, what's new with everyone today?"

Several members of the Avengers have gathered at a table in the meeting room, dressed in casual wear. Currently, there is only Steve, Bruce, Tony, Natasha, Carol, and Thor present. The rest are either on separate missions or going about their daily lives until they are called to assemble.

"Thanks to Kate and Yang's efforts, we were able to crack down on the last A.I.M. strongholds here in New York," Natasha said. "But they're bound to have shell companies to keep them running. I'll be going back to S.H.I.E.L.D. to assist in an undercover operation. Hope you guys can handle yourselves without me."

"Excellent. We can't afford to have A.I.M. make all the toys they want," Steve said. He turned to two of their best minds on a topic that's becoming popular as time goes on. "Tony. Bruce. How are we on preparations against Kang?"

The room's atmosphere became gloom at the mention of the time-traveling warlord. Kang has been the most frequent subject of their meetings. For good reason. He invaded another planet and tried to kill several children for crimes they did not even commit yet. They vowed that Kang would pay for his transgressions.

"I've updated our cybersecurity and ran it through some simulations just to see if there are any holes to fill," Tony said smugly. "I even used a bit of tech I reversed-engineered from the 31st century. Let's see him try to hack my tech now."

"Can you make sure that S.H.I.E.L.D. and its branches get them as well?" Steve asked. "I know you are done making weapons, but we need their help in case Kang comes back."

"Already ahead of you Cap," Tony replied in resignation. "But only if it will get Fury to stop stealing my tech. The Mandroids are already enough."

"While we are on the subject of Kang," Bruce began. "How are we on finding Remnant? We promised RWBY and JNPR that we will help liberate their homeworld, but it's not going to happen if we don't know where."

"Which is why I am going," Carol said, directing attention to her. "I'll be poking around every corner of the galaxy until I find their planet. If you need me, you know how to reach me."

"We will, Carol," Steve said. "The sooner we find Remnant, the sooner we can free it from Kang's clutches. But once you find Remnant, please come back to us. The Avengers have always fought together."

"Of course, Steve," Carol said in assurance. Secretly, she wanted to trash Kang and his army the moment she finds Remnant. But she knew that kind of recklessness will do more harm to her friends than good. Especially if Kang knows too much about her. Which reminds her of something.

"And you don't have to worry about Chewie. I gave RWBY and JNPR the job of watching Chewie while I'm gone. I stopped by the mansion before the meeting."

"Wait…you're letting them watch Chewie?" Tony asked in worry. He spoke as if Earth's Mightiest Hero had just given the teens a death sentence. "The cat that can eat anything?"

"Chewie isn't a cat. But yes, they're watching Chewie for me."

Everyone just stared at her. It was so quiet they could hear a pin drop. Tony broke the silence by clearing his throat.

"Well on the bright side, if anything happens to them, we can blame you," Tony joked. Carol rolled her eyes at him.

"By the way Steve, I would like to propose helping RWBY and JNPR undergo Astronaut Training. If I recall, you had to fight Kang in space in the first Kang Invasion."

"And if we're going to fight him, he'll likely have the Damocles in Remnant's orbit," Steve surmised. "How do you propose they train?"

"I've talked to Director Brand of S.W.O.R.D.," Carol began before she was interrupted by the armored avenger.

"S.W.O.R.D. huh?" Tony smirked. "Aren't they busy being upset that Kang took their headquarters?"

"They were. But they also had the foresight to construct a backup headquarters in the event Kang should retake the Damocles," Natasha said, giving Tony a light glare. "After Kang took off to invade Remnant, Director Brand had all S.W.O.R.D. resources relocated to the Peak."

"I remember her asking me to improve the defense shields," Bruce said. "And their gear since Tony won't give them weapons."

"I'm out of the weapons business, remember?" Tony asked defensively. "And the Peak? Can you introduce me to the guy who comes up with these names? I love to have a word with him."

"Why? What would you have called it?" Carol asked in curiosity.

"Me? I would've called it the Beach House," Tony said nonchalantly. "Or maybe Rocket Man."

"Eh…the Peak is better. Anyway, Brand has agreed to assist RWBY and JNPR with their space training. In a week, they'll send someone over to take them to the Peak. I guess this comes from being the former second-in-command of S.W.O.R.D."

Among the conversing Avengers, it was Steve who noticed the only teammate who didn't speak. Thor, the normally boisterous Asgardian, was looking down with a grim expression.

"Thor?" Steve asked, cutting through the conversations. The others turned their attention to the God of Thunder as if noticing him for the first time.

"Hmm?" Thor looked up. "Yes, Captain?"

"Is something up with you? You've been quiet throughout the meeting."

"It's nothing Captain," Thor said. Everyone gave him a look that said, 'that sentence tells us that something is wrong. He sighed in resignation. They were his friends and friends help each other. They could help Asgard again.

"Alright," Thor began. "Last night, somebody broke into Odin's Vault."

"Odin's Vault?

"It's where my father keeps his treasures," Thor explains. "As you know, Ragnarök is the dreaded end of my people. My father sought to prevent it from happening. He did this by acquiring all the relics and weapons that could bring about our destruction. Everything that could threaten the universe was kept under lock and key."

"Wait," Tony raised his hand. "So, your father, the great and powerful Odin, thought that he could save the universe…by putting everything that could destroy it in one place? How could that plan go wrong?"

"Stark…" Thor said with a low growl.

"Let stay focused you two," Steve said to break up the fight before it began. "If what Thor said is true, then we can't have dangerous artifacts falling in the wrong hands. Thor, do you have any idea on who the intruder might be?"

"The Einherjar guarding the vault are killed," Thor said. "By the time more arrived, the intruder was long gone. But Heimdall was able to see it as it exited the vault. But despite his loyalty to Asgard, I have a hard time believing him."

"Why?" Steve asked. "I remember fighting alongside him during the battle for Asgard. He's like a warrior with a high sense of honor.

"Because the intruder was something I destroyed long before the Chitauri Invasion," Thor said grimly. Everyone was taken aback by his answer. Before they could ask what, he meant, they heard the artificial butler for Avengers Tower.

"Pardon me, Avengers. But Miss Rose has put out a distress call from the New York City Junkyard."

"The junkyard?" Tony asked. "What could she be doing there?"

"Ruby went to the junkyard with her friends to get robot parts," Carol explained. "She told me that she wanted to gather parts for her robot project. J.A.R.V.I.S, can you tell us why she sent out a distress signal.

"Of course. Miss Rose was quite frantic…to keep a long story short, Jaune has come in possession of an advance suit of armor and is now attacking them."

"What?" The Avengers exclaimed as they stood upright from their seats. Their charges have been facing supervillains without a problem. But for one to attack his friends. That was unthinkable.

"Yes, and Miss Rose was kind enough to provide me with a picture," J.A.R.V.I.S said. "Allow me…"

On a holographic projection is a picture of the silver-eyed girl. She took a selfie with a Ren and Nora fighting a gigantic suit of black armor. An orange beam of energy had shot out of its eyes.

"Okay, I did not build that," Tony said as the body began to be encased in the Iron Man armor.

At that moment, something crashed through the wall of the meeting room. That sound was followed by a flash of lightning. Everyone turned to see Thor holding Mjolnir. The god of thunder had summoned his mystical hammer with the link, which returned to his hand no matter what. Which meant it crashed through the wall. The moment he gripped it he was instantly garbed in his Asgardian battle armor. Electricity sparked in his eyes.

"Where is this yard of junk?"

Back at the Junkyard, the three heroes in training are battling against their friend. Heeding his warning, they managed to get out of the way to avoid another energy blast. After regaining their bearings, they pulled out their weapons and begin to fight. So far, it's been several minutes, and they've made little to no progress.

"Jaune!" Ruby called out as she swung Crescent Rose at the legs. "I don't know what's going on, but you have to stop! Fight whatever's forcing you to do this!"

Her weapon slashed at the armor. To her disappointment, her scythe blade didn't so much as scratch it. The force of the impact nearly forced her faithful weapon out of her hands. She leaned back to avoid being hit by his fist. The silver-eyed girl gulped at the small crater that is left on the ground.

"It's not working!" Ren cried out as he slashed with StormFlower's sickle blades. He backflipped to avoid a retaliating blow before firing live ammunition at the armor. While he didn't want to hurt his friend, he knew that the armor is responsible for Jaune's violent behavior. It must be destroyed, which is easier said than done.

"Our weapons can't put a scratch on that armor!" Ren cried out.

"What tipped you off?" Nora cries out as she swings Magnhild to the armored Jaune's backside. The only thing it accomplished was making the armored Jaune stumble only for a little bit. In a split second, Jaune managed to grip the handle of the hammer and throw Nora over his shoulder. Seeing this, Ren leaped into the air and caught Nora in a bridal carry. He landed on the ground with a grunt of effort.

"Thanks," Nora said with a blush. As he put her down, she looked back at the menacing Jaune. "Just what the heck is this thing made of? Vibranium? It's like I'm hitting a tough wall!"

"If it was, I don't think T'Challa would ever leave it lying around," Ruby refutes, looking at the approaching Jaune. "We need to get that armor off him!"

"But how?" Nora asked.

"I'm working on that…" Ruby said

"Hey! What's going on over here?" The three teens whirled their heads to see the owner of the junkyard standing there. He is dressed in a blue jacket over a plaid button-up shirt, dark blue pants, and a red beanie.

The owner's face blanched at the sight of the armored Jaune and the teens with weapons. Unfortunately, he drew the attention of their berserk teammate. Their eyes went wide when they saw the visor opening to emit that forewarning orange glow. Knowing what was going to happen, Ruby burst into rose petals and sped towards the civilian. She reforms in front of him and pushed him out of the way. She barely had time to evade the beam of energy that hit the spot where the civilian was standing.

"ARG!" Ruby nearly screamed in pain. She looked at her Aura meter. To her horror, it was already in the red. That was only a graze, and the beam did that much damage to her aura. Who the heck created this thing? Looking up, she saw the civilian still standing there.

"In case you haven't noticed, a metal giant is attacking! Get out of here!" Ruby yelled. The man didn't need telling twice and bolted away. As Ruby struggled to get up, Nora and Ren attempted to get their friend's attention off Ruby. Nora fired a volley of grenades at the metal giant, which seemed to be no more effective than water balloons. Jaune attempted to advance upon the orange-haired girl, only to hold up its arm to block Ren's bullets. The green garbed boy grunted his disappointment.

"Jaune's moving fast despite wearing such large armor," Ren points out.

"And speaking of large…is he getting bigger?" Nora cried out. Indeed, it was getting bigger. The metal plating is expanding, making them even smaller than before.

"Well, this just got difficult," Ruby groaned.

"Are you alright Ruby?" Ren called out.

"My aura isn't," Ruby replied. "That suit that Jaune is wearing is giving him the strength that could rival the Hulk! I don't want to imagine what would happen if we took a full blast from Jaune."

"Speaking of which…IT'S CHARGING UP!" Nora shouts, pointing at her armored friend. The gigantic armor is looking down at them. The huntsman and huntresses in training got ready to fight.

But before they could move, something smashed into the face. For the first time since the battle started, the armored Jaune nearly lost his balance. Then, the same object crashed back into him, which is enough to knock him down. The sky above them had become clouded, followed by a flash of lightning. Floating in the sky is a sight for sore eyes.

"Thor!" Ruby cried out, relieved that her distress call was able to get help. The Asgardian god of thunder descended, Mjolnir sparking with electricity.

"I'm glad that you and your friends are alright, young Rose," Thor greeted sternly. "Now tell me…what in Niffleheim possessed young Arc to put on the Destroyer Armor?"

"The Destroyer Armor?" Ruby asked. "That's what that thing is? What Jaune is wearing?"

"Correct. It was created and enchanted by my father, Odin. Forged from Uru and enchanted by his magic. If I'm using the term right…it's programmed solely for battle and destruction. As the name implies, it will destroy anything it sets its sights on. Without question or mercy. It originally guarded his vault of treasures."

"If it's so dangerous then why would he just leave it lying around?" Ruby asked.

"Believe me, I'm at a loss as well," Thor said grimly. "It was supposed to be destroyed. I saw to it myself."

Any further conversation was halted as they heard the creaking of metal. The heroes looked to see the Destroyer getting up. Its fiery eyes glared hatefully at them, desiring their destruction.

"We'll discuss this matter at another time," Thor said, readying his hammer. "For now, we need to free young Arc from the armor before it consumes his life."

"Consumes his life?" Ren asked, worried about what he just said. "What are you talking about?"

"The armor is the one controlling his actions," Thor explains quickly. "The spirit inhabiting the armor will continue to grow more violent as long as young Arc is in the armor. Only someone with the will can control the armor, but even then, it's more demanding of its hosts. Eventually, he will burn through his life force."

"Did you say his life force?" Nora asked, her face becoming pale. She held a hand to her mouth in horror. "Gods…Jaune…"

They didn't have time to ponder the horrible fate that will befall their friend. The Destroyer has fired another energy blast at them. The huntsmen scattered while Thor took to the air. The Destroyer kept its beam focused on him. Thor kept evading the beam while throwing Mjolnir. The hammer sang as Thor controlled its flight pattern. He commanded it to strike the Destroyer at his head. But it appeared that the automaton was ready for it because it broke off its attack and tipped his head to the side.

"That blast was powerful enough to destroy Mjolnir," Thor grunted as he recalls his hammer. His father once warned him that the Destroyer can destroy anything, including Uru. He would be a fool not to listen to his father's wisdom as he did before his exile to Midgard.

"So how do we defeat it?" Ruby asked quickly, desperate to save her friend. "How do we get Jaune out of the armor?"

"There is a way for him to exit the armor. But in the state he is in, he won't listen to reason," Thor admits with gritted teeth. "It would've been easy to simply destroy it as I did before. But now that it has young Arc encased inside…it has become more difficult."

Thor clenched Mjolnir so tight as if he wanted to break it. For the first time, the remnantians saw the god of thunder in a helpless situation. All of them are helpless right now to help their friend from the metal monstrosity possessing him. Even the normally calm and composed Ren was letting his emotions show. But then it faded when he realized something.

"Wait…Thor, you said that the armor makes the wearer violent, correct?"

"Indeed, young Ren," Thor answered. "Those possessed by the Destroyer will become violent as it was created to do.

"Then all I need you to hold him still!" Ren yelled as he rushes forward.

"Ren, what are you doing?" Ruby cried out as Ren charged towards the Destroyer. It fired its energy beam at the approaching hero. Ren was able to read the telltale signs and evade them. When he got close, the Destroyer tried to smash him. Gripping the spike, he used them to climb up to the destroyer. When he got to the head, he wrapped his legs around it and held onto it.

The Destroyer struggled to get him off. First, it tried to shake him off. Then it tried to turn him into a red paste with its fists. It took every strength he could muster to keep himself on. He needed to stay on top for his plan to work. His friend's life depended on it. But his true challenge was the visor as it began to charge up. To his horror, Nora was in its sights.

"Nora!" Ren cried out as the Destroyer fired its beam. Just before the beam hit his important person, someone descended in front of her and crossed their arms. The beam hits her but doesn't harm her.

"You alright Nora?" Carol asked as she absorbs the energy the Destroyer is sending her way. It seemed to increase in intensity as it tried to disintegrate her.

"Captain Marvel!" Nora cried out, using Carol's codename.

"We came as soon as we got the call," Carol said as the Destroyer finally stopped firing.

Her powers let her take any energy and make it her own, which allows her to use it in a variety of ways. Like enhancing her physical abilities to extraordinary levels. She was tempted to use them, but the Destroyer still has Jaune inside. For now, she'll take any energy it tries to throw around until they can neutralize it.

Ren is relieved to see that Nora is alright. But the Destroyer is still resisting. Just when Ren considered executing his plan, the Destroyer suddenly froze. There was a creaking of metal as it struggled to move. The green-clad boys' ears picked up the sound of thrusters behind him. Turning around, he is greeted by the sight of another Avenger.

"Whatever you're going to do, it'd better be fast Mulan!" Iron Man cried out as his HUD flashed orange. "That thing is making my systems work overtime and it's going to fry!"

Ren nodded and placed his hands on the helmet of the Destroyer Armor. His semblance is called Tranquility for a reason. It can mask emotions, making him and anyone else invisible to the Grimm, who prey upon their negativity. But it also had the effect of calming anyone down. No, not calm…suppress emotions. He once calmed himself and a terrified Nora when that Grimm came to their village and destroyed it.

When he got to earth, he figured that his semblance would be of little use due to the lack of Grimm. But after training with his teacher, he discovered other ways to use his semblance. Like right now.

He took a deep breath as he activates his semblance. The color of his features began to fade out. The Destroyer her held onto began to have his colors fade out as well. Even its eyes began to lose their fiery glow. Soon, the creaking of metal ceased as it calmed down. His plan is working!

"Jaune, listen to me!" Ren pleaded. "This isn't you! It's the armor that's making you do this!"

He held his breath as he waited for a reaction. Finally, he heard his leader's voice. Devoid of the violent rage that the Destroyer put him through. It nearly brought a tear to his eye.

"Thank you, Ren," Jaune spoke. If it weren't for his semblance, Ren could swear that Jaune would be breaking down right about now. "I'm sorry…I…"

"Don't worry about it. It wasn't your fault…it's over now…" Ren said before looking to Thor. "Can you tell him how to get out of the armor now? I don't know how long I can keep this up.

Thor nodded before addressing Jaune. "Feel for the chest plate Jaune. Your arms and not the Destroyers. There lies an opening for you to get out."

From within the Destroyer, the shuffling of a body is heard. Then, the chest plate of the Destroyer opened. Out crawled a sweaty and pale Jaune Arc. He would've fallen face-first onto the ground if Iron Man hadn't caught him.

"Easy there, kid," Tony assured him as he sets him down. "I got you."

Jaune simply nodded before he drifted into the bliss of unconsciousness. Glad that their charge's life isn't in harm's way, they got down to business.

"Step back Stark," Thor said, moving forward. He spun his hammer, letting it spark with power. His eyes are filled with rage. "I shall destroy this monstrosity so that it doesn't claim another victim!"

It seemed like the appropriate thing to do. But just before he could proceed, the chest plate opening closed. Then the Destroyer moved. Everyone was taken aback when the Destroyer stood up. It stared down at them with its orange orbs.

"What's going on?" Ruby asked. "I thought that it can't move without a host!"

"The Destroyer isn't just armor…it's also a magical construct. Or as you mortals would call, an automaton," Thor said, holding Mjolnir at the ready. "It can move but only at the command of someone wielding Gungnir, my father's spear and the symbol of authority. But my father would never order the Destroyer to attack us and leave it lying around on Midgard. So, who is controlling it?"

"I don't think we'll get the chance to find out," Captain Marvel said, slamming a fist into an open palm. The heroes got ready to fight the Destroyer. This time, they are more than ready to destroy it.

But the Destroyer didn't attack them. Instead, it straightened itself up. From beneath its feet, flames erupted and began lifting it. To everyone's surprise, the Destroyer flew away from them. Everyone was silent at this unexpected turn of events as they watch it streak across the sky. The silence is broken by a wisecrack from Tony.

"Okay, let this be a lesson to you, Thor. The next time your father makes something destructive…make sure to add an emergency shutdown!"

"S.H.I.E.L.D. took possession of the Destroyer's remains after the incident at Puente Antiguo," Agent Coulson explains. "There wasn't much to go by after you messed it up, but we were able to glean the inner workings."

Coulson is talking with Thor at the Junkyard. S.H.I.E.L.D. came running as soon as they got word of the incident. Already they're covering up the battle. The owner of the Junkyard is being ordered to be kept silent under the threat of imprisonment. The children are undergoing medical examination by S.H.I.E.L.D. doctors. Despite the healing power of aura, they want to make sure that nothing was wrong with them. The Destroyer could've left lasting damage after all.

That was nothing compared to the sheer worry of the rest of their friends. Pyrrha was all over Jaune when she heard how he almost had his life sucked out of him by an Asgardian artifact. Ruby's team is glad that she's alright, each of them vowing to never let her out of her sight. Thor had a feeling that part of it involved the Flerken they are being sentenced to watch over.

As for the Destroyer, they lost track of it despite Stark's efforts. While the Asgardians had a disdain for mortal technology and science due to the horrors they create, it had its uses. But not even the Destroyer could evade it.

"That would explain that weapon I saw you with," Thor said, recalling a memory before the Chitauri invasion.

"We were pretty successful in developing a new weapon. It was made mostly with the Destroyers parts, making it the only one of its kind," Coulson explained. "But four days after the Chitauri Invasion, there was a break-in at the facility and the Destroyer remains were stolen."

"Stolen and restored it to its former self," Thor said grimly. "The Destroyer will be found and reduced back to slag. This I promise you son of Coul."

"But why would it turn up now?" Coulson asked.

"That is a question that only one can ponder," Thor said honestly. "Perhaps it is a way of letting us know that something is set in motion."

Thor's mind began to race as he recalled old foes that would love to get their hands on the Destroyer. Yet he kept seeing one face. A face that belonged to someone that he loved as a brother. There was only one other person who knew what is inside the vault to send the Destroyer to break in and steal it. A heist so calculated that it could only be conducted by him. He knew ways in and out of Asgard that not even Heimdall's gifts could reach.

"Do you think it could be him?" Coulson asked, already coming to the same conclusion as Thor.

"That would be a possibility," Thor said. "But he's been imprisoned after he invades Asgard and his short tyranny over the nine realms."

But somewhere in his mind, he knew that not even his punishment would keep the God of Mischief contained.

Beneath the ground of Midgard exists a jungle-like dimension. Tree roots descended from a green sky, twisting, and tangling with each other. It wasn't accessible to mortals and for good reason. For within dwells one of the most dangerous creatures in the nine realms. One that will play a crucial role in Ragnarök.

The Destroyer walked on solid ground in a straight path. It got here through one of the pathways between worlds. Only his master knew where they are, which is how he was able to get into Asgard and steal the treasures of Odin's Vault. And how it was able to escape from pursuit.

Eventually, it came to a stop, and took a knee. Leaning against a tree root is its master, a tall fair-skinned man. He is dressed in poison green light cloth with feathered shoulder accessories. His arms are wrapped in dark gray leather gauntlets and boots with feathered leggings. On his head is a golden helmet with curved horns. Green eyes gazed at the Destroyer with barely restrained joy.

"It's nice to see that the skeleton key is working so well," the man said, looking at a platinum-bladed scepter with a golden grip. A bluestone glowed at the center, radiating with power. This scepter acts as the substitute for Gungnir, making it the control rod for the Destroyer. He also watched as it fought against his brother and the mortals that he grew quite fond of.

"The Destroyer truly lives up to its name. Though…I never expected one of Thor's new pets to be able to calm the spirit within the armor," the man mused. "How curious…perhaps they've earned my attention."

"You would be wise to not be wary of mortals, Laufeyson," a female aristocratic voice spoke out. Walking towards him is an extremely beautiful woman with fair skin, green eyes, waist-length blonde hair. Her athletic physique is voluptuous with toned broad shoulders, buxom breasts, and long legs. Her attire consists of a skin-tight green outfit that left her shoulders bare, a matching mini skirt, green tight arm sleeves almost go up to her shoulders, black tights with green circles on the sides, and a green tiara. Her enchanting beauty would turn the hearts of men to mush, but the man is familiar with her charms.

Behind her is a huge man that always kept to her side. His hair is two black lines, and he had a horseshoe mustache. He wore Asgardian armor that left his arms bare, leather gloves, and leather boots. His bare arms bore white line tattoos. On his chest plate is a red double-headed ax. The man had a stoic expression that betrayed no hint of emotion.

"After all they were the reason that you lost the throne of Asgard, are they not?"

"Yes…I'm well aware of that Amora," Loki Laufeyson, the god of mischief, hissed between his teeth. "You reminded me of those countless times during my punishment. Now, do you have the stones?"

"I do. You provided quite the distraction to keep Thor occupied as expected of the Prince of Lies," Amora the Enchantress said. She held out her hand. In a flash of light, two gems appeared, hovering over it.

"Excellent," Loki said with a smile. "I'll admit, I never expected Karnilla to have made more than nine Norn Stones. Much less scatter them among Midgard. And to think that we barely scratched the surface of their power. How many do we have?"

"About twenty-four," Amora said. "While the Avengers have destroyed eight of them, we recovered enough for the ritual. Once they are placed in the proper sequence, we can break the Seal of Bor's Sons."

"I look forward to it," Loki said. He propped himself off the root. "If you'll excuse me, I must get back to my punishment. And Amora…you better give me the power you promised me."

"You forget who it was that saved you from your punishment," Amora reminded. "After all, it was you who told me of that pathway between worlds. I swear that you will get the power that you are promised Laufeyson."

Loki looked at her with a scrutinizing gaze. Then, he turned around and began walking away. Amora watched him leave until he disappeared. While she is no goddess of mischief, Amora knew her way around men. That was one of the reasons why she is called the Enchantress. She wasn't lying about the power she promised per se. After all, she has received firsthand from her benefactor despite his weakened state. That promise was enough to get Loki wrapped around her finger.

Once the nine realms are under his control, she'll find the man who sent her to that realm and thank him properly.

"Come Skurge. We must prepare," Amora said to her bodyguard. They began walking away when something occurred to her. "Oh, that's right…should we get your ax back? I just feel like I lost something without you wielding it."

Skurge only gave her a smile in response.

Greetings and Bienvenu readers.

To be honest, I was going to do a chapter starring Jaune Arc and move along team JNPR's roster. But as a reader, as pointed out, I've been jumping around the Marvelverse and it's confusing. Something I didn't intend. Therefore, I will get the story rolling and focused.

Now think of the previous chapters starring the individuals of team RWBY as premonitions to a Story Arc. For the first one, it's obvious that it will take Ruby and company on an adventure through the nine realms. I honestly have trouble deciding how to do it. But then I got an idea from a fellow fan of the EMH continuity.

As you can tell, Ruby and the JNPR members that makeup Team RNJR had a hair-raising encounter with the Destroyer. Which is being controlled by Thor's brother Loki, the god of mischief. I will tell you in three words that will describe the current story arc you are about to enter.

Ragnarök has begun.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed the chapter.

Until next time.
