Chapter 11: Ten Years Later
It had been 10 years since Izuku's adventures in the other world and accepted All-Might's offer to train him. The latter proved to be a tough and caring mentor. They started with simple, basic strength and cardio training but slowly built up to more intense exercises.
Izuku went from running laps around a track to running around a literal mansion. But what All-Might focused on the most was Izuku's strength training. For 4 years, the latter had been training with All-Might nearly every day and the results were fairly noticeable, gaining lean and powerful muscles and becoming the most physically strongest student in his middle school, even more than Katsuki...
Apart from training, Izuku spent his time researching and studying, particularly myths. He figured if he would meet other gods in the future, he would have to learn more about them. For the other 6 years, he read from his new book of Gods and Heroes, learning all about various deities from different pantheons and their different powers as well as his academic subjects.
During these years of training, Izuku had gotten a lot closer with Ochako. The bubbly brunette was practically inseparable, going with him nearly everywhere. The only place she didn't go with him was school, since she lived on the other side of town and her parents couldn't afford to send her to his school. It didn't stop her from being with him as much as possible, though.
Along with his study sessions, Ochako joined Izuku in his training sessions. She had decided at a young age that she would become a hero and help out with her family's financial troubles. Both Izuku and All-Might were more than happy to allow her to join in.
Right now, we find Izuku in Central Musutafu, sitting on a bench and writing down notes in his notebook. With a satisfied smile, he scribbled down a few new additions before he placed his notebook in his backpack.
He looked down and marveled at how much his body had changed over the years. "I can't believe it's been 10 years..." He thought. "All-Might's training is really paying off..." His eyes fell on his amulet and he thought about Athena.
"I've haven't heard from Athena from a while." He thought. "I wonder how's she's doing?" He sighed. "Wonder if I'll see her again." It was then he realized something. "If I can meet gods, will I also meet mythic heroes?" He wondered. "Heroes like Jason, Perseus and Hercules...?"
*Rumble...*
Izuku's thoughts were interrupted by loud rumbling, followed by crashing sounds in the distance. A grin spread across his face as he took off towards the commotion, knowing what the cause likely was. Skidding around a corner, Izuku spotted a fairly large crowd gathered outside a nearby station.
Almost instantly, he spotted a man with a monstrous appearance wreaking havoc at the station. Izuku's excitement only grew as he whipped out his notebook again, eager to take some new notes. His eyes widened in pure joy when he spotted the hero, Kamui Wood who was fighting the villain.
"All-Might introduced me to Kamui Wood once before, but I never had a chance to see him in action!" Izuku thought as he drew a couple of sketches. The crowd let out a flurry of cheers when Kamui's arm morphed into over a dozen razor-sharp spears and launched them at the villain. "Oh, that's an interesting quirk, really useful for long and close range."
"CANYON CANNON!"
Just then, the ground trembled once again. Looking up from his notebook, Izuku's eyes widened in surprise when a towering woman ran in and kicked the villain, sending him flying. She was a voluptuous woman who had purple eyes with white pupils and elegantly long eyelashes. She had long voluminous hair that reached down to her waist with two shorter strands curled to frame her face, parted slightly to the left.
Her hero costume was a purple and pale tan-colored skintight bodysuit, accented with orange stripes. She also had a pair of purple gloves with orange accents on the cuffs' edges. Her boots had a similar design, with a cut off the thighs in a deep-v shape.
The suit also had three orange diamond-shaped designs on the purple top located under her chest and she also wore a purple domino mask with horn-like protrusions on the sides. As for the villain, he was sent crashing into the wall and when the dust settled, he was unconscious.
"Wait...I recognize her..." Izuku thought, his eyes narrowed slightly as he tried to remember where he had seen the giantess before. "I know, All-Might and I ran into her once! She tried to make her debut as a hero and All-Might wanted to help her out, but ended up beating the villain by himself. She was really upset...I think her name is...Mt. Lady?"
"Today, I finally make my debut!" Mt. Lady exclaimed with a grin as she hoisted up the villain up by the leg and slapped restraints on him. "Pleased to meet you all! I'm Mt. Lady!" A few minutes later, the police arrived on the scent and Mt. Lady shrunk down to her normal size.
At once, she was quickly swarmed by the crowd and reporters as she handed over the villain to the police. Mt. Lady smiled brightly as she eagerly answered any questions the reporters had for her, taking the spotlight completely away from a dejected Kamui Wood.
However, as she basked in the crowd, she caught sight of a certain green-haired boy. "Gigantification...such a useful quirk" Izuku thought as he drew a quick sketch of Mt. Lady, adding several notes to the picture. "Although, the damage of public property might be a problem. I wonder if-"
"Oi!" Izuku was snapped out from his thoughts when someone suddenly shouted at his face and yanked the notebook from his hands. He looked up and was surprised to see Mt. Lady staring at him with an annoyed look on her face. "I know you, kid. You were with All-Might when he ruined my last debut."
"Y-Yeah...he's really sorry about that." Izuku replied nervously as he rubbed the back of his head. "He was just trying to help you out, but he kinda went overboard." "That's for sure." Mt. Lady sighed lightly as she shrugged her shoulders. "Anyway, what are you standing her and muttering to yourself, kid? Shouldn't you be in school?"
"I was actually on my way there right now, but I heard the commotion." Izuku replied, his face flushed in embarrassment. "I figured it would be a good chance to take a few notes." "Notes?" Mt. Lady asked in confusion, looking at the notebook in her hands.
Growing curious, she began to scan through the pages. After each new page, her eyes slowly widened. Every page she saw was completely filled with, packed filled with detailed pictures, theories and observations. She was even more surprised to when she got what seemed to be her own page.
In only a few short minutes, this kid had written dozens of ways to utilize and possibly strengthen her quirk, even coming up with possible additions to her costume to improve her it. "Kid...did you seriously do all this?" She asked.
"Yes, it's part of my training." Izuku replied as he smiled, tightly gripping the straps on his backpack. "I need to learn everything about being an amazing hero, kinda like you!" "The way you came in and defeated that villain was so awesome!" He added.
"Amazing!" Mt. Lady exclaimed, hiding her blushing face behind Izuku's face, feeling her pride swell tremendously. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she handed Izuku back his notebook. "So, you want to be a hero, eh?" She asked with a wry smile. "What's your quirk?"
"I...I don't have one yet..." Izuku replied as he slipped the notebook back into his backpack. Talking about being quirkless used to depress him, but now it filled him with determination. "But, I don't need a quirk to be a hero!"
"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Mt. Lady asked in confusion, quirking an eyebrow. "All heroes need a quirk." "You'll find out soon enough!" Izuku replied confidently. "I really should be getting back to school! Good luck with your hero work!"
"Hold on!" Mt. Lady exclaimed, reaching out and grabbing Izuku's shoulder before he could run off. "Just one more thing...what's your name, kid?" "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Izuku Midoriya!" The latter replied with a smile before he ran off again. "I gotta get going! See ya around, Mt. Lady!"
"Izuku Midoriya..." Mt. Lady muttered as she watched the young boy dash around the corner, a smile growing on her face. "I don't know why...but I've got a good feeling about this kid..."
