ADAS KALLIG

Do you sometimes look back at your life and think that the younger you was a colossal idiot?

I do.

Not that there is anything else to do while being buried alive for thousands of years.

In a way, it's quite an impressive story. I began as a slave, captured and brought to the Korriban to either become sith acolyte or die trying. I was actually able to impress Darth Zash, a powerful sith interested in my potential. Well, not really, she just wanted to possess my body for her own ends, tricking me into helping me into helping her prepare the ritual. But she was really nice about it, so I don't really hold it against her, especially with how her attempt ended. Let's just say that after the ritual ended, she would never be able to pull off wearing her robe as well as she did before.

After that things got interesting. I finally became the sith lord, pissing off that asshole Thanaton. Then I got my two adorable apprentices: Xalek and Ashara. They were like small children, constantly trying to impress me and asking me questions, they were just so cute. Technically Ashara wasn't my apprentice though. Padawan would be closer, but I doubt the Jedi council would be happy about the things we did together. Then again, there was that story about Barsen'thor and her padawan so who knows. Not that it mattered, as the jedi council wasn't exactly happy about a jedi padawan following a sith lord either way, so it's a moot point.

Damn, now that I think about it, things got really awkward after I started dating Lana. Ashara told me that it was okay, and we were able to work together as friends, but still. Awkward...

.

.

Hm? O, Right. Being a Sith. So I became a Sith, got my apprentices and then I had to fight against Thanaton and his goons. It wasn't that interesting, though I once used zoo animals to take down Thanaton's forces, so I wouldn't say that it was completely boring. I couldn't say the same about my duel with Thanaton. Guy wasn't able to hurt me, even with his strongest attacks, so he decided to start begging the dark council to help him. Predictably it ended with him killed for his weakness by his colleagues and me becoming the councillor. Because that's how career advancement works in this beautiful corporation known as a sith empire.

Not long after that I defeated Revan. Well, there were other people there, but I swear it was me who did all the work, no matter what the others might say. It's a long story and I won't bore you with it, but there is one detail I must mention, as it will be important later. One of the locations I visited during the hunt for Revan was Rishi. Remember that name for later.

After defeating Revan, I was put into a carbonite-induced coma for five years (again, a long story). The very moment I awakened I was named outlander and made a commander of the newly created group known as alliance by my very obsessive and highly competent girlfriend. I wasn't even asked if it's something I wanted, everyone just went with it. Word of advice, If the organisation you lead chose you just because you got your ass kicked and put to sleep for years, it might not be a good sign. You should probably run away as fast as you can.

I didn't do something like that though. Firstly because, well, I won't lie, I want power. Power is great after all. It lets you do anything you want. You want to make your enemies scream? Sure, go ahead. You want to build an orphanage? Whatever, do it if that's your fancy. It doesn't matter what your desire is. The only thing that matters is you being able to do whatever you want. Freedom is the most important thing you can achieve and the worst thing you can lose. When you are free, you can do anything. There is a reason for the code of the Sith to end with 'through victory my chains are broken, the force shall free me', you know?

But where was I? O, yes. The second reason was that fucking asshole valkorion who put himself in my head, trying to possess me. He wanted me to defeat his empire (again, long story) and become a new emperor. Then he would take over my body of course, because why not? Fortunately I was able to resist him, kick his ass and become the emperor as myself...

...then I lost the throne in a year, but whatever. I just joined the sith empire again, though only as an ally. It's not like joining it fully would give me some great benefits and being the dark councillor didn't mean the same thing as before. It was better to just do my own thing and only sometimes help the empire with conquering some planet or two.

After all that, you would probably think: 'Alas, what are you talking about? Everything you just said was great. Why would you think of yourself as an idiot?'

That's easy. Fucking Reshi.

Like I said before, it was one of the places I visited while looking for Revan, spending weeks fighting his allies and finding valuable intel. And when you stay in one place for long, you start to get bored. So when Talos Drellik, my friend/minion, told me about an old dark side artifact worth investigating, I said 'why no? It's not like I have something other to do'

That was a fucking mistake. Because you see, that artifact granted me immortality. And let me tell you, It isn't as great as it sounds. Because of course there was a catch. It didn,t stop aging, it would be too easy. Without anything suspicious happening, I grew older and older, forgetting about the ritual after a while. But when I died from old age (great achievement for a sith by the way), my loyal minions wanted to bury me with honors, to reward me for my great achievements. They created a powerful artifact, a sarcophagus meant to protect my body from desecration. It also stopped any influence from outside the tomb from reaching and manipulating it. You know, so that no power hungry sith would come to bind my spirit or something like that.

And here's the kicker. My immortality works by absorbing the surrounding force. I was partially brought back by the force in the tomb, but by the time I was back from the dead, the tomb was already sealed and I couldn't absorb more force, as the tomb was cut off from the rest of the planet. The worst thing is, Odessen is a force nexus. So if I was able to exit the tomb, I would resurrect in an instant. Life is funny like that.

So here I was, buried under some mountain, partially resurrected but unable to move. The only blessing was that I was already quite mad before my death, so thousands of years of isolation wasn't that big of a certainly beat having a psychotic tenant in your mind, constantly screaming about being above good and evil or similar garbage.

With nothing to do, the only thing I was able to do was experiment with my force powers, meager as they were. But the only thing I was able to achieve was creating a weak spectre, which let me see what was going on outside. Surprise, surprise, there was nothing going on outside as Odessen was abandoned after my death. Additionally the technique was really draining for me, so that power might have been a huge waste of time.

I was distracted from my millenia long boredom by the activity outside of the tomb. With my powers weakened I wasn't able to sense much, but it was some unknown group that landed close to my was the happiest I have been for centuries. Finally I would be able to leave this shithole. But after the first moment of excitement passed, I noticed one small problem. None of them were force sensitive. No matter how hard I tried to communicate with them, they wouldn't hear me, only moving around, doing who knows what. So the only action I could take was to wait, hoping they would find my tomb...

That was hidden under the mountain, almost invisible from outside...

Fuck.

Fortunately, the other group came around two weeks after the first one. And blessed be the force, they were having two force-sensitive people with them. Excited, I sent my spectre to observe them and maybe ask for their help. After getting the feeling of their power and deciding that the risk of showing myself was worth it, I decided to talk to the smaller one, probably a padawan/apprentice. I don't know what's wrong with the bigger one, but I felt a ton of red lights lighting up while looking at him. There was something off about him in the force. It felt a little too close to Revan for my taste. That's why I decided to speak to the smaller one, it was just less risky.. Informing her about my location wasn't even that hard. I just stopped by the Gate, pinged her with my force and waited for her to come to me. Then I just sent her visions of my tomb and left without a fuss. She would probably be able to find it with it. If not, I will just visit her again, giving her additional instructions.

I don't know what she was thankful for though. It was she who would do me a huge favor by freeing me. Kids are weird.

Whatever, what matters the most is that I will be free soon, thanks to that fortunate encounter! I can't wait to see the galaxy again. I Wonder if the Sith empire is still around? I could probably find a job there.
