Author's notes:

Hello, my lovely readers! I bring you another chapter, and this one is packed with action, as the name of the episode implies! This one took me a fair bit of time to put out, as I was never truly in love with how things turned out, but as of now, I'm content with this chapter. It has some plotlines being developed and tested, so if you guys start to recognize some patterns here and there, good eye!

I consider this to be one of the hardest chapters to write of the initial 13 episodes, mostly because it is so reliant on your storytelling abilities! If you don't have the mojo, translating the matches into words becomes stale, and sadly that's how I felt in the first two rough drafts of the chapter... Nonetheless, I hope you all have an awesome time reading it!

I also want to take some time to respond to the reviews left by some amazing readers of mine. Seriously, you guys rock! I couldn't be here without your support!

Gucci Mane LaFlare: I know! Seeing Owen being booted super early is odd for a guy who's made the merge in every season he was in! But I'm glad it made sense! Also, Crimson (the Goths in general) are super fun to write because you can explore their deadpan humor all the time. Indeed there are a few planned couples! And you know that with couples, comes drama! Thank you once again for reading this!

And once again, thank you all who've read it this far! It doesn't matter if there aren't a lot of favorites, reviews, or follows, so long I know that there are people out there that still follow the fanfic's development fills my heart with pride and joy! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Episode 4: Dodgebrawl

"Last time on Total Drama Island, the Screaming Gophers kicked butt in the Awake-A-Thon, with Harold trying to sneak a few Z's mid-bathroom breaks. And the Killer Bass took their first loss. Just how the cookie crumbles. Alejandro orchestrated the first ever Total Drama alliance, but without even mentioning it to the third member. He used his guiles to trick Brick into thinking he was a friend, and his charm to convince Amy to join forces." Chris recapped the events of the last episode. "Some campers found themselves falling for others." A shot of Sammy and Devin, and Trent and Kitty being close. "Some campers found themselves falling face first into the ground." Now several shots showed the campers falling asleep and hitting the ground, especially Crimson who was the last Bass awake.

"Despite their loss, the Bass reunited themselves as best as they could to send one of their own members home. In the end, it was Owen, the fart machine, who got the boot for not being of any help and receiving the aforementioned moniker, who took the boat of losers." Owen was shown farting, falling asleep, burping, and passing out mid-race. "Who'll be the next target of the campers? Will Mickey and Crimson be functional until the end of the episode? And who'll take the next humiliating walk down the dock of shame? Stay tuned, for the most dramatic campfire ceremony yet, on Total… Drama… Island!"

Introduction Song

A shot of the main lodge was shown, where nearly all of the campers stood waiting for something important to happen. Most of the Gophers seemed fine, but the Bass all looked like they had to endure another Awake-A-Thon. Chris decided to test the waters. "Courtney, you good? You look like you haven't slept ever since the last challenge."

Courtney raised her head from the table and clarified. "Harold snored all night." Chris, in his fashion, laughed at the poor sleep-deprived teens. "Ha! Two whole nights back to back with no sleep? You'd think we were doing this on purpose." Just as he said that the doors of the main lodge were opened, and there stood Harold himself, but something was amiss. He began walking towards his table, but without letting the camera see his face, unknowingly to himself, he lacked a very important part of his face.

As he walked by, most campers snickered at his obliviousness, not realizing what the cause of that was, he took a seat. When he finally asked what the laughing matter was, the camera finally took a peek at his eyebrows, or rather, lack thereof. With the full shot, pretty much everyone, including Chef and Chris barked out laughs at him. "What?! Who did this?" He looked around his table, trying to pinpoint the culprit. When no one responded and kept laughing, he sat back down and began to eat his food again. Scarlett and Courtney silently clapped hands as their payback went off without a hitch.

Harold - Confessional (6)

"Man, I help my team win and this is what I get?" Harold glares at the camera. "So what that I snore a bit? It's a medical condition, gosh!"

Harold - Confessional - End (6)

Cameron - Confessional (4)

Cameron was looking ashamed due to what happened, clearly feeling uncomfortable. "I… I don't know if Courtney and Scarlett being together is such a good thing… It seemed like they were good influences, but that prank they pulled on Harold? For snoring? Isn't that a little too far…?" Cameron frowned at the camera.

Cameron - Confessional - End (4)

Walking through the door, Mickey and Crimson made their way to their respective tables, clearly still dazed from the straight day without sleeping. "And here's the winner of the Awake-A-Thon! Mickey!" Mickey just kept walking as his peers cheered him on, happy and surprised to see someone like him winning their first challenge.

"I'm glad I was there to encourage him, he needed all of the help he could get," Alejandro spoke with Bridgette, who smiled but kept it to herself. "I'm sure it helped, but at the end of the day it was his own resolution that got us the victory," Bridgette replied neutrally, but soon turned her back to the casanova and went back to eating her breakfast. The sudden attitude from the surfer made Alejandro wonder if he had messed things up somehow.

Bridgette - Confessional (3)

"I know that the mature thing to do would be to go talk to Alejandro and clarify things… But at the same time, I don't want to subject myself to the humiliation of taking things too seriously. I guess I'll have to avoid him, or at least lower my enthusiasm."

Bridgette - Confessional - End (3)

When Mickey finally set down between Brick and Bridgette, he could barely get two words in before he slammed face-first into the table. Some of the campers close to him recoiled from the smack, but soon they heard soft snoring. At least he was still alive.

"LeShawna, did you see who's missing on the Bass?" Kitty whispered to her. "Huh? Who- Oh. So they eliminated him. Good for them. I think that boy was producing more methane than those oil companies." LeShawna laughed at the prospect with her friend. "Then again, I'm not sure who else could have gone home. They seemed kinda tight, unlike our team."

LeShawna - Confessional (2)

"Now, I'm not one to be trash-talking about my own team, but so far, we are not doing too hot." LeShawna started and raised her hands. "Alejandro may be strong and smart, but I see the way he was toying with Bridgette and the twins. Amy is a brat, Bridgette is too passive, and Brick seems to need someone telling him what to do, or else. I love Kitty to death from this week I spent with her, but she's definitely a little bit boy-crazy, I'm too brash sometimes, Mickey is a little twig, Sammy has the spine of an invertebrate, Shawn is a nutcase and Trent is probably the most normal we can get here." With each name, she raised a finger. Unbeknownst to her, someone was recording everything she just said. "I just hope it ain't me next time we lose…"

LeShawna - Confessional - End (2)

Tammy turned to Sam, who was finally getting used to not having a console in his hands. "Hey, Sam. Would you agree it was a wise decision to eliminate Owen?" The LARPer asked her friend. "I mean, I think so? Owen never really did much, and he always did something gross when we were together. Why do you ask?" Sam replied.

"Oh, nothing, nothing… I was just wondering since we didn't hear an optimistic voice booming out as we woke up. Is it bad that I wished he hadn't been the one kicked off?" Tammy inquired, with a slight frown.

"Wait, does that mean that…" He began to whisper the last bit, not wanting to be caught. "Did you… did you not vote for him?" He asked with a surprised expression etching his face.

"Well… No, I didn't…" Tammy continued, also whispering. "I voted for you-know-who." The camera then changed to focus on Scarlett, who was writing something down on her clipboard and taking small bites from her grub. "Woah, did you?! I was trying to think who would have done that, but I guess everyone has their reasons…" Sam replied, lowering his eyes. "Just please make sure not to mention it. The last thing I need is someone thinking I orchestrated anything…"

Sam - Confessional (2)

"I know Scarlett isn't the biggest social butterfly in our team, but to think the others almost got her voted off? Damn, I guess I should have paid more attention to my surroundings." Sam concluded. "Maybe this time around I'll see who's getting the boot.

Sam - Confessional - End (2)

Before more chatter began, Chris walked to the middle of the room, clapping his hands to grab everyone's attention. "OK, campers. listen up. Your next challenge begins in ten minutes. And be prepared to bring it."

The next scene showed a randomly placed sports court, with clear, transparent walls. On both sides, there were benches, presumably where the teams would sit, given their respective team flags above their heads. Alongside them, there was also a high chair, the one that referees use to accompany and judge the game.

All campers, minus Crimson, who was still arriving, were gathered inside of the court, with Chris and Chef, who was dressed as a referee, ready to explain the rules of the challenge. Once Crimson entered the court, she slumped into the bench and dozed off. Most of the Killer Bass agreed not to bother her, but a certain C.I.T. was not liking her behavior one bit.

Courtney - Confessional (4)

Courtney fixed the camera with a piercing glare. "I know that it's only fair Crimson gets some well-deserved sleep, since how much she held out last challenge. But this is getting ridiculous. She can't just sleep out every challenge she wants and expect us to not eliminate her. What are we, her servants?" Courtney fumed, not realizing how nasty she sounded.

Courtney - Confessional - End (4)

Once they all simmered down, Chef blew his whistle. Chris took the signal to begin speaking and explaining the rules. "Today's challenge is the classic game of Dodgeball. The first rule of dodgeball is…" Chris started, hoping someone would finish it. "Dodge the ball?" Kitty tried, earning some giggles from her teammates. "As I was saying… If you get hit with the ball…" With that, he threw his ball at an unsuspecting Sammy, who barely even caught it. "Ouch, what the heck, Chris." She complained. "You're out! If you catch the ball, the person who threw the ball is out, and you get to bring back in a fellow teammate."

Scarlett slightly scoffed at the challenge. "Throwing balls. How innovating, Chris. What's next, arts and crafts with macaroni?" She raised an eyebrow, earning a few snickers from Cameron. Chris decidedly ignored that, preferring to carry on with the explanation.

He then threw his ball at Devin, who caught it and smiled at the prospect of physical activity. "OK now, Devin, try and hit me!" Before he did that, Chef threw him another ball. "If you're holding a ball, you can use it to deflect a ball, BUT, if it knocks the ball out of your hands, you're out!" As Devin threw his ball, Chris deflected it and hit Sammy again, by accident. "You were supposed to dodge!" Amy snorted at the scene but preferred to stay silent.

Devin - Confessional (3)

Gasp "I can't believe I accidentally hit Sammy! I hope she doesn't hold this against me!" Devin was wide-eyed, staring at the camera. "I think I would hate myself if she started to hate me." The hunk declared, agitation permeating his voice.

Devin - Confessional - End (3)

After quickly checking up with Sammy, Devin went back to his team, but not before Scarlett saw the exchange.

Scarlett - Confessional (6)

"Devin and Geoff's swinging allegiance is something that concerns me. On one hand, it means that they'll do anything they can to preserve those relationships, on the other hand, they may purposefully lose challenges in order to secure their little girlfriends staying in the game… I'll make sure to pay extra attention to them." Scarlett seethed in her seat.

Scarlett - Confessional - End (6)

"Both teams will start with 6 players on the court. As they get hit and come back into the game, they'll be rotating throughout the sitting players. Decide on your first six and position yourselves. You've got 5 minutes to decide."

On the Gopher's side, all ten members began to discuss who are their best physical assets for the game. "So, I say we leave some of our strongest ones sitting on the bench, in case things get bad we can surprise them with a comeback," Shawn suggested, eyeing some of the other campers. "But if we brought out all of our best players, we'd technically not be in a pickle ever, right? No offense, but they aren't exactly all sports-heavy." Trent pointed out.

"Trent raises a good point, but Shawn's strategy still makes sense. I think that if we integrate both of them at the same time we prepare ourselves for both the best case and worst case scenario." Kitty agreed with both of their lines of thinking, shooting a quick smile toward Trent.

"Right, which means we need to pick six out of ten. Who wants to sit out?" Amy asked, directing her team to the focal point. "I think we can all agree Mickey isn't going to be any help for this challenge, not with how he is right now." The camera panned over to show Mickey passed out and grumbling on the bench. "So, three more people need to sit out."

Since no one else spoke, Bridgette raised her hand. "I'll do it. I'm not really good at this game anyway, but I'll be cheering you guys on." After she said that, she sat next to Mickey. "I'll do it too, following Shawn's plan may be a good idea," Alejandro stated and took a seat on the opposite end. "Great, we're only missing one," LeShawna said. Amy raised her hand, but contrary to what people were expecting she offered Sammy to sit out.

"Wait, what? You can't sit someone else out. What if I wanna play?" Sammy asked in contempt. "I'm only thinking about you, sis. Didn't you get hit by the ball in your face? You should probably rest." Amy clarified, with a small smile. "Oh… I guess you're right…" Sammy conceded as she plopped behind Bridgette.

Sammy - Confessional (3)

"I can't believe Amy was looking out for me for once!" Sammy exclaimed with glee in her voice. "Maybe she finally realized she was wrong by treating me that way for so long." She smiled to herself, clearly absorbed by her own optimism.

Sammy - Confessional - End (3)

Amy - Confessional (4)

"What, that? Pfft, as if I was looking out for her. The only reason I did that was so Samey didn't screw our chances of winning. And in case we do lose, we have the perfect voting fodder." Amy smirked as she filed her nails.

Amy - Confessional - End (4)

On the Bass side, things were going decently well too. "Well, I, for one, would like to sit this one out. Physical challenges aren't my forte, but I'll be here in case I get called in." Scarlett declared as she sat down. "Anyone else besides Crimson and I wish to sit this one out?" Cameron quickly raised his hand, sighing in relief when she made way for him.

"All right, one more team. Who doesn't feel like playing?" Courtney asked as both Sam and Dawn raised their hands. "Oh, two of you, huh? Well, decide between each other, we don't have much time."

Dawn turned to Sam and made her case. "Oh, Samuel, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you didn't wish to play. The only reason I prefer not to partake in this challenge is that it is very violent." Dawn smiled at him. "Uh, I guess I see your point. I'll play this round then…" Sam conceded with a slight frown, but still agreed to play.

As both teams settled, all twelve players walked to the court. The Gophers had Amy, Brick, Kitty, LeShawna, Shawn, and Trent. The Bass had Courtney, Devin, Geoff, Harold, Sam, and Tammy for theirs.

Chef blew his whistle and the game began. Brick, Shawn, Courtney, and Harold all managed to get balls.

Brick started throwing his ball at Sam, but he managed to dodge it at the last second. Courtney threw hers at Trent, who got hit and had to sit out. LeShawna picked up the ball that got Trent out and aimed for Harold, who managed to deflect the ball but dropped his own ball nonetheless.

The score was 5-5, and the Bass held 3 balls versus the Gophers only had one. Shawn threw his ball at Geoff who didn't quite manage to dodge but was soon taken out by Devin who threw one right back at him. Sam threw his ball at Kitty, but she managed to catch it, despite the throw being fairly tricky. Sam got out and Bridgette got in.

Soon, many shots were traded between teams, leaving only Devin and Courtney vs. Amy and Shawn. Amy threw her ball at Devin, who managed to deflect it, but he didn't manage to hit her back with his own. Courtney threw hers at Shawn, but the nutcase stopped it in midair and eliminated her. As Courtney stomped off the court, Sammy was reeled in. But before she could make any more progress, Devin threw a ball at Amy, but the twin side stepped and the ball hit Sammy at the back of her head, getting her out.

From the sudden hit Sammy took, Devin stopped paying attention, wanting to come close and expect any possible injuries. Shawn took that opening to get him out of the game, winning the Gophers their first round.

Before Devin could come to talk to Sammy, Scarlett grabbed him by his collar and chastised him. "Are you insane? Your little stunt just lost us the first game." Scarlett hissed, making sure he knew what she thought of it. He widened his eyes and realized what she had meant. "Wait, that's not what it looks like!" But before he could protest she was already looking smug. "What, do you want me to tell the team you threw this round for the sake of your little girlfriend? If not, then you better get your act together and fast!" Scarlett snarled and let go of him.

"God damn, it. Get your act together, Devin…" He shook his head, stopping himself from sending Sammy a look.

Sammy - Confessional (4)

"I get that the point of the game is to throw those rubber balls at each other, but going for the face is a low blow," Sammy commented, rubbing her own temple. "I guess I'm a little sad that Devin took me out so easily. He didn't even bother checking in on me…" She finished with a frown.

Sammy - Confessional - End (4)

"Devin dude, that was one sick throw at the end. But are you sure she's gonna be fine? That's like, the second time you hit her today." Geoff advised his friend, knowing his situation with Sammy wasn't exactly solely amicable.

"I need to get my head on the game, Geoff. We lost the round because of ME. I can't let her distract me or else I'll be getting voted off… So from here on out, I'll focus solely on winning." As Devin steeled his face, Geoff couldn't help but feel bad about his friend's conundrum. Suddenly, Geoff realized the same thing had happened to him with Bridgette, and a specific someone had given him "advice".

Geoff - Confessional (4)

Geoff wore a frown on his face, displeased at what he realized. "You know, when the game began, I actually liked Scarlett. A little uptight, but she was only looking out for the team. But now? It almost feels like she's purposefully being tyrannical for the heck of it. Not cool, dude." Geoff crossed his arm and turned his head.

Geoff - Confessional - End (4)

"Well, we almost won, but somehow they pulled off the win. We need to step up our game, people!" Courtney slammed her fist against her hand, clearly annoyed by their loss. "We have some good players on our side, but if we lack strategy, they'll tear through us again." She then looked at her brainiac friend. "Scar, do you have any plans?" Scarlett's eye twitched a little at the username, but she spoke anyway.

"Not currently, but I'm developing something as you play. I still need to calculate a few more things. Try your best to win, and if we lose the next round, I'll have gathered enough data. Now, off you go." She replied, not even raising her head to address Courtney properly. That, in turn, made Courtney seeth a little, but she did it anyway.

"All right, that means we need six again. Dawn, this time you're in, Sam, you're sitting out." The moonchild sighed but got up anyway. Starting arguments right now would result in nothing but their downfall. "Let's go, Bass. We need to show those stupid Gophers what we're made of!" Unbeknownst to her, some of her teammates looked at her and Scarlett in another light.

Tammy - Confessional (4)

"I know that Scarlett and Courtney have the best intentions when helping out the team, but sometimes it feels like we're not even part of the team. They just make decisions and inform us of them afterward." The LARPer shook her head.

Tammy - Confessional - End (4)

On the Gopher's side, Sammy raised her hand, indicating she wanted to actually participate this time, given the last round she got hit as soon as she entered the court. Amy was about to shut her down but zipped her mouth. "All right, if Samey is going in, I'm sitting this one out. Anyone else wants to switch up?" Alejandro went in, alongside Bridgette, while LeShawna and Brick sat down. Both Mickey and Crimson were still sleeping soundly.

As the teams readied themselves, both had a good opportunity to see their adversaries. It was Alejandro, Bridgette, Kitty, Sammy, Shawn, and Trent vs. Courtney, Dawn, Devin, Geoff, Harold, and Tammy. Once again, Chef blew his whistle and the teams ran forward. Courtney and Dawn grabbed them, while Kitty and Trent did too. Dawn attempted to throw her ball, but it barely even bounced. She quickly scurried off from the line of sight while Courtney rolled her eyes.

Trent threw his ball at Devin, but it was caught by the jock, who brought it back in Cameron. Geoff got one of Devin's extra balls and hurled at Alejandro, who managed to dodge but grabbed it shortly after. Kitty threw hers at Dawn, who only barely dodged it before Devin took her out. Courtney aimed for Sammy, who dodged it, but before she could fully escape, Devin had thrown his own ball at her. Again. The third time in this challenge. Sammy sat back down and avoided looking at Devin. Noticing how their numbers were dwindling down, Alejandro grabbed a ball and took out Cameron, while also grabbing Harold's.

Bringing Amy in, she dodged Tammy's ball and threw hers at Courtney. The C.I.T. was hit, but Geoff managed to dive and catch it before it fell, eliminating Amy again and bringing in Scarlett. The brainiac hid behind Harold and Tammy, using them as shields. Shawn grabbed Geoff's ball and brought in LeShawna. Bridgette threw hers at Devin, who dodged and retaliated, taking the surfer out. LeShawna managed to hit Courtney while dodging Tammy's.

After so many exchanged shots, the player sides were like this:

Alejandro, Shawn, and LeShawna vs. Tammy, Scarlett, Devin, and Dawn.

Dawn was removed by Shawn, while LeShawna took out Tammy. Devin attempted to save Scarlett, but it was too late and she got hit. Now, 3 vs.1, Devin had not much room for a riposte, getting quickly bombarded.

Trent - Confessional (3)

"I gotta say, I'm impressed with our team. Not that I think we couldn't do it, but seeing someone as smug as Scarlett being hit by rubber balls feels kinda nice, especially after what she did to Kitty." Trent admitted with a small smile.

Trent - Confessional - End (3)

The Gophers cheered at their 2nd victory in a row. The Bass, on the other hand…

"What even happened? We were doing so well! At some point, we had a 7 vs. 4 on the field, and suddenly we lost. Ugh, this sucks." Courtney complained. "Scarlett, you got enough 'data'?" She asked hopefully.

The genius smirked at her companion and began explaining who had to participate and who was sitting out.

The Gophers were shown once again changing their teams.

In the next set, the teams were: Alejandro, Amy, Brick, LeShawna, Shawn, and Trent for the Gophers. Courtney, Devin, Geoff, Harold, Scarlett, and Tammy for the Bass. Soon, Chef blew his whistle and the game began, with only Gophers grabbing balls. The Bass looked at each other and nodded when Scarlett nodded back. Soon, Brick threw his ball at Harold, but Geoff dived in to catch the ball. LeShawna threw hers at Courtney, but Geoff's new ball was used to deflect it. Alejandro threw him at Scarlett, but Devin pulled her out of the way and it missed. Whereas Amy threw hers at Tammy who managed to catch it. Both Cameron and Sam went in. Now, with double the amount of players in the court, the Bass gathered all balls and began their barrage. First, they took out Alejandro, then Shawn, then Trent, and finally LeShawna. It was a clean 8-0 sweep for the Bass.

The Gophers all looked startled by the humiliating loss, whereas the Bass cheered for their plan to work correctly.

Sam - Confessional (3)

"Oh man, I thought ours was on the line this episode. Luckily, Scarlett came up with this super good plan. I'm glad we didn't vote her out!" Sam explained with glee. "I bet they'd have gotten ridden of me this episode, had she not been here…"

Sam - Confessional - End (3)

Chris, who sported a massive grin on his face, laughed at the Gopher's loss. "Gophers, what was that?! You guys were having such an easy time in the first two rounds, but now you've lost miserably? That is so rich, haha." Chris laughed so hard he had to clutch his stomach, so as to not bend over and fall. "Also, we're taking a 10 minutes break, in case you want to unwind and take bathroom breaks and whatnot. I personally wouldn't add a break right now, since you're all pretty filled with adrenaline from the games, but production said so. Meet everyone back in the court then. Those who do not appear in time will be penalized…"

As all campers scurried off in different directions, Tammy and Harold went to talk to Scarlett about her strategy. "Wow, Scarlett. Your strategy was incredibly successful! We shall win the next games, I'm sure of it!" Tammy clapped her hands at the prospect.

"Yeah, you got some mad skills on you." Harold nodded. Dawn, hearing the conversation, approached the trio. "I agree, Scarlett really helped us win. But… If I may, I would like to talk to her alone." Dawn explained with a soft smile on her face. Both geeks then walked off, letting the two girls speak in private.

"How could I help you, Dawn?" Scarlett asked with a raised eyebrow, clearly surprised about the sudden request to speak to each other in private. "Oh, nothing much. I just wanted to try my best to understand what troubles you." That answer made Scarlett become even more confused.

"What? I'm sorry, I don't follow." Scarlett shook her head, clearly still not understanding the blonde's purpose here. "Scarlett, the trees spoke to me. They showed me you have a great deal of turmoil inside of you, and I thought I could extend my sincerest help to you. Perhaps some meditation?" Dawn asked.

Scarlett's eyes bugged out of their sockets, "T-The trees?! Haha… What on earth are you blabbering about?" Scarlett tried her best not to let Dawn get a clue, but being nervous, she was only making herself appear more suspicious. "I gotta go, I need to calculate a few more things for the next game. I'll speak to you later, Dawn." Scarlett then took off in the opposite direction they were going.

Dawn - Confessional (3)

Dawn pursed her lips as she sat crisscrossed in the confessional. "I think that could have gone better…" She pouted a bit. "But I can't be pushy… If she won't listen to reason, I'll have to do the best for the team."

Dawn - Confessional - End (3)

Scarlett - Confessional (7)

She twitched in the confessional, and she was harshly gripping her clipboard. "What is that hippie, tree-hugging, walking corpse think she's doing? I'll let everyone know from the get-to-go, right here, right now, I. AM. PERFECTLY. FINE." Scarlett's face grew deranged with each word, but she soon realized what was going on and quickly fixed her hair and clothes. "I mean, I'm fine. I appreciate her concern, but I'll do just… fine." In the end, her eye slightly twitched, but she maintained that facade.

Scarlett - Confessional - End (7)

Sammy had decided to take a walk towards the infirmary that was set nearby. All the shots she took to the head were seriously giving her a migraine, but she also wanted to stay alone for a while. She thought she and Devin were friends after the last challenge, they played 20 questions, and they stood in that comforting silence, she even thought they could have been something a little bit more… But it's like Amy always reminds her, she's always the inferior twin, and that isn't going to change suddenly.

Sammy found the ice from the infirmary and began pressing against her bump in the head, as she sat on the couch. "Maybe she's right… maybe I'm really not meant to have any friends…" She cried a little, but not too loudly to announce her presence to anyone else who may enter.

Kitty on the other hand just went out of the bathroom, when she tried to grab her phone but noticed it was missing. "Wait, what?" She hurriedly went to her cabin in order to look for it, only to find Amy sitting in one of the beds as she applied her lipstick again.

"Where… is… it…!" As Kitty began to shuffle through her bag, Amy stood up and quietly left, knowing exactly what Kitty was missing, but giving her no insight on the matter. Pretending to be clueless about her problems would benefit her much more than pretending to be a saint.

"No, no, no. Where the heck is it?! I had it in me just last night! Someone must have gone through my things!" Before Kitty went to look for it in the other girl's bags, she reminded herself of how bad that could look for her. Especially if she had forgotten it someplace else. Accusing others of being thieves is very grave, so she decided to go back to the court before their time ran out.

Kitty - Confessional (4)

"Aw, man. I need my phone. I've taken more than 25k pictures with it, selfies, and other pictures. I can't have lost it here!" Kitty cried out gripping her pigtails. "Emma is going to kill me if she finds out I lost it!" As realization dawned on her, she put a nervous smile towards the camera, remembering this was going to be aired. "Hi, Emma…"

Kitty - Confessional - End (4)

As the 15 minutes break finally ended, all the campers were back at the court, although some were wondering why Sammy had a bag of ice against her head. Devin looked at her out of instinct and quickly winced at the image of the cute cheerleader with such ugly bumps on her image. "All right, campers! Your fifteen minutes break is over, time to get back to dodging! Figure out the next twelve players and position yourselves." Chris announced to the twenty-teens.

"Could I sit this one out? I'm not feeling too great…" Sammy moaned at the bench. Mickey, who had finally woken up, looked at her and asked if she was alright. The twin nodded and smiled a bit before she hung her head again.

"Could I play? I know that I'm not the best, but I just don't wanna sit all of the rounds out." Mickey raised his hand, making Brick raise an eyebrow, but nod at him. "It's good to take initiative, soldier." Brick then looked at Alejandro, who nodded at him. "Great, so that's two confirmed. Does anyone else want to sit out? Bridgette sighed but took a seat anyway, and Amy sat on the other end. "All right, so we're going Alejandro, myself, Kitty, Mickey, Shawn, and Trent." Brick made the headcount and concluded they were good to go.

On the Bass side, they'd decided to go with a similar strategy, both Geoff and Devin were going in, much like the last rounds. Crimson decided to participate in just this one round to get it over and done with, alongside Tammy, Courtney, and Harold.

As the teams readied themselves, Chef blew his whistle and the teams took off. Much like last time, the Gophers got all the balls, but this time they weren't so easily taken out. They began throwing multiple balls at the same targets, and while some were caught, the targets were still taken out, making the process more or less even out.

After several traded shots, the teams were looking like this: Bridgette, Kitty, LeShawna, Trent vs. Cameron, Courtney, Geoff, and Harold. Bridgette hurled her ball at Cameron, and while he managed to duck, LeShawna had hit him off guard. Courtney threw hers at Bridgette, but Trent deflected it. Harold tried to grab Kitty's ball, but his clumsiness made him barely avoid it, whereas Courtney facepalmed and went to grab the ball. Geoff threw a ball at Trent, who made the mistake of side-stepping, which left him open to Courtney's shot.

Harold took a stance to grab Bridgette's ball, and he finally managed to, removing the surfer from the game and bringing back Devin. With the numerical advantage, the Bass enacted Scarlett's strategy once again and came out victorious.

"Woah, Gophers, what happened? You did so well during the first two rounds and got demolished in the final two? Did you lose your mojo or something?" Chris mocked them, knowing they were much more likely to rise to the bait. "Can it!" Amy growled from their side, before sitting back on the bench.

Chris - Confessional (2)

"Man, I love my job," Chris said with a satisfied smirk on his face.

Chris - Confessional - End (2)

"What the heck do we do?! We're gonna lose at this rate, people!" Amy barked out to her team. "You think we don't know that? It's not like we're losing on purpose, damn!" LeShawna got up and confronted the cheerleader.

"Ladies, let's settle down, please." Alejandro started. "We need a counteraction against their strategy. They're clearly focusing us down with a specific strategy in mind, so we need something to fight back."

"Sir! We could always try and repeat the strategy from the last round, where we focused down on their best players!" Brick saluted Alejandro, which made a few people look at him oddly, but let him carry on regardless. "I'm aware the last round was a bust, but the strategy worked well. We managed to take out their best asset, Devin!" He concluded.

"What if some of us played more defensively?" Kitty suggested. "We give the balls to the ones who can throw them the hardest, and those who are more agile can dive in to catch balls, either one that hit or the ones that were about to hit someone." Kitty continued, noticing how some of her teammates were pretty fast, but lacked firepower, and vice versa.

"It's a good strategy. I think if we divide the team into those categories we'll be able to win." Amy concurred with Kitty. Alejandro then nodded and they began to divide into catchers (Amy, Bridgette, Mickey, Sammy, and Trent) and throwers (Alejandro, Brick, Kitty, LeShawna, and Shawn). Soon, they reunited three of each group and headed to the court.

The field had all twelve players ready to play. Alejandro, Brick, Shawn, Amy, Bridgette, and Trent for the Gophers, and Courtney, Devin, Geoff, Harold, Scarlett, and Tammy for the Bass.

Chef blew his whistle, and something nobody expected happened. This was by far the longest round ever. So long that the video had to be cut short to show all eliminations, catching, and savings.

Alejandro and Geoff take each other out, Amy grabbing Tammy's ball, bringing in Kitty just to be sent out by Harold. Devin and Scarlett coordinate their shots to take out LeShawna without letting Kitty save her in time.

Trent grabbed Courtney's ball and brought back Alejandro, while simultaneously being eliminated by the newly brought-in Geoff.

As the game kept going, neither side gave up, making the last round, and the decisive one, way too long. Even Chris was getting tired of seeing the exchanged shots, and Chef was starting to get out of breath from whistling too much. The only remaining players on the field were Alejandro, Amy, and Sammy for the Gophers, and Devin, Sam, and Scarlett for the Bass.

"All right, pause! Are you campers taking steroids or something? Sheesh. Take a five-minute breather while Chef rests, too." Chef was then shown as exhausted from refereeing the game.

The Bass quickly reunited. "It seems like they developed their own strategy. We'll need to play a bit more randomly to get them off track." Scarlett declared. "Randomly? How so?" Courtney inquired.

"Well, they've noticed we're following a similar strategy of who to take out first, and who to leave for last. There's nothing much we can do but go for widely different targets. Albeit, with only three of them…" Scarlett was about to go into her own world, but stopped and noticed. "Wait, the only one in their team who seems to be good at eliminating others is Alejandro. So long we leave Devin to eliminate him, it should be fine. Sam and I shouldn't try to get him out, lest he catches one of the battles and turns the tides." Scarlett declared. Her teammates nodded.

"All right, we're tied with them, in all senses of the word. Sammy, and Amy, you guys know the drill. Try and catch any incoming ball for Alejandro. Devin is way too good at the game to be taken out by either of you, so leave it to him." Shawn reasoned out with the twins. Amy slightly grunted at using Sammy's name but nonetheless nodded, whereas Sammy didn't really say anything but concurred.

"OK, team. This is our last shot at winning the challenge. If we lose, I don't even know who we'd vote out, but let's carry on anyway." Trent cheered the remaining three Gophers on.

Soon, all campers that were still in the game reunited at the court. Chris nodded toward Chef and the cook blew his whistle. This time, only two balls were on the court. Both Alejandro and Devin managed to grab them before they took stances. Devin threw his first at Amy, who luckily dodged out of the way, Alejandro tried to go for Devin, but the jock ducked to avoid the sailing ball. Both Sam and Amy gathered the balls and gave them to the two most athletic members of the court.

As the game went on, there was bare that changed, most of them kept dodging and missing, and since only two players were throwing balls, things were far tamer than the previous games. On a sudden turn of events, both Alejandro and Devin managed to hit one of the other members of the enemy teams. The casanova hit Sam out, while the jock removed Amy from the game. Scarlett and Sammy were running to field the balls, all while trying their best to avoid getting eliminated and potentially costing their team the win.

The game went on, and despite both teams trying their best, neither of them were succeeding. Not until Scarlett pulled a fast one, where she dodged Alejandro's ball, but rather than give it to Devin, she threw it straight at the casanova's back. He barely dodged it, but Devin saw the opportunity to take him out. As Scarlett was about to cheer him on, she felt a rubber ball hit her on the lower back and turned to see the cheerleader meekly go back to her own area. The brainiac was about to seethe, but Chef blew his whistle to signify that she was out. As the Bass were all cheering Devin on, knowing Sammy wasn't exactly the best player, they had full trust in him.

The Gophers on the other hand were all prepared to lose, knowing Sammy's best chance at winning would be to catch the jock's ball aimed at her. For the first time in several hours, Devin finally took a look at Sammy, who was staring at him in what seemed to be disappointment and fear, but she quickly averted her gaze and went to grab one of the balls that rolled to her side of the field.

The jock shook his head and remembered Scarlett's words that rang through his head. He couldn't cost his team the win, they'd be so disappointed in him and he could go home! But what would be worse? Losing a chance of winning 100k or completely breaking off any sort of relationship you had with a girl you liked? Before his mind could process what was going on, his body moved on autopilot, hurling his ball at the good twin. Sammy was about to give up, waiting for the ball to strike her, but she suddenly felt a boost of adrenaline going through her veins, not wanting to give Amy the satisfaction of barking out they had to vote her off.

And much less give Devin the win, despite what happened in the previous challenge, it was either her or him going home after this, and she could not give up. She frowned and matrix dodged the incoming rubber ball, all the years of gymnastics and acrobatic stunts due to her cheerleading training came forward.

She surprised all of the players on the court, with her sudden change of attitude, she grabbed the ball that was near her feet, cartwheeled it until she reached the middle of the court, and hurled the ball towards Devin's face. In normal situations, he could have easily caught it, but the ball went so fast and so filled with rage that it smacked him dead across the face.

The momentum of the ball was so much that it sent him toward the back of the court, slamming him against the back wall and making a huge thud sound. The ball then bounced off on the floor, giving the Screaming Gophers the win.

With pretty much all campers, including Chef and Chris, being shocked due to Sammy's athletic skills, the sound of the rubber ball diminishing bounce and Devin's weak moans from being launched into the glass wall were resounding across the court. Finally, Chef whistled several times, signifying the end of the longest round of dodgeball they've had yet. Chris broke out of his stupor and announced the victors.

"And in a surprise turn of events, Samey wins the game and takes it home for the Screaming Gophers!" Chris declared coming over to raise Sammy's hand.

"O.M.G.! I can't believe I've done it!" Sammy screamed in ecstasy. "I've won! I've won!" She began to jump in one place as her team surrounded her and lifted her above their heads, as they cheered her name. Even Amy smiled a little at her sister.

Amy - Confessional (5)

"OK, I know Samey is a loser and all, but even I have to admit that was one awesome play. I bet she learned those flips with me, back at school." Amy proudly boasted. Well, at least she didn't insult Sammy?

Amy - Confessional - End (5)

Scarlett rushed to the court and pulled Devin's collar once again. "What the hell was that?! That was an easy win!" Devin was shocked about what happened, but he tried his best to reply. Scarlett soon came to a conclusion, gasping, she lowered her voice. "Did you throw the game just so your little girlfriend could win?! Devin, you are so out of the game!" Scarlett seethed at the jock.

"Wait, hang on, I didn't lose on purpose, I swear!" But before he could get another word in, Chris interrupted both the cheerings and beratings. "Killer Bass, what can I say? You guys tried, but trying isn't enough. I'll meet you guys at the campfire ceremony during the evening. Make good use of your time here, for one of you is going home." As Chris walked off, Scarlett was already formulating a plan in her head.

As the campers were shown going back to their cabins, Bridgette and LeShawna were talking. "Did you see the way Devin avoided looking at Sammy? I thought those two had become close…" The surfer started. Her friend then replied. "I don't know what happened either. At one point he was all chummy with her, and the next thing we know he was aiming for her. That's cold."

Bridgette nodded and began reciting about the time she and Geoff spent together, reminiscing how much fun they were having. As they both laughed by, Kitty was still looking for her cell phone back at the clearing but had no such luck.

This time around, the Bass didn't reunite with each other, they preferred to vote for whoever they thought was too weak in this challenge. As Devin was trudging along, Scarlett came up to win with a smug face. "Devin, may I speak to you?" She asked, nonetheless polite.

"What for? So you can remind me you guys are voting me off? No thanks." He rolled his eyes and was about to walk by her, but she stepped in front of him again, not budging. "Not at all. Quite the contrary. Here's what I'm thinking of." Before it could be heard, the scene changed to show Alejandro and Amy reuniting, away from everyone else.

"So, did you get it?" Alejandro asked, eyeing the cheerleader. She smirked and took out Kitty's phone from her skirt, handing it to the casanova. "I saw her looking for it, it was hilarious. Oh, and as a bonus, listen to the first recording." As he did, his eyes grew wide, realizing this could be a great weapon to use. He came even closer to Amy and smiled at her. "Good job, Amy. With this, we'll have at least four votes guaranteed. That means with one more vote and we'll dominate our team. And as a bonus, if we ever need to get rid of someone, we can always use this." As he flashed the phone in front of her, she circled her arms against his neck. As they both stared at each other, they finally took the plunge and kissed, knowing how easy it'd be to blackmail their teammate.

The next shot showed the campfire ceremony, with all ten campers sitting beside each other. Some of them were nervous, due to how they performed, some were laid back and some were stoic. Overall, it was a heavy mood settling in, for another one of them had to leave the game. Chris then began his monologue.

"Campers, you've already placed your votes and made your decision. One of you will be going home, and you can't come back. Ever. When you hear me call out your name, come up to pick up your marshmallow." He held a marshmallow between his fingers, mockingly showing the campers what they all sought out.

"Harold."

"Crimson."

"Courtney."

"Cameron."

"Tammy."

"Sam."

"Geoff."

With each camper mentioned, they sighed in relief from being kept in the game and went to collect their marshmallows.

"Scarlett, Devin, and Dawn. All three of you received votes." Chris stated somberly. "Scarlett, you still act as an unwanted boss, but it was your strategy that even allowed your team to win two rounds back to back. And for that, you are not the one going home." He threw the brainiac a marshmallow, who caught it, and smugly smiled. Dawn raised an eyebrow, at the apparent bottom two, of which she swore it'd be between Scarlett and Devin, not Devin and herself.

"You two on the other hand… Dawn, your resistance to playing the game and lack of apparent usefulness has made some of your teammates think you're fodder. Devin, you played great and nearly won, but it was you who lost to Samey. Not cool, dude." Chris mocked the jock. "But in the end, only one of you can receive the marshmallow of safety! Your teammates have spoken, and they decided to eliminate…

Dawn!" Chris then threw the last marshmallow at Devin, who caught it but still looked sad, knowing he had to throw Dawn under the bus to survive another night. "Wait, what?! You guys voted me off?!" Dawn asked her team, bewildered at their decision. "No matter, I need you guys to pay attention to-" Before she could finish, Chef had already picked her up like a burlap sack. "Off you go, girly. We ain't got all night."

"Heed my words, you can't trust-!" And before she completed, Chef threw her in the boat of losers, and Chris took the scene. "And in a swift change of events, Dawn was eliminated!"

In the background, as Devin and Geoff were relieved the jock hadn't been eliminated, Crimson glowered at a certain redhead brainiac, for she knew it was her who got her friend eliminated.

Crimson - Confessional (6)

For once, she seemed to be angry, with the black flies all steering away from her angry expression. "Scarlett thinks she's so smart for getting Dawn kicked off, but I'll make her realize who she messed with." Crimson glared at the camera tenfold.

Crimson - Confessional - End (6)

Cue the ending scenes.

Votes for the ceremony:

Cameron: "Courtney and Scarlett are both voting for Dawn, but… Is that really the right thing to do? I'm sorry, I'm voting for Devin. He's the one who lost the challenge…"

Courtney: "Scarlett said we should all vote for Dawn, rather than Devin. I agree, Devin still has much more to offer than Dr. Dolittle over there."

Crimson: "I'm voting for Scarlett again. I know she's plotting something, and I don't trust her."

Dawn: "I vote for Scarlett. After trying to help her, I realized she doesn't wish to be helped, so I'll try and vote her off. Hopefully, some of the others picked up on her behavior."

Devin: "Scarlett said I needed to vote for Dawn, or else she'd tell everyone I lost on purpose… Sorry, Dawn, but I still need to repair things with Sammy…"

Geoff: "To save Devin, he said we should vote for Dawn. Sorry, brah, nothing against you…"

Harold: "Gosh, I think it was Devin who did this to me. He reeks of a jerk jock, so I'm voting for him. Oh, and he lost us the game, too."

Sam: "Scarlett said people were thinking of voting me off, so she said we should all gang up on Dawn… I really don't wanna do it, but I have to if I wanna stay."

Scarlett: "I vote for Dawn. I don't know who she thinks she is, but she crossed a line she oughtn't to cross. Goodbye, Dawn!"

Tammy: "I'm voting for Devin. It was his loss that cost us the game, after all. I'm sorry."

Before the Cult of Dawn comes knocking down my door, I want to justify myself, so please bear with me!

So... I always knew Dawn would be an early boot, but not because I couldn't think of a plotline, but because she makes a great early boot to establish villains! Her optimism and natural favoritism make her a great way to introduce someone who'll ruthlessly take others out of the competition.

But, I also want to apologize for kicking her off so early. I know that a lot of people cheer for her, but sometimes we have to let go of nice things to progress with the plot... I just hope no one dropped the fanfic because of it! LOL!

Also, tell me if you're liking the development of some of the characters! I tried to mix in some of the Lindsay and Tyler scenes (getting hit multiple times, "dating" an enemy, etc.) into the plot, but slightly altered it. I'm particularly fond of how Crimson is acting into the plot since she's normally (alongside B, Ennui, and some of the more mute characters) kinda hard to develop. Giving her something with a polar opposite was definitely a decision I've made, haha!

Anyway, I hope you all have an amazing rest of the day/night, and ciao!
