ADAS KALLIG
I spent the last three days investigating various jedi tombs and temples on Tython, trying to find something valuable to sell. But no matter how long I searched, the only things I was able to find were some ancient statues (which were too heavy for me to transport) or murals (Which I wouldn't be able to retrieve intact). It was quite puzzling, as I expected Tython to be a trove of jedi artifacts and other valuable trinkets.
Tython was a planet full of forests and lakes, brimming with life, thanks to its connection to the light side of the force. I could feel that it was hit by some unknown dark ritual in the past, as some strands of the dark energy were still in the air, but whatever it was, Tython was able to recover from it, becoming in tune with the light side again.
Which was a shame, as there was nothing wrong with a planet being at least a little dark. It would make a planet place more interesting, with monsters created from the dark side and various natural disasters happening on a regular basis. The planets full of the light energy on the other hand, just...were. there was just nothing interesting on these planets.
But it wasn't the case for the jedi. They love their peace and tranquility. Which is why Tython was the place where their order was created, making it some kind of sacred ground for them. It was even a main base of the order during the galactic war, after the destruction of their temple on Coruscant. That made me nostalgic. It was so nice to land on Tython and raid their main temple, killing every jedi along the way. They sacked the temple on Korriban in retaliation though, so I guess it wasn't exactly a victory. Still, it was satisfying to put all this jedi in their place.
This planet being so important for the order also meant that it was ridiculous that the Jedi forgot about its location. Even if it was ravaged by the dark side in the past, it didn't make sense for the Jedi to not have any information about its whereabouts, despite being the origin of their order. Say what you will about the jedi in my time, but at least they were somewhat competent enough to protect it, contrary to the current ones. Leaving this place unattended meant that anyone could just waltz there and do whatever they want.
Like I did.
Though, like I said, I wasn't able to find anything important. Was it possible that the jedi took everything valuable with them while they were abandoning the planet? No way, Jedi are idiots. They would leave everything alone, saying something about not disturbing the dead and protecting the balance or something stupid like that. But if it wasn't them, then who looted the place?
Unable to find anything, I decided to leave the tomb I was currently in. Well, the word Tomb might have been an exaggeration as this place didn't even have a roof, but that's Jedi for you. No style at all.
While walking towards the exit, I felt the presence in the force. What made it unusual was the fact that it wasn't an animal, but a sentient being. It made me quite curious, as I didn't see anyone before, making me think that the planet was uninhabited. THese beings were getting closer to my location.
From what I was able to sense, there were around ten of them. They were quite big and after reaching the tomb, they hid behind various statues located outside. Interesting.
I exited the tomb. Pretending to not notice the group, I started to slowly walk in their direction. When I was about to go past them, they revealed themselves, screaming and running at me, armed with primitive weapons.
"JEDI. KILL JEDI" Shouted one of them, using a broken galaxy standard. I looked at the group. They were all almost three meters tall and very muscular. Their heads consisted of a mouth full of sharp teeth, eight olfactory slits and two eye stalks. They were all red and their clothes were primitive. Despite their obvious mutations, they looked quite familiar.
"Rakata?" I whispered, surprised to see the race of ancient conquerors on a planet like Tython, especially in such devolved form. This was quite an interesting development. Rakata were functionally extinct, unable to survive after losing access to the force and being decimated by a mysterious plague. They had to be some crazed Descendants of the race, mutated after isolating themselves for millenia.
I used the force to put pressure on all my assailants, forcing them to kneel before me. They tried to resist, but they were unable to do anything, too weak to fight against my power. I approached the biggest one in their group, presumably their leader.
"Hi, nice to meet you" I said pleasantly, trying to give a good first impression. "Sorry for the intrusion. I am new here, so I didn't know this territory belongs to you. My name is Adas. What's yours?"
"NO. JEDI BAD. KILL JEDI" It shouted, still trying to break free. What an eloquent fellow. I had a feeling getting some information about them would be hard.
"I am a sith, not a jedi, so you have nothing to worry about. I just have some questions..." I started, when it interrupted me.
"NO, KILL JEDI. KILL. JEDI DIE!" It trashed, trying to break my grasp on him and get up. Other rakata were doing the same, likely going into some kind of frenzy.
It would appear I won't be able to do anything by talking. They were violent and primitive, most likely being a part of some tribal society, barely intelligent enough to communicate with me and they knew violence as the only response to outsiders. That changed things.
I made a mistake. Monsters won't listen to you just because you asked them nicely. They needed the demonstration of strength.
I hoped I still remembered how to do that. I might have gotten a little rusty after spending so long as a leader of the alliance. Some of my subordinates were jedi/from the republic, so they would get angsty if I were to do something too brutal.
I raised my hand, concentrating my powers on the leader. I started to put more and more pressure on it, making it scream from pain. The others stopped resisting my grasp, watching their leader in silence.
I made the leader float, still putting more power. His body started bending, unseen force compressing it and shattering everything inside it. It was screaming, unable to do anything as its bones were breaking and his muscles were tearing up. It lasted until everyone heard a snap and his body went limp. corpse of the leader, now broken and destroyed, fell into the ground with a splat.
All Rakata were looking at me, silent, as if waiting for something.
"I am the leader now. Serve me or die!" I exclaimed, using my official sith lord voice. I stopped using the force, making them free to move. They didn't stand up though, still kneeling.
"SITH LEADER! FLESH RAIDERS SERVE STH!" They declared, looking at me with devotion. Apparently they weren't hard to convince. It was quite refreshing to see such simple people after having to deal with politics for so long.
"Take me to your home!" I ordered. They didn't hesitate in the slightest, standing up and starting to guide me to their settlement. How nice of them.
Few hours and around ten corpses later, I found myself becoming the leader of the community of mutated rakata, apparently named flesh raiders. It wasn't my plan when I was landing on Tython, but I was happy with the result.
Their society was extremely primitive, with wooden huts as their houses and spears as their weapons, but they would be quite dangerous when equipped with proper armor and weapons. I am sure they will be quite useful.
I was also able to resolve the mystery of the empty tombs. Flesh raiders were looting them, taking any valuable relic inside and giving it to their shaman. It was quite an interesting fellow. He was obviously smarter than other flesh raiders, in addition to being force sensitive, which honestly surprised me, especially as Rakata weren't supposed to use the force anymore. Maybe after so many years the species started to regain the former affinity for the force?
Anyway, Raksh, because that was the name of the shaman, ordered others to bring him relics from tombs and temples, so that he would be able to learn more about the force.
"SITH TEACH! RAKSH GIVE JEDI THINGS! RAKSH LEARN FROM SITH" He pleaded, obviously not being able to go very far in the force on his own. It was an intriguing idea. He was very eager to learn and teaching a mutated rakata sounded hilarious to me, so I didn't have any problem with that.
He wouldn't be my apprentice though. I would only teach him a little, making him strong enough to be able to protect himself. Then he could lead flesh raiders for me. That way I would have some warriors to fight for me without having to rule over them myself. In exchange, Raksh would become a dark side user, making him even more important in his community. Win-Win.
I also missed my favourite abomination Khem Val, and Raksh reminded me of him quite a bit.
"Sure, we have a deal," I replied. With one action I was able to gain both valuable treasures and some interesting subordinates. It was quite a good start. Flesh raiders weren't that bright though, so I also needed some real subordinates. That's why I had to sell some of the Jedi crap I just obtained, so I would be able to pay them.
And there was one place in the galaxy where you could sell just about anything, without having to worry about legalities or morals.
The capital of gambling and illegal trade, Nar Shaddaa.
