ADAS KALLIG

I was sitting on stairs leading to the Dark Temple, watching the sunset. Lana was also there, her head resting on my shoulder. I put my arm around her, happy to feel her warmth again, after so many years apart. We were sitting quietly, watching as blood coming from dead cultists, killed by my followers, was glittering slightly in the light of the setting sun. It was a beautiful view and I was happy to watch it together with Lana.

None of us said a word, content with each other's company. Some part of me wanted to stay there forever, but I knew there was still a lot to do. So we would just stay there for a while before rejoining my followers and leaving this planet.

We were approached by Grandpa Aloysius, who spent the last hour taking everything he could from his tomb. Not that there was a lot of it to collect. When Tulak Hord killed him, he wasn't exactly generous with what he put there. The fact that he was actually entombed at all suggested that his killer was quite generous for an ancient sith lord. There were however other sith lords buried there, so there was also an option of taking something from them.

"Everything ready, Grandpa?" I said, still watching the sunset.

"Aye, Lad. I have everything I need. Lightsaber, some trinkets and a toothbrush. I am set!" He responded and I could feel a smile on his face. After so many years as a ghost he was finally able to move again, no longer bound to the temple, so it was natural for him to be so happy. I didn't want to know where he got a toothbrush though. I probably wouldn't like the answer

"You sure you don't want to come with us? We would be able to do some classic grandfather-grandson adventures" I was really disappointed when Grandpa Aloysius announced that he wouldn't join my ragtag bunch of misfits. I was sure he would have a lot of interesting stories to tell and he would be really useful with all his experience and power. He would be like the group's grandpa! Every team needed someone like that!

"Sorry. It all sounds fun, but I am a little old for this kind of activity. Adventure is swell and all when you are a lad, but at my age you start to feel pleasure from more peaceful hobbies. Maybe I will conquer some planet? I don't know, I didn't plan anything yet" He responded. He didn't know what to do? I thought back to the idea born in my head after meeting Ventress. I knew what could make grandpa happy!

I heard Lana sigh, as she already knew I was about to do something. I also knew she wouldn't say anything, as she liked my ideas, despite her denials. She would often say I was irresponsible and I should know better, but at the same time she would already plan how to expand my ideas and put them into practice, working with a smile on her face, happy with a new, interesting challenge. She was adorable like that.

"If you don't know what to do, may I suggest Korriban?" I said, knowing it would interest grandpa.

"You have something in mind?" Asked Grandpa, waiting for me to continue.

"well, I will soon have to start to renovate it. After all, it's a place with a lot of history and I would like to make it a main base of my rapidly growing organization. And one of the things Korriban is known for is the sith academy, institution renomed for their academic standard and a lot of job opportunities upon finishing it" Both Lana and Grandpa were listening intently, trying to find out where I was going with that.

" And you were always a great and wise teacher to me. You taught me so much. So I thought you would do great as a real teacher, maybe even a principal. You have that certain spark of wisdom needed for that job" I looked at Grandpa, wanting to hear his answer "So what do you say, grandpa?"

Grandpa Aloysius was speechless, overwhelmed by my offer. He was shaking from excitement, apparently quite fond of the idea.

"Being called a teacher, what a wonderful thought. I would have a hat, a really big hat. People seeing it would know that I was someone important. And all these hopeful youngsters would come to me, seeing wisdom. I would teach them how to take their first steps as sith. Lifting their first object with their mind, their first curse casted, first kill of another sentient being. How wonderful!" He exclaimed. He looked at me. "I will do it, Lad. I will be the greatest teacher Korriban has ever known! I will go there immediately! I will scout the best monster lairs, best haunted tombs, it will be perfect!" He then said quick goodbyes to me and Lana, wanting to start as soon as possible.

Lana and I were again alone. We were sitting there for some time in comfortable silence. After a while, Lana spoke.

"So, sith academy…" she started, still looking at the sunset.

"Yes?" I replied, relaxed in her company.

"It was a good idea to choose your ancestor as the one who would lead it in the future. He is loyal to you and with enough good luck this loyalty would influence some of the next generation…"

"Hah" I laughed fondly, hearing it. She was always so serious when it came to these things. Already thinking about political benefits. How cute "Well, It also made grandpa quite happy, so I agree. It was a good idea"

She chuckled after hearing that. She looked me into eyes, gaze full of warmth and smiled.

"It's good to be back" She whispered. I kissed her, agreeing wholeheartedly.

SELLEANA MYR

Things became messy after Kallig's casual act of endangering the whole galaxy. Many force users started to throw blame at Palpatine and the Jedi order, accusing them of working together with Darth Imperius to spread chaos. She couldn't even blame them, as the whole situation looked quite suspicious.

Selleana tried her best to convince them of their innocence, knowing that they couldn't afford to lose their support. It wasn't an easy task, especially as most of the force users didn't even know her and she was considered to be extremely suspicious for mysteriously appearing at the meeting instantly after the veil was lifted. The fact that the second after she appeared, members more attuned to the force started to feel something similar to the force itself screaming in their minds didn't help either.

Fortunately, thanks to her skills and experience as a diplomat, she was able to convince most of them to believe her. Not everyone, but she was able to actually receive promises of future cooperation from most of the important groups. Most of them wouldn't take part in the actual combat, as their strengths lay in meditation and connection to the force, but some of the groups decided to send some of their warriors.

Matukai, a group of one of the best martial artists in the galaxy, even promised to train some of the jedi in combat, in addition to sending some of its warriors to aid the republic.

It all meant that this conclave, despite the unfortunate developments, could be considered a success. It was hard for her to be happy though.

She sighed, feeling tired. She raised her hand, looking at it intently. She made a fist, observing how her fingers were clenching. Everything was working as intended, there was no discomfort or pain. To be honest, she was still surprised to be corporeal again. She certainly didn't plan to do that and it only happened because of the bout of typical Kallig insanity. She didn't even know how to feel about this.

She knew her resurrection was objectively good, as the order was in a difficult situation and her experience would be very useful for them, especially with Darth Imperius on the loose. Yet she couldn't bring herself to be happy. She already made peace with her death. She was content with her place in the force and yet it was taken from her without her consent.

There was something horrible about it and yet she knew denying this opportunity would be extremely selfish. That was why she could only accept this development, despite her feelings on this matter.

She saw Yoda approaching her. Palpatine, still blissfully amnesiac, already boarded his ship, returning to Coruscant. However before he did that, he gave Yoda a pardon and invited gathered force users to his service, promising good treatment, generous pay and amazing healthcare.

Selleana was too tired to even attempt commenting on that. For now he wasn't an active threat, though he would have to be heavily monitored, in case he got his memory back.

"Great burden on your shoulders, I see" Said Yoda, sitting next to her. They were sitting on a big rock, watching trees that were softly swaying in the wind. It was a peaceful sight, though it did little to calm the unease in her heart.

"Yes, but it's a burden I must carry. It's a will of the force that I was given a new body, It is my duty to use it to help the galaxy" She gave Yoda a mirthless smile. She could of course ignore it, doing whatever she pleased, but it wasn't in her nature. Her heart belonged to the order. She wouldn't abandon them.

"Wise enough I am not to tell you what to do. A friend in me you will always have however, if it brings you any peace" Said Yoda, trying to cheer her up. She appreciated the sentiment.

"Thank you" She smiled. She still had to process her situation, but she knew what she needed to do. "Will you return to Coruscant?"

"Yes, Too long it's been since I was there" He looked at her seriously "Accompany me, will you?"

"Not yet. I need to do one thing before returning to the order, if you allow me of course" She wouldn't be able to make peace with her state without doing that.

"In order, you are always welcome" Said Yoda "Where will you go?"

"Chandrila" She replied softly.

AHSOKA TANO

Ahsoka spent the last weeks in the Jedi archives, looking for the answers. For what questions, she didn't know, but she knew they were important ones. She was doing this, because ever since her mission on Odessen she tried to understand what she really felt there, this weird harmony between the dark and the light.

The one who could answer her questions, Adas Kallig, disappeared after creating the biggest mess in the order's current history, so she wasn't able to ask him anything. She also knew it was probably a bad idea to take advice about the force from the sith lord. She also knew that it was getting dangerously close to be considered grey sided, so she tried to find a jedi, who would give her answer acceptable by the order.

That was why she did the only thing she could. She buried herself in the archives, trying to find something that could bring her peace, taken from her by her visit to Odessen. She knew Anakin was worried about her, seeing how affected she was by her experiences. She didn't want to worry him further, but it was something she had to do.

After spending a lot of time there, she found what she was looking for in the depths of the archives. Browsing ancient texts she found a holocron and the teachings of an ancient Jedi master, known as Barsen'thor. It layed forgotten in the deepest sections of the archives, covered by dust. It was obviously forgotten by everybody, but something made Ahsoka investigate it, despite its unassuming appearance.

It was everything she was looking for! What was even better, It wasn't even anything that could be considered forbidden, despite Anakin's worries. Yes, Barsen'thor was deemed controversial by the council of her time, but her insight was celebrated by the order, instead of being shunned.

Her views were in some way against the teachings of the current order, but it was still openly light, not Grey, let alone dark, so Ahsoka was sure it was alright for her to learn something from her lessons. It wasn't like she was doing anything bad anyway.

She spent days listening to Barsen'thor's hologram, learning everything she could from it. She was mesmerized, hungrily devouring every word coming from the transparent figure of a slender, mirialan woman, marveling at how insightful she was and how much she achieved.

Love being a source of calm and peace instead of temptation, possibility of cooperation with even the most aggressive races like trandoshans, acceptance of different cultures and stances on the force bringing people of the Galaxy closer to each other instead of leading to conflict and dark side. Barsen'thor's hologram explained these concepts with a small, beautiful smile, treating it like it was something obvious. Ahsoka could see wisdom in these words, starting to question why the teachings of her order were so different from Barsen'thor's perspective.

When she learned everything she could from the holocron, she finally left the archives, enriched by the lessons learned there. She still had so many questions though.

It was such a shame that Barsen'thor, such a wise and beautiful woman was no longer among the living, instead becoming one with the force. Ahsoka would do anything to learn more from her!
