LANA BENIKO

She spent most of her day on the ship, gathering information about the current state of the Galaxy. Despite Adas' words, a lot had changed since their times. The sith empire was no more for starters. It wasn't much of a surprise though. Sith as a whole weren't exactly the type to cooperate for long periods of time, even if it was necessary for their survival. Even changes made by Acina wouldn't be enough to create a long-lasting society. Not with all these power-hungry sadists being a cultural and political core of the organisation. The Sith empire was destined to fall, one way or another.

She wasn't however surprised to see that there were still some individual sith lords out there, scheming and plotting. One even became a Chancellor, something that amused her quite a bit. Jedi really became sloppy for something like this to happen. Such a failure on their part. His reveal as a sith lord also gave Adas and Lana quite a lot of options and very useful tools. Being a sith was apparently something really profitable these days, giving Adas a lot of prestige in the republic, creating new opportunities for them. Even now he was in the middle of the lecture given to the various academicians of the republic, convincing them that sith were just a misunderstood, but peaceful society. She would have to think about how they could capitalize on this in the future.

She exited her and Adas' bedroom, moving through the ship. Now that she understood the current situation a little better, she should think about how to proceed next. When she entered the common area of the Second Fury, she saw the weird cyborg that Adas had kidnapped, Grievous. Upon noticing her arrival, he started to scream, something that was apparently quite common for him to do. She admired his determination, however useless it was.

"You! Do you know who I am?! If you don't return me right now to the separatist fleet I will make sure you will beg for death! This humiliation is..." Lana used the force to silence the cyborg and bend him in half. Then she floated him to the table, deciding to use him as a chair. When she sat at the table, she took out the datapad she had in her pocket.

It contained data on every member of Adas' new group.

She knew Adas could be a little too frivolous at times, so it was her job to ensure that there would be no suspicious activities and betrayals among his followers. Even the ones who seemed loyal could turn out to be traitors after all. She learnt that lesson with Theron. He of course had his reasons and everything turned out fine, but it showed her that she should always be vigilant, even with friends.

She looked at the datapad, ready to start her analysis.

Leila, one of the shepherds of the cult of the screaming blade. Threat of betrayal: 1/10. There wasn't much to worry about there. Leila was extremely devout, loyal and not very ambitious. Her main priority was to be useful to Adas, so it wasn't probable that she would do anything remotely suspicious, at least not by her own volition. The only thing Lana had to worry about was the possibility of Leila trying to show her devotion in more, let's say, physical form, but she would just need to calmly explain why doing something like that would be very harmful for Leila's health if that were to happen. Otherwise, there was no need for closer monitoring for the moment.

Raksh, Shaman from the tribe of mutated rakata named flesh raiders. Threat of betrayal: 3/10. Lana didn't think he would rebel against Adas, though it wasn't because of any fondness or real loyalty to him felt by the mutated rakata. Raksh was from a tribal society where strength was considered to be the only real value. That was why she could be quite certain he wouldn't turn against Adas. His force potential was too small for him to ever be a real threat, so Raksh would never feel he was strong enough to overthrow Adas. He also wasn't smart enough to create any elaborate schemes. His simple mindset made him quite predictable. Unless something changed, she didn't need to focus on him much.

Satine Kryze, former duchess of the Mandalore sector. Threat of betrayal: 6/10. She was probably the hardest member of the team for Lana to rate on the scale. She certainly held no personal loyalty towards Adas, as she was functionally a hostage meant to ensure the cooperation of her sister, leader of Mandalore. Such treatment didn't really make her think favourably about Adas, making her more likely to betray him. There were however some circustimates to consider.

For example, there was the fact that she cared deeply about her people. Adas' show of strength on Mandalore showed her how powerful he was, in addition to making her realize that her sister wouldn't go against him. Because of that she was under the assumption that any rebellious act on her part would lead to some sort of massacre conducted on her subjects, as a punishment for her actions. Silly thought, considering Adas' personality, but a very useful one. Another thing to consider was the fact that she was a true mandalorian, despite Satine's protests. It was both positive and negative. Positive, because no matter what she said, she looked more alive fighting cultists and talking with dangerous sith than on any pictures taken during her reign as a duchess. She subconsciously enjoyed fights she got into, despite her official stance as a pacifist. Negative, because mandalorians as a whole were not reliable, being glory-seeking berserkers, not trustworthy in general. There was also the fact that she apparently used to be romantically involved with a Jedi master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, which could lead to some undesirable developments. For now Satine would have to be under constant surveillance in addition to Lana actively watching for any changes in behavior.

Darth Maul, a sith lord and Adas' newest apprentice. Threat of betrayal: 8/10. Zabrak sith would have to be under constant surveillance as well to ensure he wouldn't do anything foolish. Just as with Satine, Maul held no personal loyalty towards Adas. Becoming his apprentice wasn't his choice, as he was forced to do that by both his mother and Adas, despite his protests. Additionally, he had a personality of a typical young sith: constantly angry, reckless and without any respect for his superiors. She was sure he would stab Adas in the back at any sign of weakness. It came both from his personal distaste of Adas and his typical sith mentality. How irritating. She often complained about Xelek, but at least he was loyal to his master, despite his other flaws. Training an apprentice who would constantly scheme to dispose of you was so troublesome. That was why she had never had an apprentice herself. There were just too many negatives with almost no positives. For now she would have to keep Maul under heavy surveillance, though he would be easier to monitor than Satine. His personality profile indicated that his betrayal would be direct and opportunity-based and not planned. His betrayal was likely, but not hard to notice beforehand.

She looked at her chair, who was seething silently, still unable to move or talk, glaring at her with eyes full of hatred. She supposed she should include him in her group analysis. She sighed. Honestly, Adas could be such a child sometimes, taking an obviously hostile cyborg with him just because he thought he looked cool.

General Grievous, leader of the confederacy armies. Threat of betrayal: 10/10. No personal loyalty, no reason to not do it. He was literally a captive, kept against his will, so he couldn't even be considered a follower. And Adas planned to upgrade him somehow. She sighed again. So troublesome.

Her initial analysis was complete. From what she was able to gather, with the exception of Maul, she would have no problems with disposing of any of them in case of treason. Leila and Raksh would pose no threat. She would have to watch out for any surprises, but she shouldn't have any problems with just suffocating Satine with the force. She didn't know what upgrades Adas planned for Grievous, but unless it was something extreme, she wouldn't have anything to worry about.

It only left Maul. He was a strong and quite experienced fighter, so she didn't know if she would be able to defeat him in a straight fight. It however only meant that she wouldn't fight him fairly. Maybe she would poison him or slit his throat in his sleep. Of course only if she deemed he was about to betray them. He was a team member after all.

She had no intention of killing any of them of course. All these plans were only theoretical at the moment. They were all allies and they would hopefully become good friends. Lana just wanted to be prepared in case any of them thought of going against Adas.

Well, for now she knew what to watch out for in the future. It was time for more important things. She took out a second datapad, much more valuable than the previous one. It contained information about various places on Coruscant she could visit with Adas, so that they could relax a little.

Balmorra's treasure, renomed restaurant, praised on many holonet sites for its delicious dishes. Possibility of a pleasant evening with Adas: 10/10.

Fountain at the Janarus' plaza, full of various stands and events. Possibility of a pleasant evening with Adas: 10/10.

Galaxies opera house, known for performances of many famous artists from the entire galaxy. Possibility of a pleasant evening with Adas: 10/10.

It appeared that there was still a lot of research before she would be able to choose anything, she mused.

SELLEANA MYR

She looked at the object before her. It was extremely uncomfortable for her, but she knew it was necessary. She was staring at the grave, made entirely out of grey stone. It was covered in intricate symbols, though most were too faded to read. It was placed on the platform, with long stairs leading to it. It was a grave of the third barsen'thor. It was her own grave.

She was on a planet named Chandrila, in the crystal canyons, where her tomb was built after her death. In a way it was nice to know that she was loved enough by the people she had met during her life for them to build it for her. However looking at the grave before her she was only able to feel dread and fatigue.

She didn't want to come back. Her only wish was to aid the order with her knowledge, so that they would be able to defeat Kallig. There were other jedi more suited for living the second life than her. She was sure Banemi would be thrilled to be given this chance. And yet it was her who had to carry this burden. Apparently such was the will of the force.

She raised her hand, reaching for the force inside her. Her grave started to shake, as the protections placed upon it were not powerful enough to stop her. She moved her hand up, sending the force to lift the slab. It tried to resist, as the grave was prepared for the force users, but soon the grave slab raised into the air, revealing the mirialan corpse placed inside.

Selleana trembled after seeing her own body, barely a skeleton after thousands of years of rest. It was the final confirmation she needed. She reached into the grave with shaking hands, retrieving the lightsaber laying next to her corpse. It was the same lightsaber she created as a young padawan, the one created by her in the Tythonian forge, where the first lightsabers of the Jedi order were created.

She turned it on. Green hue illuminated the chamber as the blade appeared with a quiet hiss. She quietly stared at her weapon, a constant companion who was with her through every journey. They were finally together again.

She smiled, though there wasn't much happiness in it. Now that she saw her body, confirming she in fact had a new body, and retrieved her weapon, she had no choice, but to return to the order again, to fulfill her duty.

She felt so old. Why was it her who had to carry this burden?

She shook her head. These thoughts wouldn't help her, only weaken her resolve. She had a new chance at making things right, to again fight against darkness. She shouldn't waste it. Countless people depended on her to stop Adas Kallig, so she couldn't just give up, not when she was the only one who knew what he was capable of. Becoming the one with the force was the goal of every jedi, but it wasn't her time. Not yet.

She gripped her lightsaber tightly. She was a jedi master, a Barsen'thor! She would follow the will of the force, just like she did thousands of years ago and bring peace to the galaxy again. Her order needed her and she intended to aid them, as it was her sworn duty. She knew what she had to do.

Finally finding her resolve, she left the tomb, ready for whatever the future would bring.
