Previously on Pokémon: The Lost Child, The five heroes, and others made their way through the haunted forest. They faced some struggles but were able to get through. They have now made their way to the sacred land, the place where the fate of the entire world will be decided.
"This is it—the so-called "sacred land"—you three finally get to see it," Deoxys said.
"It is a beautiful place, all of it is nothing like what I expected; it is like a bright, sparkling shine is constantly on this place," Empoleon said.
"I'm not usually one for admiring beauty, but this place is wonderful; it has awe-inspiring looks," Sceptile said.
"Don't get too distracted, though; remember, we are here for a job," Deoxys said.
"Yeah, that is right; I hope we aren't too late to prevent the return of Arceus," Aegislash commented.
"It doesn't look like we are; we need to quickly head to the Hall of the Gods, which was said to be the birthplace of the entire universe and Arceus himself. I warn you three: this place is going to be very weird, so brace yourself for a big surprise," Deoxys commented.
"As cryptic as always," Victini snidely says.
"Very funny. Well, everyone, follow me," Deoxys said.
Deoxys leads the rest of the four to the hall of the gods, which is a massive series of pillars leading to an altar, one that is at the centre of the entire universe.
"Alright everyone, I need you to watch out for me. I need to perform the spell to keep the portal sealed, it will require intense concentration," Deoxys said.
Deoxys walks up to the alter, gets his hands out, closes his eyes, and starts concentrating his psychic energy on the alter as he gets ready to seal the portal up. Deoxys knew that if Arceus returned, nothing would be left of the world; he had to do it, and it was getting late.
"You know Sceptile when I look back and realize just how far things have come for us. I recall meeting you as Piplup and Treecko, lost in the world with no idea where to go. Now we are here in a place that will determine the fate of the entire world," Empoleon said.
"I am glad to have met you, Empoleon; thanks for everything that you have done for me," Sceptile said.
"I think you as well, Sceptile; you were always there to provide the voice of reason," Empoleon said.
"Aww, this is so sweet," Victini commented.
"Yeah, whatever," Aegislash said.
However, as Deoxys was starting the ritual to seal up the portal, everything seemed like it was going well, and there was nothing that would stop this. In the instant the Pokémon came in at lighting speed he charged toward Deoxys. Deoxys was struck with a powerful retaliatory attack, in which the attacking Pokémon slammed the force of its entire body into Deoys. Deoxys was sent flying back at lightning speed.
All of this had happened too suddenly, and the other four were completely taken aback. They looked closer and saw that the Pokémon that hit Deoxys was Watchog. Victini and Aegislash had no idea who he was, but Empoleon and Sceptile knew all too well who this was.
"You!" Watchog shouted out inane aggressive tone upon seeing Empoleon and Sceptile.
"What in the world! Deoxys!" Victini panicked afterwards, immediately teleporting towards him to help him.
"Watchog, how did you get here?" Sceptile demanded.
"Did you think that you could escape me so easily? I will have my revenge no matter the cost," Watchog said.
"Who in the world is this guy?" Aegislash said.
"Long story short he thinks that we killed his gang and now wants revenge," Empoleon said.
"I don't "think" anything, you did kill then and now you will pay along with anyone who has ever supported you," Watchog lets out a furious scream and charges toward Empoleon and Sceptile.
Empoleon blocks Watchog's charge and starts duelling with him in direct combat. Sceptile quickly comes in to assist, while Aegislash does so as well.
"Watchog, you need to stop this, however, you feel the fate of the world rests in our hands. Deoxys needs to close the portal to stop Arceus from getting released, or else he will destroy the entire world," Sceptile said.
"Think about this rationally," Empoleon pleaded.
"Lord Arceus will help me get my revenge; your world will burn to the ground, and my gang will be resurrected in his new world." Hearing those words come out of Watchog's mouth sent a sudden, extreme wave of shivers down them. Even Aegislash was beyond horrified to hear this, he was an assassin, but hearing that this guy was perfectly fine with letting the whole world burn to the ground if it meant getting revenge, hit a special level of disgust.
At the same time, Victini was trying to get Deoxys back up, who had taken an extremely bad blow from Watchog, "Deoxys, please wake up, Deoxys, please."
Deoxys was able to gather some strength and open his eyes to say, "Victini, I can't do it, you need to close the portal."
"But I can't; I don't know how to," Victini said, feeling an immense level of dread. She was now faced with an immense weight of responsibility.
"You can do it, Victini; you just need to carefully focus. Your mind is a powerful weapon, and it is what will carry you through this," Deoxys said. Deoxys had faith in Victini that she could do it; after all, in his own words, "You are stronger than you think you are, Victini."
"I can't do it, Deoxys," Victini said, starting to have a nervous breakdown as the sudden weight of responsibility she was faced with was starting to get too much.
"You can; I believe in you, you should believe in yourself," Deoxys said before slipping back into unconsciousness. He wasn't dead, but Victini knew that he wasn't waking back up soon. She had to do this, the state of the world was at stake.
Victini levitates on top of the altar and gets into the same position that Deoxys was in. Victini then took a deep breath and started concentrating all of her energy inside of it.
While Empoleon, Sceptile, and Aegislash were fighting with Watchog, he noticed Victini trying to do this. He knew right away that this meant she was trying to close the portal, just as Deoxys had tried to do before her. Watchog tried to rush over to stop Victini, but the trio knew that was what he was trying to do and had to stop him from doing it.
"Don't let Watchog get to Victini, she is our only hope," Aegislash said.
Sceptile jumped in front of Watchog and pushed him back into Aegislash, who slashed his sword and hit Watchog. Watchog recovered from it weirdly easily and then launched a bullet seed at Sceptile. Sceptile blocked the attack and shot a dragon pulse at Watchog, which he dodged out of the way of by jumping in the air. Empoleon fired a hydro pump at Watchog as he jumped into the air, and because he was in the air, Watchog couldn't dodge it and was hit by it.
Watchog was knocked to the ground, but very soon after, he woke back up. It was unnaturally quick for someone to take such a heavy blow, which the trio was very quick to realize. Watchog got up with some kind of glow of fire around him, Watchog flashed towards Empoleon at what seemed to be speeds so massive that it was like he teleported from one place to the other.
Watchog launched Empoleon in the air and then jumped up at the same insane speed to knock him to the ground. The trio barely had any time to react before this happened and could only sit there in shock at what had just happened.
"What in the world? How is this possible?" Aegislash said.
"You have no idea what you are dealing with," Watchog said, his voice having more of an angelic tone. However, underneath that were the words of a Pokémon filled with nothing but hatred.
"Enough of this nonsense," Sceptile charged forward, attempting to slash Watchog with his leaf blade, but Watchog dove under, dodged around, and then hit Sceptile with a massive flame, sending him flying back.
"What kind of unholy superpower is this?" Aegislash said.
"The power of Arceus is in my hands; you and your world are doomed to death," Watchog charges forward to strike Aegislash. Aegislash attempts to block it with his shield, but Watchog continues striking over and over again as Aegislash keeps getting worn down.
Aegislash, while he was taking those blows, was thinking to himself, "Victini, we can't hold him off for much longer; you need to hurray."
Victini, at the same time, was having trouble sealing the portal. She was having difficulty concentrating on it, and Arceus was trying to stop her by fighting her psychologically directly in her mind.
"Your ignorant child, you dare defy your god, I command you to let the portal open," Arceus said, currently speaking directly in Victini's mind.
"No, I won't listen to you; you are a cruel monster; you don't belong in our world," Victini said.
"I created this world, and I will be the end of it."
As Arceus spoke, he began to overwhelm Victini's mind; she couldn't handle all of the pressure being applied. Victini tried to remain strong even in the face of it, but she was running out of power quickly and was forced to struggle through it.
Victini's mind was eventually overwhelmed; her connection got disconnected, and she started screaming out, which everyone quickly took notice of.
"Oh no, this is not good," Sceptile said.
Deoxys at this time also woke up through the sound of Victini's scream; he had been fighting Arceus in his mind as well, so he knew what was happening. Deoxys started staggering, trying to get to the alter to help with his last little bit of strength.
Watchog saw this, however, and pushed Aegislash back to jump toward Deoxys. He held him on the ground with his feet, preventing Deoxys from moving, and he was already too weak to fight back.
"The second coming of Arceus is here," Watchog said.
The portal opened up to the other realm opened. At this point, everyone knew that they were too late. Outside of the portal came Arceus, the creator of the Pokémon world, this was the end of all of them.
