Shop Until Someone Drops

Summary: Now that tree is complete, it's time to purchase presents to fit under the tree. Will Harry be successful in shopping for Ginny? Will Ginny? And will James go overboard?

Harry flooed home to Potter's Bar on Friday morning. He planned on going home in the afternoon. But as he approached the Great Hall, Lily was waiting for him.

"Everything okay, Mum?"

"Remus is sick," She said. "His classes are canceled."

"He's that sick?"

Lily nodded. "I've spoken with your father. He said to call him."

Harry pulled out the mirror James had given him for his birthday. It wasn't an ordinary mirror. It was a communication mirror. To activate it, all Harry needed to do was to say James's name. Lily had one as well. James and Sirius had made them when they were in school, using them to talk to each other if they were in separate detentions. Remus still had his.

James had given it to Harry so they could communicate while Harry was at Hogwarts. Harry still would write to his father. But he often chose to use the mirror. He would call James if he needed something or to talk. James liked it because it allowed him to see his wife and son. Lily loved having the mirror for the same reason. To her amusement, Harry would call her. Usually, he would call her if he was out of potions or needed something. She did tell him he could call her if he needed her.

Harry had called James when they got to Hogwarts to let James know he had gotten there okay. He called James again when he realized he had forgotten his jacket.

"Dad?"

It didn't take long for James's face to appear.

"Hey, Son," James greeted. "What's going on?"

"Remus's classes are canceled. He's sick."

James nodded. "I talked to Sirius this morning. That cough didn't sound good."

"Mum told me. She said to call you?"

"Yeah. Since we both have a free day, would you want to come home early?"

Harry glanced at his mother. She nodded. "It's okay," she mouthed.

"Sure, give me ten minutes."

He found Ginny to tell her about the change in plans. She waved him off, telling him to go. They kissed, ignoring Fred and George's fake gagging.

"See you on Sunday," Harry murmured.

"Have fun," Ginny said.

They kissed one more time before Harry left. He left the Great Hall, following his mother to her quarters.

"I guess you'll get breakfast at the diner?" Lily asked as they walked to her quarters.

"I guess."

When they approached the portrait of Nurse Helga, Lily said the password. They walked into her quarters, Harry heading to his room and Lily to her potions cupboard. Once in his room, Harry changed, switching his uniform for jeans and a jumper.

When he stepped out of his room, Lily was waiting for him. He picked up his trainers as he walked into the sitting room. He sat down on the couch to put his shoes on.

"I'll see you this evening. I should be home around five. I've told your father you can pick up dinner for tonight."

"From the pub?" Harry guessed.

"We haven't eaten there in a while. Have fun. Don't buy too much for me. There's no use telling your father."

Harry walked out of the sitting room where the floo was.

"Dad?" He called.

"Upstairs."

Harry climbed the stairs, heading into his parent's bedroom. James was in the bathroom, trying to do something with his hair.

"Hey, Dad," Harry greeted.

"Hey, Son."

James pulled him into an embrace, patting his back.

"Ready to get some shopping done."

"Yeah. Do you plan to get Mum that perfume she wears?"

"Yes, I do. Why?"

Harry had the catalog for the Muggle shop he was getting the perfume from in his bag. He brought it with him from Hogwarts.

"I found out what perfume it is Ginny wears. Ron found out for me."

"Do you know what you're getting her besides the perfume?" James asked.

"No." Harry reached into the pocket of his coat, his hand closing around the mirror. "Dad, can you make another communication mirror?"

"I sure can. I was going to help Sirius make one for Hestia."

"Are they still, no pun intended, serious?"

James chuckled. "Yes, they are."

They headed downstairs and towards the back door. James slipped on his coat and grabbed the keys to the Jeep.

"The Jeep needs petrol, so I'll drive it."

Harry walked to the Jeep while James locked and warded the house.

"Have you eaten breakfast yet?" James asked as he got in the Jeep.

"No."

"Neither have I. To the diner, then."

As James pulled out of the driveway, Harry asked, "Did you take the day off from work?"

James nodded. "I did."

The drive to the diner was only five minutes away from the house. James and Harry used the time to discuss whether or not they should go to Diagon Alley.

"Maybe tomorrow will be better. Mum will be home. I know she plans on going shopping tomorrow."

"We talked the other evening about meeting somewhere when you and I were done shopping, and she would help me shop for Ginny."

"Speaking of Ginny, is the mirror for her?"

Harry nodded. "I thought she would like it."

"It would give you a way to communicate when your part," James said. "She can call you, and you can call her. I'll need to charm yours so hers will work."

James parked in a car park near the diner.

They walked into the diner. Christmas music greeted them when James opened the door.

"Hello, Potters," Gary greeted them from the counter. "How's it going?"

"Going well, Gary," James replied.

"What can I get you, gentlemen?"

"I'll have the English breakfast platter without the black pudding. Eggs over easy," James said. "And I'll have a coffee, one milk."

"I'll have the pancake platter with eggs and sausage."

"How do you want the eggs?"

"Scrambled. And I'll have a tea," Harry added.

Gary took the order to the back as James slipped off his coat, and Harry went to the loo. When he returned, Gary had brought the coffee and tea.

"Does Ginny know you're gone?"

"Yeah, she was with me when Mum told me about Remus." Harry poured some milk into his tea.

"Ron asked me to pick up some perfume for Hermione. Remind me when we get there."

James chuckled. "I will. Do you know what kind?"

"I have the catalog with me," Harry said.

James smiled. This spur-of-the-moment shopping trip was just the one-on-one time with Harry he needed. Work had been busy for the last two months. James was glad he had taken the day off. Spending it with his son was just a bonus.

"Are we going to try to get everything done this weekend?"

James shook his head before sipping on his coffee. "No, we got time."

Harry knew they had plenty of time. It was only the first of December. Surely he would get done shopping before Christmas, right?

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

The perfume shop was located in Covent Garden. Covent Garden was one of London's many shopping districts. James and Harry decided they would start there. They both knew what they were getting. It was the only place they knew they were getting. As they walked into the shop, Christmas music played on low as sales associates bustled around.

"Hello, can I help you find anything?" One of the associates asked.

"No, thank you," James said.

Harry followed him to the back of the shop. The perfume Lily was among those on display. James picked up a sample bottle and sprayed it to smell it.

"That smells like Mum," Harry commented.

James sat the sample bottle down, picking up a box. "That's one thing for Mum. Now, let's find Ginny's."

Harry pulled out the catalog as James flagged down a sales associate. "Excuse me, miss."

"Yes?" She asked.

"Can you tell us where we can find… what's it called?" He asked Harry.

"Rosewater," Harry said.

"Follow me," She directed them to a display on the other side of the shop. Harry noticed the one Ron wanted for Hermione was next to it.

"Here we are. Can I help you with anything else?"

"That's it for now," James said. "Thank you."

"Dad, the one Ron wants is right there," Harry pointed to the box marked Flower Garden.

"Good choice," James murmured.

Harry looked at the Rosewater one. He picked up the sample bottle, pressing the nozzle gently. He was immediately hit with the scent of Ginny.

James chuckled at his son's face. "That's it, isn't it?"

Harry nodded. He put the sample bottle on the shelf and picked up a box. He glanced at the price.

"Any idea on how I can hide that?" Harry asked.

"You can peel it off," James said.

They took their purchases to the till. James noted the cost of the perfume Harry picked up for Ron to convert to Wizarding currency.

"Well, where to now? Oxford Street?"

Harry nodded. "Yeah, I think so."

"Okay."

They left the shop, heading towards the car park. Oxford Street was a little too far to walk from Covent Garden.

James found a parking spot in the nearest car park. As he and Harry approached Oxford Street, James asked, "Where to first? Marks and Spencer?"

"Sure," Harry replied.

Approaching the shop, James reached the door, holding it open for an elderly couple.

The man nodded to James. "Thank you, sir."

"You're welcome."

Harry followed James into the shop, heading toward the pajamas, dressing gowns, and slippers.

"What are you looking for?" Harry asked.

"Well, I thought I would get your mother a new dressing gown."

"I could get her a new pair of slippers to go with it," Harry suggested.

"I think that's a good idea." James found the rack of dressing gowns.

Harry found the slippers and began to look through the selection. The rack was four-sided, giving Harry plenty of options.

"Dad, what size does Mum need?" Harry asked.

James told him what size Lily needed without looking up.

Harry walked to the other side of the rack. He immediately found a pair he thought Ginny would like.

"Do they have her size?" Harry whispered, pulling a piece of paper from his pocket. "Thank you, Hermione."

Hermione had helped by sneaking into the fourth-year girls' dorm to get Ginny's sizes for Harry. She also made a note of ideas for Harry. One of them was slippers.

Harry picked up a pair that looked like a teddy bear. They were a slip in style.

"That is like you step into a teddy bear," James commented, coming up behind Harry. "Is that for Mum or Ginny?"

"Ginny. What do you think?"

"I think she'll like them."

Harry walked around the next side. The only thing he had found so far was slippers for Ginny. None of the others looked like anything Lily would like.

"Let's go look at clothes," James said.

"Okay."

Harry followed James to the clothing section. Deciding to wait until Lily was with him to shop for Ginny, Harry moved on to Lily.

He looked at jumpers, not seeing any he thought Lily would like.

James held up a black and royal blue jumper. "What do you think about this?"

Harry scrunched his nose. "I don't see Mum wearing that."

James looked at it again. "What about the plain royal blue one?"

"That one I can see Mum wearing."

James nodded, agreeing. He traded the jumper in his hand for the plain royal blue one. He hung it on his arm as he continued to shop.

They were in Marks and Spencer for over an hour. In that time, Harry only had the slippers for Ginny. James had the royal blue jumper and a black and white polka-dotted smock dress.

"Where are we going now?" James asked as they waited in line at the till.

"You pick," Harry said.

"Primark?"

"Sure."

"Then we'll go to Next."

Walking into Primark, James and Harry headed towards the pajamas and dressing gowns. James knew he would have luck here looking for a dressing gown for Lily. Primark was one of Lily's favorite shops. It was where she had gotten her current dressing gown, which was a couple of years old.

Harry pulled out the list Hermione made him. She put a new dressing gown on the list. The one Ginny was currently wearing was getting worn from use. She had another one. It was newer but more for cooler weather.

"Did you make a list?" James asked.

"Hermione made one for Ginny for me," Harry explained. "She slipped into her room to see what she could use."

"What's on it?"

"Slippers was one, dressing gown is another," Harry read. "She included a few suggestions if I wanted to a stocking."

"Do you want to do a stocking for Ginny?" James asked as he browsed the rack of dressing gowns.

"I think I might."

Harry walked over to the rack of dressing gowns. He pulled one out, noticing it had a hood. It was also a zip-up style and not a tie. He could see her wearing this. He could picture sitting in front of the fire in the common room, wearing the dressing gown.

The material was so soft. Harry could imagine how warm it would be. He put the dressing gown he had pulled out back to search for Ginny's size.

He found it in grey.

James came over, a dressing gown on his arm.

"What do you think?" James asked, holding it up. It was more of a traditional dressing gown with a tie. James had picked the same grey color Harry had for Ginny's.

"Mum would like it."

"What did you find?"

Harry held up the dressing gown he had found for Ginny.

"I can see her wearing that. Nice color, too," James commented.

Like Marks and Spencer, they were in Primark for about an hour. Harry found a little pot Ginny could put her hair ties in the home section. James was looking for a mirror for Lily's vanity at Hogwarts. Harry suggested looking in the home section.

When they were headed to the till, James found a mirror. He carried it with the dressing gown.

"Do you remember Mum asking you not to go overboard?" Harry asked as they waited their turn at the till.

James nodded. "I do."

They stopped at the car to drop off the bags before heading to Next. Once in the store, Harry turned his attention to shopping for Lily.

He looked around the clothes, realizing Lily was easier to shop for then Ginny.

"Dad, what do you think of this?" Harry asked, holding up a green cardigan.

"She will like it," James said, looking at the dresses.

Harry hung the cardigan on his arm as he moved to the next rack.

"Was it difficult to shop for Mum when you first got together?" Harry asked as he browsed a rack of jumpers.

"Not really," James admitted. "I spoiled her. I bought her everything I thought she would like."

He walked over, putting his hand on Harry's shoulder. "I know why you're asking. Before, you only bought Ginny a Honeydukes selection box. It's your first Christmas together. I understand you want to make it special."

"I do," Harry said as he picked up a red jumper. "What do you think?"

"She has black jeans that would go well with that," James commented. "She'll like what you get her, Son."

Harry nodded, following James to the next section.

"Hey, Dad," Harry said.

"Yeah, Son?"

"I'm glad we're doing this today?"

James smiled, reaching back to cup the back of Harry's head. "Me too."

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

Lily was home when they returned from shopping. They took a break for lunch around noon and decided to hit up one more shop before heading home.

They left the bags with Lily's presents in the car to bring in later. Harry brought in what he had bought so far for Ginny. Lily liked the dressing gown he picked, nodded approvingly at the perfume, and thought the slippers were cute.

"You did a good job," Lily commented.

"Thanks."

"She'll love what you got her, especially the dressing gown. It looks like it would be warm."

James smiled knowingly. He had bought Lily the same dressing gown in a different color.

"Anything else you have left?" Lily asked.

"Well, Hermione made me a list of some ideas. She included a list of suggestions for a stocking."

"Boots would be a great place for stocking stuffers. Poundland too."

Lily made spaghetti for dinner. As they sat around the table, they discussed the plans for Saturday.

"I looked in the attic when I got home. We need wrapping paper, a few more boxes, and some tags. We have everything else."

"Do you plan on getting that when you're out tomorrow?" James asked.

"I do."

After dinner, while Lily and Harry were cleaning the kitchen, James brought in the bags from the car. He hid what he had purchased in the closet in the spare room. Remus was the only one who stayed there. He won't be until Christmas Eve.

He took Harry's bag with Lily's presents to his room.

Meanwhile, Harry and Lily were discussing what to get James.

"I think we'll start in Diagon Alley and then make our way to Muggle London," Lily said as she put the leftovers in the refrigerator.

"Okay, what time do you want to leave?"

"I thought we would leave around nine. Is that okay?"

"Sure."

Once the kitchen was cleaned up, Harry followed Lily up to the attic. He helped her bring down the box of wrapping paper, ribbon, and bows.

"Take them to the spare room Sirius stays in, Sweetheart," Lily called as she looked again for tags.

Harry took the boxes to the spare room next door to his bedroom. He sat the boxes on the floor, leaning the wrapping paper against the wall.

Lily came in a moment later with a smaller box. "Thank you, Sweetheart."

"You're welcome, Mum."

Harry headed to his room while Lily set up the folding table to make a wrapping station. She paused when she came across a box of Christmas cards. She would need to sit down and write a few this weekend.

She was looking through the cards, finding one in the bottom of the box from her mother. Seeing her mother's handwriting made tears well up in her eyes.

She wiped her eyes, returning the card to the box. Standing up, she headed downstairs to the family room. She found Harry and James were already in a game of Mario Kart.

Leaning against the doorway, Lily watched her boys battle for first place in the video game.

She smiled as she watched them play.

"I wouldn't care if I didn't get a single gift," she murmured. "Having both of you is all the gift I need."

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

Diagon Alley was busy on the first Saturday in December. Luckily for Harry and Lily, there were only a few places they needed to go. The first stop was Gringotts to exchange some galleons for Muggle money.

The second stop was the potions shop. Lily needed to stock up on some potion supplies. She planned to restock their potions cupboard at home before returning to Hogwarts.

Harry browsed the shop while Lily talked with the clerk.

Once they were done in the potions shop, they headed to Flourish and Botts.

"I heard about a series I think Hermione and Ginny would enjoy," Lily said as they walked into the bookshop.

Lily found the series fairly quickly. When he saw it, he remembered Ginny saying it was on her list of books she wanted to read.

"I know Ginny wanted the book," Harry said as he read the back. "Hermione would like it."

"There's another reason I came in here. I thought I'd get Hestia a stationary set, and they have pretty ones here. Are you going to be in this section?"

"Or the…"

"Quidditch section," they chorused. Lily chuckled. "Alright."

Harry headed towards the Quidditch section, but a display near the potions books stopped him. The display was a book, a biography of Lily's favorite potioneer. According to the sign, it was just released.

Looking around for Lily, Harry pulled out his communication mirror.

"Dad."

In a flash, Harry saw the ceiling of James's study.

"Dad," he repeated.

James's face appeared in the mirror. "Hey, everything okay?"

"Yeah, everything's fine. You know Mum's favorite potioneer?"

"Yeah, I heard she's releasing a book," James trailed off as Harry turned the mirror facing the display. "Get one of the signed copies, and I'll pay you back."

"Okay. I got to hurry up. Mum will be back any minute," Harry said. "She's in the shop," he added.

"Okay. Thanks, Son. I'm working on the mirror for Ginny."

"Thanks, Dad."

Harry hung up with James and approached the display. He picked up one marked signed copy and headed towards the Quidditch section.

He found what he was looking for there, a signed copy of The History of the Appleby Arrows.

He headed to the till before Lily saw the book he was picking up for James.

"Can you mark that one?" Harry asked as the girl wrapped up the potioneer's book.

"Sure thing, dear," she said.

Harry paid for the books and moved to wait near the sitting area for Lily.

He saw her in line at the till with the stationary and a book. The same book Harry had bought for Hermione and Ginny.

"Where to now?" Lily asked when she approached her son.

"Are we ready to head to Muggle London?"

Lily nodded. "I think we are."

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

Harry found himself in some of the same shops he was in the day before. They had started at Primark. It was one of Lily's favorite shops. Harry followed her as they browsed the men's section and looked briefly in the women's section.

"Mum, what would Hestia like?"

"I thought you could get her a necklace or earrings. Whatever you think she would like," Lily said.

Harry nodded.

They looked in the jewelry, where Harry found a pair of earrings Lily thought Hestia would like.

After Harry bought the earrings, Lily suggested they go to Marks and Spencer. Harry knew two things Lily would buy here James's undershirts and socks. According to James Potter, undershirts, pants, and socks weren't Christmas.

Lily didn't care.

Once they entered the store, Lily led them toward the men's. To no surprise to Harry, she picked up a pack of James's undershirts, pants, and socks.

"I know your father's feeling about getting these for Christmas, but he needs them," Lily said as she dumped them into the trolley.

They headed towards the clothes, where Lily pulled out a burgundy jumper.

"This would go with his grey trousers. He could put his navy shirt under it," Lily said.

Harry noticed the one difference between shopping with James and shopping with Lily. James would pick out something for Lily, talking about how it would look on her. Lily would pair it with what he had, putting together an outfit. An outfit James wouldn't put together himself.

"What do you think?" Lily asked.

"It's nice."

Harry looked around while Lily browsed the dress clothes.

Before they headed to the till, they looked around the grocery part of the store, picking out some of the M&S Christmas snacks.

When they made it to the till, Lily had for James undershirts, boxers, socks, thermal shirts and pants, and the burgundy jumper. She picked up some thermal shirts and pants for Harry and went ahead and picked up boxers for Harry.

"Let's go to John Lewis," Lily said once they finished in Marks and Spencer.

Lily knew what she was looking for when they walked into John Lewis. She headed straight to the men's department. She decided to get James a new suit. They had come here to buy one when he was promoted to Deputy Head Auror in July.

She loved the charcoal suit he had picked. The suit was of good quality, James had received many good compliments on it.

Lily browsed the shirt and ties as Harry carried the suit. She picked a blue shirt with a black and blue tie to go with the suit.

They were not in John Lewis very long. Harry thought it was the shortest he had ever been in a shop with Lily.

"Where to now, Mum?" Harry asked.

"Are you getting hungry?" Lily inquired.

"Yeah. Can we go to Pizza Express?"

"Sure."

Pizza Express was close to John Lewis. They would take a break for lunch, discuss what they had left to buy, and then continue shopping.

"After lunch, we'll go shopping for Ginny. I want to get her a few things myself."

"Okay. Hey, Mum?"

"Yes?"

"Thanks."

"You're welcome."

"I'm glad we were able to do this," Harry said, repeating the same words he had said to James the day before.

Lily reached over, pulling Harry's head close. She pressed a kiss to his head. "Me too."

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

Before heading home, Harry and Lily stopped at Poundland. Lily only needed a few things, mainly gift bags and cards. While in Poundland, Harry picked up a Cadbury selection box for Ginny.

Ginny loved chocolate but never had Cadbury chocolate.

James was in his office when they got home. Lily sent Harry to distract him while she brought in the bags. She hid them in the room Remus stayed in when he slept over. She glanced towards the door before she pulled out her wand. With a wave, she locked the closet door.

Leaving the room, she headed downstairs to begin dinner.

Harry came in from the car with the stuff he had bought for Ginny and James.

He asked Lily if she needed help with dinner. She shook her head, waving him on to put away the gifts he got.

While Harry headed to his room, James peeked into the kitchen.

"Is Harry upstairs?"

"Yes, he is," Lily murmured, looking in the refrigerator. She closed the door to the fridge, opening the freezer door. She pulled out beef patties for hamburgers.

James walked into the kitchen holding a bag from Woolworths.

"I went shopping today too."

He pulled out a CD player. It was a Walkman like the tape player Harry had. James then pulled out the CDs he had picked. He almost had all of Harry's tapes replaced with a CD version.

"I told Sirius what I got. He's getting a few of the others."

Lily hummed, acknowledging she heard him.

"Hogsmeade is next weekend. I'm going to London for the day and shop for Harry. Would you like to meet for lunch?"

"Sure," James replied.

Lily started making the burgers. She got out a bag of chips from the freezer, pouring them onto a tray. Opening the oven, she put the tray of chips into the oven.

Harry came downstairs as Lily pulled the chips out of the oven.

"Burgers and chips?"

"I need to use up the patties," Lily explained. "Make your own."

As they ate dinner, they reviewed the plans for Christmas. James found out when the Aurors' Christmas party would be.

"We are going to have a small lunch right before Christmas. Could you make some biscuits or something?"

"Sure," Lily said. "St. Mungo's is having their Christmas party the weekend before the train."

"So, I don't have to go?" Harry asked.

"No. But the potions department is collecting toys for the children in the hospital."

"When are they doing that?"

"The 23rd."

Harry remembers going to the toy store and picking out toys for the sick kids in the hospital. He would go with Lily to drop them off, but now they help hand out toys. Lily enjoyed watching Harry interact with the younger children. They never said anything about who Harry was. Like anytime they went out into the wizarding world, Harry's scar was covered up with his hair.

"I'll go to that," Harry said, taking his plate to the sink. "May I be excused?"

"Yes, you may," Lily replied.

Harry kissed her cheek before heading upstairs. He headed to his bedroom and began sorting out Ginny's presents. He checked the list Hermione had made him. As he checked off each item, he rewrote the list on clean parchment paper.

Looking at the presents he had purchased for Ginny, Harry took a deep breath. He wasn't done yet.

"Hope she likes everything," Harry murmured.

He moved Ginny's presents to the closet, not really hiding them. It didn't matter. Ginny wouldn't be in his room.

James was almost done with the mirror. When James finished it, Harry will put it in the closet with the rest of Ginny's presents.

"She'll love what you got her."

Harry turned at the voice. Hestia was leaning against the doorway of his room.

"How do you know that?" Harry asked.

"Because they came from you." Hestia walked in. She leaned down to press a kiss on Harry's head.

"Thanks, Hestia."

"And it won't be too much. Ginny deserves to be spoiled."

"She does," Harry agreed. "She's put up with me for almost two months."

Hestia chuckled. "I wouldn't say that. Get your shoes and your coat. Sirius and I are taking you for ice cream."

"Okay."

Hestia walked out of Harry's room, heading downstairs.

"Two hours enough? Hestia asked.

"More than enough," Lily assured her. "I know you want to spend time with Harry."

Hestia nodded.

Harry came downstairs as Sirius walked out of James's study.

"Ready to go?"

"Yeah."

Once Sirius, Hestia, and Harry left, James turned to Lily.

"Let's get wrapping."

OoOoOoOoOoOoO

Ginny was sitting in an armchair near the fire in the common room when the portrait hole opened, and Harry walked in.

She didn't notice her boyfriend was back until he kissed her cheek.

"Hello, beautiful," he greeted.

"Hello, handsome." She pulled him in for a kiss. "How's Remus?"

"Better. Mum checked on him when we came back. Sirius is teaching on his own tomorrow. Mum ordered Remus to rest one more day."

"What's wrong with him?"

"He's got a cold." Harry snorted. "He's not dramatic like Dad or Sirius when they're sick."

Ginny chuckled. "Act like they are dying?"

Harry nodded. "Pretty much."

Ginny moved to make room for Harry. He sat down beside her laying his head on her shoulder.

"Tired?" Ginny asked.

Harry nodded.

"Are we still going to Hogsmeade this weekend?"

"Yes, I'm not done."

"Hermione suggested we split up. Meet for lunch at The Three Broomsticks. Then we'll go shopping together."

"You and Hermione go one way, and Ron and I go another? And we'll meet for lunch?"

"Yes," Ginny said, reaching up to run her fingers through his hair.

"Okay."

Ginny heard Harry's breathing even out.

Pulling out her wand, she summoned a blanket. Covering herself and Harry with the blanket, she settled into the chair. Harry snuggled up to her, his head on her shoulder.

Ginny slipped his glasses off, laying them on the side table. She pressed a kiss on his forehead and wrapped her arms around him. With the warmth of the fire, blanket, and Harry's body heat, she sighed, letting herself fall asleep.
