Kai and Lucario stood facing the group of soldiers and their mammoth of a leader. Behind them lay a large pile of rubble. Kai looked past the soldiers at the broken wall and rubble. "What were they removing and why?" Kai thought to himself as he tried to put pieces of it together. A sudden realization came to him just then. That wall had scriptures and ancients writings all over it. Kai remembered seeing it vaguely when passing through the city. Kai wanted to punch himself since he couldn't remember what exactly was on it. To be fair though, it is kind of hard to memorize ancient writing when an angry Lucario is firing aura spheres at you since you pulled on his ear a little too hard.
"You got a problem brat?" Get out of here before ya get hurt." The leader of the group stated, pointing towards the city exit.
"Yeah I kind of do have a problem. Why the hell are you so big? You look like a Snorlax who ate another Snorlax!" Kai said smiling, openly mocking the leader of the group to his face.
"Last chance kid." the leader warned, baring his teeth in frustration
"I mean, he does have a point. You do look awfully similar to a Snorlax on steroids." Lucario said, snickering all the while. The leader looked down at the floor, then back to his men, then back to Lucario and Kai, before lifting up his hand. Suddenly, the eleven soldiers armed themselves with their electrical bars. Kai's eyes opened widely, traumatizing memories replaying back in his head.
"Oh you've got to be kidding me!" Kai shouted out loud in anger. Lucario held back a laugh, instead opting to give orders to his trainer.
"I'll take the soldiers, I'll let you have Snorlax" Lucario said, patting Kai on the shoulder before rushing off using bone rush. Kai put both of his hands to his face and screamed as loud as he could before looking up at Snorlax.
"Guess it's just you and me now little guy"
"What are you gonna do? Eat me?"
Meanwhile, Lucario was holding his own against 11 soldiers equipped with electrical bars. Lucario threw aura spheres at two soldiers, knocking them down temporarily. When one soldier closed in on Lucario, Lucario swept his legs out from underneath him before using force palm to his chest, effectively incapacitating him from the fight. "Well that's one man down…" Lucario thought before jumping off a soldiers head, seemingly gliding across the sky above their heads. Lucario then accelerated downwards, using metal claw on the way down to knock another soldier out. After landing, Lucario noticed he was surrounded by four soldiers.
Knowing he was cornered, Lucario closed his eyes, pulsing his aura past him to sense his surroundings and their movements. The first soldier swung out his weapon horizontally. Sensing this, Lucario leaned backwards, almost defying gravity in order to dodge the strike. The second soldier swung his weapon downwards. To counter this, Lucario stepped sideways, letting the soldier swinging his weapon hit the first soldier, knocking him out. With the second soldier completely distracted and shocked at hitting one of his comrades, Lucario used close combat to overwhelm the other two soldiers. After a few seconds, those soldiers dropped to the floor, unconscious from the overwhelming strikes Lucario had landed. Just when the remaining soldier had regained his common sense, he was hit into a truck by Lucario's force palm, removing him from the fight. "That's six down". Lucario thought while smirking. A fatal mistake Lucario made during this fight, however, was ignoring the two soldiers nervously speaking to each other.
"Quickly, go get him from his pokeball. We won't stand a chance without him." The first soldier aggressively told the second, who nodded in fear and ran inside the truck.
While Lucario was taking out the soldiers one by one, Kai knew he had the pleasure of fighting Snorlax. How did Kai know he had this pleasure? Well, he first knew after having the fantastic experience of being thrown into the second truck, making a human sized dent on the side before dropping onto the rocky terrain.
"Fuck that's gonna hurt tomorrow." Kai said to himself before rolling to the side to avoid the large slim sword that sliced into spot he was just laying on. "I wonder how May is doing during all of this." Kai thought to himself after dodging yet another sword strike from Snorlax.
Meanwhile. May sat inside her aura shield, absolutely fuming. For several minutes, May banged onto the aura shield with her hands. It took her a second before she realized that she could do the most logical thing in this situation and try to have one of her Pokemon break through it. May tried using every Pokemon she had on her. Her Blaziken, Beautifully, Munchlax, Venasaur, Skitty, and Glaceon all failed at breaking the aura shield. While it would be great to have all of her Pokemon fire at the same time, she doubted that the ten foot sphere could hold all six of her Pokemon and herself. Eventually, May gave up her efforts and sat down. Instead, she thought of all the ways she could punish Kai and get him back for trapping her during a dangerous situation where she could help them. She had capable Pokemon just like Kai. What did Kai have that she didn't? May was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard somebody approaching the aura shield.
"Oh my god are you ok?" a young girl asked May. The girl had black hair which wasn't in any particular hairstyle but just let down. She looked to be Kai and May's age. She had brown eyes and a worried expression on her face. May thought she was extremely pretty and couldn't help but be a bit jealous.
"No my friend's Lucario trapped me in here so I wouldn't get hurt. Do you know what's going on?" May asked, worried that the girl didn't know what she just walked into.
"I heard what was going on. I was travelling to Oreburgh City and when I heard the blasts, I rushed over here thinking something was wrong. Clearly I was right. Here, let me help you get out of this." The girl said as she pulled out two of her pokeballs and threw them. A Meganium and a Camperupt appeared, determined to help their trainer.
"What's your name?" the girl asked
"My names May." May responded, relieved that someone was willing to help her out of this predicament.
"Alright May, I'm gonna help you out. You should probably take a step back." the girl said with a determined face.
"Meganium, use Leaf Storm on the sphere! Camperupt, you use Flash Cannon"! The girl ordered her Pokemon, hoping to break the shield. May stepped back, just in case the attacks broke the shield. The attacks landed and a small explosion went off. When the smoke cleared, however, the shield was still up.
"Damn. I have more Pokemon but I'm afraid that if I let them all fire out powerful attacks, the shield could break and the blast could harm you. I don't think there's anything I could do." the girl said with a sad expression, avoiding contact with May's eyes.
May's heart dropped and she felt hopeless. Suddenly, her eyes shot open, an idea coming to mind. Her Pokemon couldn't break the shield firing from the inside. The girl's Pokemon couldn't break the shield firing from the outside. But what if the two of them coordinated their Pokémon's attacks to fire at the exact same spot, from the inside and outside of the shield. May had no idea whether this would work, but it did seem like a decent idea. Besides, the two of them had run out of ideas. This seemed like their best shot. May walked closer to the girl so the two of them were close and only separated by the shield. May explained her plan to the girl, who's demeanor shifted, hopeful that this could work. May let out her strongest Pokemon, her Blaziken, to fire a concentrated Flamethrower while Meganium fired a frenzy plant at the same spot. The aura shield fluttered for a second, seemingly only giving out for a split second, before it entirely collapsed. The two girls celebrated by high fiving each other and praising their Pokemon.
Kai sidestepped the large sword for what felt like the hundredth time, before throwing his arm back and punching the leader across the face with all the power his aura could provide. While any normal soldier would be easily knocked out and in concussion protocol, the leader merely stepped backwards due to the force of the punch, before using his right leg to kick Kai's chest, sending Kai flying backwards a few feet before landing on his back. "God, if only I brought all my Pokemon with me, this would be so much easier. I'm so stupid." Kai thought to himself. When Kai lifted his head up, he saw Snorlax ready to swing his sword downwards into Kai. Panicking for a split second, Kai noticed that one of the trucks doors was no longer attached to the car. Kai figured this was most likely from Lucario absolutely sending somebody into that truck with no remorse, making even Kai wince at how bad that had to have hurt.
"Aw screw it." Kai thought as he grabbed the door with both hands before putting it in front of his head, hoping for it to stop the strike. Well, he was partially right. Partially. The swords tip penetrated through the door, stopping inches from Kai's eye. It would have been a lot more helpful using an aura shield to block that strike. Unfortunately, Kai was not at that stage yet with his aura training. Kai only knew how to use aura to make him stronger, faster, and quicker, along with having the skill to produce and fire aura spheres. Kai had yet to master advanced techniques such as an aura shield, or being able to produce weapons such as a sword using aura. Not wasting any time, Kai kicked the shin of Snorlax. Due to the kick being unexpected, the leader fell down to one knee, grunting in pain. Taking advantage of the leader being stunned, Kai used his other leg to kick the leader's nose directly, hearing a *crunch* as he did so.
"How's it going over there Lucario? I bet your having a way better time than me dealing with Snorlax on steroids!" Kai stated angrily, still upset Lucario had forced him to deal with this soldier who was anything but human.
"Oh I am Master! No need to worry about me!" Lucario replied nonchalantly while remaining focused. In front of him were four more soldiers. Lucario knew that there was a fifth somewhere but he couldn't deal with him until the four enemies in front of him were taken care of. Using bone rush, Lucario swung downwards with his bone, connecting into the ground. The earth shook, making the soldiers stumble. Lucario took advantage of this by using focus blast on two of the soldiers, taking them out for good. The other two soldiers rushed at Lucario, who used Metal Claw and Shadow Claw on both of them at the same time. Both soldiers fell unconscious.
"One more to go." Lucario thought to himself, smiling at how easy this challenge was. Feeling kind today, he decided he would help aid Kai in his fight once he dealt with the last soldier. Seeing the last soldier inside the truck, Lucario used extreme speed to catch him off guard, before throwing him out of the truck. Having him on the floor, Lucario lifted up his paw, ready to use force palm to knock out the final soldier. Lucario stopped, however, after seeing the soldier smirked. Confused, Lucario took a moment before eventually shrugging and knocking him out. Just as Lucario was about to walk away from the soldier to help Kai, he was hit by a hyper beam, sending him rolling across the ground. Battered and bruised, Lucario was able to push himself off the ground to see the enemy. A Dragonite hovered in the air, looking very pissed off and ready to fight. Lucario readied two aura spheres in both hands, knowing this would be a difficult challenge.
"Had enough yet Snorlax?" Kai asked as he kneed the leader in his face while he was crouched, knocking him back to the floor. The leader grunted in pain, struggling to get back up. His sword was still stuck in the door, leaving him without his weapon. Once again, Kai punched Snorlax across the face, leaving him with a split lip on top of a broken nose. Snorlax didn't look so good anymore but neither did Kai. Kai had multiple cuts across his face and upper body. He could already feel a bad one above his right eye, pissed off knowing that cut would definitely need stitches. Kai's ribs also felt on fire due to having been broken just yesterday. Nurse Joy definitely wouldn't recommend being thrown into a truck while having broken ribs. Kai dragged the leader to where he was sitting up, leaning against the trucks tire. Kai then looked at Lucario, seeing him battling a Dragonite. While Lucario was struggling a little bit, most likely being a bit fatigued and he was also fighting a pseudo legendary, Kai trusted Lucario and knew he could handle it. Besides, Kai had his own problem.
"What were you guys doing here? What does Chaos want in Sinnoh? What does Giratina have with your guy's plans?" Kai asked threateningly, holding Snorlax by his army vest with both hands.
"I'm not telling you shit kid. Now you can go fu-" Snorlax was interrupted so rudely as Kai punched him across the face again, before holding his head up with one hand.
'Sorry, what were you saying again Steroids? I think I lost you for a second." Kai remarked cockily, crouching down to where his eyes where level with the leader.
"Chaos plans to use Giratina to remake the world we have. The worlds screwed. It's corrupted, filled with greed. We're past the point of rebuilding and improving. We need to tear it down before rebuilding. All..Of…It." The Leader spat out, glaring at Kai. Kai had his mouth open, shocked at Chaos's plans before glaring back at him.
"And guess what kid. You can't stop it. No one can." The Leader whispered to Kai before flicking his eyes to the right, motioning Kai to look that direction. Kai did and his heart pounded at seeing the flashbang held by Snorlax, before it went off not even a second after. The flash blinded Kai, who fell backwards completely dazed and absolutely out of it. His ears were ringing and everything was white. He should have not been so distracted to see such a trick. Snorlax used the opportunity to distract Kai with their plans while preparing to escape.
Realizing that trying to find the leader would be impossible while still being blind from the flashbang, Kai closed his eyes and pulsed out his aura, attempting to locate his aura signature. However, the only present aura signatures were those of Lucario and Dragonite, who were still fighting. However, Kai noticed that Dragonite's aura signature was weaker than Lucario's, meaning that he was close to being finished by Lucario. After a few more seconds, Kai regained his sense of hearing and vision. Lucario fired another aura sphere after deflecting a thunderbolt from the Dragonite with his bone. The aura sphere connected with Dragonite, almost knocking him out completely. Knowing it was on it's last legs, Dragonite did a last ditch effort and fired a hyper beam at the tank's engine, hoping for the explosion to take out Lucario and his trainer. Lucario noticed this and used extreme speed towards Kai, hoping to take them out of the blast radius. Lucario was able to make it to Kai and drag him a couple feet in the span of a split second before the explosion went off from the hyper beam. The force of the explosion alone blasted the two of them back at a dangerous speed. Kai barely had time to register what had occurred before the world went black.
Chapter 6 everybody! I've decided to include Sarah in the group so for sure, it's Kai, May, and Sarah right now. If you couldn't already tell, that girl that helped May is Sarah. I didn't introduce her by her name because I had a good idea for a conversation that reveals Sarah to May. I will include three of my favorite OC's into the story so that makes the group six.
