It was early in the morning when Sarah woke up. Sarah got up tiredly from bed, not sleeping well due to the events from yesterday. It was currently 7AM, the morning after Operation Enlightenment. Having only slept a couple hours, Sarah left her room after brushing her teeth, getting dressed, and eating quickly.

Sarah wore athletic shorts, along with a black workout crop top. She went into the weight room, working out for about an hour before leaving. She had to be doing something to get her mind off of the mission and Kai. She had been thinking about the two all night. She refused to give it more thought.

Curious of how Leaf was doing, the blonde-haired trainer walked to the Med Bay, entering her room quietly. The majority of the group had gotten the chance to speak with her last night after the debriefing with Cynthia. All things considered; Leaf was faring quite well. She was an extremely strong woman and trained, after all.

Sarah opened the door as quietly as she could, seeing Leaf laying down on her bed with her leg heavily bandaged. Leaf opened her eyes slightly, hearing somebody open the door. Sarah cursed quietly as she took a seat next to Leaf, having not wanted to wake the older girl up.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up." Sarah apologized as held Leaf's hand in both of hers. Leaf smiled kindly at this before responding.

"It's ok, Sarah. I honestly don't mind. How are you?" Leaf questioned the stunning blonde, surprising Sarah.

"Me? Forget me, Leaf. How are you?" Sarah said worriedly.

"I'm fine, I promise. I was in a bad place mentally because of what happened to Kai, but I'm a lot more coherent now." Leaf assured Sarah, now sitting up in her bed.

The two continued to talk for a few minutes. They spoke about how they thought Kai was, the failed mission, and how everyone was doing so far. They were speaking about Hilbert arguing with Cynthia yesterday until they heard the door open, making both of them turn their heads to the noise.

Cynthia walked into the room, smiling kindly as she stood in front of the two girls.

"I'm sorry to interrupt you two. How are you both feeling?" Cynthia asked the two. Honestly, Leaf and Sarah were tired of hearing that question, especially in their time being involved in Project Giratina.

"We're fine, Cynthia. Any update on Kai?" Leaf asked hopefully. Her heart dropped slightly, however, when Cynthia shook her head.

"Negative. His tracker still hasn't turned on, so we have no idea where he is. There are still other measures that we can use, but only in the most extreme situations. We have to wait longer." Cynthia said shamefully, slightly disappointed in herself as the leader of the organization. Something like this should have never happened.

Sarah and Leaf lowered their heads at this, staring at the ground. After a moment, Sarah raised her head when she remembered a question, she had wanted to ask Cynthia.

"Cynthia, why was the Mission called Operation Enlightenment?" Sarah asked, confused with the name. Cynthia smiled slightly, before responding.

"It was called Operation Enlightenment because I wanted you all to learn that you didn't need Kai. That you were able to complete a mission without his help. To be enlightened about this truth."

Leaf scoffed at this, before speaking. "So much for that." Leaf said quietly, seeing how untrue Cynthia's intentions were.

Actually, I believe that I wasn't wrong. Never mind, I know that I wasn't wrong. You all were still able to complete the mission, which was to secure the warehouse and capture all Chaos soldiers, along with their transport. You all completed the Operation successfully." Cynthia stated proudly.

Leaf and Sarah nodded, understanding where the Champion was coming from. It still wasn't satisfying, since Kai still had to save one of their asses and be harmed in the process. It did not feel good at all.

"I just hope that he's ok." Leaf stated, with Cynthia and Sarah agreeing.

"I'm sure he is. You know how Kai is. He's probably making jokes at this moment." Cynthia joked with the two girls smiling at the thought.

Kai's head was thrown sideways, the punch from the large muscular man landing brutally across his face. Kai's body leaned that way as well, his chair almost tipping over due to the force of the punch. Blood flew out of his mouth due to the collision of the fist.

"Is that all you got? I swear a Magikarp can punch harder than you can! A Magikarp doesn't even have hands!" Kai spat out, laughing at the two large soldiers. They had been beating him for about ten minutes now, taking turns punching him across the face, stomach, and chest. While they definitely packed a punch, Kai refused to give them the satisfaction of knowing their hits actually hurt the teenager.

The soldier growled after hearing Kai, throwing a punch across Kai's cheek again, cutting the skin open and creating a cut under his right eye. Kai's vision became blurry after the punch, struggling to see clearly. "Wow, that one hurt really bad." Kai thought to himself as he struggled to compose himself.

Kai grunted in pain; his face covered in cut from the beating he had been receiving. Glaring at the soldiers in front of him, Kai spit blood onto his face, feeling a sense of pride seeing it hit him. The soldier remained still, before wiping the blood off his face with his hand. Without being able to defend himself, the soldier punched Kai's stomach harshly, hearing a crack once he was hit.

"AGHHH you bitch!" Kai cried out in pain, clenching his jaw to prevent himself from screaming. That punch had definitely cracked one of his ribs. Or two. At this point, the aura user had an obsession with breaking his ribs.

"We're just getting started here kid." The second soldier laughed, as the two Chaos members left the room, leaving Kai to himself with his injuries. Kai struggled to breath due to his ribs, attempting to recompose himself. After a moment, Kai was able to become slightly accustomed to the painful feeling whenever he had to breathe.

Brushing it aside, the Kanto-born trainer assessed his injuries. Kai's face and body were definitely beginning to bruise and bleed with cuts, but nothing was serious. Except for the cracked rib that he just received. Blood trailed down his face due to the several cuts from the punches, some of them definitely requiring stitches.

Fortunately, Kai was able to withstand the beating and only suffer one major injury.

"Arceus, this sucks. Fuck my hero complex." Kai muttered, spitting blood onto the floor after.

"When will I get my chance to break him?" Special Agent Nine asked respectfully. The built boss faced her, still sitting on his chair. The boss's gray eyes stared at her, their sharp and intimidating appearance made Nine slightly nervous.

"Patience, Esperanza." The boss said, referring to her by her first name. "You know the plan. You were the one who recommended that he undergo a few days of torture before you attempt to invade his mind using your psychic powers. He's too strong right now. Kai will be broken." The boss said, clenching his hand in a fist tightly, before releasing it as he poured himself a drink. The boss poured two glasses of whiskey, offering one to Nine. Nine accepted the glass, downing the whiskey in one gulp before placing the glass against the desk.

The boss smiled slightly at this, before speaking.

"I knew you would redeem yourself Esperanza. This was the first time you were under real adversity, having failed in your mission weeks ago. However, you rose up to the challenge. There's been one thing I've known about you since your involvement in Chaos. You crave to be the best." The boss said while drinking the alcohol, his last sentence hitting the nail on the head.

Nine winced at his words internally but didn't let her face show it. The boss was absolutely correct. It's why she started working for Chaos in the first place. She didn't want to climb the ranks of a powerful organization. No, not at all. She NEEDED to. It was her lust for being the greatest at what she did that pulled her to Chaos. Now, she knew that the boss recognized that.

"You've wanted to be the best ever since you joined as a grunt. Congratulations Anza, you are the best." The boss said, lifting his glass up in celebration before continuing. "That's why you were able to capture this aura guardian. You envied his power and strength. It consumed you, making it your mission to prove that you were stronger than him. And that right there Nine, is exactly what you did!" The boss yelled loudly, grinning widely at Nine. Nine flinched, hearing the boss raise his voice, before straightening back up.

"Thank you, sir. However, we both know that the job isn't finished." Nine told the short haired man.

"You're absolutely right. The boy will suffer. Only after he suffers enough, will he be allowed to die." The boss said darkly.

Nine's mouth stretched into a smile at hearing this, due to the deep hatred and resentment she had for Kai. It wasn't because of his attitude, or appearance, or because he was part of Cynthia's little gang. It was due to his power. Kai would soon be killed, proving that she was the stronger individual.

"Do you plan on seeing the boy?" Nine asked curiously.

"Tomorrow. Hell, I even plan on introducing myself. I want the boy to know who will recreate the world and shape it into something purer. It won't matter that I reveal myself, considering he will die alone soon." The boss stated, finishing his glass of whiskey and leaning back into his chair.

"I'll speak to you soon concerning the third piece of the necklace. Special Agent Steel and a group of soldiers with him were able to steal the necklace and are now laying low. They're camped out in an underground bunker, a few miles away from Sunyshore City. I assume that they will be hiding for a few more weeks before attempting to transport the necklace. There's too much heat on them, since almost everyone is scanning the area for them." The boss explained, Nine nodding in response.

"Great job, Esperanza. You're dismissed."

Harley sat inside his room alone, reading through some legends about Arceus. While he knew most of the information he was reading on his laptop, he couldn't help it, since it was a topic the young man was extremely interested about. After reading through the information for thirty minutes, Harley got bored, closing his laptop.

Having nothing better to do, Harley groaned as he knew he had yet to give the Boss a weekly report. Harley called the untraceable number saved on his phone, pressing it against his ear for a few seconds before the call was answered.

"It is good to hear from you, Harley." The boss stated, seeming in bright spirits. Usually, the boss would remain quiet until you were finished speaking. It was extremely rare for him to greet somebody, especially over the phone. Harley knew the reason for his positive mood.

"Thank you, sir. I have an update regarding my time here. I heard Kai was apprehended by S.A Nine. The team is falling apart as a result of this. Cynthia looks lost over here. They're all shaken up."

The boss smiled, hearing that Project Giratina was suffering due to Kai being captured. He was also well aware of Operation Enlightenment, with Harley informing solely the Boss a few minutes before they left their HQ. Harley stressed the importance of alerting no one else in order to solidify his position as a Ghost. However, it was the Boss's decision to have Special Agent Nine near the scene, to apprehend Kai. Things didn't go according to plan, considering Kai didn't even go to the Mission. Special Agent Nine wasn't a talented member of the organization for no reason, though, since she improvised and still managed to have the aura user surrender himself.

While the Boss could have simply had a large group of soldiers attempt to stop the group, they would surely alert the entire group and possibly fail. He knew that it would be much smarter to have Agent Nine silently catch Kai by herself, without making her presence known. An army of soldiers wouldn't be anywhere as capable as Nine was in her mission to capture Kai.

The two continued to talk on the phone, mostly about their upcoming plans and what was occurring. After about five minutes, Chaos's leader ended the conversation.

"Keep me updated, Harley. Remember, we will be transporting Death's Crown soon. Once we do that, you will no longer be needed as a spy, since your cover will be blown. I don't care how you do it. Bring me the second piece of the necklace. I'm confident that Agent Steel and Nine will be able to get me the third." The boss said, hanging up after making his orders clear. Chaos was striving, while the Ghosts were drowning, barely keeping their heads above the water.
