Chapter 29 everybody! I'm warning you guys now that the story is going to get a bit darker, more violent, and gruesome. It won't be bad, but I haven't written anything gruesome or dark in this story so far, so it's a bit of a change. REVIEW and hope you all enjoy!

Also, I made an editing mistake on the last chapter. Harley informed the Boss of the mission. It was the Boss's idea to set up Nine outside the area, with the sole mission of apprehending Kai. It was not their goal to stop the group. They just wanted to capture Kai.

Last thing, I swear! I'm starting to write another story, which will most likely slow down some updates for this story. However, I wil continue both and I would love for you all to check it out! The story is called Pokemon: World Turns To Ash!

The white rag covered Kai's face, sticking tightly against his mouth and nose. Kai struggled to push his head up and remove the towel but was unable to. Two Chaos soldiers held his head back, while the metal chains restricted his limbs from moving.

Kai couldn't see due to the rag blinding and suffocating him, but he could envision Nine watching him being tortured, smiling like the freak Kai thought she was. The aura user was choking on the wet rag, unable to breath. Nine continued to pour water from a bucket on the rag, making sure that Kai couldn't have a single breath of air.

This continued for thirty more seconds, Kai almost losing consciousness from the lack of oxygen. Thankfully for him, the Chaos soldiers took the rag off and let him get a fresh breath of air. Kai was able to heave two mouthfuls of air before the Chaos soldiers pressed the rag against him again, Nine pouring more water.

Chaos continued to waterboard him for thirty more minutes. They repeated the process of letting him almost pass out from the lack of air, before releasing the rag. They let him get only a bit of air before suffocating him once again. The method was brutal, waterboarding being a much worse torture method than simply being punched in the face.

The rag was lifted off him for what felt like the hundredth time. Kai gasped for air, seeing Agent Nine smirking at his suffering. The two soldiers backed away from Kai, leaving Kai staring at the violet haired woman while trying to catch his breath. This was the second or third time that Kai had seen the young woman without her mask. She wore her black skull mask during missions, wearing it while capturing Leaf and apprehending him.

Without the mask, Kai was able to analyze her face. Even though she was a complete douchebag, she was a beautiful woman. Nine looked to be about eighteen years old, with dark gray eyes and her hair let down to reach her waist. She had a slightly tan complexion, showing some of her skin due to wearing a casual outfit once again. Kai didn't notice this, obviously, since she always wore her black jumpsuit.

"Have you had enough yet?" Violet asked, grabbing the teenager's hair and pulling his head back so that he would be looking up at her face. Kai winced at this, his head pulled back harshly.

"Sorry, I don't have feelings for you. You're cute and all but you're not my type." Kai joked, grinning while his head was being held by Nine's hand. Nine smiled at this for a second, before punching Kai's stomach hard, knowing that his rib was cracked or broken.

"Fuck!" Kai shouted, the pain exploding across the left side of his stomach.

"You're going to learn, Kai. I will break you. It's only been two days since you've been here, and I could already sense your pain. Give up now and I'll make your death painless. Tell me everything you know."

Kai hesitated for a few seconds, not responding. Nine raised an eyebrow at this, noticing his hesitation and believing that he would submit to Chaos. Kai was fighting an internal battle. It would be so easy to give up. The pain would end. During his stay with Chaos, he barely ate or drank anything. Hell, he had been let out of the chair only twice in the past two days, and that was only for the bathroom. Kai wanted more than anything to give in. All he had to do was tell her what she wanted to know. The aura user's lungs burned, due to his broken rib and being waterboarded for so long. His body begged for the pain to stop, hoping for some kind of relief.

Kai opened his mouth, prepared to give up. However, images of his team appeared in his head. Sarah, May, Seiya, Silas, Leaf, Hilbert, Hilda, Cynthia, even fucking Harley. He would be betraying them, giving up everything they worked for. All so Kai could feel better. Kai smirked, looking up at Nine while being restrained by the metal chains.

"Hey, why is your nickname Nine? You're really as significant as a damn number?" Kai asked, smirking at the insult he threw towards the Chaos soldier. Agent Nine growled hearing this, about to strike Kai before she stopped a few inches from her face.

"Get the taser and refill the water bucket." The purple haired woman ordered the other two soldiers. Not wasting any time, they walked away to complete their given orders.

"Wow, how original, Barney." Kai said while rolling his eyes.

A minute later, both soldiers came in with a bucket of water and a handheld taser. Without giving her the bucket, one of the soldiers tossed the majority of the cold water on Kai, drenching him once again. With the bucket having a little bit of water, the soldier set it underneath Kai, placing his feet inside of the bucket filled with water.

The second soldier gave the taser to Nine, who grinned once receiving the weapon. Kai mentally cursed, knowing this was going to hurt like a bitch.

Not wasting any time, Nine turned on the taser and pressed it against Kai's neck for a few seconds. Kai screamed immediately, feeling thousands of volts of electricity coursing through his body. The voltage and pain multiplied, due to Kai being drenched in water. This was by far, the worse they had done yet. Nine smirked, knowing that his suffering would only become worse as time progressed. Their methods would become more painful and more threatening.

Agent Nine laughed at Kai screaming, enjoying his suffering. Their Nine felt no sympathy upon hurting the teenager. She only cared about herself and her own interests, pressing the taser against the boy once again.

Kai gritted his teeth tightly, his body shaking violently due to the electric shock. "They'll come and get you. You just have to hold on long enough." Kai thought to himself. Little did Kai know, there would be no one coming for him. The tracker was useless, leaving him all by himself. The aura user was trapped in hell.

Project Giratina HQ

1:05 pm

3 days after Operation Enlightenment

Seiya, Silas, May, and Leaf sat inside the kitchen in their suite. They were currently eating lunch, having done nothing for the past three days. There wasn't much to do, considering Cynthia and Project Giratina were working overtime for solutions to help Kai.

It was officially panic time for the Champion of Sinnoh. Silas had pointed out to the group just how different she was. Cynthia was constantly moving around, attempting to find a solution the whole day. She barely got any sleep, working long hours and rarely leaving the HQ.

"How's Hilbert, Hilda, and Leaf?" Seiya asked the group. Seiya hadn't had the chance to talk with the rest of the group much, besides his close friend Harley. He did know, however, that Sarah and May talked with the other girls frequently.

"Just like us, hanging in there. We weren't prepared for something like this to happen. Chaos has been kicked out ass lately." Sarah said depressingly, holding her head low as stood behind the kitchen counter.

"We'll get Kai back and gain the upper hand against Chaos. I promise." Silas told Sarah, putting his hand on her shoulder to comfort her. Sarah thanked the boy, who was dressed in his usual white robe and pants.

"I can't believe we have no damn clue how he is. We completely lost all contact with him." May commented, the rest of the group nodding in agreement.

"Well, I'm tired of doing nothing about it. I'm going to ask Cynthia to help us find Kai. Whether that's checking out possible Chaos bases or literally anything else. I don't care. It's better than sitting around here and moping." Seiya stated confidently, adjusting his glasses before he began to walk to the door.

Seiya walked over to Cynthia's personal office, knowing that the blonde-haired woman was most likely burying her face in work. Just like he thought, Cynthia was sat in front of her desk, rummaging through different files. Seiya was about to begin his argument until he took notice of Cynthia's appearance.

Cynthia was not wearing her usual black attire. Instead, she wore a simple black hoodie, along with long blue pants to sleep in. Her perfectly groomed hair was a disaster, uncombed and scattered behind her head. Cynthia's eyes were dead shot, with bags appearing underneath them. She looked worse for wear. Seiya didn't need to ask her to know that she was not taking care of herself.

Cynthia took notice of somebody staring at her. Looking up from her desk, she was surprised to see Seiya standing there nervously. Cynthia coughed loudly, clearing her throat before speaking.

"Seiya, I wasn't expecting to see you here. What can I do for you?" The Champion asked the teenager.

"Let us help find Kai, Cynthia. Please, we need to. At least let us go out on missions to take down and search their bases for Kai. Sitting here doing nothing is going to end up driving us crazy. Hell, it already is!" Seiya said, attempting to not blow up on the Champion. Cynthia shook her head after hearing Seiya.

"No, I can't do that. I can't afford to lose another member. I'm under enough pressure as it is." Cynthia said tiredly, rubbing her eyes with her hands.

"That's because you won't let anyone help you! Cynthia, let u help. I'm begging you. This is the only thing we want." Seiya pleaded, sitting down in front of her. Cynthia tightened her lips and closed her eyes, contemplating her decision. After a moment, she came to a conclusion.

"Fine. One of my assistants will assign you missions whenever they can, relating to possible Chaos bases. Your only missions will be to secure the area and search the place for any sign of Kai. Nothing else! Is that clear, Seiya?" Cynthia said, staring at the teenager strictly.

Seiya sighed in relief, nodding quickly after hearing Cynthia.

"Good. Now go get some rest." Cynthia told the younger boy. She was shocked, though, when she saw Seiya shake his head.

"Not until I see you leave your office and get some rest yourself. You're driving yourself off a cliff Cynthia. You need time to recover, just like the rest of us." Seiya ordered the Champion, hoping she would listen.

Cynthia was the one who sighed this time, knowing Seiya was correct. She smiled at the younger boy, getting up and leaving the office. Seiya watched her walk down the hallways, where he presumed she was going to her room. "Wow, that went better than expected." The black-haired boy thought to himself while smiling.

Seiya turned around to head back to the suite. Once he had turned around, he noticed May standing right behind him, looking more cheerful than ten minutes ago. Before he had the chance to say anything, May hugged the taller boy tightly.

Confused, Seiya only reciprocated the hug, awkwardly patting the girl with one hand on the back.

"Thank you. That was really sweet of you to look out for both Kai and Cynthia." May told Seiya, still hugging him tightly.

"How much of that did you hear?" Seiya asked, slightly embarrassed about his caring nature. May only looked up smiling at the younger boy, releasing him from the hug.

"I heard enough, Seiya." May beamed before walking back to the suite, waving her hand to signal for Seiya to come along and return to the group. Seiya smiled as well, following the Pokemon Coordinator back.

Hilbert, Hilda, and Leaf were inside their mini suite that they shared together. While Hilbert and Hilda would normally just share their suite, Leaf lived with them, since the group joined the Ghosts together. Currently, Hilbert and Hilda sat on the couch in front of the TV, while Leaf rested in her own room. Leaf was well enough to be able to reside in her room, rather than the Med Bay. However, she couldn't walk or move due to her leg still being injured.

Hilbert held a PlayStation controller in his hands, playing a video game with the TV in front of him. Hilbert was feeling slightly better, no longer in a bad mood. However, he definitely wasn't happy. Hilda only stared at her phone, texting a friend of hers.

"Can we please just go get something to eat?" Hilda asked for the fifth time, seeing her best friend preoccupied with his videogame.

"Can't you see I'm busy, Hilda? I have to defeat the boss now, because there is no way that I'm doing this shit again." Hilbert said seriously, his eyes never leaving the TV.

"Please Hilbert, I'm starving! We've also been in this room for the past few hours."

"Arceus, you're such a woman. Just go get some food and bring it back here. I swear, you are always complaining about how you look or for food." Hilbert replied without thinking. Hilbert froze after a second, realizing how bad he fucked up.

Throughout his twelve-year friendship with Hilda, he knew one thing. That was one simple rule. Do not piss Hilda off! It was so serious that Hilbert even had reminders for it on his phone. His Pokemon also reminded him constantly, hitting him softly with attacks to prevent him from saying something stupid.

However, no one was there to help him, as Hilda stared furiously at Hilbert. Hilbert covered his eyes and face with his arms, protecting himself from the strike that would definitely be coming soon. After a few seconds, Hilbert realized that nothing came. The Unova boy peeked one of his eyes open, seeing Hilda walk away.

Hilbert sighed in relief, seeing that the girl was not interested in hitting him. His feelings changed, though, once he saw Hilda grab the power cord for the PlayStation. Hilbert's eyes widened in horror, opening his mouth to scream for Hilda to stop. He would be too late, however, since Hilda ripped the power cord out of the wall, making the TV screen turn black. Hilda then turned to face Hilbert, crossing her arms underneath her chest.

"Are you fucking kidding me? I was almost finished! I've been on that level for four hours!"

"Oh no! I'm so so sorry Hilbert. I didn't know that a damn videogame meant so much to you!"

"Well, it does! I bet it doesn't matter as much to me as food does for you!"

"You better take that back Hilbert, or I swear to Arceus I'll have Emboar roast you to a crisp!" Hilda pointed threateningly at the boy.

"Oh, shut up! You're just on your period since Kai got captured and you miss seeing his "chiseled face and toned body." Hilbert insulted, copying Hilda's words she had said about Kai and using them against her.

The two friends were going to continue arguing loudly until Sarah came into the room, stopping at the door nervously once she saw the two glaring at each other. Sarah dragged one of her shoes across the floor nervously, unsure of what to do. She decided to just tell the two what she had come to tell them, since they were staring at Sarah in confusion and embarrassment.

"Uh sorry to interrupt guys but I have good news. Cynthia just approved Seiya's request to search possible Chaos bases for Kai, while also shutting them down in the process." Sarah said, looking at the two's reactions.

Hilbert and Hilda both grinned widely at this, celebrating that they would be able to possibly help Kai. It was a lot better than sitting at HQ and hoping that Cythia could accomplish something.

Sarah laughed as she saw the two have a complete "180" in their attitudes, seeing them jump and hug each other while laughing. Well, at least it was clear that the two trainers liked Kai and were willing to risk their lives daily to save him.

Their group was getting closer for sure, with this moment being an indication of this. Sarah joined the two of them, jumping along with them until they heard a shout.

"Can you all shut the fuck up! I'm trying to sleep!" Leaf shouted from her room, not hearing the good news due to being in her room.

The three trainers merely sweat dropped, rubbing the back of their heads sheepishly.

Chapter 29! Hope you all enjoyed it! I hope you're as excited as I am, because I got a lot of ideas that I hope I'll be able to successfully implement into the story soon! REVIEW and I'll see you guys soon!
