(Music playing) The elements of the Phantomrangers dance around the screen while the Phantom Medals fall to the ground.
(1, 2, 1, 2, 3, go) The Phantom Medals hit the ground and revealed the words Spirit Sentai Phantomranger written in the elements and colors of each Phantomranger.
(How does it feel at the bottom of the barrel) Casey is in the library of her college with many papers scattered on the table in front of her. She then sighs and leans back in annoyance.
(All your friends don't care, no your friends don't care at all) Jason is at a skatepark failing to perform a trick and hurting himself. A group of people laughed at Jason and he hit the ground in frustration.
(How does it feel at the bottom of the barrel) Axis and Kizu are at their job finishing up cleaning when someone makes a big mess. Axis pinched the bridge of his nose while Kizu frowned.
(All your friends don't care, no your friends don't care at all) Paul B walked alone on the sidewalk, no one taking notice of him or acknowledging he was there.
(Rejected, rejected. You're never gonna be the one respected) Each Phantomranger is shown looking at their Spirit Changer with either sadness or unease.
(Infected, infected. This is the way that every life has ended) Each Phantomranger looked up to see Ben standing in front of them with a smirk.
(No, no! This life will swallow you whole!) Each Phantomranger gained determined looks before they all appeared side by side looking forward at three people.
(No, no! This life will swallow you whole!) The three people were revealed to be the androgynous woman, a man with black hair, and a woman with black hair with hot pink tips. The Phantomrangers readied themselves then put their Phantom medals into their Spirit Changers.
(If I could set the clocks back, I wouldn't be heading for a body bag) BluePhantom kicked two Husks then she shot three that were charging towards her. GreenPhantom flew around on his hoverboard, hitting several husks along the way.
(One life and one decision, make sure it ends with you still living) RedPhantom slashes two husks then shoots energy arrows at three husks that were about to attack both GreenPhantom and BluePhantom.
(Feel like I'm on the fast track to laying face down from a heart attack) YellowPhantom cut down several Husks then he punched one across the face. PinkPhantom kicked two Husks then he fell down and was about to be hit by a Husks. YellowPhantom moved to help PinkPhantom but couldn't due to having to fight another Husks
(One life and one decision, make sure it ends with you still living) RedPhantom slashed the Husks then helped PinkPhantom stand up. Yellow, Green, and BluePhantom regrouped with the two then the group looked forward.
(Make sure it ends with you still living) The androgynous woman and her companions stood in front of the group with an army of Husks behind them.
(Music plays) The Phantomrangers readied their weapons then charged at the army. The trio of villains charged at the Phantomrangers. RedPhantom then slashed at the trio.
(Make sure it ends with you still living!) The screen then shows the title Spirit Sentai Phantomranger in the Phantomrangers elements and colors.
Currently, The Phantomrangers stood side by side in line while Ben walked by them saying,"Today begins your training and journey as the Phantomrangers. Yes, you may have gained your powers and fought Specters yesterday however they were only the beginning. Specters will become stronger as time goes on and eventually you'll have to fight one of the Daemons so you shall train in order to build up your strength while also fighting Specters that appear."
Ben then turned to the group and said,"So let's begin with some stretching and a light workout." with a smile.
"Workout?",Casey questioned.
Minutes later, Casey was breathing heavily while struggling to do push-ups. She then fell down and Ben passed by her saying,"Come on Casey, you only have fifteen more to do."
Ben then looked down the line to see Axis, Paul B, and Jason effortlessly doing the push-ups while Kizu just sat up on his knees. Ben smirked saying,"Nice job guys. Kizu, why aren't you doing any more?"
"I already did them and I can't do anymore.",Kizu said out of breath. Ben nodded.
Minutes later, Paul B, Jason, Axis, and Kizu were now doing handstands against the fence with Casey standing off to the side with Ben. Jason took in a breath then he said in a strained tone,"Why doesn't Casey have to do handstands?"
"Because she's the only woman here and we don't want her accidentally flashing us.",Ben explained, now having a walking stick in hand.
"At least you understand that can happen.",Casey commented. Ben then looked at her,"Oh you still are going to do something."
Ben then put a stack of textbooks in Casey's hands and had her hold them above her head. Casey looked at him with disbelief then said,"Am I in fifth grade or something?"
"No, but this was a surprisingly effective way to build arm muscle even if it was a punishment,"Ben casually said.
"Yeah, and at least you aren't upside down.",Axis said before he fell over, groaning in pain. Kizu then fell as well, sitting up and saying in a pained voice,"Itei."
Casey rolled her eyes then she dropped the books with one hitting her in the head.
Minutes after that, Casey watched with annoyed confusion as Ben had her and the others do three sets of ten backflips. She had already finished hers and was watching as Kizu, Axis and Jason struggled to even do one. Axis tried to backflip but fell on his back and grunted. Kizu did a backflip but had to be caught by Axis before he fell on his back. Jason almost completed a backflip but didn't stick the landing and fell on his butt. Ben nodded while stroking his chin then he looked at Paul B who was effortlessly doing the backflips.
After that, the group was sitting on Ben's porch with Axis and Kizu laying on the porch, Jason being slumped against the railing, while Casey was sitting on the steps with her chin in her hand and an annoyed expression on her face. Ben stood six feet away in front of Paul B with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. Jason looked at the two then said,"What are you guys doing? Please tell me that training's over."
"Not until I see something,"Ben said as he uncrossed his arms. He then charged at Paul B and threw a punch, which Paul B managed to block. Ben threw several more attacks at Paul B, who either blocked or evaded them, then he stopped and said,"Okay it's settled. Paul is the team leader."
"What?!",Casey exclaimed.
"Good for him,"Jason said.
"I don't mind Paul being our leader.",Kizu said as he sat up.
"I kinda thought it was known that he was going to lead us.",Axis said while sitting up and resting an arm on his knee. Casey looked at the three men near her with disbelief then back at Paul B as he said with his usual smile,"I'll try my hardest to be the best leader."
Casey stood up and stormed over to Ben and Paul B while angrily saying,"How is he fit to be leader?"
"Well there are several reasons but I'm not going to tell you. You'll just have to witness them for yourself.",Ben said, with Paul B looking at him with some confusion.
"Why not tell me?",Casey asked.
"Because there's a lesson you need to learn and I always feel it best to learn from experience rather than just me saying it."Ben replied while putting his hands in his pockets. Casey gained an angered expression while Paul B nodded saying,"I don't really get it, but can't be all bad."
Ben grinned then he said,"Oh, a Specter has appeared in the city. I'll send you guys to it now." before snapping his fingers.
The Phantomrangers appeared downtown in a small courtyard. The quintet looked around and Casey angrily yelled,"Can that stop happening?!"
Paul B looked at Casey then he said rather bluntly,"You're a bit high strung, ya know."
Casey glared at Paul B and he continued speaking,"I think it's because of stress from your college work. I heard that stuff can be very difficult to do and they give you a lot of it at once too."
Casey began raising her fist and was going to punch Paul B when she, Paul B and the others heard carnage and screaming coming from a nearby coffee shop. They all turned their attention to the shop and saw a man walking out of it with a gray aura radiating from him before his skin turned to stone and a Specter erupted from him. The Specter was humanoid and had pale white skin, was severely thin but looked quite muscular and wore clothes similar to that of an Egyptian pharaoh without the headpiece.
"Huh, that's a new kind of Specter.",Paul B said with intrigue. He and Casey's gazes then met and he said,"I fought two Specters before meeting you guys and from what I know they usually come in three kinds of forms. They're either animal based, plant based, or made out of some kind of material like metal or stone. This is the first one that isn't any of those three."
"Well technically humans are animals so it's sorta on brand.",Jason said as he, Axis, and Kizu stood up. Paul B shrugged then he said,"Either way, we all need to stop it. Phantomise!" as he put his Phantom medal into his Spirit Changer.
"PHANTOMISE! REDPHANTOM READY!"
RedPhantom charged at the Pharaoh Specter, jumping up and kicking it away from a person who had fallen over. RedPhantom helped the person to their feet and told them to leave before he readied himself and charged at the Specter, beginning to fight it.
Casey watched as RedPhantom fought the Pharaoh Specter and she just looked aggravated as she watched him. Axis, Jason, and Kizu stood around Casey watching RedPhantom fight, then Axis said,"Should we help him?"
"It doesn't look like he needs it to be honest."Jason said in an impressed tone.
Kizu then looked at Jason and asked,"Kēshī no nani ga mondaina nodesu ka?" (Translation: What's wrong Casey?)
Casey raised an eyebrow then she looked at Axis as he said,"Kizu asked what's wrong with you?"
"Nothing is wrong with me. I'm just aggravated.",Casey answered while crossing her arms and turning her attention back to RedPhantom.
"What are you aggravated about?",Jason questioned.
"Nothing that concerns you guys.",Casey said.
It was then that RedPhantom crash landed in front of the four, then he stood up and said,"Uh guys, I could use some help with the Specter and Husks."
"Husks?"Casey, Jason, Axis, and Kizu questioned.
"It's what I've decided to call those things that help the Specters out. You know the minion ones."RedPhantom explained. Jason, Axis and Kizu nodded, then they changed into their Phantomranger forms and charged into battle. RedPhantom fist pumped then he looked at Casey and asked,"Why aren't you transforming?"
Casey looked at RedPhantom then she groaned before putting her Phantom Medal into her Spirit Changer and changing into BluePhantom.
"There, happy?",BluePhantom said in a frustrated tone.
"Uh yeah I guess. Are you okay? You seem tense,"RedPhantom asked. BluePhantom then pushed RedPhantom to the side before charging into battle the Specter and Husks with RedPhantom following her.
GreenPhantom punched a Husk in the shin then climbed up it to ride on its shoulders and kick two other Husks in the face. He then bashed the Husk he was riding in the back of the head before jumping off of it.
PinkPhantom punched a Husks twice then was hit in the back and kicked in the stomach. He stumbled back then he let out a fearful gasp as three Husks charged at him. YellowPhantom punched all three of the Husks that were charging at PinkPhantom then he grabbed one and threw it at a charging Husks. PinkPhantom looked at YellowPhantom then said,"Arigato Axey-chan."
"No problem.",YellowPhantom said while looking at PinkPhantom. PinkPhantom then jumped up, going over YellowPhantom and kicked a Husks that was about to attack the giant of a man. YellowPhantom chuckled, then he said,"Thanks."
"Mondainashi.",PinkPhantom said. (Translation: No problem.)
BluePhantom shot several Husks then she narrowly dodged an attack from the Pharaoh Specter. She fired at the Specter twice but they were dodged. The Pharaoh Specter landed two punches to BluePhantom's stomach, causing her to stumble back in pain. It was about to hit BluePhantom once more but RedPhantom managed to get to her and kick the Specter in the chin, causing it to go back into a car. RedPhantom turned to BluePhantom saying,"You alright?"
BluePhantom pushed RedPhantom out of her way then shot at the Pharaoh Specter several times, all of which were dodged. The Pharaoh Specter then stretched its arms out and hit both RedPhantom and BluePhantom with powerful punches. Both Phantomrangers flew back and crashed into the ground.
The Pharaoh Specter began moving towards its opponents but it was then turned into a small ball and flew away from the scene. RedPhantom got to his feet and said,"Crap, it got away."
RedPhantom then looked at BluePhantom and offered a hand to help her up, while GreenPhantom, YellowPhantom and PinkPhantom regrouped with the both of them. BluePhantom slapped RedPhantom's hand away then she got up saying,"I'm fine."
"You don't seem fine. Actually you seem kinda pissed."GreenPhantom commented.
"Well sorry that I'm not acting happy or proud to be in a colorful suit and fighting monsters."BluePhantom said sharply.
"Hey, no problem with me."GreenPhantom replied.
"That's just it, there should be a problem. How am I the only one here who realizes how much of a problem everything is?!"BluePhantom snapped before she stormed off from the group, changing back into Casey.
"Okay, that was weird.",GreenPhantom said.
"Yeah, she seems high strung."YellowPhantom said, crossing his arms. PinkPhantom nodded in agreement with YellowPhantom's comment. RedPhantom stared at Casey as she left then he reverted into Paul B, having a concerned expression on his face.
On a rooftop, Xiya looked down on the Phantomrangers then she looked over her shoulder as Corvus appeared behind her from a portal with Kou beside him. Xiya turned around while asking,"Are you sure those guys defeated all three of your Specters Kou?"
"Hai watashi wa kakushin shite imasu",Kou replied. (Translation: Yes I am sure.)
"Eh, they weren't that good from what I saw. Heck, the blue one just stormed off from the group.",Xiya said with some disappointment.
"You sound disappointed.",Corvus said.
"Well yeah, I was hoping to see these guys fight my Specter and do some good but all they did was fight the minions then red and blue got trounced by the Specter."
Corvus nodded before saying,"Well give them sometime Xiya. This is their first battle as a full team and from what you've said, it sounds as though blue isn't in the best state of mind currently."
Xiya groaned then she whined,"But I don't want to wait."
"You will need to though.",Corvus said wisely.
Back with Casey, she was currently sitting on a bench near an empty playground, her expression showing regret and annoyance. She then looked down at her Spirit Changer and she became angered before she took it off and threw it away from her. Casey then groaned when the Spirit Changer appeared on her wrist once more then she shouted in frustration,"Why does this stupid thing keep coming back?!"
"Probably because it's meant for you."Casey heard from behind her. She looked behind her to see Paul B walking up to her, giving her a wave as he did so. Casey sighed in frustration then she said,"Why did you follow me?"
Paul B sat next to Casey then said,"You seemed pretty angry back there and I just wanted to make sure you were okay."
"Why? You just met me yesterday yet you act as if we've known each other for years?"Casey asked, her voice still showing how frustrated she was.
"Well you're a part of my team, it's only natural for me to check on you.",Paul B said casually.
Casey rolled her eyes,"Don't remind me."
"Why wouldn't you want to be reminded?"
"Because I don't want to be a part of your team or anyone's team. I can do things on my own without you or anyone else's help!"Casey snapped, covering her mouth when she realized what she said. Paul B began to have a smile grow as he said,"Okay, now we're getting somewhere."
Casey turned away from Paul B then she sighed,"Go ahead, say what everyone else says."
"What does everyone else say?"Paul B asked.
"That I'm too standoffish, that I'll never make any friends, that I'm a control freak and need to learn to chill."Casey replied with an annoyed tone.
"Eh, I wouldn't say any of that.",Paul B said bluntly. Casey gained a surprised look and she turned to Paul B,"You wouldn't?"
"No, I wouldn't say any of that about you. Honestly, I completely understand how you feel right now."
Casey scoffed,"I doubt that."
"I'm being serious. I felt the same as you when I first got my Spirit Changer; scared, freaked out, undeserving.",Paul B said while looking down at his Spirit Changer. Casey's expression softened then she said,"That's not exactly how I feel but it's close. It's not that I'm scared or anything, I just can't believe anything that's happened to me in the past day. I mean I'm a college student who has no friends and is barely passing two classes. I'm not superhero material."
"I think you're being too hard on yourself Casey. I mean all the great superheroes come from something like yours plus being a hero isn't something you're born to do. It just comes as you grow up and help others. Least, that's what I was taught anyway."Paul B said with a smile. Casey looked at Paul B and she chuckled before saying,"You have a funny way with words Paul."
"It's part of my charm, well not a big part but it's a part nonetheless."Paul B said proudly. Casey chuckled then she and Paul B began laughing together for a few moments before they stopped and sat in silence. Casey smiled before saying,"Thank you Paul. Sorry about yelling at you and everything I've done today."
"Ah, water under the bridge. Also you were wrong when you said you have no friends."Paul B responded. Casey gained a confused look,"Pretty sure I'm right about that considering I have literally no friends."
"No you're not. I mean we're friends.",Paul B said bluntly. Casey gained a small smile and she said with some happiness,"We're friends?"
Paul B nodded while smiling. Casey smiled back at Paul B then their gazes met and both became entranced. They were then startled when they heard screaming coming from nearby, turning to see the Pharaoh Specter attacking a group of women. Paul B and Casey got to their feet then Paul B said,"Lucky me that it shows up here."
"Don't you mean lucky us?",Casey said with a smirk. Paul B smiled excitedly then he and Casey charged towards the Specter and the women. Paul B jumped up and kicked Specter in the chest, causing it to stumble back, while Casey helped the women get away. Jason, Kizu, and Axis then appeared next to Casey and Paul B with Axis saying,"Okay, that's gonna take some getting used to."
Paul B smirked, then he took out his Phantom medal and said,"Let's suit up then guys." before flipping his medal into the air. He caught it mid-air then put it into his Spirit Changer while saying,"Phantomise."
Casey held her Phantom medal out in front of her then put it into her Spirit Changer while saying,"Phantomise."
Jason took out his Phantom medal and threw his arm over his head while saying,"Phantomise." before he put it into his Spirit Changer.
Axis took out his Phantom medal and he simply held it in front of his eye while saying,"Phantomise." and putting it into his Spirit Changer.
Kizu took out his Phantom medal and kissed it before saying,"Phantomise." and putting it into his Spirit Changer.
"AGNI, ELIZI, NJORD, SHOGO, CIRCE PHANTOMISE! RED, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, PINKPHANTOM READY!"
The five youths gained their Phantomranger suits and the Pharaoh Specter was taken aback by this. Unbeknownst to the team, Xiya, Corvus, and Kou stood on a nearby rooftop watching them.
"The fiery spirit, RedPhantom.",RedPhantom said enthusiastically.
"The calming spirit, BluePhantom.",BluePhantom said.
"The animated spirit, GreenPhantom.",GreenPhantom said.
"The reserved spirit, YellowPhantom.",YellowPhantom said.
"The joyful spirit, PinkPhantom.",PinkPhantom said.
"And we're the Spirit Sentai,"RedPhantom said while pointing at himself. He and the other Phantomrangers then did their poses as they said in unison,"Phantomranger!"
The Phantomrangers then readied themselves and summoned their weapons while RedPhantom and BluePhantom said in unison,"Now let's put this Specter to rest."
The Phantomrangers then charged towards the Pharaoh Specter. A platoon of Husks appeared around the Pharaoh Specter and they all charged towards the Phantomrangers.
YellowPhantom slashed several Husks then he had his sword go into its whip form and slash several more Husks. He then dodged some attacks before punching a Husks across the face. PinkPhantom used his staff to bash several Husks heads then he had several pink magic bolts come out of his staff and hit three Husks in their chest. PinkPhantom then narrowly dodged a punch and hit the Husks in the back. GreenPhantom rode his board, ramming it into three Husks then he did a backflip over a Husks attack before he spun himself and his board around, causing several Husks to be hit by the board and to explode.
RedPhantom slashed at the Pharaoh Specter several times, most of which were dodged, then he was hit in the chest and stumbled back. He then blocked and dodged several attacks from the Pharaoh Specter's stretchy arms. BluePhantom shot the Pharaoh Specter in the side five times then she went to help RedPhantom up. RedPhantom thanked BluePhantom then he said,"This thing likes to use those stretchy arms to keep us away."
"Then we'll just get rid of its arms and get in with a finisher.",BluePhantom said. RedPhantom nodded, then he and BluePhantom then put their weapons to their Spirit Changers and readied themselves.
"EXORCISE! AGNI, ELIZI PURGE!"
The Pharaoh Specter stretched its arms out to try and punch both Phantomrangers. RedPhantom's bowblade had red energy gather on the blade and he then jumped up and spun around in the air, severing the Specter's arms at the elbow causing it to shout in pain. BluePhantom aimed her Elizitrigun at the Specter and she fired a large bullet of blue energy and water at it, hitting it in the chest and causing it to explode.
RedPhantom looked at BluePhantom and said,"Nice job Casey." happily. He then lifted his hand and BluePhantom looked at it before giving him a high five. RedPhantom looked at his hand then at BluePhantom before he fist pumped triumphantly. BluePhantom chuckled then she and RedPhantom regrouped with the rest of their team.
On the rooftop, Xiya, Corvus, and Kou watched the Phantomrangers and Xiya said,"Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme!"
"Not yet Xiya. They're just starting out and need time to grow before they'll be anywhere near a candidate to be a competent Daemon.",Corvus said.
"Who cares about them being a Daemon?! I just want to fight em.",Xiya said with an eager and rather animalistic smile.
"Anata wa atode Xiya anata no chi no yokubō o mitasu koto ga dekimasu. Imanotokoro, dēmon to shite no ranku no kōchiku o yūsen suru hitsuyō ga arimasu.",Kou said with her arms crossed. (Translation:You can satisfy your blood lust later Xiya. Right now, we must prioritize the building of our ranks as Daemons.)
Xiya scoffed at Kou then said,"You both are no fun sometimes."
The trio then went into a portal that Corvus opened with aura coming off of them as they did so. Kou had a blue, dark blue, violet, and navy blue aura coming off of her. Xiya had a hot pink, magenta, and burgundy colored aura coming off of her. Corvus had red, black, and dark red aura coming off of him.
