Day 4
Chaos HQ
8:20 AM
Kai was no longer sitting down, chained to the chair. No, not at all. The new position he was in was much worse. After being tortured for hours, being waterboarded and electrocuted endlessly, Chaos decided that their punishment wasn't enough. They untied him from the chair, before making him stand as his arms were handfucced to the roof above him. Kai was unable to attempt an escape in those few minutes he wasn't tied up due to his condition.
The aura user was tired and badly hurt. They had stripped him of his shirt to assess his wounds, not putting it back on him. He stood in the middle of the room shirtless and barefoot, with only pants on. The suffering he had endured over the past few days drained his body of all its energy. For the past few hours, Kai was forced to stand due to the handcuffs being attached to the roof, putting an immense amount of discomfort and strain on his legs to remain standing.
Worst of all, it was now impossible to get some rest. Before, he would be able to easily fall asleep on the chair. Now, Kai would be forced to put effort into simply being able to stand. Because if he didn't, he would only strain his arms more since they were being held up over his head from the metal chain and handcuffs.
There was no way to keep track of time. If he had to take a guess, he had been standing in his new position for five or six hours. Kai lost track of what day or time it was. It was impossible, since he was just surrounded by concrete walls and a shitty lamp.
Kai's head hanged low, attempting to get some rest but was unable to due to the discomfort. The teenager lifted his head in curiosity, however, once he heard the door open in front of him. A well-built man walked into the room with a serious expression. He closed the door behind him before stopping and staring at Kai.
Kai only glared back, analyzing the older man. The man appeared to be in his fifties, with a full black beard. His black hair was extremely short with specks of gray, proving his older age. The man was well built, his arms and chest being apparent through his black suit. The older man walked closer to Kai, standing only a foot away from him as they stared each other down, neither one giving an inch. The man stood at the same height as Kai, being about 6 feet tall.
The older man continued to stare daggers at Kai, before speaking with a deep and confident voice.
"Do you know who I am."
Kai heard his voice and was slightly unnerved by it. There was something about the older man that unnerved him. Not backing down, Kai only stood taller and was no longer slouching.
"Let me guess. The Pope?" Kai said while smiling, not letting his pain and discomfort show.
The older man found no amusement in this, continuing to stare at him.
"I'm the creator of Chaos. The leader of the organization. While everyone simply calls me "Boss", my real name is Norman Shaw." Norman said, walking around Kai as he spoke.
Kai's eyes widened with interest now. In front of him supposedly stood the Leader of Chaos. Chaos's leader had yet to be identified. No one had any clue who it was. If the older man wasn't lying, then he's the man behind the whole operation!
The Boss stopped pacing around Kai once he stood in front of him again, now asking him a different question.
"Now that you know who I am, I want to know who you are." Norman Shaw stated, poking a finger forcefully against Kai's ribs after seeing the large purple area. Kai tightened his lips, mentally refusing to let out a noise. Kai would be damned if he gave the Boss whatever he wanted.
Nope, that would be too easy for the old bastard. So, Kai did the thing he was best at. Being an annoying, persistent, douchebag to those who he felt deserved it.
"I'm Bill Cosby, dipshit." Kai said sarcastically before continuing. "Don't act like you don't know who I am, ass wipe! I'm the guy with the aura who's been whooping your asses these past months. It's ok, I know you're a huge fan of mine. Today is your lucky day cause I'm feeling generous. If you get a paper from your office, I'll give you an autograph since you're such a big fan." Kai said while grinning widely, his face being level with the Boss's since they were both the same height.
The Boss remained still for a moment, not moving an inch like last time. Kai grinned, thinking his words stunned the older man, making him unsure of what to do. The aura user was completely wrong…
Suddenly, The Boss roared loudly, grabbing Kai's neck with one hand to hold him as he struck his face with punches relentlessly. Kai's head swung like a bowling pin, the older man's fist colliding with him several times before he stopped. Blood flew across the room everywhere; The Boss's fist created more cuts and caused the former ones to bleed more. The boss continued with striking his face relentlessly for about ten seconds. Right after punching his face, the older man began wildly punching his midsection with both arms. Kai only screamed in pain, completely defenseless as the Boss pounced on him.
Kai's midsection was attacked brutally, each punch hurting the already damaged ribs and also cracking them slightly more. By the time the Boss finished his onslaught of punches, Kai was barely conscious, wheezing for air. Blood covered the majority of his face, while his midsection was completely purple and red from the attack. Kai's right eye was almost completely shut, the swelling now out of control.
Norman Shaw took out a towel from his pocket, wiping his bloody knuckles and shirt since it had gotten blood on it. After cleaning himself slightly, the Boss roughly dragged the towel across Kai's face, wanting the aura user to be able to see him. Kai bared his teeth at the older man, growling in anger while still in a tremendous amount of pain. However, his anger and hatred for the man far outweighed the pain he was feeling, which was A LOT.
"I swear to Arceus, I will kill you. Mark my words. This will end with you dead." Kai threatened seriously, no longer joking with the older man.
The Boss ignored his threat, opting to say something instead.
"You're right, Kai. I know exactly who you are. Kai Ledger. Currently seventeen years old and born in Pallet Town." The Boss said, noticing Kai glaring at him before continuing.
"Your starter Pokemon was Riolu. Your first Pokemon League was Kanto. So far, you have participated in the Kanto, Hoenn, and Johto League Tournaments. In that order, you placed Top 4, second, and eventually first in Johto. After winning your first tournament, you decided to not challenge the Elite Four and eventually the Champion. Instead, you decided to travel through Sinnoh, your greatest mistake you've made."
"Oh wow I'm so scared. Mommy, help." Kai said mockingly. It probably wasn't the wisest thing to say, considering he just had the living shit beat out of him, but the idiot couldn't help it.
Luckily, Norman ignored the comment once again, continuing with his dramatic speech.
"It was in Oreburgh City that you first encountered Chaos. You foiled our simple mission there, making yourself forever an enemy to the organization. After making it out alive, Cynthia SHirona recruited you to be a part of her little organization. For the past few months now, you have been a thorn in our sides. Which leaves us to the present." Norman Shaw finished, crossing his arms tightly against his chest.
While Kai continued to stare at the older man with a serious expression, there was a bit of alarm going through his head. It was unnerving to the teenager that Chaos knew who he was. Sure, he knew that he was definitely on their radar. But it was different hearing it from them then assuming that they knew his identity.
However, confusion became present in the aura user's head. Why would the Boss be telling him all of this? What did he stand to gain from it? Curiosity getting the better of him once again, Kai asked the leader a question.
"Why did you tell me who you are?" Kai asked simply.
"It's simple. Because you won't live to tell it." The boss said darkly. Kai muttered out "Nice" right before Norman continued with his speech.
"You're going to die at the hands of Chaos. Nine was not lying to you. Chaos will break you, physically and mentally. You won't ever see sunlight ever again. Honestly, due to your strong will and desire to survive, I give you a month tops before you break. Once you break, we'll bless you with the mercy to end your miserable life, Kai." The Boss stated seriously, before walking out of the room and leaving Kai alone once again.
For the second time in that encounter, Kai had no joke or quip ready. Norman's words shocked him to his core, fear slightly taking over. Kai rarely felt fear in the past few years, even when he started working for Cynthia. Right now, however, he was frightened.
Kai wasn't afraid of dying. He was afraid of failing the region, which unknowingly relied on Project Giratina and themselves to protect them. The teenager refused to die, not until he made sure that Chaos was no longer a threat to anybody.
REVIEW and hope you all enjoyed. I know this was a short chapter so sorry about that. See you all soon!
