It didn't take too long for Misty to arrive and pick him up. Since he'd been too weak to properly steer his wheelchair, Misty was more than happy to push him and load him into her van herself "Do you want to stop at a drive-thru to pick up a treat or something?" Misty asked as she drove. Her van was the same model as Ginzo's, except it was a bright red instead of black. The choice had been deliberate, that way they'd only have to learn about one van instead of two.

Kaito shook his head, whole body slouching. His seat belt was the only thing stopping him from falling forwards "No, I just want to sleep away the pain" It had already faded a fair amount, but it was still enough to weigh heavy on him.

Misty smiled "Lucky you then, I just purchased a brand new blanket today. It feels amazing! Even before being washed, so it should feel even better once it comes out of the dryer" She had sensitive skin, so she was always excited whenever she found a god blanket that she really liked. Sadly texture could change with age, so she had to buy blankets and clothes more often than the average person. That was fine though, they were good for donating, especially around winter time.

"Is it red again?" Kaito asked, a tired smile on his lips. Misty was good for comfort, which was why he'd asked for her to be called instead of Ginzo. The inspector was more for safety, and he needed comfort more than safety right now.

"Nope, it's blue!" Misty laughed, she bought a lot of red, but not everything was red.

"Purple?"

Misty rolled her eyes "No, it's actually blue this time, not reddish blue"

The rest of the ride was rode out in comforting silence since Kaito was quick to fall into a doze. The teen didn't even wake when he was removed from the van and wheeled into Misty's house. Kaito stayed asleep until Misty actually shook him awake.

Kaito stifled a yawn, eyes heavy with sleep "What?"

Misty just snickered softly "You sleeping in the guest room?" Her house was a decent size. Working as Danashi's secretary earned her a fair amount of money.

"With you" Kaito yawned, Misty was warm and comfy.

"Okay" Misty ruffled Kaito's hair before wheeling him to her room. She eyed Kaito's clothing, they seemed to be comfortable enough for sleep, so she refrained from fetching one of her non-sexy nightgowns for him. Not that Kaito would have cared if she'd brought him one, in fact, he'd probably laugh at how Ginzo would blow a gasket.

Changing into her sleep clothes was a swift matter, she then picked Kaito up and laid him in bed, then crawled in next to him. Kaito was already asleep by the time she wrapped her arms around him. Kaito liked snuggling, and she was fond of it too, especially with how relaxed Kaito always was afterwards. Maybe she should get a cat, or get them both a cat.

When Kaito woke up, it was noon and the blankets beside him were cold. Dragging himself into his wheelchair was an effort, but not one he couldn't push through. He went straight to the washroom, picking up the clothes that Misty had laid out for him. Having a shower sucked, but that was only because he was physically tired. Kaito spent a fair amount of time poking and prodding his legs, testing to see if he could find any more feeling now that he was more awake. He didn't find anything new.

Kaito was dressed in a green blouse and a black knee length skirt when he wheeled himself out of the bathroom. The loose clothes were nice and comfortable, and the skirt was a lot easier to put on than pants. As he made his way down the hall, he paused. There were two kittens in the hallway, Misty hadn't told him that she'd gotten kittens! "Here kitty kitty kitty" Kaito made sure to call softly, not wanting to scare the kittens away. Making a first impression was important when it came to young animals! He didn't want them to become afraid of his wheelchair.

"Oh you're awake" Misty called, getting up from the living room couch to meet Kaito in the hallway, smiling when she noted how Kaito's gaze was focused on the kittens. She'd gone out right that morning to get them, a pure black one with green eyes for herself, and a light grey tabby with blue eyes for Kaito.

"You never told me that you had kittens..." Kaito accused, pouting. They were so cute, he wanted to pet them.

"How could I?" Misty smiled "I got them today" She slowly walked over and scooped the grey kitten up and plopped it into his lap "This little girl is yours, both of them are fixed"

Indigos went wide with shock "Mine?!" He carefully pet the kitten, looking at her with awe "But what about Keibu?" He wasn't against having a kitten, especially this one, it was so cute and soft.

Misty's gaze softened, it looked like Kaito had already gotten attached"I talked to him on the phone, and he agreed that getting a kitten would be good" Cats were low maintenance, and having a soft purring kitten to snuggle would help with Kaito's stress levels. Apparently the inspector's new temporary ward would also benefit from having a kitten present.

Kaito's eyes lit up "Then her name will be Sooty" He stroked along the newly named Sooty's spine, earning loud purrs. The purring sounded so adorable, he never wanted it to stop.

"I named my kitten Echo because Midnight seemed to be too cliche" Misty stated, elated that the kitten had already raised Kaito's mood. Now she had absolutely no doubt that Sooty would be good for Kaito. She'd asked for the two kittens that snuggled the most and had given Kaito the one that liked to snuggle the most.

"They need collars and tags!" Kaito gasped, the excitement giving him a rush of energy. Sooty would be his second assistant! Lapin would be his first 'assistant' in solving crimes, at least that's how the public would see it.
