As Ralph and Vanellope were making their way to the retro drinking game, he wondered why she'd want to see Tapper all of a sudden.

"Okay, so why are we going to Tapper's again? And what's with the big notebook?"

Vanellope looked away shyly, thinking how she could say it without getting him upset. She pushed out the thought of Taffyta messing with her best friend earlier.

"Don't freak out, but I need to ask him if I can make my own code-"

Ralph grasped the sides of the cart he was riding on harshly, his large hands subtly rocking the train.

"You want to what!?"

"Oh come on, Ralph! I said not to freak out!" Vanellope said while Ralph rubbed his forehead.

"I need ramps and stuff! Driving on a flat road all day is so annoying." The girl answered, her smile growing.

Ralph stared down at her, beyond confused.

"You love Slaughter Race already don't you? You said it was perfect. What happened? I'm all for you being inspired, but that's too insane."

Vanellope did her best to not get frustrated. She didn't want to think about the game's ugly road, chasing five different people fighting for the same car.

Ralph sighed heavily. He thought of explaining how ridiculous entering random codes in a game would be, but explaining it to a stubborn nine year old? That was even more work.

"How are more tracks gonna help you, kid? That's dangerous, don't you think?"

"Relax, I do my research. Besides, it'll probably get us closer to winning."

She smiled at the man sweetly. "I'll be okay. I promise. Let's just ask him if it works." She reassured him, holding his hand.

"And don't forget, you know your welcome to help me if you want."

Ralph continued to let her hand rest on his. "Your right, I've gotta trust you."

When they got to the game, the bar was as usual, packed with other characters, and drinks being passed out on the table. Vanellope smiled crazily as she skipped to the front, Ralph following shortly with her.

"Hey Tapp's." Ralph greeted gently.

"Hi Ralph, oh you brought your friend with you!"

"Hallo! I need a teeny tiny favor from ya." Vanellope requested.

"From me? What's the favor?" Tapper noticed Ralph was rubbing the back of his neck, as if he was halfway getting nervous.

"Well... Do you know anything about accessing codes by any chance?"

"Not really. Why?"

"So..." She smiled excitedly, expecting a highly helpful answer. "How do I get to 'em? Like change the way the game looks?"

Tapper looked at her, and Ralph, and then back at Vanellope as if she had two heads.

"I- I'm not telling you that!"

Vanellope groaned disappointingly. "Aww, come on Tapper! Plea-"

"Absolutely not. Last time someone found a code, he- look it doesn't matter." He explained cleaning out a cup.

"But you don't understand, my game doesn't have the exact thing I want in it. I'm sick of following the rules all the time." The little girl begged, clenching her hands together.

"I'm sorry, Vanellope. Besides, your game's online. I don't know anything about the internet."

"Okay." She mouthed as she turned to Ralph with a pouty face and walked away.

Ralph pulled up a stool to sit on while he asked Tapper for a root beer. He recognized the sound of squeaky shoes walking towards him.

"Hey Brother, where were you? We just now cut the cake." Felix said not noticing how dazed Ralph was at first.

"Oh, Vanellope wanted to do something... sorry."

Felix turned his head more to Ralph's side. He saw how stressed he was, or at least about to be.

"You okay, Ralph?"

"No." He said sheepishly, thinking Vanellope had went back to the internet by now. "Vanellope wants to code her own tracks in Slaughter Race. We went to Tapper, and he obviously said no."

"Why?"

Ralph shrugged. He knew whenever his friend had these problems, she could never explain why.

"It's always the same thing, you know? It's always 'I'm bored.' Or 'I need a change.' I just don't get why the phases happen so quickly though." Ralph explained, thanking Tapper after he got his cup.

"You should tell her how bad that is. Not saying anything at all's worse." Felix suggested.

"Believe me, I try, but she never listens to me. She's just gonna say I'm a bad friend again. " Ralph said taking a bug gulp of root beer.

"Maybe that's why she likes that other girl so much. She says what she wants to hear." Felix joked sarcastically, making both of them chuckle. As much as Ralph felt he needed to tell her, he didn't want to upset her.

After some comforting words from Felix, he finally got the strength to get back up and the two went back to the penthouse. Maybe a slice of cake would make him feel better.
