'Home' for Winona, Valda and Dani turned out to be an apartment in a massive, modern building. The concierge gave the roughed-up looking gaggle an odd look as they walked through the lobby.
"Heeeeey Martin." Winona called easily as they breezed by. "Got anything for me?"
"Uh. Y-yes. Ms. Lo…" The man seemed to recover. "You have mail and some things returned from the cleaners. I took the liberty of having them brought up to your residence."
"You really are too good to us, Marty.." She laughed lightly, making the man beam with pride. "I appreciate you so much. When Valda makes another custard pie, I'll bring you some!" The man seemed to brighten at this.
They approached a bank of elevators and when one opened the woman tiredly stepped inside. When none of the chain made to follow, she used her foot to keep it from closing. "Ahem?" she coughed, "all aboard?"
The men squeezed into the elevator and were surprised by the swift ride whisking them to a much much higher floor. The whole chain braced against the walls at the elevator began to accent. Some took it better than others though.
Hyrule sank to his knees with a groan alarming Winona.
"Are you ok?" Winona cried out in concern while he tried to wave her off.
Wild and Legend snickered behind her earning a matching reproachful look from both her and from Time.
"That's not very nice…" She said as she helped the motion-sick man to his feet. He sagged heavily against her side and looked pale but grateful for the assist. When they finally made it into her home she deposited the man on a large plush leather couch before making her way to a window. She flipped a switch by the window and a set of blinds slid to the side treating the gang to a lovely view of the water, the iconic bridge and of the city beyond. She turned to them and sighed, clapping her hands together.
"Well…I don't know about You all…. But I need a drink."
"I'll take one!" Called Wind from the window, earning a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah….I'll second that." Time replied.
When most everyone had voiced their consensus the girl simply shrugged and retreated, presumably to a kitchen somewhere, before returning with a tray of beverages. These were in fine crystal glasses with cubed ice inside. An ornate decanter was opened and liberally poured for all in attendance save for Hyrule(the only one to not ask for a beverage) Winona, instead, gave the ill-looking man a can of ginger ale and a look of sympathy.
"This should help.." She said gently to him and gave his shoulder a squeeze as she walked past. She raised her own glass to her new guests in a wry toast. "To the end of the world as we know it?"
After everyone was properly settled in and relaxed, Winona decided to order some food for the group. Defaulting to what people in the area usually eat when faced with a large number of unexpected guests; she ordered pizza. A LOT of pizzas.
The Pizza was a huge hit with everyone, many of the gang simply taking an entire pie to themselves and eating it straight from the box. Good thing she had ordered so many she thought to herself watching the crew devour them by the unit
The only one who seemed less than enthused, at least initially, was the smallest member of the group, a spare man in a multi-colored tunic that upon noticing the peppers on one of the pies refused to touch any that were not strictly an 'only cheese' affair. After his first slice of the 'safe' pizza though, he too was comfortably enamored with this foreign cuisine and had retreated with a box to the corner of the room to enjoy it in peace.
After pizza and a few rounds of libations the now sated group sat in the living room.
"Well.." Said Wild, stifling a belch and patting his stomach happily. "I have to say I could get used to this." He leaned back and sighed in contentment next to Hyrule who was already conked out on Sky's shoulder; Full, warm, safe, and content. Sky nodded lazily without opening his eyes, one arm each curled around Hyrule and Wind who was dozing against his friend with Sky's sailcloth draped over them like a blanket. Time, Twilight and Wars looked over from the window where they had been seated comfortably and talking about the evening's events. Time poured another glass of the very fine malt and stared down into the amber liquid. He felt the pleasant warmth spreading through his tired body, and making his head buzz pleasantly. It had been a while since he'd had a good strong drink.. probably years, and he was savoring the experience.
"I said…What now?" Wars voice brought The Hero of Time back into the present. Fortunately, he didn't have to mull the question long. A strange chiming sound came from a square of glass by the door. Time, Wars and Twilight made their way to it. It glowed softly and showed a distorted image of a man that appeared to be mostly forehead and nose. He grumbled and tapped his foot in irritation. Winona, who had disappeared from the living area a good hour ago had reappeared looking clean and refreshed.
"Showers open." She said in a soft sing-song "Who's next?" When she saw the doorbell camera her smile froze and then dropped off. "Ah, shit…"
