Chapter 12
The Past vs The Future
In the city Ansur, the Dogs were being forced out or killed by the armies of Ken and the Rangers. Kelvin was being the "spear head" of sorts, pushing through the enemy ranks like the rampaging rhino he is, while Alicia and Michal were busy getting refuges to safety as mages and clerics healed them and Eric was busy going through the city with a small group, picking off stragglers that tried to escape their grasp. Evident by Eric slashing another Orc across its throat with Saba, causing it to fall over dead while all around him the troops were battling and exterminating any scum they could find.
"Psst, you'd think after Feoh they'd know when to give up" Eric said looking over the now empty street
"I concur, they are not very bright" Saba added making Eric chuckle
Of course that smile was replaced by a look of concern as looked out at the castle in the distance. Eric's eyes filled with worry as he can only hope for the best for his friend.
"Be careful Alex…please" Eric silently said as walked down the street to the next fight

A sword then came down to the ground, kicking up dust as it landed into the soil. A fist then came at a man's face, only to miss by an inch. Alex and Vault then stood back from each other circling each other, both of them breathing heavily.
"You've got a lot of guts kid, I didn't think you would survive this long" Vault said holding up his sword
"Thanks but flattery won't save your life" Alex replied
The two warriors then charged again, with Vault swinging down at Omega as Alex blocked the strike with his arm, causing a small amount of sparks to come from the point of contact. Alex then pushed the blade back and tried to hit Vault with a kick to his head, but he moved back before he was hit. This has being going on for several hours now, both of them trying to land hits and both failing as well. Alongside them was Maia, looking on with batted breath at the scene she was watching. Now Maia was no means a coward, she would have gladly entered that battle to help Alex but she knew that was suicide for her. She was skilled no doubt about it but she knew her skills were nowhere near as good as Vault's and she hated herself because of it.
'If only I can help, dang it! If there ever was a time to curse my own weakness it's now!' she shouted in hear head as she watched the fight go on, 'Please Alex…stay alive' Maia thought
Alex then sidestepped another slash from Vault and tried to hit him with a roundhouse kick, but Vault then raised his arm to block the attack. Alex then back flipped away from the man and got back into his stance. Vault then hefted his sword onto his shoulder and turned to look at Omega with his famous smug look.
"You know I've got know something?" Vault asked, confusing Alex
"And what's that?" Alex asked, still holding his stance
"Why do help these women? Back in the day, before I became the man I am today they treated me like crud" Vault said, "And even when I gained the power and status I have today, they still treated me like trash, so again I ask, why help them?" Vault finished
Alex was silent, Vault's words playing over and over in his head. Though through that jumbled pile of words a small memory surfaced, it was him just a few years ago holding his father's badge in his hands, crying loudly as tears dripped down his face and onto the badge. Alex then shook his head to clear his mind and focused on Vault.
"Let's just say, I'm keeping a promise" Alex said
Alex then lifted the handle on his morpher, causing Vault to scowl and Maia to smile.
"Omega Morpher, Electro Mode"
Alex then twist and charged his hand, causing it to glow yellow, until slamming the handle back in place and jumped at Vault with his arm outstretched. But once was close enough, just a few feet from touching him, Vault then raised his sword in front of him as Alex touched it. One would expect a metal sword to conduct electricity and transfer it to who was holding it, but here that did not happen. Instead all the sword did was absorb the electricity and made it disappear, much to Alex's and Maia's surprise.
"What?!" Alex shouted looking at Vault, who was once again smirking
"Surprised? I had Kin enchant my blade to nullify energy based attacks, which is perfect for you!" Vault shouted as he lifted his sword
Alex was still stunned from his failed attack that he didn't have time to react as Vault's sword came down on him. Vault then slashed across Omega's chest, causing a huge amount of sparks to erupt forth as Alex cried in pain.
"AHHH" he shouted as he landed on his back, clutching his chest in pain.
"Alex!" Maia shouted, seeing the hurt Ranger
Vault then started to laugh as he raised his sword and positioned it where Alex was.
"Guess you Ranger, aren't as invincible as you clam you are" he said as thrusted downward
Luckily, Alex then rolled out of the way of the blade just as it stabbed the ground. Alex then spun on his back like a break dancer and got right back on his feet.
"It's going to take more than that to bring me down" Alex said making Vault scoff
"Show off" he said and raised his sword
Alex pulled up the handle on the morpher yet again and twisted it, turning his hand blue.
"Hyper Mode"
Alex then slammed the handle back in place causing the world to slow down and delivered a flurry of punches to Vault, causing the man to slide back from the hits. Once the effect was over Alex expected to Vault to be hurt just a little bit but instead he looked just fine.
"What the…how did you get through that?!" Alex shouted in disbelief
"Special armor, crafted from reinforced iron" Vault said making Alex tighten his fist, "As you can see, I have prepared myself for the day I would fight you rangers…from this day forth I will be, your destroyer!" he shouted out and charged at Alex
Vault then swung at Alex, causing him to jump over Vault to avoid the attack but Vault turned around and slashed at Alex's back, causing sparks to erupt and Alex to shout in pain. Vault tried to slash at him again but Alex blocked it with his arm. Alex then kicked Vault in the chest pushing him back. Alex then tried to punch Vault, but to his horror Vault grabbed his arm and did not hesitate to slash across his chest twice causing more sparks to fly and tossed him aside.
"Alex!" Maia shouted and rushed to his side
Maia then quickly scooped him up in her arms as she looked him over for any injuries. Much to her relief there was none.
"Step aside Maia, I'm going to finish this brat" Vault said walking toward them
Quickly Maia then stood in front of Alex and drew the sword Alex took from Michelle and held it in front of her.
"Leave him alone Vault" Maia said, glaring at her ex-crush
Alex then pushed himself off the ground and on his elbows while groaning from the pain, only to see Maia standing in front of him, sword in hand.
"Maia no, get back!" Alex said but she wasn't listening
Vault then laughed at the scene before him as he pointed his sword at her.
"You're really going to try and fight me?" Vault said as Maia held her ground
"Yes…I am, Alex saved me It's my turn to help him now" Maia said
Vault then laughed and swung at the redhead, causing her to raise her sword and block it. She then pushed the sword away and swung at him, but Vault simply sidestepped the attack until hitting her in the stomach, causing the air to leave her lungs and collapse to the ground.
"Maia!" Alex shouted, scrambling to his feet
But before he could go and help her, Vault then grabbed him from behind and pointed his sword under his chin. Alex struggled to get out the man's grasp but he was surprisingly strong.

"You won't win! I'll see to that!" Alex shouted as Vault laughed
"There you go, saying you can beat me, even though deep down you know it's pointless" Vault said, inching his blade closer, "Don't you see, everything you do, everything you believe is pointless, hero's die all the time so why fight for a "noble cause" when you can have everything you ever wanted" he said making Alex thrash around more
"Never, I'll never believe that!" Alex shouted making Vault groan
"Why? What's so important that you keep fighting like this huh, WHAT?!" Vault shouted back
Why was he fighting this hard? What was he fighting for?
(Flashback)
A ten year old Alex was sitting with his dad in the garage, watching him clean his pistol. He always loved to watch his dad work, it was so cool to see him use that pistol and the cool badge he flashed at people, but there has always been one thing that he always wondered.
"Hey dad?" Alex asked getting his father's attention, "Why did you become a cop?" he asked making his father smile
Unfortunately the room was a bit dark and he couldn't see he's father's face too much, but that was okay.
"You know, I'm actually glad you asked that question" he said as he put his cleaning supplies down, "Well…you see Alex, I became a cop because of a dream I have" he said confusing Alex
"What dream dad?" Alex asked
His father then looked out into the night sky in window as Alex looked as well.
"Tell me Alex, when you look outside that window what do you see?" his father asked making Alex think hard.

"True, but not to me" he said as looked out, "What I see, is the whole world and in that world are happy, smiling and safe people" he said making Alex look up at the sky with wonder
"That's my dream Alex, to see world full of happiness and safety for everyone, and I know that it will be hard because whenever there is good, there is also evil" Alex's father said with a sigh but before turning back to smile, "But know this Alex, that no matter how much evil throws at you just know that as long as you've got good heart, evil will always lose" he said
Young Alex then looked out the window with amazement.
(End Flashback)
Alex then gripped his hand tightly as he his body quacked not with fear…but resolve.
"My father" Alex said making Vault look at him in confusion, "My father had a dream! A dream where everyone was happy and safe! And even though he's gone, he's dream…IS MY DREAM!"

Alex's morpher then flashed to life, surprising Vault. Omega then grabbed hold of Vault sword with his hand and started to pull it away much to Vault's surprise. He then tried to push back but to his shock Omega was over powering him.
"How? How are you this strong?!" Vault shouted
"Because I have something you will never have, support from my friends and family and a reason to fight!" Alex shouted
Alex then tightened his grip more on the sword, causing the metal to creak and bend under the pressure. Then with one finally squeeze, Vault's sword shattered into pieces.
Vault stumbled back in shock as he gazed at his now broken sword, but his surprise was short lived as Alex then punched Vault in the chest so hard that his armor cracked and sent him flying across the court yard.

In that time Maia woke up and weakly pushed herself.
"What happened?" she said rubbing her aching head
Suddenly she remembered Alex and quickly turned to him, only to find Alex okay and Vault on the ground, and to her shock his sword was shattered!
"Alex…did that?" Maia quietly said as she looked up at the Ranger

"Time to finish this Vault!" Alex shouted and raised his morpher
Alex then pulled up on the handle of his morpher, and started to twist it.
"Omega Morpher…"
Alex's hand then glowed a new color now, gold.
"Light beam Mode!"
Alex then slammed the handle back in place, causing his whole fist to cover in golden light as he cocked it back. Alex then jumped high into the air, causing Vault and Maia to look up. Alex then came back down holding his fist back and heading straight for Vault. Seeing this Vault then gained the first look of fear on his face since this war began.
'There's no way, I can't block an attack like that, I'm finished!' Vault shouted in his head
"FIRE!"
Alex then thrusted out his fist and struck Vault in the chest causing a huge shockwave. Once Omega landed he then turned around from Vault and held up his morpher, while behind him Vault started to erupt in sparks until falling forward in a fiery explosion. Seeing the spectacle, Maia looked on with absolute amazement, until jumping to her feet and hugging Alex tightly, much to Alex's embarrassment.
"Can't believe it, you beat Vault!" she said as Alex chuckled
Yeah, but trust me it wasn't easy" Alex replied with a chuckle
Suddenly they heard a groan from behind them, causing them to turn around and see Vault. He was alive but defiantly worse for wear, with multiply bruises and his armor completely shattered. He then shakily rose to his feet as Alex and Maia took up their fighting stances.
"You…brat…how dare you do this to me" Vault said, in a low and gravelly voice
He was defiantly hurt no doubt about and without his armor or weapon he was pretty much defenseless.
"Give up Vault, you got no options left" Alex said
Vault then reached into his cape and pulled out a gleaming stone and held it over his head, but not before glaring a Omega with a hateful stare.
"This war…isn't over…Ranger" Vault said
He then slammed the stone against the ground near his feet, causing it to break and a flash of light to erupt forth, causing Alex and Maia to cover their eyes. Once the light was gone, so was Vault, making Alex click his tongue in annoyance.
"Tch, coward" Alex said
"Maybe, but maybe that beat down you gave him might take him down a few pegs" Maia remarked with a smirk as well as Alex.
Suddenly the ground then started to shake making the two to become unsteady. Alex then raised his morpher to his face and contacted Eric.
"Eric?! What's going on?!" Alex shouted into the morpher
"Just look over the wall" Eric replied
Alex then grabbed Maia from around the waist and jumped on top of the wall of castle to get a better view. Then over the wall, they saw what looked like crystals growing out of the ground and started to form a bipedal shape. The crystals then started to glow until they become another golem creature, this time being made of clear crystals and a crown of spikes on its head. Along with that it had razor sharp claws for hands and two large spikes on its shoulders. The Golem then let out a roar causing the castle to shake.
"Guess Vault left us a present" Alex said glaring up at the monster
"Should we get Michal to handle this?" Maia asked, making Alex chuckle
"No need" he replied, confusing her, "He's not the only one with a zord" Alex said stepping forward
Alex then raised his morpher and tapped some buttons on it causing it to flash red and green.
"OmegaMax Cycle, activate!"
Suddenly a giant white portal appeared behind the monster, shocking Maia. A siren could then be heard coming from the portal, growing louder and loader until out of the portal, came Alex's zord. It was giant futuristic white motorcycle with flashing red lights and four giant exhaust pipes on the back that spewed blue fire.
"Excuse me" Alex said to Maia and jumped
Alex then landed in his zord, strapped himself in and grabbed hold of the steering wheel.
"Okay, let's do this" Alex said pressing down on the gas pedal
The golem then roared at Alex and thrusted it's claws out and fired a barrage of crystals at Alex, but the Ranger simply dodged the attack and kept on his path. Once he was close enough, Alex then pressed some buttons on his console until hitting a large red button.
"Megazord transformation!"
The exhaust pipes then erupted with flames, causing the cycle to flip upward on its nose. The cycle then twisted around and its bottom split forming legs, and hands popped out its side, turning the cycle into its Megazord form.
"Okay ugly, let's dance!"
(SPD Theme)
The monster then charged at Alex but Alex stood in place. The monster then tried to claw at him, but then the two golden pieces on its front blocked the attack and sent the monster tumbling to the ground.
"Nice try" Alex remarked wagging his finger at the golem, "Now it's my turn" he said and hit the gas
The Megazord then charged at the golem and hit it in the face with a jab and followed that up with a punch to its gut, or whatever made ups its guts. The megazord then Spartan kicked the monster in the chest making it tumble to the ground in a heap.
"Had enough?" Alex said
But the monster then got back on its feet and fired a barrage of crystals at the Megazord making Alex turn his wheel making the Megazord sidestep the attack.
"You want a play that game fine with me!" Alex said as pressed another button on his console, "Blades deploy!"
The megazord then spun its arms around until two large blades appeared under its arms and got into fighting stance. The zord then charged at the monster and slashed at its chest, causing sparks to erupt. Alex then slashed at its back making it stumble forward. The golem then turned around tried to swipe at him, but Alex blocked the attack and stabbed the golem in the chest causing it to fall over.
"Time to finish this" Alex said
The zord's feet then connected back together, causing its tires to rev up. The zord then jumped its front and rode on the ground with its arms outstretched and went full throttle to the monster.
"Spin Attack!"
The megazord then jumped into the air and started to rotate super-fast, causing it to slice up the monster into bits until landing on the other side of the monster. The Megazord then placed it's blade on top the other, while Alex gave a thumbs down.
"You're going down!"
The megazord then dragged his blade down the front, making a shing sound. The monster then exploded in a fiery display as crystals flew around the area.

Everyone then cheered for the ranger on the ground, while up in castle Maia still looked up at the Megazord with awe making her heart beat faster and her face to flush.
"Alex Copper…now there is a true hero" she said as smiled graced her face

Once the battle was over and they cleaned up Ansur, everyone made their way back to Ken for rest and healing. As for Alex, he left the report of the battle to his friends while he reported to someone else. Alex, along with Maia, had entered the Pantielle mansion with Michelle's card in Alex's hand and the family sword in Maia's. They then meet with the patriarch himself and handed him the sword and even freed his son to him. Michael then went as far as disowned his own son and stripped him of his noble status, and with one simply nod, Alex then recaptured the fat man…on the biases of a life sentence.
Once that was done Maia suggested they celebrate their victory with a few rounds from the bar, which of course brings us here.
