Chapter 13
Silence in the Storm
"Just one…can I please have one day off from these guys!" Michal shouted as slashed at an Ogre that came at him.
Right now, Michal and Alex were in the middle of battlefield in the city of Rad, home of the Halfling princess Lulu. They were sent there early this morning due to an emergency summons from Lulu about a surprise attack on her kingdom. So they were sent ahead to assist but once they got there, they were meet with a … very unimpressive attack force. The attack force was mostly consisted of large monsters, ranging from Orcs to Cyclops but due to their little numbers they were easily being picked off one by one.
"I don't know why your complaining, were almost done with this group already" Alex said, kicking an ogre in the head, cracking its neck in the process.
They then heard the splatter of blood beside them, seeing Lulu herself cleaving a cyclops in half with her battle axe. She sported a huge grin on her face as she wiped some sweat from her forehead.
"Ah, and this was getting fun!" Lulu said looking over the battlefield
Most of the group has already been taken care of and all that were left were stragglers now and they were being taken care of already. The three of them then decided to take a rest as Lulu's soldiers took out the last of the raiding party.
"So why were these guys here anyway?" Alex asked the Halfling
"Well we thought they were after our people, as usual, but to our surprise most of them tried to get our resources instead" Lulu replied confusing the rangers
This was news to them, it was so unlike them to not try and capture/rape women. The only reason they could think of, that they would do this if Vault's resources were dwindling and considering that Vault already was dealt two devastating defeats back to back, it actually makes sense.
"Guess Vault's getting desperate to do something like this" Michal said making Lulu chuckle
"Indeed, especially after Omega here beat him up good!" she said pointing her thumb at Alex
Alex then blushed under his helmet as rubbed the back of neck in embarrassment.
"Oh…you heard about that" Alex said making Lulu grin
"Of course we do, Maia wouldn't stop talking about it this morning…among other things~" Lulu said with a sly smirk
Alex then froze up as Michal looked at him with a look of confusion behind his visor.
"What is she talking about?" Michal asked making Lulu smile mischievously
"Oh, he didn't tell you…that he and Maia are now a thing now" she said making Alex groan as Michal gasp in surprise
"You and Maia!?" Michal shouted in surprise at Alex
Alex then turned at Michal and shook his fist at him.
"Says you! You got with Alicia!" Alex shouted at him
Michal and Alex then froze just as Alex's words left his mouth as they turned to Lulu, who had her mouth open in shock.
"Wait…you and Alicia are together?!" Lulu shouted in surprise
Michal then slowly nodded to this as both Michal and Alex sweated under their helmets. They expected the Halfling to start beating the daylights out of them, but instead they were meet with a tight hug from the, surprisingly, strong girl as she giggled with glee.
"Congratulations you two!" she shouted as the two looked at each other in confusion.
"Your…not mad!" Michal asked
"Nah, I'm actually glad Alicia has someone now, might actually help with that temper of hers" Lulu said with a playful smirk until turning to Alex "And Maia deserves someone who will love her back, not like what Vault did" Lulu added, growling at the end
Both rangers then let out a sigh of relief, thinking they were out of fire until Luu then pointed her battle axe at the two and gave them a very hard glare.
"But if you hurt their feelings in anyway, I will not hesitate to change your gender…the bloody way" she said, making the two Rangers nod rapidly. Seeing this Lulu then went back to her chipper attitude as the two boys relaxed. Of course there relax time ended when the ground started to rumble again and just over the walls of the city was another one of Vault's golems, this one being made of metal and looked like a sumo wrestler, with spiked shoulder pads and a wrecking ball for one hand.
"Looks like Vault pulled out the big guns" Michal said with a smirk
"Then I guess we better bust out our big guns" Alex added, making Luu squeal in delight
"Zords! Zords! Zords! Zords!" She shouted jumping up and down
The rangers then rolled their eyes at this as they raised their morphers up.
"OmegaMax Cycle!"
"Dragozord! Stegozord!"
Once the command was issued, their respective zords then arrived as they jumped into them.
"Dino Stegozord Formation!"
"OmegaMax Megazord!"
There turned into their megazord forms and stood at the ready as they faced there foe.
"Ready Alex?" Michal asked over the comms
"Ready as always" Alex replied
The metal golem then opened it mouth and spewed out a stream of molten metal at the two but they quickly dodged it.
"Ew, that's just nasty" Alex said as he hit the gas pedal
The Omega zord then charged at the golem and punched it in the face, causing a massive clang to be heard. The golem then stumbled back in pain as it clutched its head in pain; it then shook it off and charged with its wreaking ball. It then swung but was blocked by the Stegozords weapon.
"Nah ah, not on my watch" Michal said wagging his finger at the golem
The Stegozord then pushed back against the monster making it wobble slightly, which was the prefect opening for Michal as he swung at the golem causing sparks to fly and the golem to fall over. The golem then struggled to get up on its two feet making the two sigh.
"Hey man, how about we just finish this!" Michal asked
"Yeah, let's put this thing out of its misery" Alex said
The golem then got back on its feet, all be it a little shaky, and faced them only to see the Omega zord with its blades out and the Stegozords stinger in place to fire.
"Spin Attack!"
The Omega zord then charged forward on it wheels until launching into the air and spun, easily slicing into the golem's armor.
"Stegostinger, Fire!"
Michal then followed up Alex's attack with his own and fired the spear right at the golem and out the other side. The golem then sparked with lighting until falling over and exploding as all the rest. Down below all the Halflings were cheering and awing at the Megazord fight that was just shown, even Lulu awed along with them as she looked at the zords with star struck eyes.
"One day, maybe not today or tomorrow but one day I will make my own zord, just you wait Rangers!" she shouted with excitement.

After the battle in Rad, the Rangers and Lulu went to back to Ken in order to give their report to Celestine. Once they arrived they then told Celestine there report about the battle and during all this, Celestine grew a smile on her face.
"…and once we summoned our zords, we basically took out the golem and that's it" Alex said, finishing the report
"Thank you Alex" Celestine said with a nod
Eric, who was close by Celestine, noticed her smiling.
"What's got you all happy?" Eric asked the goddess, making her giggle
"Well aside from the low number of injuries and no casualties, I have feeling this war is almost over" Celestine said, confusing the Rangers
"What do mean by that your Holiness?" Kelvin asked making another voice chuckle
Right beside Celestine was Olga, who also had a faint smile on her face as well.
"Isn't it obvious, Vault's getting reckless" she said, making the others realize what they meant, "Ever since Vault lost to Alex and after losing two major cities, he's become desperate and is taking risks now" Olga said with a smirk
"And if he keeps slipping up, this war will be over very soon" Eric finished
Everyone in the room then gained a feeling of relief and calmness at this news. After all, if this is right then that means there troubles will be almost be over soon.
"Also there was also something else I wanted to tell you all" Celestine said, getting the rangers attention, "Since it's been quite as of late, I think it's about time you Rangers had a…day off" she said
The rangers, minus from Eric who just smiled, cheered at this at the idea of day off for once since this war began sounded very good.
"Thank you your holiness" Eric said bowing to her making her smile
"Well…what are waiting for, go enjoy yourselves" she said
So with a bow from each of them, the four Rangers went out to go do their own thing, all the while Celestine kept her gaze on Eric as he left with the rest. So once everyone was gone, Celestine's smile slowly turned to frown which Olga took notice of.
"You know he's not going to tell you right?" Olga said, making the High elf sigh
"I know Olga…but I can try" she said as she walked from her throne room, with Olga right beside her.

With each of the Rangers now on their time off, they instantly got down to doing what they wanted to do and for Michal, that was spend some time with his princess girlfriend at last. Michal was in the town square, waiting for Alicia to show up as he sat at the edge of the fountain in the square.
'Late as usually' Michal thought looking up at the sky
Of course he didn't blame her; after all she was the ruler of an entire kingdom that is undergoing rebuilding after their attack. Luckily progress has been going along smoothly had the city was practically back on its feet.
'Let's just hope the people can bounce back soon' Michal thought until he heard someone running to him
Looking to his left he then saw a very familiar women running towards him with a huge smile on her face, Alicia.
"Michal!" She shouted as she practically jumped into his arms making Michal laugh in joy
"Alicia! It's so good to see you again!" Michal said, hugging the princess
Alicia then leaned forward and pressed her lips against his as they kissed passionately. Once they separated, Alicia then clung to Michal's arm as she snuggled close to him.
"I don't have long here, so do you have any plans today?" Alicia asked
Michal then smirked as he pulled out a flyer for a traveling museum of the weird that was going around the land.
"Thought it would be fun, I hope you don't mind?" Michal said as Alicia smiled at him
"Well as long as I'm with you, I don't mind" she said making Michal sigh in relief
So with that said the two then went out to enjoy their time together but in the distance was Prim who was looking at the two with a smile.
"I'm so happy for you sis" she said, until her face turned to a frown, "I just wish I could have been loved like that" she said turning to leave
But as Prim turned her back and walked away, Alicia then looked over her shoulder and softly smiled at her cousin.
'Don't worry Prim, you will be loved too' she thought

With Alex, he was using his time to organize the prisoner files he had. It was much needed since the battle of Ansur he had so many files about each of his prisoners that he captured and needed to sort them out for classification.
"Huh, such as my job" Alex said as he placed a pile of papers in a bin on the left.
Though as Alex sorted through the papers on his deck, he didn't notice the sound of his door opening behind him until a pair of arms then wrapped around him and gave him a tight hug.
"Hi there Alex~~" a very flirtatious voice said
With a smirk Alex then turned to his surprise hugger, who was of course was Maia with her sweet smile and giggling with glee.
"Hi Maia, nice to see you again" Alex said with a smile
Alex then leaned forward and pecked her on the cheek, making the mercenary princess giggle like a school girl.
"So what are doing?" Maia asked looking over the pile of files on Alex's desk
"Oh just sorting some prisoner files, that's all" Alex replied, making Maia groan
"Uh, boring" she said making Alex roll his eyes
"Yeah, buts it's what I got a do" Alex said as went back to work
(Small lime)
Maia then let out a sigh as she watched Alex shuffle through paper after paper, and already she was bored. Then an idea then came to her mind, making her gain a devilish grin. Maia then reached slowly between Alex's legs without him noticing and started to slowly rub Alex's crotch, making him shiver in his seat.
"Uh, Maia…I need to…work" Alex said with heavy breathing
"Oh but your always working dear, how about you just … Relax~~" she said whispering softly in his ear
Maia kept on rubbing while Alex kept trying to work, but of course Maia decided to take it up a notch and unzipped Alex's zipper, causing his erect manhood to spring out making Maia smile lustfully at Alex.
"Maia…please I have to…" Alex said until he was cut off by Maia's hand stroking him
Alex started to moan greatly from this, completely forgetting his work and now focusing on the pleasure Maia was giving him.
"There you go sweetie, doesn't that feel good?~~" Maia said
That was the last straw, Alex then smashed his lips against Maia's as they made their way to the bed.
"You always know how to trigger me Maia" Alex said with a smirk as Maia licked her lips
"Oh I know, now ravage me!" she said

Just outside Kelvin was walking by Alex's room, just coming back from a jog around the castle gardens. Though when he got close to Alex's door he could hear something, it sounded like…moaning? Kelvin then got a little closer and started make out two voices, one was definitely Alex but the other sounded a lot like … Maia.
'What is Maia doing in Alex's room?' Kelvin thought
But he soon got he's answer when heard a very loud Maia shouting.
"YES BABY YES! GIVE ME EVERTHING YOU GOT!"
Kelvin then blushed greatly, turning his whole face red as he slowly walked away from the door. He then slowly walked down the hall to his room, once there he proceeded to jump on his bed and groan into his pillow.
"We need to soundproof those doors" Kelvin groaned

In the next room over was Eric, who was busy doing some martial arts training with his personal Wing Chun wooden dummy. While Eric was super focused on his training, his mind wasn't in the greatest of places. He could see himself back in the hospital, watching through the window as they wheeled the charred remains of his parents off, causing tears to stream down his face and him to sob. The images only got worse when the hospital was then engulfed in flames, causing people cry out in aguish and pain. Eric then slapped his hands over his ears, trying to drown out the cries but to no avail. It only got worse when Eric saw something even worse, his friends lying on the ground, blood pooling around their bodies while there Ranger helmets were ablaze.
"No…no…no…nonononononnononon…NO!"
Eric then punched so hard, one the pegs to the dummy came flying off its base and clanged against the wall. Eric panted as he felt his heart rapidly beat in his chest, making him start to take deep breaths as he grabbed a towel on his bed to dry himself off of the sweat. Eric's been having that daydream for quite some time now, ever since their parents died and even when he falls asleep.
'My friends…the only family I have left now' Eric thought, tightening his grip on his towel
He then jumped slightly at the sound of a knock on his door, causing him to throw on his shirt.
"Come in" Eric said
The door then opened to reveal Celestine herself making Eric bow to her.
"Your majesty had no idea you were coming" Eric said making Celestine giggle
"I just decided to pop in for a visit" she said as she entered, "you may rise" she said as Eric rose from his position
"So what's going on, do you need me for anything your holiness?" Eric asked making Celestine frown
"Eric, were alone in here you can call me by my name" she said shocking Eric, "and no, I just want to talk" she added
Eric then grabbed a chair and sat down while Celestine sat on Eric's bed.
"So what do you want to talk about?" Eric asked
"Well…about you" Celestine said
Eric then went slightly rigid at this, he never liked talking about himself, to many bad memories come up but since she asked he might as well tell a little bit.
"What's there to know, I'm the leader of the Power Rangers and I do martial arts in the my spare time, not a lot to talk about" Eric said making Celestine frown
"There's more to you then just that…I can see it in your eyes" she said making Eric slump in his seat, "I see you have a kind spirit inside you that much is certain…but I also see much pain in your eyes" she said
Eric then looked away from the high elf, making her grimace at the sight. She then got up from her spot and walked over to him, she then gently placed a hand on Eric's shoulder making the white ranger shiver slightly.
"Olga told me…you protect those three with everything you have" she said making Eric clasp his hands together, "I know that they are your friends, but there's more to that?" she added
Eric was then silent; he didn't say anything at all, Celestine simply waited for him to speak…but nothing came. With a heavy sigh Celestine then walked to the door and opened it, but not before turning to Eric with a sadden look.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to…but please know that you don't have to shoulder your burden alone…we are here for you as much as you are for us" Celestine said as she walked out the door and closing it.
Once she was gone, Eric finally let the tears he held back out as he felt the sadness take over.
"I'm sorry Celestine…but this is my pain to bear" Eric said as he's tears fell

In the city of Thorn, Kaguya had arrived home after helping a delivery of some supplies to Rad to help Lulu in the reconstruction of her city.
"I'm glad she's okay, I just hope this war all ends soon" She said to herself
She then walked up the stairs to her temple, ready to begin her daily prayer, but when she walked in she was surprised to find no one inside. Already she felt nervous at the lack of guards or shrine maidens in the temple, causing her to pull out one her talismans and walk in. The temple was deathly quiet as she walked through the halls, already feeling the hairs on the back her neck stick up fear.
"Hello!?" Kayguya called out, but got no answer
Her hand then tightened into a fist as she kept walking, she had already made it to the alter and still found no one. Now she was truly scared, no one was here and worst of all she still couldn't get rid of this terrible feeling.
"What is going on, where is everybody?" she said to herself
"Why don't I tell you?" A voice said in the dark, making her turn around in shock
At first she saw no one, making her lower her hand and put away her talisman.
"I must be losing it" Kaguya said, hugging herself
Suddenly something then grabbed her from behind, holding her tight and pinning her arms to her sides. She then craned her head to look at what was holding her, making her gasp in shock and horror. The creature looked to be a humanoid bug, with pincers for hands and a head like that of a wasp. Its body was a sickly green and had a black shell on its back.
"Let go of me, you fiend!" she demanded the monster
She then heard a laugh coming from down the hall making her turn to the sound. Then out of the dark came a very familiar figure to Kaguya.
"Hello Kaguya…it's been a awhile" the voice said
Then out of the shadow came a man, one that was wearing a black cloak, his face and hands covered in dirty bandages, showing only his mouth and eyes to the world. It was Shamuhaza, a once friend to Kaguya but was banished from her kingdom years ago.
"Shamuhaza?! What are doing here?!" Kugaya shouted at the man
"It's it obvious, to complete what I began, to create the ultimate insect to rival god" he said with smile making Kaguya glare at him
"Where is everyone?!" Kaguya shouted making the man chuckle
"Oh don't worry old friend, there save and sound in the dungeons or as I like to call them "my breeding chamber"" Shamuhaza said making Kaguya gasp
"You…you monster!" she shouted as Shamuhaza smirked
"Oh don't worry Kaguya, you'll be joining them soon enough" he said
Hearing this Kaguya then slammed the back of her head against the bug monster face, causing it to let go of her. She then quickly ran over to the alter and grabbed hold of a red paper talisman on the wall and quickly ripped it. She then turned to run, but was quickly caught and held in place by the bug monster again. Shamuhaza then looked down at the talisman and smirked.
"An emergency talisman, you contacted the Power Rangers didn't you?" he asked
"Yes I did and they will come and destroy you!" Kaguya shouted with a glare
Shamuhaza then chuckled as he looked at Kaguya dead in the eye.
"Let them come."
