Please enjoy. :)
The brandy was indeed fine... Wars had to admit. He looked down into the delicate crystal. The sweet fragrance of cherries and apples wafted up as he swirled his glass gently, admiring the deep red-amber color. The taste was even better. Ravio had gone on at length about it before even pouring. Apparently, it came from a city called 'Calvados' from some faraway kingdom called 'France'. It was one of the best drinks he had ever had all truths be told and it was starting to hit him quite hard. He didn't even mind the aging merchant's ramblings anymore or the absolutely heinous smoke from his cigar that wafted around the room and clung to the heavy velvet curtains. He just let the calm ambiance wash over him and let the brandy's warm fragrant goodness envelop his senses and vibed to the soft music. Ravio, it turned out, was a huge Ella Fitzgerald fan, and though Wars had never experienced anything like her smooth jazzy crooning, he found himself agreeing complete! Oh, if only there were some way to concentrate the magic of her voice and keep it with him forever... He hummed quietly along to her tune, swaying side to side, lost in the music. An ugly sounding snort pulled him from his private reverie. He opened his eyes and frowned when he saw Legend grinning at him. He and Four had apparently been watching him for an unknown amount of time and were living for his starstruck little dance. Rather than feel embarrassed, though he was only irritated.
"Can I help you 'Boys'?" He said, clearing his throat.
"Oh, no nono no." Legend smirked. " I was just commenting to the Smithy that I'd never seen you so relaxed before. One might mistake you for someone with a more genteel disposition."
Four snickered at this and Wars frowned. I may not be of a 'royal ilk'…but I do recognize and enjoy class when it is there to be had."
Legend busted up laughing at this to Wars surprise. "That's not what I meant pretty boy…Chill. We-" He gestured between himself and Four "grew up playing with dirt-clods, like most of our brethren... I was simply commenting that you seemed so taken with the music. I get it! I do... I too am a sucker for a fine set of pipes. Why, were this arresting beauty alive in this present, I would ask her to be my bride..." He joked about the purring vocals of Ella as she sang 'In a Sentimental Mood.'
"Not if I beat you to it.." Smirked Four over the rim of his glass. "She sounds like a woman of more refined tastes. She'd probably like me better anyways, you crooked-nosed knave."
"Prickly little sod." Legend retorted without even looking at him.
"Pricky, am I now!" Four balked.
Wars hummed at this little exchange and gave a small chuckle, once again losing himself in the soft scatting tune. He offered his comparatively shorter companions a toast. "To the winsome songstresses of the world… May Hylia have mercy on our sweet fragile hearts and grant us the pluck and moxie to court them."
Four shrugged and raised his glass. "Why not? The Old Man managed to snag one..."
Legend raised his glass and sighed. "You Sir, are a Hopeless and naive romantic."
"And you are a jaded cynic and a fool."
The trio toasted to that end.
