I think it's stupid to say this, but I do not own anything related to the shows/manga Bleach or Highschool DXD. If I did a lot of different shit would be canon, author's note at the bottom.

Takamagahara

"There are many reasons I decided now was the time to retrieve you my son. First and foremost was to keep you from getting caught up in the machinations of Soul Society." When Tsukoyomi said Soul Society, he turned his head and mimed spitting on the ground.

"As I have said, I refuse for you to be their plaything to use and then discard. Another reason I retrieved you has to do with what I said about you being the guardian of the Shinto. My sister Amaterasu is preparing to open Takamagahara to the various other religions to start alliance negotiations. The Shinto has many powerful fighters that have managed to deter any possible violence from other factions. This is a miracle, given our army is one of the smallest in the godly realm. However, that is not enough anymore, we need a protector, we need you, Ichigo." Tsukoyomi said while looking at his son.

"Also, I wanted to speak to you my son. I have waited almost 20 years to see you again, and with everything about to happen, this seemed like the perfect opportunity." When he said this, Tsukoyomi had a small fond smile.

Ichigo sat and digested everything Tsukoyomi had told him during this conversation. He didn't want to say anything poorly. After a few minutes, he spoke, "I have to thank you for keeping me from getting caught up in Soul Societies games. If they had managed to return my powers to me, I would have forgiven them for everything, which is not acceptable. They need to realize their actions will have consequences.

"How am I supposed to protect this place if I have no powers? I can fight other humans fine, but without Zangetsu, I am powerless." Ichigo said while looking at the moon god, unaware of the slight smile on his face at the god's admission that he just wanted to see his son. It has been a long time since anyone other than Tatsuki, Karin, and Yuzu have genuinely wanted him around.

Tsukoyomi looked amused for a second at his son's answer while also wishing that he could have stopped some of the events that hurt Ichigo. "Who said you were powerless my son? Your powers have never gone away. They have simply been buried deep in your soul. A Shinigami's powers are born of their soul; as such, you can not simply lose them any more than you could forfeit your own soul."

"What do you mean I still have my powers?! Tensa Zangetsu and Goat-Chin told me that the Final Getsuga Tensho would make me lose my powers forever. How could my Zanpaktou be wrong?

"Remember the three clans that all have ties to the Shinto? Well, that makes the Soul Reapers from those families special. All soul reapers from those three clans can access a technique that would ensure victory no matter the foe. However, as the old proverb goes, 'Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely.' These techniques gave the soul reaper too much power, fearing the potential consequences of this. My siblings and I made it to where the technique would bury away a soul's power so they could not abuse it."

"The only reason we were able to impose restrictions on the power is because when a soul reaper uses it, they are borrowing power from the concept of our domain. So to a small extent, we were able to make it where the power would hide away, and the Zanpaktou would think that they would be destroyed. That said, your power has never gone away Ichigo, just hidden until you find it again." Tsukoyomi said while not so secretly enjoying the look of absolute shock on his son's face, based on the giggling he heard. Kaga and Akagi also found this very amusing.

It took several minutes for Ichigo's brain to reboot with the information that Zangetsu was not gone and that he could protect what was precious to him again. This time though, he would be much more careful about the allies he chose. 'It is a shame that Tatsuki does not have powers,' Thought Ichigo, utterly unaware of what was happening in the living world.

"How do I get Zangetsu back? What do I need to do?" Ichigo asked while having a serious look on his face.

"Calm yourself Ichigo, while I said you can regain your powers. It is going to be very difficult and time-consuming. It will require you to go into your inner world and search for your power. The process will take several weeks, and I am sure your family would worry about you not returning home for that time." Tsukoyomi said while having a serious look.

Ichigo was stunned for a second, caught off guard when the god had mentioned this. He had not even thought about how his family would feel. Now that he thinks about it, his sisters would have probably checked his room by now and are looking for him. He probably should go back and let them know he was ok. On the other hand, if he stays and regains his powers. He will be strong enough to protect them again.

After a few more minutes of tense silence, Ichigo reached a decision. He then stood up and walked around to Tsukoyomi's side of the table before doing something that no one would ever expect from Ichigo. He bowed low with his head touching the ground, "please show me how to regain my powers so that I am strong enough to protect those I care for!"

It took Tsukoyomi a moment to get over the shock of Ichigo of all people bowing before he answered. "Very well Ichigo, I will help you become strong again, and I hope in time, you will protect Takamagahara with the same enthusiasm you showed the Soul Society. So if you are ready to begin, follow me, and I will take you to where you can stay." At this, Tsukoyomi stood up and started making his way inside.

Ichigo stood and took one last look at the large moon before turning to walk inside. As he walked past them, he gave the Miko-dressed girls a quick thank you for the tea. "Thank you for the tea. It was delicious."

"Your welcome young master. We are happy that you enjoyed the tea. If you need anything once you awaken again, please let us know. And we do mean anything…at…all." Both girls said before finishing in a sultry tone. At the same time, giving Ichigo a smile that reminded him of Yoruichi when she would tease him. This caused him to blush slightly and hurry inside, much to the girl's amusement.

"This is going to be so much fun teasing the young master! I can't wait!" Said Akagi in excitement while almost vibrating in excitement. Kaga did not say anything, just nodded her head at the other girl's words.

With Ichigo and Tsukoyomi inside the temple

Tsukoyomi walked slightly ahead of Ichigo so that he could lead his son to a room where he could meditate without being disturbed. They walked for several minutes, passing by other servants, who bowed low as they passed. On the walls were several paintings and tapestries displaying the many battles he had fought in his very long life.

Against the walls, some tables displayed countless artifacts from those same battles. Which Tsukoyomi had retrieved from both fallen foe and ally alike. If his allies had a family, he would return the artifact, but most times, they did not.

These artifacts served as both a trophy and a reminder of his failure. Before he could continue his musings, Ichigo spoke up. "The amount of history in this place is staggering. The Shinto priests have not included many of these things in their teachings."

"That is because they were not permitted to inform people my son. How do you think the world would react to new stories about the gods from the mouths of their priests. They would either stop praying to us because our priests look like fools, or the supernatural world would be completely exposed. I am sure I do not have to tell you how bad that would be." Said the moon god glancing over his shoulder.

Ichigo thought about it for a second and realized his da*AHEM* Tsukoyomi was right. So deciding to change the topic, he asked about the relics on the walls. What the god said interested Ichigo. He explained how every artifact came from the battle above it. He went on to say that a lot of them were trophies from defeated foes, while some were from fallen allies.

"The ones from my enemies are trophies that I have taken to remember the battle. The ones from allies, however, are reminders of my weakness and inability to save them. They help remind me to be better in the future because gods have a tough time getting stronger through training. So while I do try to get stronger, I devote more time to being better skilled." Tsukoyomi said while stopping to look around the room.

The walls were silver in color that let off the softest light, to the impossibly high ceiling displaying the sky of Takamagahara. The dark blue columns spaced evenly along the hallway, if you could call it that, since ten people could stand side by side and not touch the columns. Then there was the distance from the column to the wall, adding about another eight feet to each side.

Ichigo was surprised at the pain in the god's voice when he talked about the allies he could not save. It reminded him of himself and how much he would push himself to save as many people as possible. Given how the god in front of him created his soul, he should not be too surprised that he has a few similarities to Tsukoyomi.

After another minute of quiet reflection, the god started walking again, Ichigo falling into step behind him. The servants still hurrying about were happy to see the young masters return. What shocked them though, was how much of a resemblance he shared with the deity. To an outsider, they would look like two brothers.

After ten minutes of walking, not counting the temporary stop, Tsukoyomi finally stopped at a door on the right side of the hall. The door was made of dark ebony wood and had a small nameplate that read, 'Ichigo Kurosaki.'

"This here will be your bedroom during your stay in Takamagahara, and it is yours to do with as you please," Tsukoyomi said while opening the bedroom door. Ichigo would never have called the room behind the door a bedroom because it was massive.

'It has to be about 185 square meters!' Ichigo thought in shock, looking at the massive bedroom. The room had navy blue walls, soft-looking white carpet, silver light fixtures on the walls, and a large one hanging from the ceiling. Against the wall on the right was a king-size platform bed with white covers. On each side of the bed was a nightstand. There was a large wooden desk against the back wall underneath a giant window with a great view of the various floating islands of Takamagahara. There were also multiple bookcases scattered around the room full of books. In the middle of the room were two black leather couches with a small table between them.

On the left-hand side of the room was a single door, which was either a closet or a bathroom. Tsukoyomi answered that it was a private bathroom with an attached walk-in closet. How the god knew what he was thinking was honestly more than what he wanted to deal with now. Ichigo just wanted to get started on regaining his powers.

Tsukoyomi seemed to pick up on his son's impatience, so he motioned for Ichigo to sit on the bed with his hand. After sitting on the bed with his legs crossed, Ichigo waited for the moon god to tell him what he needed to do.

Tsukoyomi stood at the foot of the bed and took a second to get his thoughts in order before locking eyes with his son. "Alright Ichigo, the path to regaining your powers starts with you meditating to enter your inner world. This requires you to visualize your inner world, hold that picture with absolute focus, and imagine yourself being there. This may take some time, but I am confident you will succeed. After you manage to get into your Inner world, the hard part begins. You must search your soul for your buried powers. They could be anywhere and will not be easy to find."

"After you have managed to find them, the spirit will decide if they want to come back. Zanpaktou spirits can hold grudges sometimes, and if your spirit is mad at you, they may reject you. If you become one with your powers again, you should be able to leave your inner world. That is one thing I forgot to mention, until you find your power, you will be stuck in your inner world. Are you prepared Ichigo? If you have any more questions before I leave you to your journey, now is the time."

"When I wake up again, will you help me understand the Shinto Pantheon better? If I am going to Protect Takamagahara, I should probably be knowledgeable about it." Ichigo said this with a slight grin on his face. Tsukoyomi was stunned by what he heard, not expecting his son to ask that. He figured it would take longer for Ichigo to want to join them. The moon god decided he did not care and could always find out the reason later, so he nodded with a giant grin. The moon god then bid his son goodbye before making his way out of the room.

Ichigo sat there for a moment, looking around the room before closing his eyes. He Imagined his Inner world, from the tall sideways skyscrapers that were too numerous to count, the clear blue sky, and the flag pole where old man Zangetsu would stand.

For several hours, Ichigo meditated on this image with no success accessing his inner world. He sat there wondering if he might have forgotten any details about his inner world. That was impossible, right? It was a manifestation of his soul, so how could he forget anything about it.

As if the heavens themselves were answering his question, Ichigo heard thunder outside. Unaware that it was just a spat between Raijin and Susanoo, which caused a minor storm to brew close to Tsukoyomi's floating island. When Ichigo heard that thunder, it suddenly clicked what he was forgetting!

His inner world reflected his emotional state, and he has progressively been getting more depressed since he lost his powers. He remembered earlier in class, not realizing that it was yesterday. When it was raining during class, he contemplated how his inner world would have been flooded. So thinking about his inner world being flooded, he began his meditation again.

Ichigo was not sure when it happened, but it had to be at least six hours since he began again. When suddenly, he felt an intense pulling sensation and then as if he was falling. Before he could think about the falling sensation, he landed in a body of water. After he got his bearings, he noticed that he was in his inner world. If he was a more emotional person, he might have cried at seeing his inner world again.

He floated there for a second, just enjoying the sight of the sideways skyscrapers again. Seeing that he genuinely was in his inner world, he made his way over to the pole on which Zangetsu always stood. Getting to the pole, Ichigo did not feel his Zanpaktou's spirit. While disappointed, he should have figured it would not be that easy. So with that in mind, he began floating around his mindscape to see if he could feel his spirits. At one point, he felt a familiar feeling coming from a small pond in the small forest area.

After inspecting it for a moment, he felt the presence vanish. Deciding that he would figure that out later, Ichigo finished the broad search for his powers and began going to the areas of his inner world, which be much easier to check in-depth.

Starting in the small forested area, Ichigo began combing the woods, reaching out with his senses. After searching for a short amount of time from Ichigo's perspective, which in reality was two days. He moved on to the skyscrapers and began making his way through them. He decided to leave the section of his inner world that looked like karakura for last.

The curious thing that he noticed was every once in a while. His whole inner world would rumble like there was an earthquake. Ichigo decided to put it out of his mind, unaware that his mindscape was changing to accommodate some guests who would make their presence known when the time came.

One was an ancient spirit that had been with Ichigo from birth, but certain parts of Ichigo's soul had suppressed it in an attempt to keep him from entering the supernatural realm. Now with the meddlesome spirit temporarily indisposed, the ancient spirit has been working to free itself and become known.

The other was an old spirit that had once belonged to another. It would not reveal itself until it had decided whether they could trust Ichigo. Its power was a terrible weapon in the wrong hands.

Very soon, Ichigo would have many powers to master and find that he will be a very heavy hitter in the future. With power and authority to command the heavens themselves. However, he must find his missing strength before he could take his rightful place.

World of the Living, Urahara Shoten

It was now the next morning after the meeting were everyone learned that Ichigo had gone missing. Everyone sans Orihime, Uryu, and Chad were in the underground cavern waiting on Kisuke to give them an update on the situation. The cavern now had the Visored base in one of the corners to ensure it was in no ones way. It was a testament to how large the cavern was that they could fit an entire warehouse down here and still have ample space.

Tatsuki and the Kurosaki twins could be seen fidgeting, not having the life experience of the others that let them mask their inner thoughts. They were lucky that today was a Saturday. Otherwise, they would have had to go to class and been forced to wait all day to get an update. The promise that Kisuke had made them yesterday was also at the forefront of their minds.

When it looked like Kiuske was not going to speak up, Yoruichi decided to kick his butt into gear. "Kisuke, quit being mute and tell us what you have learned. Has the Kido managed to give you any clues?" The were-cat said with a serious expression. Only Kisuke could see the hidden worry.

"*SIGH* Not yet Yoruichi. The Kido spells need time to analyze the spiritual energy we managed to scrape together. If my calculations are correct, it will take about two or three weeks to find out the owner of the spiritual energy. So with that said, we must be prepared for when it is done, in case an evil deity took Ichigo." Here Kisuke stopped to get an idea of what everyone was thinking.

As expected, no one took the news well, but the three youngest members took it the worst. It also looked like the Visoreds were slightly more worked up than they usually appeared. Finally, Hiyori spoke up, "Geez Urahara, you still don't know anything! You must have messed up the Ki-." Whatever else Hiyori was going to say, she cut herself off when she finally noticed the eye bags that Kisuke had.

"What the hell is up with your eyes Urahara? You have eye bags like you did not sleep last night?" Questioned the snaggle-toothed midget.

Kisuke looked at her before covering his face with his fan and laughing. "That is because I did not sleep all night Hiyori. I stayed up thinking about any Kido combinations that would speed up the process of finding Ichigo."

"Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do but wait for the Kido spells to do their jobs. In the meantime, we have another matter to take care of now that our last guest is here." At this, Kisuke stopped and looked towards the ladder where a white-haired, glasses-wearing man in a well-fitting suit was standing.

"Ah, Ryuken! So glad you could join us on this lovely day. Now get over here and introduce yourself." At Kisuke's prompting, Ryuken slowly made his way over to the group. Everybody in the basement instantly knew this man was a Quincy. Maybe it has to do with the giant stick in their ass that they are all born with.

When Ryuken got over to the assembled group sitting a short distance from the ladder. He observed them for a moment before speaking, "I can say with certainty that I already despise most of you, none more than that bastard over there. I am here for one reason only, to train the daughter of Masaki on how to be a Quincy. So who will I be training in the Quincy arts?" While Ryuken was speaking, he pointed at Isshin, who was tempted to flip him the bird. Finally, he finished up by asking Urahara the question of who gets trained.

Kisuke smiled behind his fan before schooling his features and moving to stand behind Yuzu. Kisuke placed his hand on her shoulder before speaking. "Ryuken, you will be training young Yuzu here on how to be a Quincy. Also, the sooner we can get started, the better. You can focus on the Quincy's history and having a stick in the as-*AHEM* butt later. Right now, focus on combat training." Kisuke finished while barely managing to stop himself from cursing in front of Ichigo's sisters.

Ryuken's eye started twitching at this, but instead of engaging the shop owner any further. He decided to study his new apprentice, below average height, 4'6" if he had to guess, with short fawn-colored hair, two small ponytails in the back, brown eyes, and a slim physique. He reasoned that she was a cute girl, and Ryuken could see a lot of Masaki in the girl. Now he was hoping she would have Masaki's talent and inner strength. Finishing up his small inspection, he locked eyes with Yuzu before turning away and motioning her to follow him.

Yuzu smiled at her twin before following the rude man away from the group. After they were reasonably far, the man stopped and locked eyes with Yuzu. He then asked her, "How much do you know about the Qunicy, and how much training have you already received?"

Yuzu tilted her head to the side and answered quickly, "Ano, what is a Quincy? I only held a sword and bow for the first time yesterday." Ryuken tried not to let his irritation show. It was not the girl's fault, but that damn shopkeeper for not saying anything beforehand.

'I will have to start her training from scratch; this will be such a pain. At least I will not have to correct any poor training habits or bad behaviors." Ryuken thought while wishing he could throttle the shopkeeper before deciding that Yuzu not being trained was probably a good thing.

Deciding to get started, he addressed Yuzu, "My name is Ishida Ryuken, and I am a Quincy. I will be your teacher in the Quincy arts, and as such, you will call me sensei. You can add whatever name you want to that as long as it shows proper respect. If you do well in your training, I will offer incentives or rewards when you accomplish a challenging goal. Now then, any questions before we get started?"

"No sir Ryu-Sensei!" Yelled the young girl. Ryuken allowed a slight smile to appear on his face. This girl reminded him of Misaki at this age.

Instead of answering her, Ryuken found a rock to sit on as he began explaining what a Qunicy was and how they differed from Shinigami. He went into a brief overview of their history, excluding the purge, which was too heavy a topic for day one.

He gave a brief overview of the skills he would teach her and which skill would correspond to a reward. Ryuken told her that learning everything would take years. It is not something that can be rushed. Finally, Ryuken got to the part where he might lose her. He brought up how they start the process of awakening her powers. Typically, somebody would freak out about being shot near the heart with a spiritual energy arrow. However, Yuzu just looked at her sensei with complete confidence.

With the girl's permission given, Ryuken raised his arm, and Yuzu caught sight of the medallion hanging there before a bright blue bow made of Reishi appeared. Ryuken took aim, before letting loose an arrow that hit Yuzu in the chest, right near her heart. As Yuzu started to fall over, Ryuken caught her and set her on the ground before sitting beside her and pulling out a book. There was nothing else to do while he awaited his charge to wake up. (1)

It took about an hour for Yuzu to regain consciousness, startling Ryuken, who expected it to be at least 6 hours; that is why he brought a book! Nonetheless, he was pleased with the unexpected development. Once Yuzu had woken up, and Ryuken helped her to stand, he began instructing her in the next steps of her training.

"Now that you have been shot with a Reishi arrow that is composed in such a way to help you unlock your powers instead of destroying your soul. You should be able to feel the energy inside and flowing all around you. Your first task is to use the energy inside of you to accumulate the outside energy around your hand. For now, we will not worry about shaping it. Just focus on gathering it; if you complete this task by day's end, I will give you two rewards. You may begin," Ryuken instructed his pupil, who immediately began doing what was asked of her. As he watched her, he fingered something in his pocket that had been in his care for a great many years. Thus began Ryuken's time training the newest Quincy in his family. Speaking of, he supposed he should give Masaki's other children the things he had in his possession.

Otherside of the Shoten's Cavern

While Yuzu was over with the Quincy, the remaining group members were now looking at Kisuke, waiting for him to start again. "Now that Ryuken is here and Yuzu's training has commenced, there is no point in making these two ladies wait any longer. Yoruichi, do you mind helping me out for a moment?" Kisuke questioned his best friend. When she nodded and moved over to stand close to him, The shopkeeper turned his attention to the two young girls.

"Alright Karin, Tatsuki, the time to become soul reapers is now. Before we begin, are you positive that you want to do this? Once we awaken your powers, your lives will never be the same." This time, Kisuke questioned the two girls, but before he even finished speaking. He could see the resolve shining in their eyes. Kisuke figured that was as good an answer as any.

"Alright Karin, come stand in front of me, and Tatsuki, you stand in front of Yoruichi. Wait, where did Yoruichi go?" When Urahara found the were-cat missing, he couldn't help asking where she went. After but a moment, Yoruichi appeared again where she had been standing now holding a Zanpaktou in her hands, Her Zanpaktou to be more exact.

Yoruichi's Zanpaktou resembles a traditional wakizashi with a 14" blade with the Tsuka being orange in color, but instead of the traditional wrap, it had Katate-Maki (Battle Wrap). The Tsuba was in the shape of a cloud. The most significant difference about the blade was that when Yoruichi unsheathed her sword, the Kissaki was not the standard, more rounded tip. It instead had a more square-shaped tip known as a Kiriha Zukuri Kissaki.

Kisuke hid his initial surprise at seeing his friend's Zanpaktou after so long. Figuring he was wasting time, Kisuke unsheathed his sword from his cane, Yoruichi doing the same thing with hers. They both pointed their swords at the two teen girls' chests. Kisuke enjoyed their brief moment of shock before he spoke again.

"Now girls, the next step is on you; we are only the catalyst. What you must do is take our swords and run them through the center of your being. We will do the rest, but you must take the first step yourselves." Kisuke explained while patiently holding his sword with the tip pointed at Karin's heart.

What happened next surprised everyone present. Without hesitation, both girls grabbed the blade in front of them with their bare hands before driving the sword through their chests.

When this happened, all the people in the cavern were blinded by a bright flash that flashed around the two girls and the wind blowing dust into their eyes. When everyone could see again, they found both girls dressed in similar Shihakusho, with Tatsuki having a Wakizashi and Karin having a Nagamaki.

Both girls Shihakusho's were similar to a certain captain of squad two, meaning that the Shinigami robes were tied behind their necks, exposing the entirety of their shoulders, back, and sides. The uniform shows off a small amount of side boob on both girls, which embarrassed them if the blush on their faces meant anything. The girl's arms were uncovered, and that is where the similarities ended. Tatsuki's Hakama stopped just slightly past her knee leaving most of her shin exposed and with the traditional Zori sandals on her feet with no Tabi socks. Karin's Hakama on the other hand, was the standard length, and she also had the Zori sandals, but with the white tabi socks.

Tatsuki's Zantapktou was in a white sheath resting on her lower back horizontally, with the Tsuba looking like an open palm with the blade coming out of the palm. The Tsuka was in a Traditional wrap and was golden yellow. Karin's Zanpaktou had a black sheath and went diagonal across her back, going from left shoulder to right hip. The Tsuba looked like overlapping crescent moons that formed a circle. The Tsuka on Karin Zanpaktou was Crimson Red in a traditional wrap.

Both girls also had respectable levels of Reiryoku, with Tatsuki being similar to a seated officer in the higher teens. Karin's was similar to a seated officer in the lower teens. Kisuke felt a decent drain on his Reiryoku levels, but nothing a little rest wouldn't cure. The only outside sign that it affected him would be the mild sweat on his brow. When Kisuke looked over, he immediately grew concerned because Yoruichi was on her hands and knees, panting and dripping with sweat. So Kisuke walked over and placed his hand on her shoulder, asking her if she was alright.

"I am fine Kisuke; I just think my Zanpaktou spirit is more than a little mad at me. When I am not training the girls in Hoho and Hakuda, I will be in Jinzen trying to rebond with my Zanpaktou." Yoruichi answered Kisuke while standing up with his help before she looked at the unsheathed Wakizashi. 'I am sorry I have abandoned you for so long, but I will fix our bond after all these centuries.' Yoruichi thought while hoping her spirit heard what she said.

Kisuke did not say anything else, but by the look in his eyes, you could tell he was thinking about something. At his moment, he was thinking about how Yoruichi had not contacted her Zanpaktou since shortly before she became captain of Squad 2 and took up Suzumebachi as was tradition. (2)

Figuring that he needed to get things rolling again, he got the two girls' attention. "Alright girls, everything went smoothly, so it is time to start training! We have very little time to make you stronger, so Love please come over here and run these girls through the Zanjutsu drills." Kisuke said while hiding his face behind his fan so that the giant smile on his face was not seen. He was looking forward to seeing if these girl's growth rate was as monstrous as Ichigos.

Love did not say anything; he just stood up from where he was watching and walked over. Once he reached the two girls, he immediately instructed them to start swinging their swords 1,000 times vertically, up to down, then horizontally, left to right, and right to left. Love then ordered them to do 1,000 swings diagonally after they finished the first set. Starting with upper left to lower right, upper right to lower left, lower left to upper right and finally lower right to upper left.

Everyone in the cavern felt sympathy for the girls being under Love's instructions, but he was one of the best Zanjutsu users in the history of the Soul Society. So out of everyone present, he was the best to teach them the way of the sword.

While the two girls were going through a grueling set of sword exercises. The younger of the Two Quincy is about to achieve her first step in gaining power.

With Yuzu and Ryuken

Yuzu could be seen breathing heavily and sweating profusely from the strain of trying to manipulate the Reishi around her to gather in her hands. She had been practicing for several hours and had only managed to gather Reishi around her fingers.

When she asked Ryu-Sensei for any tips, he said that if she couldn't do at least this much on her own. He wouldn't continue to waste his time training her. He gave her a seven-day deadline to accomplish the goal. However, Yuzu was competitive, not to the same level as her twin, but enough to where she wanted the rewards.

So with that in mind, Yuzu doubled her efforts in coating her hands with the surrounding Reishi. After about another hour, Yuzu collapsed onto her back from exhaustion. As she lay there panting, covered in sweat and staring at the false sky.

Ryuken walked up beside her and stared down at his tired student. He decided to try and motivate her. "Really, this is the best you can do? I had such high hopes for you. I guess when Urahara tracks down your brother, he will just have to leave you here and take your sister. Poor little Yuzu, nothing but dead weight who can't help anyone. Maybe your brother wasn't kidnapped. Perhaps he ran away to get away from such a useless sis-" Ryuken taunted the young girl hoping to push her to succeed. However, before he could finish, he found a bright blue Reishi arrow pointed at his face.

When he looked at Yuzu, he saw her holding an impressively big, for her first time, Reishi bow with a look of utter rage on her face. This look did not suit her at all and frankly was quite terrifying to the white-haired man.

"Don't you ever repeat those words! I will show you that I'm not dead weight!" Yuzu yelled at the Quincy.

Ryuken raised his hands in a placating gesture while calmly responding to Yuzu. "I did not mean any of the things I said Yuzu; I simply was taunting you to try and push you. Regardless I apologize for my hurtful words. The results can not be denied though. "

This seemed to appease the young girl, before the last thing he said caught up with her. When she looked at the blue bow in her hand, the bow shattered, but Yuzu had a giant smile on her face from having managed to go beyond what her sensei asked of her. Yuzu focused on the Reishi in the air and drew it to her, forming another bow with relative ease, even if it was quite a bit smaller than the last one. Hearing someone clap, Yuzu looked to find Ryu-Sensei clapping with a slight smile on his face.

"Congratulations Yuzu, you have gone far above my expectations. As such, I owe you two rewards. The first is this," Ryuken told Yuzu while pulling out a small, plain Quincy cross. He then handed it to the girl, who looked at him in confusion.

"That is a Quincy cross Yuzu, and it will help you form your bow much quicker and much stronger. It is tradition for all Quincy to craft their first Quincy crosses on their own. However, this time I think the rule can be broken. Yuzu, what you hold in your hands is your mother's first Quincy cross that she crafted when she was slightly younger than you are now." Ryuken said while watching the girl's confusion turn into shock and finally utter happiness.

Yuzu cradled the small silver cross to her chest and let out a few tears from being able to have something of her mother's. Giving her a minute to compose herself, Ryuken decided to give Yuzu her other reward.

"Yuzu, your mother was a Quincy and at one point my fiancé until she met your father. She was adopted into my family, so I am actually your uncle. I am sorry it took me so long to introduce myself to Masaki's children. Being your uncle and because I owe you a reward, I will answer any and all questions you have about your mother. Excluding questions about two events because they are not my stories to tell." Ryuken finished while sitting on a rock and patting the spot beside him.

Yuzu almost seemed to teleport to the rock and began excitedly asking questions about her mother. Several hours later, Karin would walk over in her human body to find a beaming Yuzu talking to the rude white-haired man.

Yuzu rushed over and grabbed her twin before dragging her to Ryuken and introducing him as their uncle, and she then started to tell Karin all about what she had learned.

Soul Society

The captains had made it back to their respective squads and decided to break the news to their lieutenants and seated officers about Ichigo. Squads 1-4 were easy because Ichigo was not very close with anyone in those squads. In Squad five, you could find Renji standing in a state of complete disbelief. After a moment, he came to a realization and excused himself before flash stepping away as fast as he could.

Squad 6-9 were alarmed but not overly concerned about the situation other than the captains. Squad ten's lieutenant took the news reasonably well despite her shock that something like this could happen to Ichigo.

Squad eleven's captain and lieutenant were nonchalant about the whole thing and figured Ichigo was fine. The Fifth seat was too busy admiring himself in a handheld mirror to pay attention. Ikkaku on the other hand had to be held back by several of his squadmates to keep him from storming off.

"Let me go you bastards. I am going to find Ichigo!" Ikkaku yelled while being held back by most of the squad. Despite that, he was still managing to walk forward. Kenpachi did not say anything. He just walked in front of his third seat and slugged him across the face, knocking him out.

Squad twelve was a dangerous place to be because of their captain's rage, so several members couldn't help cursing Ichigo for subjecting them to Mayuri's wrath.

Squad thirteen's lieutenant was on her knees in front of her captain with a blank look on her face and a dead look in her eyes. Rukia had initially been standing, but when her captain told her the news, she had fallen like a puppet whose strings were cut. Ukitake was about to come around the table to comfort his subordinate, but another person barreled into the room.

It took Renji about 2 seconds to spot Rukia kneeling on the floor with a lost look on her face. So without apologizing to the sickly captain whose office he barged into. Renji marched over to Rukia before kneeling and pulling her into a hug.

This would be the thing that broke Rukia because she started to sob into Renji's shihakusho. After about 15 minutes of continuous crying, Rukia finally spoke in a broken whisper.

"It is our fault…we should never have left him alone. If we had stayed by his side, maybe we could have saved him. I owe him so much Renji, and I abandoned him. The man I love needed me, and where was I. I was here in the Soul Society following orders like a good little soldier. How…could I…ever…face him…again." Rukia whispered in a dead tone, not noticing the pain that flashed across Renji's face at her admission of love. Rukia finally, in the end fell asleep but continued to cry in her sleep.

"It seems the shock of the situation caught up with her, and she exhausted herself. Renji, please take her back to the Kuchiki Manor so she can rest." The sickly captain asked while having a remorseful look on his face for his part in Rukia having to distance herself from her love.

Renji carefully picked up the petite Shinigami before bowing slightly and making his way to Rukia's home.

'I hope when Ichigo is found, our past sins do not come to threaten the peace he established,' Ukitake thought while pulling out some sake.

Back with another update everyone, this update took longer than I originally wanted, but a couple weeks is better than several months. If y'all would like to talk about the story, offer ideas or just chat. Join my DISCORD Server: /7HvKdtK6

Reviews:

Lawrence H. Bain: Two reasons, First because of how they treat him and second because I am setting up an arc revolving around this whole story point.

Ulttoanova: Great suggestions and I will look into maybe incorporating some into the story.

M1stymix: Noted and hopefully I improved on not doing such an info dump.

To the several very positive reviews, I am happy that you guys are enjoying the story! I hopefully will have chapter 4 posted in 2 weeks.

There is no available information on how a Quincy initially awakens their powers, so I am using the method by which Uryu regained his.

There is speculation that Suzumebachi is not the Natural Zanpakuto of Soi-Fon and that Yoruichi had it first. In some of the anime flashbacks, it shows Yoruichi with both Suzumebachi and a different Zanpakuto.
