Winter has currently surpassed Velvet in votes both here and elsewhere. So yeah, I guess nice girls really do finish last :P The Dommy Mommy crowd has won again. Poor Weiss. That's assuming there's not another upset, at least.

Blake Belladonna was being hunted down like an animal.

No, it wasn't by the White Fang and Adam; they'd been in prison ever since they stopped her ex's mad plans to destory Vale. And no, it wasn't by anyone who realized her true past and wanted her put in prison. It wasn't even by the rest of her team because she'd accidentally cut Yang's hair, eaten one of Ruby's secret stash of strawberry snickerdoodles, or used Weiss' facetome account to post a pro-Faunus message when she carelessly left her account open on their computer (which she still admits to this day was the right thing to do).

It was so much worse than that.

It all started a few days ago. A couple of weeks had passed since they'd stopped Adam and things were going great for one Blake Belladonna. She'd helped save her new home - her new family - and finally confronted her past head on instead of running away from it. Granted, it wasn't perfect. She still hadn't made up with her biological family and Weiss was still nursing a grudge over the facetome incident, but she'd felt lighter than she had in days.

Another bit of bright news was that Denji was gone for the week; something about helping Ruby and Yang's uncle with a mission in Anima. Alright, that made her sound ungrateful. She didn't hate Denji - she actually rather liked the guy considering how much help he'd given her - but the eight dogs were an absolute dealbreaker. The worst part was that he didn't even realize how much of a monster he was by having the horde with him. So sad.

It wasn't his fault, she told herself, sometimes people were just stupid and didn't realize the abominations they let into their homes. Ruby and Yang were bad enough, but at least they only had the one of the little monstrosities. Dogs were, in her humble opinion, only second to the Grimm in how horrible they were; and in some ways they were worse. At least the Grimm were universally reviled, unlike dogs that had somehow snuck their way into their homes and cities.

So you could imagine how she felt one day when she rounded the corner and came face-to-face with eight dogs of varying breeds. She'd frozen up in sheer terror at the horrific sight and she almost missed the dark haired, yellowed eyed eight year old girl riding atop the biggest one like Weiss with her favorite horse, Buttercup.

Instinct told her to run and she almost did till the little girl - who she'd then vaguely recognized as Denji's little sister - met her eyes. Yellow met yellow and Blake found herself frozen on the spot, unable to walk away as the horde of hellbeasts drew closer to her.

The horde stopped just a few feet from her and Blake managed only a single step back before the dog the little girl rode brushed up against her leg, "Pet," she said, rubbing the black and white dog's head.

She...wanted her to pet the dog?

...

Oh hell no. She'd rather get a kiss from an Ursa!

Finally regaining movement, Blake turned and ran as fast as she could out of sight.

It was the beginning of the end for her. Gone were her peaceful days of bonding with her team and reading tasteful literature in her favorite corner of the library. Her very reasonable refusal to touch those little monsters' heads had earned her the undying attention of that girl for the rest of the week and she found herself wishing that Denji would come back sooner so he could talk some sense into his sibling.

She knew that things were going to be bad the very next day. Blake had just finished a rousing sparring match with Weiss - the heiress pettily using the fight to try and pay her back for those facetome posts - only to run smack dab into the horde waiting for her right outside the locker room. She'd frozen in fear once more and the little girl looked up at her impassively.

"Pet."

Blake ran again. The school was vast and she'd had years of working with the White Fang to know how to escape everything from the police to even trained Huntsmen. Blake ninja vanished out the window and landed on the courtyard, heart beating loud against her chest. All she had to do was keep away from the the horde for a day or two and the child would lose interest. Surely she'd get bored eventually, right?

Wrong.

She was everywhere. Cafeteria? She was there with food for herself and her horde. Library? Waiting for her in her favorite corner with the dogs salivating. Down in Vale? She was already there at the docks before Blake even disembarked the Bullhead.

It was five days in when Blake decided to stay locked up in her room and demanded that the rest of her teammates not let the little girl in. None of them had taken her seriously, of course, but they still agreed all the same.

"Don't you think you're overreacting, Blake? Like I get that Denji's a freakish horror, but his little sis just wants you to pet her dogs," Yang had said.

"Yeah! I wish she would spend time with me like that!" Ruby had complained.

"Indeed. While I'd normally be all for reaping what you sow, this 'punishment' can hardly be even called a minor inconvenience. Why not simply pet the dogs and be done with it?"

She didn't answer because she knew none of them would understand. They'd all been fooled into thinking dogs were adorable creatures and not creatures from hell. What, did they all think it was a coincidence that the most common type of Grimm were the Beowolves? There was a reason for that! Heck, the fact that there were no cat Grimm was further proof that dogs were monsters in disguise.

Blake remained vigilant and watched the door like a hawk for the rest of the day. Her teammates came in and out sporadically, but she paid them no mind. So long as the the little girl and her horde of monsters stayed away, it would all be fine.

Nighttime came and eventually even Blake fell prey to the lull of exhaustion. She didn't know when exactly she fell asleep, but by the time she awoke the room was dark (not like it mattered with her inherent night vision) and the moon was high in the sky.

And the little girl plus her horde were next to her bed.

A moment of absolute silence passed as the dark haired, amber eyed girls just stared at one another. The rest of her teammates remained blisfully asleep, unaware of the horrors that had snuck its way into their sanctuary. The little girl looked down at her without blinking, eyes seeming to glow, and said just one word.

"Pet."

Blake's shriek awoke most of the campus and shattered dozens of windows. Thankfully she didn't have to suffer any consequences for it since she'd decided right then and there to leave Beacon, and all of Vale, behind. Farewell, team RWBY, she'd loved all the time she spent with them, but if she was going to retain whatever sanity she had left she had to leave. It wasn't them, it was her and her very well justified fears.

She found herself on the first ship heading over to Menagerie. Her teammates had tried to call and messaged her the entire way there, saying she was being stupid and that they needed to deal with her 'running away problem'. Blake sniffed. She did not have a running away problem. Yes, she ran from the White Fang, but they'd turned into terrorists and she found a second family at Beacon. And yes, she ran away from Weiss after their argument, but that led to her helping stop Torchwick and her former group from stealing all that Dust at the docks.

Clearly her tactical retreats were for the best and she assumed the third time would be even better.

Blake took a deep breath at the sight of her old home. It'd been years - five, to be exact - since she'd left. When she fought with her parents and joined the White Fang she knew she couldn't stay. She'd cut off all contact with them and yet now here she was coming back for sanctuary. If she had to get down on her hands and knees to be earn their forgiveness then so be it.

She tugged on the hem of her white coat, which was clearly the best option to wear when going to a tropical island, and walked to her parents' home. As the chiefs of Menagerie they could afford a larger abode than the average citizen, though she'd argue if anyone tried to call her a princess. She was nothing compared to someone like Weiss or even Coco Adel.

Blake steeled herself and pushed the antiquated doorbell. She really wished she wasn't alone right now - maybe she could've taken Sun with her since he was always so keen to hang around - but she knew that it was for the best. Leaving everything and everyone she ever knew for the second time was a price she was willing to pay.

The giant wooden door opened and she was greeted with the face of her mother, Kali Belladonna. The woman hadn't changed much apart from a few more wrinkles under her eyes, "H-Hey, mom..." Blake raised an awkward right hand and tried to smile.

Her mother's eyes widened and she pulled her into a tight embrace, "Oh, my baby girl..."

"Kali? Who's that at the-" Her father walked to the entrance and froze when she saw mom hugging her. For a moment Blake worried that he wouldn't be as accepting of his prodigal daughter, but then his face face split open in the widest, most relieved smile she'd ever seen him and he scooped them both up in a bear hug that left her feeling faint.

She was smiling and laughing through it all.

"Oh, I'm so glad you're back," mom said as they walked to the living room. Blake had prepared herself to get down on her hands and knees to beg for forgiveness when the older Faunus had slapped her upside the head and told her in no uncertain terms not to be silly.

"Yeah, I...I'm sorry I took so long." She rubbed her arms self-consciously.

"You're here now and that's what matters," dad laughed boisterously, "To think that little girl was right that you'd come back here."

A chill of dread ran down her spine. Wait, what did they mean by-

They made it to the living room and Blake choked to see there were already occupants inside. More specifically the same little girl that had been the subject of her night terrors for the past week and her horde of monsters. No, it was even worse. Zwei was with them now, and behind that dopey smile and lolling tongue she saw the smug satisfaction that lay underneath. She was trapped and they all knew it.

"Little Nayuta here came a couple of hours ago and said she was a friend of yours," mom beamed, utterly oblivious to the mounting look of horror on Blake's face, "She's so quiet and well-behaved, I can see why you two would get along," mom tittered.

"And she brought friends too." Dad laughed and pet one of the smaller monstrosities. Her parents, sadly, did not share her wariness of dogs, "Don't be rude and sit down. She came all the way here to meet you!"

Blake was forced to sit next to the little girl and immediately found herself surrounded by the horde with Zwei in particularly curling up on her lap. Mom and dad were so happy that she didn't have the heart to tell them she'd come back primarily to get away from what they'd welcomed into their home with open arms.

Eventually dad was called to a meeting and mom went with him, insisting that the two stay and make themselves at home. Blake choked back a sob as her two last chances for salvation left, abandoning her to damnation.

"Pet."

Blake broke down and did it. There was no escape. No matter what she did or where she went, the girl would follow until she had what she wanted. And so it was with a heavy heart that she raised her right hand and rubbed their heads. She made sure to do each and every single one of them and to do it for at least thirty seconds; anything less would earn the ire of her hunter.

It was only when Blake gave Zwei a tummy rub on top of the normal petting that the girl nodded. Blake couldn't hold back her next sob and she collapsed on the floor, utterly defeated. The younger girl pet her head and scratched between her ears.

"Good kitty."

She fell asleep eventually, the physical and mental exhaustion from today's events completely draining her. At least, she thought, she'd be safe in her dreams.

Wrong.

Blake found herself lying down in a white void...and she wasn't alone. Sat atop her chest was what could only be described as the scariest thing on Remnant. An orange dog shaped like a fat sausage with a chainsaw jutting out from between its too wide-eyes. Along its head was a black handle that she was tempted to grab if not for her worry that it would rev the blades.

And then it spoke.

"I WANT HUGS!" It said, voice deep and reverberating.

Blake was too broken to do otherwise and hugged the bladed sausage close. It hummed in approval.

Poor fucking Blake. Leaves Beacon and everyone else behind only for Nayuta to already know her plans. And yes, I'm aware Pochita has a high voice in the anime, but I figured Blake would dream of him as having a demonic growl given her fears.

How did she dream of Pochita at all? Who knows. This is a primarily humor fic. Maybe her fear of dogs allowed her to connect to him given how devils run on fear. I'm still considering plans of having Pochita physically appear due to Ozpin magic cause this little guy's insanely cute and I imagine Ruby and Weiss would fawn over him.

Next chapter is either going to be the Yang/Weiss/Coco meetup chapter or the backstory reveal. Just to clarify, Dennis is only going to talk about his past up to being merged with Pochita. The events of Chainsaw Man part 1 would probably still be a bit too raw to reveal for now.

Review Answers:

ahsoei - Psycho Ruby kinda indicates it really isn't more or less canon. Summer being so crazy she survived her fated death tracks with this fic's tone.

KHARAKI TAKAN - Working brain, and yet despite being so piss scared of Salem she deliberately murders the previous Spring Maiden to take the power for herself, thus putting a massive target on her back. Brilliant. Also, she's a murderous bandit who depopulates villages, so yeah she kinda makes the good guys look better by not being selfish murderers.

The DVD commentaries literally say that Roman is racist but that it's a sign of how casual Faunus racism is in the setting. So no, he wasn't putting on a show. Just cause racism isn't his one character trait doesn't mean he's suddenly enlightened.

OniTenshi500 - So what if Neo was also abused? Know who else was abused by their parents? Cinder and Mercury, and it doesn't stop them from being sadistic assholes in canon with Cinder abusing Emerald in turn. Neo has blatantly shown she only cares about Roman and is willing to help commit mass murder for her own selfish goals. Kobeni also being an abuse victim won't suddenly turn her nice any more than it would Cinder or Mercury.

I know people love to give Neo the benefit of the doubt cause she's the memetic best girl, but she's literally shown to be sadistic and murderous towards the heroes and apathetic to the innocents caught in the crossfire. Kobeni won't be the catalyst to suddenly change her ways. She might be nicer than Cinder to her, but that doesn't change the fact that she literally collars the woman when she just wants to be left alone.

And as said above, the creators said Roman was racist and his casual use of slurs is a sign of how Faunus are treated across Remnant. Just cause it's common within the setting doesn't mean he's not prejudiced.
