The battle was gonna begin. The Raiders would rendezvous with the 2nd Battalion
While the green berets would support the Mainline army troops. They would regroup shortly after
This push was gonna be deadly and the Taliban caught on to their plans.
Their target was a Taliban commander who was coordinating the convoys and ambushes to harness coalition equipment and arms.
Intelligence showed that he was one of the original mujahideen when the first Afghan civil war began And the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan.
He went by a code name, "Mutilator" which all the troops thought was cheesy as hell. But it was accurate.
The few prisoners he took would be violently mutilated, tortured, and hung their corpses publicly
He was aided by his massive cell of Taliban, while they were Islamic, mutilator's main goal was to profit and build up his arsenal to drive the us and the coalition out of his homeland
He was working with private Russian military contractors. Many of them former spetsnaz.
They would buy equipment and trade with the Taliban for their own purposes.
This mix of well trained Taliban and Russians with Special forces training would be a challenge. Especially with the risk of international issues coming from Russian contractors being killed by American and Coalition forces.
The Coalition's main goal was to stop the flow of Taliban equipment and take out one of their commanders and his men to demoralize the Taliban and their war effort.
At Chili's house*
Chili was having a dream where she was in the kitchen watching dishes, Bandit sitting at the table reading the paper, She looked out the window to see a black car with tinted windows.
She stopped what she was doing and went outside onto the porch.
2 men in a uniform and a priest stepped out of the car.
Chili already knew what happened. As they approached her she fell to her knees as they began explaining what happened to her son. He was killed in a suicide bombing of a us convoy...
Bandit coming to her as they held each other sobbing at the fact that they would never see their son again...

Chili wakes up and see's a framed picture of Thomas in his marine uniform and white Cover on. A picture every marine has taken.
Chili sat up and held the picture in her paws
"...Come back to me... please Thomas... why did you have to leave?... why?... Please don't die out there... I need you... if you die... I'll die..." Chili said beginning to shake, whimper and cry the tears falling on the Frame.
Chili had a deep fear she would lose her son at war. And if she did. She would be truly lost. Chili had known Thomas since he was 2 and a half years old when they brought him in after his mother passed away from cancer.
Thomas grew up seeing Chili as his true mom. And Chili has always seen him as her own son. He was her baby and always would be along With Bluey And Bingo
Same case with Bandit who shared blood with all 3. They have all been through so much together as a family.
Bandit woke up and sat up as well as chili felt him hug her
"He'll be ok babe... he's a heeler! Heelers are warriors and warfighters from the heart! Nothing will bring him and his marines down!" Said Bandit with pride and hope to cheer Chili up and help her out the best he could
Chili hugged Bandit tight and kissed him as they both looked at the picture
Though there wasn't much expression on tom's face he had a look and feel of pride, courage, honor and integrity, and discipline. Something Thomas and his sisters always had. The marines truly bringing those values out in him.
"I remember his graduation!" Said Chili shedding more tears remembering being so proud of watching her son wearing his uniform marching. And personally thanking Kaiser and his fellow di's for training and helping her son and the recruits become marines.
Kaiser was glad to. And was extra dedicated to training this class of marine recruits. Many of them being from Australia specifically moving to Mayberry where he met them and saw them as family. Especially the heeler family.
"They got some videos of his boot camp we still have on the computer!" said Bandit
They got up and went to the computer and looked at one of the videos
In the video Kaiser was standing in the middle of the barracks one recruit with the Recruit companies flag as the other di's organized the recruits into place.
All of them singing cadence each recruit standing in front of their bunks clapping to Kaiser's cadence and repeating after him
They could see Thomas in frame with them
"There he is!" Said Chili as Their favorite part of the video started
Kaiser; *sings with passion and sternness* Born in the woods!

Kaiser looks into the camera not smiling but you can tell he's proud of his recruits as the video ends

"I love watching that! The motivation they instill in those kids is amazing! I'm so glad Thomas chose the marines! Best branch by far!"'said Bandit with a tear falling down his eye
"Our little Tommy Tom! He's so Cute in his uniform! And super Handsome as well! A lot like you!" Said Chili kissing Bandit
Bandit blushes and giggles
There is a knock on the door
"I'll get it babe!" said Bandit kissing Chili
He went downstairs and answered it to see Bluey And max
(Bingo is still about 17 here so she is with chili and Bandit still)
Bluey was taking care of max while Chloe was working and jean was at work as well. Mackenzie was also in Afghanistan at this time but in a different province.
"Good morning mates!" Said Bandit happily
"Hey dad!" Said Bluey
"Come in!" Said Bandit as they all came in
"How is everyone?" Bluey asked
"We're fine mate! We were watching some videos of Thomas when he was in boot camp!" said Bandit
"That's awesome!" Said Bluey
Bingo came downstairs rubbing her eyes
"Thank goodness summer is here... I can actually sleep in.." said Bingo to herself
"A..aunt R...Ringo!!" Max called out still learning how to speak
"Oh my goodness is that little Maxie?" Bingo asked excitedly
"Rooo!" Said Max causing them all to giggle
"He's so much like Mackenzie it's unreal!" Said Bandit
"I know right! He's so cute!" Said Bingo
"Mackenzie's cute? Ewww" said Bandit teasingly
"What?! No! He's not bad looking but I don't like him that way! He's with Chloe!" Said Bingo
Everyone giggles
Chili comes downstairs
"Hey Bluey! Hey Maxie!" Said Chili happily than cooing at the baby puppy
"Good morning mum!" Said Bluey
Chili holds Max as he snuggles up to her fluff
"I bet you guys are hungry! Especially you little maxie!" said Chili happily
"Arf arf!" Said Max
Chili giggles and kisses her great nephew on the snoot
Bandit went outside to check mail and saw a letter
He then brought it inside
"What is it dad?" Bluey Asked
Bandit smiled
"It's from Thomas!" Said Bandit excitedly
"Awesome! Let's read it!" Said Bluey
"Aroo?" Max asked curiously
"It's from uncle Thomas sweetpea!" Said Bingo
They all sat down on the couch and read it
Bandit read it out loud to everyone
"Hey everyone! In Normal circumstances I would video call you all! But I've been too busy! But over the past week I've been writing ya'll this letter! Me and the boys have been staying safe and getting our work done out here! It's absolutely sweltering out here! But we're heading to the mountains which may be cooler! Afghanistan is quite diverse in terms of geography! Anyway, We all miss you guys here. The Past few years have been absolutely rough due to the big move to la. And a lot of our enlistments into the military! I saw the photos you emailed to me of bingo! She's been doing great! Crazy to think she's already graduated and is working to become a cop! Time really flies! Bluey and jean seem to be doing well too! Oh! Just so ya know mom and dad, You have no need to worry about me! I'll be home soon! My marine contract will be ending soon! I'll video call when I get the chance! I love you all! See you soon! Xoxoxo! -love Thomas"
They all smiled at the letter, chili shedding a small tear
In Afghanistan*
A crashed and flipped large ANA truck is burning. Screaming can be heard
Thomas is on the ground trying to break the glass
A burned hand banged on the glass as agonized screams come from inside
Soon the young afghan soldier most of his fur burnt off fully appeared
"I NEED HELP OVER HERE! HOLD ON!" Thomas exclaimed kicking the thick glass
"Heeler!" The Ana commander Ali exclaimed rushing to Thomas
"Ali! you gotta help! BREAK DAMN IT!" Thomas exclaimed grabbing a shovel to break the glass to no avail as the young soldier let out one last agonized cry before going limp into the fire
Thomas was almost completely frozen...
"The fire finished him... sometimes it's too late to save a man. Let's move out! Before we join him in death..." said Ali
The outskirts of the city were heavily defended by the Taliban
This was their big push. The army and marines had artillery shelling Taliban positions and supplies.
As the Ana and the other forces pushed more and more forward. The Taliban had massive amounts of men here, none of them afraid to die...
This was only the mere beginning of the battle...

But I wanted to focus primarily on the home front to further develop chili and the other heelers, this arc is gonna be very heavy in character development and growth.
