Chapter 10-Making plans
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl walked out of his house with his crossbow on his back as the sun started rising. He walked to Deanna's house and knocked on the door. He waited a few minutes and looked at Spencer as he opened the door. "What do you want? The sun is not even up," Spencer says.
"Get your Mom. Tell her I am here," Daryl tells him. Spencer looks at him, confused for a moment, before he goes inside. Daryl sat on the porch for ten minutes before the door opened, and she walked outside.
"When you said tomorrow, I thought you meant after breakfast," Deanna tells him.
"Nah, we'll start now, come on," Daryl says as he leaves the house with Deanna following him. They go to the armory, and Daryl walks inside. "You have your handgun?" Daryl asks Deanna, who nods as she shows him her handgun and knife. He nods as he grabs a rifle and hands it to her. "You ready?"
"Yeah, I'm ready," Deanna tells him. Daryl nods as they go to the gate and head into the woods.
Rosita's P.O.V
Rosita woke up and looked around the empty bed. She got out of bed and walked downstairs. She stopped at the entrance to the living room and stared at Abraham, who was sleeping on the couch. "Abraham," She says. "Abraham!" She said loudly, making him jump up and look at her. "What are you doing? Why didn't you come to bed?" Rosita asks him.
"I was tired, and I laid on the couch for a minute. Most have fallen asleep," Abraham lies as he stands up. "I'm sorry," He says as he walks past her into the kitchen. Rosita shakes her head as she walks upstairs and grabs her coat and boots. She puts them on and puts her gun belt on before she walks downstairs, slamming the door as she leaves the house. She walked through Alexandria until she saw Carol and T-dog talking on T-dog's porch.
"You guys know where Daryl is?" She asks them.
"Took Deanna out early this morning. Hey, spread the word. Glenn wants to have a meeting when they get back. He said we need to talk about a place where we can get enough weapons to fight the saviors," T-dog tells Rosita, who nods as she walks away.
Rick's P.O.V
Rick woke up in Jessie's bed and looked around. He saw that Jessie was gone and grabbed his clothes and put them on before he walked downstairs. He walked into the kitchen and looked at Jessie as she sat at the table drinking a cup of coffee. She looked up at him and smiled. "Good morning," She says.
"Good morning," Rick says with a smile as he pours himself a cup and sits down across from her. "I should probably get out of here before Ron or Sam show up."
"We're adults Rick. They can't get mad at us for this," She says.
"Ron can. He's still pretty pissed about Pete," Rick says after taking a drink.
"Give him some time. He'll see it as a good thing, promise," Jessie says as she stands up and puts her cup in the sink. "Glenn called a meeting. We're meeting him at Deanna's house when Deanna and Daryl get back."
Rick nods as he continues to drink his coffee.
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl followed behind Deanna as she walked behind a walker. She raised her knife and stabbed the walker in the back of the head. She pulled her knife out and looked at him. "We almost done? We've been out here for hours," Deanna says.
"Yeah, we're done," Daryl says as they start to walk back toward Alexandria. "You did good."
"Thanks. But I need to get better."
"You will with time," Daryl tells her. "Let's enjoy the small victories right now."
Deanna nods as they walk in silence until they reach the gates of Alexandria, where Eugene pulls the gate open and looks at them. "Glenn called a meeting."
Glenn's P.O.V
Everybody stood inside of Deanna's house, staring at Glenn. "Negan said that there are hundreds of saviors. All of them armed. The Kingdom will help with people, but we need weapons."
"Where do you expect to get that many guns? Every place with that many guns has been looted," Heath says.
"Every place around here. But I know a place where we can get a lot of firepower," Glenn says as he looks at Daryl and Rick. "The prison."
Daryl and Rick tense and stay silent. "The place we found you at?" Rosita asks.
"He's not wrong," Daryl says. "We left a lot of supplies there."
"How do you know it hasn't been scavenged?" Tobin asks.
"We don't," Glenn says. "But a lot of army outposts were set up in Georgia if the prison has been looted, which I doubt because of the state we left it in. We can also get weapons at those places."
"Who would lead this?" Deanna asks.
"I would," Glenn says.
"Nah, you won't," Daryl says, making Glenn look at him. "Shit can go real bad on the road, man. You know this. You got a kid coming."
"I fought the herd. I can do this," Glenn says.
"I'll lead it, you can come, but I'm taking the lead," Daryl tells him. "I know the place better than you, where camps are. I saw a lot of them while looking for the Governor."
"You pick your group then," Rick says. "Unless anybody wants to volunteer."
"I would like to come," Gabriel says, making Daryl look at him. "I know, I am not like the rest of you. But I can never earn your trust if you do not let me."
Daryl looks at Rick, who shrugs his shoulders. "Fine," Daryl says. "Rosita, Abraham, Sasha. You guys in?" Daryl asks the four, who nods.
"I know a place we may be able to get some weapons too. A military came in DC," Gavin says.
"We'll need people for that run too. Eight more people, Daryl."
Daryl looks at Glenn, who sighs. "I'll go to DC," He tells Daryl, who nods.
"Merle, T-dog, Noah, Negan, Laura, Paula, Michonne and Tara," Daryl says.
"I'm coming too," Deanna says.
"Mom," Spencer says.
"Daryl, let me help. Rick can hold down the fort here. I will be more useful out there," Deanna says.
Daryl nods. "Okay, Daryl, Abraham, Rosita, Sasha, Merle, T-dog, Negan, Noah, Laura, Paula, Tara, Michonne, Deanna, and Gabriel. Everybody okay with that?" Rick asks everybody, who nods. "The rest of us will plan a run to DC. You guys will leave the day after tomorrow. Make sure everything is ready," Rick says to everybody, who nods as they leave.
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl walks up to Glenn and Maggie as they talk on the street. "Can we talk for a minute?" Daryl asks Glenn, who nods as Maggie walks away. "I'm sorry if I sounded like a dick in there."
"No, you're right. I should be here in case something happens with Maggie and the baby. This run could take a week or two, maybe more. I should be here," Glenn tells him. "Daryl-"
"I'll make sure he's buried, Glenn," Daryl tells him. Glenn nods as he walks towards Maggie.
Deanna's P.O.V
Deanna sat at her table and looked at Spencer as he walked into the house. "What the hell are you thinking?" Spencer growls.
"Rick can hold down the fort here. We can't hide in here forever, Spencer."
"Mom, these people are going to get us killed, get you killed," Spencer says.
"No, they aren't. They are going to help turn Alexandria into what I want it to be, what your father wanted it to be."
"Dad is dead because of them! Aiden is dead because of them!" Spencer exclaims.
"That isn't true, and you know that," Deanna says as she stands up.
"Isn't it? Don't you find it a little weird that no matter what, their people always make it out? In that warehouse, Aiden and Nicholas didn't make it, but Noah, Glenn, Tara, and Eugene did. We never had a problem with Pete until Rick came here," Spencer argues.
"Aiden's death was an accident. Glenn and Noah tried to save him," Deanna says.
"And Nicholas? We both know he didn't try to help him," Spencer growls.
"No, he didn't. They got trapped in a revolving door. Glenn had a plan, and Nicholas wouldn't listen, and he tried pushing the door open, and he would have gotten Glenn and Noah killed, so Noah beat him to it, and he knocked Nicholas back into the herd," Deanna says.
"You're okay with that? With them killing our people?"
"I never said that, but I understand why he did it and Pete. He was always an ass. We just turned a blind eye to it. I'm going on this run, Spencer," Deanna says before she leaves the room.
Rosita's P.O.V
Rosita walks inside of her house and walks upstairs. She looks at Abraham, who is packing a bag. "You know the run isn't for two days, right?" Rosita asks him.
"I know," Abraham says as he continues to shove the clothes into the bag.
"Then what the hell are you doing?" Rosita asks him.
Abraham stops with a sigh and looks at her. "We are about to go on a run that could end very badly for those going, and if we make it back, we are going to war. I need some time to think," Abraham tells her before he goes back to packing.
"Think about what, Abraham?" Rosita asks as she walks closer, but he doesn't answer. "Think about what?!" She shouts at him while pushing on his shoulder. "Tell me why you are doing this!" Abraham drops his bag and grabs her shoulder.
"Because I don't know what I want!" Abraham shouts. "Because you're aren't the only woman left! Because shit like this happens!" He tells her as he grabs his bag and leaves Rosita standing there crying.
Daryl's P.O.V
Daryl was woken up by someone pounding on his door. He gets out of bed and walks out of his room as Merle walks out of his. "What the fuck is that?" Merle asks.
"I'll deal with it," Daryl says as he goes down the stairs. Merle shrugs as he goes back into his room. Daryl opens the door and looks at Rosita, who is standing there with tears on her face. "What happened?" Daryl asks her.
"Abraham left," She tells him as Daryl hugs her. Daryl held her as she cried into his chest, knowing he was going to have some words with Abraham tomorrow. He led Rosita into the house and sat her down in the church. He sat with her until she fell asleep. He laid her down and put a blanket over her. He was about to walk back to his room but instead walked over to the chair and went to sleep.
Thanks for reading. So I know Abraham left quicker in this story, but in my opinion, he had feelings for Sasha before they got back to Alexandria, and with the threat of the saviors and the run, I think he would just leave knowing that he doesn't want to be with her anymore. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
