Chapter 13-Tenison

Daryl's P.O.V

Daryl woke up the next morning and climbed out of his sleeping bag. He's looked at Merle, who sat at the campfire. The sun was just starting to rise in the sky. "I see all your time with these people hasn't changed when you wake up," Merle says as Daryl grabs a bag of their food and walks over to the fire. He puts a pot over the fire and starts to cook a can of beans. "But it did turn you into a housewife," Merle says.

"Shut up," Daryl says. "We need to eat before we go."

"A shitty can of beans is our breakfast," Merle says.

"Go ask your friend Simon for some eggs," Daryl growls as the group starts to wake up.

As the group eats, Abraham looks at Daryl, who is sitting in between Deanna and Rosita. "We going to be driving all day again?" Abraham asks him.

"Yeah, that's the plan. When we get to the prison, we'll set up, and over the next week or so, we'll loot the towns around the prison," Daryl says.

"We should be able to get there by midday," Merle says. "Let's get going then."

Glenn's P.O.V

Glenn walked into the armory and grabbed a rifle off the shelf. He grabs a couple of boxes of ammo and looks at Maggie as she walks in behind him and shuts the door. "You don't need to do this," Maggie says.

"We need these weapons, Mags," Glenn says as he looks at her. "We've dealt with plenty of walkers."

"You might run into the saviors," Maggie replies.

"We could get rid of a few of them. I know you don't like being kept in Alexandria, but it is how we keep you and the baby safe," Glenn says as he lays his hand on her cheek. "Okay."

"Okay."

Rick's P.O.V

Rick walked as Gavin's group left Alexandria. He walks towards Jessie's house and knocks on the door. Jessie opens the door and looks at him. "Where is Sam?" Rick asks her.

"His room, he barely leaves it anymore," Jessie says. "Ron, we've been able to show him how to survive, but getting Sam is a whole different ball game. He won't even leave his room."

"Should we talk to him?" Rick asks. "He can't stay there forever, not with what's coming."

"Come on," Jessie says as he leads him inside.

Gavin's P.O.V

Gavin stopped the truck a block away from the camp. Everybody climbs out of their cars and looks at Gavin. "You five get to that roof. Radio us when you are up there. That's when we will attack the ones on the street," Gavin tells Glenn, D.J., Alden, Carol, and Tobin, who nods as they leave. "Okay, when Glenn radios, we got in, and we go in fast. We don't break formation. We don't need anybody being mistaken for a walker. We need to do this hand-to-hand. We don't want to draw any more walkers."

They nod as they see a walker. Heath goes up to it and stabs it in the head.

Glenn's P.O.V

Glenn runs into the building with the other four behind him. They get to the roof and pull the guns off their backs. "Gavin, we're ready," Glenn says.

"We're moving," Gavin says.

"You got a dozen and a half walkers on the street," Glenn says. He doesn't hear anything as he shoots a walker through the head. The other four start to shoot at the walkers inside the camp. On the streets, Gavin's group starts to kill the walkers on the street. Gavin was in the front, with Heath and Aaron on the other side of him. The walkers in the camp continued to push on the gates. The creaking on the gates could be heard as the weight of the walkers pushed on it.

Glenn, Alden, Tobin, D.J., and Carol continue to shoot at the walkers. The fence falls down. "Get back!" Glenn shouts into the radio as Gavin's group backs up. The group starts to withdraw their guns and shoot at the walkers. The gunfire echoed around Dc, and in minutes the herd lay on the ground. "We gotta do this quickly, Gavin."

"Let's get to work."

Gavin's P.O.V

The group starts to tear the camp apart, loading whatever supplies they can find into a truck that was left there. Spencer, Heath, and Morgan drove the trucks up to the camp. "We don't have much time. We could hear the herd," Morgan says.

Gavin nods as they continue to grab whatever guns they can find. Five minutes later, Tobin shouts. "We gotta go!" Tobin shouts.

"Load up!" Gavin shouts. The group starts to load into the trucks, and Gavin climbs into the military truck with Carol and starts it. They turn onto a street away from the walkers as they head out of D.C. "We got at least two of three dozen guns. That will have to work."

"It will," Carol says.

Rick's P.O.V

Rick and Jessie walk up to Sam's door and knocks. "Sam, baby, can I come in?" Jessie asks.

"Yeah," They hear his soft reply. Jessie opens the door, and they walk in. "Sam, you know Rick, right?"

Sam nods as Rick bends down. "You mind if we turn the music off?" Rick asks Sam.

"That's okay," Sam says. Rick nods as Jessie turns the music off. "You know, when this all started, my son wasn't much older than you. You know my son, right? Carl?"

"Yeah, he's Ron's friend," Sam says.

"Yeah, so one day, we lost one of ours. A girl named Sophia walkers ran her off the highway, and I tried to save her, but we lost her. We went looking for her and Carl got shot and by some miracle he survived but Sophia, she didn't, we found her in a barn as a walker. She didn't have any weapons, she didn't know how to shoot or fight walkers, and she was dead before the next morning. Before Carl got shot, maybe if we had shown her how to survive, Sophia would still be alive. I know you are scared, Sam. I'd be worried if you weren't, but you have to learn how to survive. To protect yourself, Ron, your Mom."

"I can't, they'll tear me apart, and I'll feel it. She told me that. I would feel it as they killed me."

"Who told you that?" Jessie asks.

"Carol, during the party, I found her in the armory. She told me that if I told anybody, I wouldn't wake up in my bed. I would wake up far away tied up to a tree, and nobody would hear me scream as they ate me," Sam says with fear evident in his voice.

Jessie was about to speak when the door came open. "They're back," Ron tells them.

"Jessie," Rick says as Jessie storms past her son.

Jessie's P.O.V

Jessie throws her door open, and it hits the side of the house with a bang. The others look at her as she storms up to Carol and pushes the woman into the car. She punches Carol in the face and slams her head into the metal of the truck. She throws another punch, and Carol catches the punch and headbutts her. Jessie takes a step back and withdraws her knife. She swings it at Carol and cuts her shirt. "Enough!" Glenn shouts as he grabs Jessie and pulls her back. Gavin and Health help him as Tobin, Carl, Spencer, and Morgan grab Carol as Rick comes outside.

"I'll fucking kill you! I'll kill you for what you said to him!" Jessie shouts.

"Get her out of here," Rick tells them. "Glenn, you come with me, you too," Rick says to Carol as he grabs her arm and leads her away. Glenn follows.

Carol's P.O.V

Rick pushes Carol into his house and shuts the door, and looks at her. "Is it true? What you said to Sam?" Rick asks her.

"Yeah," Carol says. "He found me in the armory the night of the party."

"Why were you in the armory?" Glenn asks.

"I threatened him, told him that if he told anybody, I would take him far away from him and tie him up for the walkers," Carol says. Glenn looks at Carol in shock. "Rick, what are you doing? These people are weak. Why are you taking their side? Tobin, Deanna, Jessie, they are weak, and they are going to get you killed. We have a chance now, Rick. We can take this place, as we planned too. Daryl will understand when he gets back."

Glenn looks at Rick. "What is she talking about, Rick?" Glenn asks him.

"When we first came here, I saw these people as Carol does now, weak. Daryl, Carol, and I were prepared to take this place from them. Daryl, Abraham, Maggie, you. You guys saw this place as I see it now. The future, I was wrong, Glenn. I was wrong. This place is our home. Those people out there, they're family."

Glenn nods. "Glad to see you came to your senses, dumbass."

Rick nods as he looks at Carol. "Anything you wanna say?"

"After the prison, It wasn't just Tyreese, Judith, and me. Tyreese got out with Mika and Lizzie. One day while we were staying at a cabin, Tyreese and I were getting water. We left Judith with the girls, and when we came back. Lizzie had killed Mika. She wanted her to turn, to show me that walkers were still people. I didn't let that happen. I took Lizzie outside, and I killed her, Rick. People like Sam and those people out there. People who are weak, people who don't understand this world, they will get us killed. Sam will get you and his mother and brother killed. These people will get all of us killed."

"They won't," Glenn says. "We fought together today, all of us. We trusted each other with our lives, Carol. These people are going to make it because they are survivors."

"What happens now?" Carol asks.

"Let me talk with the others. We'll decide from there," Rick says. "Stay here."

Carol nods as Rick and Glenn leave.

Rick's P.O.V

Rick and Glenn walk outside and walk through the street. "You go talk with the others. I'll go talk with Jessie."

Glenn nods as Rick walks away. Rick walks up to Jessie's house and pushes the door open. He walked into the kitchen and looked at her. "Where is she?"

"You handled that the wrong way. You should have let me talk to her," Rick says.

"I WANT HER GONE, RICK!" Jessie shouts at him.

"We'll figure something out, Jessie. I can't just kick her out. I owe Carol my life," Rick says. "We'll have a vote when Daryl and the others get back. Until then, you'll stay away from her, and I'll keep her away from you."

"No, she needs to leave."

"That isn't just your decision to make," Rick says. "Take a minute, cool down. Make sure Sam is okay," Rick says before he leaves. He walks outside and looks at Glenn as he walks up to him. "Well?"

"They want to wait until the others get back. Get the full story, and then we'll decide from there," Glenn says.

"I agree. Let's go talk to Carol," Rick says as he and Glenn walk towards his house. They walk inside and see the back door open and Rick's cabinets open, and some of his food and water gone as well as the guns he had hidden away and his bag. They quickly run outside. "Carol! Carol!"

Carol's P.O.V

Carol walked away from Alexandria and into the woods. "Carol!" She hears, but she continues to walk.

Thanks for reading. So Carol is gone, and I have a lot more planned for her. The next chapter will start with the aftermath from this, and the rest of it will probably be focused on the group in Georgia. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
