"You never reach any truth without making fourteen mistakes and very likely a hundred and fourteen."

Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Rocks were thrown in every imaginable direction, destroying Paris in the process.

The Akuma was called Rock Solid, a literally rock-hard monster.

Chat Noir was having a difficult time dodging the rocks, too busy to get close to the Akuma.

Stoneheart had nothing on Rock Solid.

Chat Noir clenched his teeth, hissing in pain at the rocks scraping his body.

"Ladybug, where are you?"

"This is bad, Tikki."

Vanessa stared at her phone, reading and watching videos of the akuma attack.

"For a guy who tripped over a pebble, he's sure hardcore."

Tikki peered out from under her beanie, looking sadly down at the video. "This is what Chat Noir was saying. Hawkmoth is targeting anyone in the slightest exposure of weakness."

"The poor pussycat looks like he's ready to drop. And people are already asking where is Ladybug." Vanessa glanced to the door of the isolation room. "If only people knew the truth."

"We need Ladybug." Tikki popped out from Vanessa's beanie, making the girl jump, grab the kwami and hide around the corner.

"But Marinette is bedridden!" Vanessa hissed.

"I doubt akumas take a rain check if a superhero is ill."

"But she needs rest. She's sick. Besides, who's gonna fill in for her?"

The little red bug pulled a deadpan face at Vanessa.

Vanessa's violet eyes enlarged. "Oh no. You're not serious!"

Tikki didn't change her expression.

"You are serious!" Vanessa (cool laidback Vanessa) started to stutter, choking on her words. "B-B-But I-I-I-I have classes!"

"Marinette skipped her classes all the time to be Ladybug."

"I cover for her when she's gone, who's gonna cover for me? How do I do this?"

"There's no time to argue. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Look at your father, didn't you say there's a similarity between him and Ladybug?"

Vanessa stopped her overreacting and thought about her father. "My dad cancels on me for last minute meetings. He didn't mean to, but it just happened. I understand now."

Tikki smiled. "Now we need her Miraculous."

"Which are…"

"Her earrings."

"The black studs she never takes off?"

"Yes."

"The ones she's wearing right now?"

"Yes."

"The ones she has on whilst sick?"

"Yes."

Girl and kwami turned their heads to the door of the isolation room.

"Can't you fade through the door and take them out yourself? That's how you received Marinette's history of fashion essay when she forgot."

"I cannot take the Miraculous off the current holder. If that was possible, Nooroo would've left Hawkmoth ages ago."

With a sigh, Vanessa walked up to the door and looked both ways before creeping in. A woman on a mission, she tip-toed towards the bed, crotched down to Marinette's snoozing face, carefully plucked her earrings out and silently hurried out of the room to the safety of her shared bedroom.

To her luck, the matron hadn't catch her in the act.

"Marinette will kill me when she finds out I did this." Vanessa said as she put on the earrings.

"Let her try." Tikki answered. "We have to explain to her that this is the only way."

"She won't like it."

"She'll understand. She wouldn't be happy about it but she'll understand."

"Is there a Butterfly Miraculous?"

"Yes, but unfortunately Hawkmoth has it."

"Aw! I know Hawk Moth is evil, but I love butterflies! They're my thing. There! Got them on!" Vanessa looked at her reflection in the mirror, flipping her hair to show off her earrings-wearings ears. "Too plain for my taste."

"Now, just say 'Tikki, spots on!'"

"Tikki, spots on!"

A red glow engulfed Vanessa. The dark-skinned girl found herself wearing the same mask and red suit with black spots as her best friend. The difference, besides the colour of her skin, eyes and hair, her braids were arranged in twin French braids with red ribbons.

She marvelled her transformation. "Whoa…"

An Akuma alert on her phone beeped, promoting her to escape up the bathroom window and head for the battle.

She was amazed of how fast and agile she was, leaping across roofs.

As if she changed into an entirely different person, undergoing a transformation, possessing remarkable reflexes, speed and strength.

She soared through the air until she landed one roof which had a blonde in black catlike leather.

"Milady, I need to talk to-" Chat Noir approached her, but then he jumped back, hissing. "Who the hell are you?"

Vanessa held her hands up in surrender. "I come in peace! I'm filling in for Ladybug for the next two days. Just call me...Ladybird."

"Where's Ladybug? What did you do to her?"

"Relax, pussycat. Ladybug is fine. Actually, she's not fine, she's really ill."

"Ill? What's wrong with her?"

"Other than her bullheadedness? Sleep deprivation and stress."

"GIMME YOUR MIRACULOUS!"

Ladybird looked over the ledge of the roof and gulped at the massive Akuma just below her.

"I'll wear down Rock Solid." Chat Noir came up behind her. "Since you're new, all you have to do is to purify the Akuma."

"How do I do that?"

SMASH!

"Just watch me!"

Ladybird could do nothing but stood in the sidelines awkwardly, watching Chat Noir battle the Akuma on his own. She wanted to help him so badly, be his temporary partner, fulfil her best friend's role but fear froze her to the ground.

"I got him, Ladybird! Use Lucky Charm!"

"How?"

"Throw your yo-yo up and say Lucky Charm!"

"Lucky Charm!"

The temporary Ladybug threw her yo-yo up, pink and red sparkles flying around and then dropped in her open hands, a red stick eight black polka dots dropped down.

Ladybird was even more confused than she was before. "A broom? What am I gonna do, sweep him up his feet?"

"Gimme that!"

Chat Noir snatched the broom and threw it at Rock Solid's big feet, causing the Akuma to trip and fall to his front, face first.

"There's our chance! Purify him!"

"How do I do that?"

"Your yo-yo!"

Ladybird held up her yo-yo. "How do you use this thing?"

Beep!

"Oh, bugger! I have to go! Sorry! I'll be back!"

Ladybird jumped away, forcing herself to hide in an alley. After she detransformed, she angrily glared at the little kwami.

"Some information beforehand would've been very useful, Tikki!"

"There wasn't any time. You're doing well. You just need think quicker. Like dancing to a beat you never heard before."

"Ok, that's good. Thanks. Now, Spots-"

"No! I need to recharge before you could transform back! Go to the nearest shop and buy a packet of cookies for me."

Vanessa did as instructed, running int the first shop she could find. But when she got a pack of cookies to the counter to pay, it came with a problem.

"I'm sorry miss, but we do not take pounds."

"Cripes! I'll be right back!"

Vanessa searched for an ATM, but Chat Noir and Rock Solid got in the way with their battle.

"Oh, Lord! Now I know why Mari is so wiped out all the time!"

Eventually the battle was done. After two failed attempts, Ladybird finally purified Rock Solid.

And it only took a day to defeat him.

"Pound it!"

At least Ladybird knew what to do at the end of the battle.

"Wait!" She cried, stopping Chat Noir from leaving. "Can we talk?"

Chat Noir stared at her, eyes narrowed. "Go away to detransform first, then we'll meet up at the roof where we first met."

She nodded and left the scene.

A few minutes afterwards, the superheroes met up on the roof. Ladybird shyly looked down at her shuffling feet, rubbing her right arm absentmindedly.

"Sorry you got stumped with me." She said in a small voice. "I feel so guilty letting you do all the hard work."

Chat Noir smiled with understanding comfort at her. "It's a good thing you're here anyway, just to purify the akuma. I can't do it."

Ladybird slowly lifted her gaze up, almost knocking Chat Noir down with her striking violet eyes. "I knew Ladybug had a dangerous job but she's so good at it."

"Is she really sick?"

"Yeah. Nothing but a good rest will fix it. Though she'll get sick again, given how hard defending this city from akumas lately. They're popping up like daisies! She'll kill me when she finds out I took her place."

"She's stubborn, I know. I work with her."

And I live with her. Ladybird thought.

"You gotta understand, Ladybug is in no condition to fight. I wouldn't take her Miraculous unless I have no choice."

"I told her we're under too much stress with the akumas! We're spread out too thin!"

"That's what I said to her as well!"

"I know, right?"

The two laughed together, Ladybird's awkwardness fading away to her confidence as Vanessa.

"She's under so much stress, it got her sick. She needs to prick her finger to sleep for a hundred years just to get some good sleep."

"I'll put her in a glass coffin if that helps!"

Ladybird and Chat Noir were on their way to becoming good friends. Then the red-clad heroine spoke of something more serious.

"You and her need to talk things out."

Her hero companion groaned. "I know but she won't listen!"

"Tape her to the Eiffel Tower if you have to, the pair of you need to talk."

"I'll do that."

Ladybird put her hand on his shoulder, giving him a kind, soft smile. "Don't worry about waiting long. Ladybird will be bouncing back soon."

"But you're Ladybird." Chat Noir pointed out.

Ladybird jumped back, stuttering. "Bug! I mean Ladybug!"

Chat Noir started at her., squinting his eyes. "Your accent is very distinctive. Are you Scottish or Irish?"

"Uh..."

Lucky for her, Chat Noir held his hands out, looking away from her. "Don't answer that! We need to keep our identities hidden. Number 1 rule. Ladybug will kill me if I knew." He brought his head back up. "You're right. I really need to talk to her, but it can wait until Ladybug regains her strength. But when I do tell her, she'll kill me."

"What do you do, commit murder?"

"No! I just had to do something without her approval." He looked around. "It's late. We better go." He looked back at Ladybird. "You remind me of someone."

"So do you." Ladybird said back.

Then the two superheroes went their separate ways.

Unknown to the heroes, their former guardian responsible for their Miraculous was wondering around the park. The elderly man winced with every step he took. In the mist mixed with the darkness closing on the park, he vaguely saw a figure.

A woman. An old woman.

The only woman he ever loved.

"Marianne…"

"Wang!"

She rushed towards him, grasping his hands. She looked him over, taking in his bruises and does he have more wrinkles than before?

"You're hurt! We need to go to the hospital."

She tugged but he pulled her back.

"No!"

His outburst surprised her.

"Marianne, I can't. It's too late. I'm no longer the guardian. My old age is catching up to me. I don't wish to die alone in a hospital bed." He looked up, the moon beginning to shine in the late sky. "At least tonight, I will have peace."

Small hands grasped his arms and led to a bench.

He looked to Marianne, his wrinkles getting heavier and longer. "You should go."

The old woman smirked. "Never. Not when I finally have you in my arms again."

Master Fu didn't argue, no longer having the strength to do so. The couple just sat closely together, giving in to the cold temperature of the night.

"VANESSA JANE DIANA CAMBERWELL!"

Vanessa had just snuck in back in Olympe by the bathroom window and only stepped out of her bedroom when she heard the yell of her full name.

"God, I hate it when my full name is being used. It only means one thing: an adult is scolding me."

Vanessa braced herself for the matron.

"Yes, Ms Duchemin?"

"Where were you?" Valérie demanded. "You were absent from your lessons all yesterday! You're almost as tardy as Marinette!"

The girls from their neighbouring rooms jumped in with comments. "No one is as tardy as Marinette."

"I miss her tardiness…"

"She's sick, not dead!"

"I-I got stuck in my bathroom! The door lock was faculty!" Vanessa covered up.

Valérie glared at Vanessa hard. "Detention, starting tomorrow for the next three days and I'll have a handyman look at your bathroom door. Not Guy!"

Vanessa pouted. Thankfully, her lie worked but not without its consequences. "My dad is gonna have a cow."

"What did you do now, V?"

Everyone got startled of the sight and sound of Marinette standing on her two feet, bags under her eyes.

"Marinette!" Valérie cried, running over and gently grasping the girl's biceps. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be in bed!"

"I just wanted to get my cat-pillow."

The matron sighed. "Alright. But I want you back in the isolation room by 9."

"Yes, madame."

"Hey Mari! There's a new Ladybug!" Jimena squealed, shaking her handing that held her phone.

Marinette froze. "...what?"

Vanessa squeaked.

"Look!"

Jimena showed the image of Ladybird to Marinette. The blue-haired girl stared at the shot of Paris' mysterious new heroine.

"Alright, girls, don't overexcite Marinette. Back to your rooms."

Valérie ushered the girls away, either to their rooms or out the hall.

Marinette walked to her bedroom she shared with Vanessa, the latter following her. Once the door was shut, Marinette turned at Vanessa, not saying a word.

It scared Vanessa.

"Uh, Mari…"

Marinette raised a hand up and touched her earlobes, feeling the absence of her magical earrings. then she saw them on Vanessa's earlobes.

1…2….3…

"VANESSA!"

"Oh bollocks."

"I can't believe you did that!"

"You were sick and tired. You still are."

"Gimme my miraculous back!"

Marionette lunged at Vanessa, the latter catching her. But by having no strength, she just sagged in Vanessa's arms.

"Marinette, you are still in no condition to use the Miraculous." Tikki scolded, flying out from Vanessa's lavender hood. "You can barely walk, let along battle!"

"It's still my responsibility, not Vanessa's!" Marinette cried. She looked up at her friend with glassy eyes. 'I never wanted you to get involved! Knowing my secret is too much!'

She got Alya involved and look how well that turned out.

"Why, too bad!" Vanessa retorted. "You're not going back to nearly killing yourself on a daily basis until you can stand on your two legs, fully rested." She pulled her tired friend up and made her sit down on her bed. "You're my best friend. The best friend I ever had in my whole life. I would do anything for you. You would do the same thing for me if the tables were turned."

Marinette stared up at her, taken aback by the cool girl's proclamation. "Fine. I'll take a break. But as soon as my two days are over, you're fired!"

Vanessa giggled. "Yes, my lady Sugar. Chat Noir said he wants to talk to you about something he did."

"Why, what did he do?"

"I dunno. You two really need to talk. Not argue, not fight. Talk."

BEEP!

Another Akuma alert rang from Vanessa's phone.

"Gotta go!"

Vanessa quickly kissed Marinette on the forehead and snatched Tikki, ran to the bathroom where she cried out 'SPOTS ON' and disappeared in a rush of wind.

Marinette sighed, grabbed her cat pillow and walk back to the isolation room for more sleep.

Adrien detransformed near his school after the battle. He fell into a crotch when he was does, feeling a piercing pain in his right leg.

"Dude!"

Nino and Alya came running to him, appearing like real heroes out of the darkness to help a helpless victim.

"You're limping!" Nino cried.

"It's just a strain from the attack." Adrien dismissed. "What did I miss?"

"Nothing much. Lila tries to lie that she's Ladybird but Alya exposed her."

Alya grinned with pride. "Damn right, I did!"

"Did you hear about the new Ladybug?"

The school was buzzing with the sudden news of a new Ladybug calling herself 'Ladybird.'

"Oh yes, that was a tiring battle! I was lucky to get away!" Lila fibbed.

"You're Ladybird?"

"Oh, yes!"

Lila avoided lying she's Ladybird's best friend, given the bad experience she got from the last time.

"Why are you here and not fighting the akuma?!"

"I have the power of bilocation!"

Alya, coming out of the classroom, heard Lila sprouting lies again and snarled.

"Oh no, she didn't!"

She swept out her phone, ready to pull a live recording of Lila's current lies on her blog but Trixx crept up her neck and talked in her ear.

"Alya, don't humiliate her. It's not responsible. A hero must always do the right thing, even if you don't like the victim."

"But she's-"

"She's in trouble for her nonstop lies, right? Do the responsible thing. Be sly as a fox. Report it."

Alya grinned like a fox. "Nice thinking. Ms. Mendeleiev, Lila said she skipped!"

"No, I didn't!" Lila cried.

Her 'fans' questioned her. "Then why you said you're Ladybird?"

"Lying again, miss Rossi?" Ms Mendeleiev narrowed her eyes on Lila, the girl dwarfing in fear. "For everyone's information, Lila hasn't left my sight all day. I supervised her cleaning."

"And you didn't help." Lila pouted.

"This is your punishment, not mine. Double detention for attempting to lie and weasel out of your punishment. Again."

"I'm not! And how can I get double detention now when every second of my school life is already controlled?"

"You now have to spend an extra hour in detention and your parents will be notified. Again."

"Damn!"

Alya snickered.

"Alya!" Lila ran up to Alya. "What did you guys talk about in the art room? You know, the one I had to miss?"

"We had a meeting about the hardships we're all been having ever since you ran out Marinette." Alya half-lied. "We talked it out and looked to improve our struggles."

"Then how come you didn't invite me?"

"You're not wanted. You're the reason why we've been having trouble."

Lila rolled her eyes yet persisted in asking questions. "I noticed Luka, Kagami and Marc went as well. They're not in our class."

"They felt the same pain you caused them by running out Mari. Everyone is feeling the pain."

Lila's wicked smirk came crawling back on her ugly face. "I only took out the trash you kept hanging on. You would ditch her eventually for something better. And you did."

Alya growled at her. Lila only held her smirk up, but then her smirk changed into a wince.

"OW!"

Lila let out a scream, clutching her hand.

"Alya, how dare you bit me!"

Alya glanced to her hand.

"Lila, everyone says my mouth is bigger than Texas. Your bite mark looks like it came from a mosquito."

"Miss Rossi, stop acting petty and get to the toilets! They need scrubbing!"

Alya chuckled at the memory.

Trixx popped out of her hiding place in Alya's front pocket, spitting and coughing. "She tasted like overcooked chicken covered in rotten peach!"

"I thought you said I have to be responsible." Alya said teasingly.

"Yeah, but even a god will can sick of listening to her."

"Forget liar pants, let's talk about your new partner!" Alya rounded on Adrien. "That new Ladybug is a waste of your space! She didn't do anything! She's useless!"

Adrien didn't like the way she was talking about Ladybird, especially after he just talked with the temporary superhero. "Ladybird is not useless! She's only here to purify the akumas since Ladybug is too sick to do it. She's really nice. Ladybug getting sick because of the akumas shows how dire the situation is."

"We spent the rest of the day trying to keep our kwamis quiet!" Nino exclaimed.

Right after the kids got their kwamis, they went to their classrooms. Luka, Marc and Kagami for their separate classes, and Chloe had gone with Adrien and Manon.

"Where is Adrien?" Ms Bustier asked.

"He had to leave for a photoshoot. Here's a note from his father."

Max handed her the forged note. Ever since she was too humiliated by Lila, Ms Bustier had gotten stricter with her teaching style and demanded notes from parents and doctors right away. No excuses this time.

Ms Bustier inspected the note closely, worrying Max. She peered at the signature…

CRACK!

SPLASH!

The awful sound of a mug meeting the ground and its hot drink content splashing all over the floor distracted the teacher, and somehow the note was flown out of her hand and landed in the coffee, staining the paper.

"Oh dear! I'll contact Adrien's father later for confirmation."

Max wasn't sure to be relieved or more nervous. He hurried away and looked into his shirt pocket, hissing at his new godly friend.

"What did you do that for?"

Kaalki flicked her mane, bored and insulted. "This is the thanks I get for saving your tail?"

Once Max sat down, Ms Bustier begun her lesson.

"So, we will be learning about the Russian Revolution for the next week."

"Man, that was a great time!" Trixx cried as she shot up into the air, unable to contain her excitement.

Shocked at this, Alya jumped up to grab the tiny fox and landed on her seat.

All eyes were set on the girl.

"A great time of change in history but so tragic!" Alya covered up.

Ms Bustier nodded. "Yes, it is. The revolution begun in 1917 but there were tensions in Russian before then between the nobility and the lower, working class. The tsar, which is the king of Russia, was Nicholas II and he was the last one. Due to his position, he was the focus of the corruption of the government."

"I told Tatiana to warn her father to pay more attention to the people outside his social circle." Kaalki said, flying out of Max's shirt pocket and shocking Max. "But did he listen to his daughter? No!"

"That wasn't his fault!" Trixx flew out of Alya's pocket, scaring her holder. "He and his wife were too busy worrying over their son!"

Alya and Max leapt from their seats to grab their kwamis. Like earlier, everyone was looking at them.

"...the tsar's son had most of the attention, correct?"

"Imagine the sibling rivalry!"

Ms Bustier stared down her students as they sat down. "The monarchy of Russia, like any other monarchy, goes to the rule of the firstborn male heir. After four girls, Prince Alexei was seen as hope for the Romanov family to continue its rule, but he was born with haemophilia, a common illness in royal families due to close inbreeding."

"Gross!" Daizzi spat out, disgusted.

Now Ms Bustier was looking at Rose. The blonde started sputtering and coughing in disguist.

Max opened his hand and whispered. "You knew Grand Duchess Tatiana?"

Kaalki scoffed, flicking her mane. "All of my holders were famous. I made them great. Alexander the Great, Queen Elizabeth I, Ada Lovelace-"

"You knew Ada Lovelace, the mother of the computer?!"

"Max, stop whispering to your robot and pay attention. Now, Tsar Nicholas was forced to give up his throne, thus a new government was established by the group leading the revolution and they were called the Bolsheviks."

Kim's eyes widened when he spotted Xuppu swinging hanging on the board above the teacher's head.

"The leaders were-"

"WHOA!"

Kim suddenly leapt at Ms Bustier's head, snatching his little monkey friend.

"Kim! Get back to your seat immediately!"

"Sorry, madam! Just stretching my legs!"

"This is history class, not gym. So, sit!"

Kim went back to his seat and glared at his hands.

The monkey just grinned. "You have no idea how long I've been stuck in that box for."

"These leaders were three men. Their names were Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, and Leon Trotsky. They led Russia through its course of change-"

"They didn't wanted change!" Kaalki shot out again. "They wanted power!"

Max stood up, grabbed Kaalki and spoke up. "Statically speaking, 97% of every revolution that happened through history is considered an action of power by overtaking the previous ruler and placing themselves in their own position of power to abuse."

"Quite right, Max. But this revolution led to a whole new country we now know today. First the Soviet Union and then communist Russian. When Lenin died in 1924, Stalin took control and exiled Trotsky, leaving him as absolute leader of all of the Soviet Union. He was just as powerful as the tsar he overthrew."

"Great power comes with great responsibility." Wayzz said, muffled by Nino's hat which he brought up with him as he hovered. Nino gasped and grabbed his hat/kwami, bringing it back down on his head.

Thankfully it didn't get Ms Bustier's attention.

"Back to the tsar, he and his family were part of the House of Romanov. After 303 years of ruling Russia, the House of Romanov came to an end when Tsar Nicholas II, his wife Tsarina Alexandra and their five children were executed at gunpoint by the Bolsheviks on July 17th, 1918."

"That is not what happened!" Trixx yelled.

Unfortunately, that caught Ms Buster's attention

Alya took the fall. "How can we know it's the truth? They could've made it up, like Lila did!"

Lila, who was busy lathering her sore hands with hand lotion, cracked dry with soap and dirt, pouted with her eyes down. "Oh, get over it, Ceasire!"

"As I know perfectly well, Lila just claimed something had happened and people believed it. In comparison, the Russian Revolution has been documented thoroughly, pictured and written. There's actual proof since the day this event happened."

"Yeah, documented by narrow minded old men who only listened to what they want to hear!" Trixx yelled.

"Alya!" Ms Bustier shouted, appalled.

"Annie and I had a hoot together!" Orikko said, flying out of Nathaniel's jacket.

The red-headed boy quickly grasped the little rooster but was peaked with interest. "Annie? As in Anastasia? The grand duchess Anastasia?"

"She was a great gal! Full of spirit!"

Nathaniel got out his sketchbook and, for the first time in months since Marinette left, he started to draw. A laughing girl with a feathery mask, a bright red jumpsuit and long curly hair.

"We are not discussing the animated film Anastasia, Nathaniel. We are discussing true history."

Barkk suddenly whimpered, so Sabrina pretended to cry. "It'ss just so sad about the poor princesses and prince!"

Ms Bustier was beginning to feel dizzy from shifting her attention from one student to another in a spilt of a second on each teenager.

"Children, please, I know we are still reeling from our mistake in blindly believing Lila, but this is a history class and the only facts we discuss is the true history. Now please be quiet!"

"JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL THOSE WHO MURDER INNOCENTS IN COLD BLOOD!" Roarr, well, roared.

Juleka freeze when the spotlight cast on her.

"…Interesting thought, Juleka."

As mentioned before, Lila was busy rubbing her hands with hand lotion, oblivious to Fluff making faces in front of her

Good news: Alix swiftly grabbed Fluff before Lila looked up.

Bad news: Lila noticed that Ivan was tending a dark blue 'toy.'

"Miss, Ivan is playing with a toy instead of listening to you!"

Ivan held his hands up, Stompp flying to his backpack to hide. "Am not."

Amidst the crazy class, Mylene and Mullo were the only ones keeping quiet.

"ENOUGH!"

Ms Bustier finally lost it.

"Any more talking during this class and you are all to spend after school in detention with Lila!"

That shut everyone up, even the kwamis.

Lila huffed.

Under Alya's glare, Wayzz shivered with sheepishness while Trixx merely shrugged.

"I can't help it." She said with a smirk. "Your lecturer kept giving you false information."

Alya raised her brows, hardening her gaze at the little kwamis. But then she asked something that was causing her great anxiety.

"So, what really happened in the Russian Revolution?"

Trixx's smirk grew. "The Romanovs had a holy man helping them tend to Alexei. Rasputin. He was loyal to them. So loyal that he stole the Miraculous Box from Master Fu."

Adrien, Alya and Nino gasped.

"It was a bad decision, but the master and I understood his intentions." Wayzz said. "He was desperate to help the family he treated him as one of their own, royal or not."

"So, with the Miraculous, the princesses became superheroes?" Adrien couldn't help but asked.

Trixx kept grinning. "While their father was distracted, his kids were the country's superheroes. The eldest, Olga had Longg to become Zmei. Tatiana became Polkan with Kaalki. they were the perfect pair: snobby."

"Trixx!"

"I had Maria and she was Iisa. Under that pretty face, she was sly as a fox! Anastasia was Firebird with Orikko, and little Alexei, with Ziggy, was Wild Man."

"But Prince Alexei was sick with haemophilia! How could he fight?" Alya questioned.

Wayzz sighed. "He got stronger when Rasputin healed him with the Turtle Miraculous. It took a lot of my energy to aid the boy. But the joy on that boy's face was worth the pain. It's ironic that the Romanovs used the Miraculous just to save Russia, but it only made things worse. The revolution was just too powerful."

"Lenin used them to his advantage." Trixx pouted. "He said that the Tsar is not helping the people at all, that heroes were rising from the poor to serve injustice. Bah! He's one to talk about injustice! Lying, cheating, power hungry egomaniac! Like that Lina girl."

Alya nodded in agreement. "Exactly. And her name is Lila."

"In the end, Master Fu made a deal with Rasputin to smuggle the Romanavs out to Finland in exchange for the Miraculous they had took." Wayzz revealed.

"Hold on. The royal family survived?"

"Why did you think I was screaming at your teacher?" Trixx retorted. "There was no execution. The stupid Revolutionaries made the whole thing up."

"But the autopsy confirmed it was them!" Nino exclaimed.

"The royal children and Rasputin used their miraculous to create duplicates of their bodies to fool everyone." Wayzz confessed. "It is extremely dangerous to combine so many Miraculous at once. You can use all the miraculous, but only one at a time."

Trixx burst out laughing. "I can still remember the look on the revolutionaries' and their parents' faces when the kids transform right in front of them!"

"No man wants to defeat they got their behinds kicked by a group of kids."

"Especially when that group of kids was the royal children who were also the country's beloved vigilantes!" The fox's massive grin calmed down to a small smile. "They were great kids. They could've been what the country needed."

"But there were too many bad rules trapping them. They won't be able to do any changes on their own."

"So, they lived?" Adrien asked hopefully.

"Yes, they lived. They have descendants to this day. And their survival must be kept a secret. Always."

Trixx poked her short arm in Alya's nose. "Don't be putting this on your blog!"

"I won't! Besides, no one will believe me anyway." Alya had said before her phone beeped. She answered it, looking at the screech and frowned. "Uh oh. There's another akuma by the Notre Dame."

Plagg gawked, his mouth open for a fine slice of cheese in his tiny paws. "Already? But I haven't had my cheese yet!"

Adrien groaned. He was beyond tired, but he had to fight some more.

"Plagg, claws out!"

"MY CHEEEESE…!"

Adrien transformed back into Chat Noir, sucking Plagg back in his ring.

"I gotta go!"

"But what about your old man?" Nino asked.

"Dad won't even notice I'm gone. Without Natalie, he's more oblivious than before. As long as he keeps that up, I'm fine with it."

And by that, the black-clad hero darted off.

As promised, Ms Bustier ranged Gabriel Agreste about the confirmation of Adrien's 'photoshoot.'

Several times.
