Dear Readers,
Welcome to another installment of Professor Tohsaka at Beacon Academy!
I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter Thirteen "Can you give me a chance, Yang?"
Ruby and Yang quickly dodged the crowd of students that approached them. It was easy for them to run away using their huntress training. They disappeared. Beacon students shouted in surprise after losing sight of their targets. Frantically the students searched for where Ruby and Yang could have gone.
"This is starting to become troublesome…" Yang sighed while hanging from the ceiling.
"Agreed." Ruby nodded besides her older sister.
The girls dropped down from the ceiling and recalled how they had gotten in their current mess.
Their peaceful and enjoyable life had gone up to smoke after the Patch Public Nudity incident that had happened two days ago. Students continued to pester the sisters for information even when their father and uncle that had been initially reported to be involved with the incident had their names cleared. Many Beacon students didn't seem to care that the real culprit had revealed herself or if fake Qrow and Taiyang had been holographic projections created by the culprit's Semblance.
Still, the girls were grateful.
The sisters shuddered when they recalled the first day when the news media had hounded them as they were juicy prey waiting to be caught for slaughtering. Just one day alone had turned their lives to hell, running away from bloodhound-like news reporters demanding for information. Things could have continued as the first day or even gotten worse.
"We should thank Headmaster Ozpin and Professor Tohsaka for pulling some strings to get the reporters off our backs," said Ruby gratefully.
"I don't think Professor Tohsaka was involved." Yang frowned. "I mean she is not connected to the incident in any way. She wouldn't have been affected."
"I think it's because of Instructor Emiya. He seems to have taken a liking of me."
Yang turned to her younger sister and looked at Ruby dubiously. "Instructor Emiya is friendly with everyone. He doesn't favor anyone in particular."
"That's not true, Yang! He wouldn't have taught me while everyone was learning about tantric rit-"
"Stop right there, Ruby!" shouted Yang while she fought back a blush. "Promise me that you will never attempt to find any information about tantric rituals."
"Yang, we've gone through this several times. I am not a child. I might have been admitted to Beacon two years earlier than most Beacon students, but I'm not ignorant of what sex is."
"I don't want to talk about it again… Promise me Ruby that you will dare to look into tantric rituals. This is for your sake. I'm doing this as your older sister!"
Ruby glared at her sister. They had this conversation about a dozen times already and it had always ended in the same way. She hadn't made a promise to Yang, but this time her older sister seemed more serious and stressed out than usual. She didn't want to be treated like a child, but Ruby felt that if she didn't promise then their relationships as sisters might fray.
"Fine! I promise!" Ruby shouted unwillingly.
"Really?!" Yang's eyes softened and glowed happily. "You promise to cross your heart and hope to die if you break this pledge?"
"Yes, Yang!"
"There's my baby sister!" chirped Yang as she grabbed Ruby and hugged. "Professor Tohsaka should have never taught anyone about tantric rituals. It opened a Pandora's box that never should have been opened."
"Okay, I got it, Yang. Put me down." Ruby complained and Yang let her down while smiling. "So, what do you think we should do for dinner? It's rather difficult for us to eat these days when our peers would chase after us for information about the Incident."
"I don't know…" Yang growled in frustration as she pinched her nose. "The cafeteria is always filled with students no matter the hour as growing huntsmen require a diet several times what a normal civilian need. All the physical activity and usage of Aura burns through calories like there is no tomorrow."
"It's Od, Sis. Aura isn't the right term." Ruby butted in and Yang threw her a look in response. "Why don't we ask Instructor Emiya for food? He has offered to cook for me in the past. The offer is still on the table."
"Instructor Emiya's offer does seem good right now. I have heard his food is really good."
Ruby's Scroll started ringing and she picked it up. "Speak of the devil," said Ruby as she showed the caller's identity to Yang. "He just called us."
Yang listened in half-hearted as Ruby started speaking with Shirou. It started off with the usual greetings, a few sentences about how things are going and etc… That changed when Ruby screamed in delight and her eyes beamed with happiness.
"What's was that about?" Yang asked her ecstatic sister.
"Sis, I just got some great news! Mom's back and she is talking to Headmaster Ozpin right now." Ruby gushed happily then she grabbed Yang's wrist. "What are we waiting for!? Let's go!"
Yang didn't even have time to respond as Ruby dragged her along while using her Semblance to dash through the hallway. She could scream for Ruby to slow down. Something that was promptly ignored and Yang could only hold onto Ruby's hand for her dear life as she flailed in the wind behind the speeding Ruby.
"Here we are," chirped Ruby as she stopped using her speed Semblance.
"I could have run here on my own two legs, Ruby…" Yang panted as she kneeled over to catch her breath.
"Speed was the upmost importance. It's Mom we are talking about!" Ruby gushed and she walked up to the door leading into Ozpin's office. "Headmaster we're-"
"Stop resisting and let me castrate you, Ozpin!" screamed a familiar voice that Ruby and Yang had dreamed for years to hear once more.
Ruby's grip on the doorknob faltered as she turned to Yang in shock. Her older sister was in a similar state as she stared at the door in a stunned matter.
"Enough, Summer! I have allowed you to vent your anger on Ozpin long enough, but threatening to castrate him the second time is crossing the line!" shouted a furious Glynda that Ruby and Yang from heard from behind the door. "If you continue with this then I will be forced to call upon the police to have you arrested for Assault and attempted Bodily Harm."
Ruby snapped out of her shock. "No, you can't do that!?" She screamed as she smashed the door open. "My mother will never attempt to hurt anyone!"
"Ruby!?" shouted Taiyang and Qrow that Ruby and Yang had never known was inside Ozpin's office.
"Is that my baby girl?!" A woman that had a clone-like appearance and the same voice as Ruby's mother questioned Taiyang and Qrow. Before the men could complete a nod, the woman raced to Ruby and embraced the girl. "Ruby, my baby girl! Look at how much you have grown. I almost couldn't recognize you. How have you been? Have you been eating enough, exercising your body regularly and getting eight hours of solid sleep every night?"
"Mom, it's you! I missed you. Where have you been all this time?!" Ruby cried in mixture of delight and disbelief.
"Your mom has been missing because of Ozpin, who deserves to have his balls crushed," explained Taiyang to his daughter.
"Can you please stop mentioning my balls and plans to do something horrible to them!" shouted an outraged Ozpin.
"You better explain everything now, Oz," casually added Qrow. "The excuse that you forget is not going to cut it."
The Beacon Headmaster was about to shout when something hit Ozpin, driving me into the wall before the wall broke.
"Ozpin!" screamed an alarmed Glynda before she too was hit by something was sent flying out the window in the same direction as Ozpin.
Team STRQ and the sisters tensed up and looked for the source before they relaxed when they saw it was Shirou.
"Forget about Ozpin and Glynda. I will keep them busy and enjoy your reunion." Shirou shouted from the roof of a nearby building and he disappeared in the direction where Ozpin and Glynda had blasted off.
~ O ~
"Was that really necessary?!" I couldn't but ask after Shirou made his way to where he had shot Ozpin and Glynda. "They will not be very happy at what you did. Hell, our alliance with Ozpin and the secret organization he is part of might have been broken by what you did."
"The ship has already sailed. We can worry about the fallout later." My husband casually brushed off my concern. "Besides, they deserve an uninterrupted reunion that has been waiting for years. I would have done the same if you and Sakura met for the first time in a decade."
I covered my face in embarrassment but laughed at my husband's action. He wasn't the most rational person at times, but he made sense from an emotional or moral perspective. It was a part of him that had reaffirmed his ideals despite meeting his future self who had embodied his goal as a Hero of Justice, only to succeed and find eternal damnation afterwards. The same trait that had made me fall in love with him in the first place.
My laughter ended, and I started to plan on how to handle the fallout of Shirou's actions. I might agree with the rational of my husband's actions, but that didn't mean Ozpin and Glynda would think the same way.
In fact, I was willingly to bet the same anger that had led to Summer and her team to gang up on Ozpin might led to Shirou fighting against the infuriated Beacon Headmaster and Deputy Headmistress.
If a fight was to occur I wasn't too worried about Shirou's safety. He could be defeated, but the act of killing him seemed impossible. Shirou only faced any real danger if Ozpin possessed the power of his prime. Shirou after all possessed his own powers, ones that he had gained from sharing his body with his ancestor and my own large Od to call upon Unlimited Blade Works if things went south.
I started to make a list of concessions that I could give to appease Ozpin's and Glynda's anger. In fact, I wouldn't even call them "concessions" in the first place as I had already made prior plans to hand over several gifts to cement an alliance with Ozpin.
The list included very basic knowledge on multiply disciplines of magecraft that any undergraduate of Clock Tower would learn. Shirou himself knew the basic knowledge I wanted to give Sadly, his crippling inability to use nothing outside of his specialty that was stopping him..
My gift was not a selfless act so that people of Remnant might live better lives by using what knowledge I gave as Shirou thought so. I refused to do such a thing as it went against my common self-values of equivalent exchange! No, it was for a self-serving reason. I was just one woman, and while there were many ego clones of mine to help, I wouldn't possibly make any substantial progress for several decades at my current pace. It would take several brilliant minds and work of many other to recreate the 2nd True Magic that had brought me and Shirou to Remnant in any meaningful timespan.
Otherwise, I swear I might lose any hope in getting back to Earth and become too attached to Remnant for me to ever dare to leave when the time came.
"You are deceiving yourself, Rin. My ideals have infected you!"
"I don't believe in your stupid ideals. Only death and misery await that path. Look at EMIYA's fate!"
"You are just making excuses. I know that you are softy inside, Rin."
"Screw you, Shirou! Stop trying to read my thoughts and memories. Our mind-link isn't for invading each other's privacy but to allow instant communication and supplying of Mana so that you can your Reality Marble when needed!"
"So you say, but your mind says differently."
"Shirou, I'm going to kill you if you keep doing that!"
~ O ~
The adults and teenagers stared where Ozpin and Glynda had been shot out from the room for a few moments in silence. The silence was soon broken in a very emotional manner.
"Ruby!" Summer screamed happily.
"Mom!" yelled the ecstatic daughter. "I missed you so much!"
As mother and daughter talked to each other, Yang was left stunned and jealous. The older girl knew logically that Summer cherished her just as much as Ruby, but the emotional side of her screamed that Summer would forever prioritize Ruby over her. It was self-explanatory. What mother would treat her step-daughter more highly than her own flesh and blood?
A similarly conflicted Raven stared at the Summer and Ruby before turning to her own biological daughter. She was even more deeply troubled then Yang. This was her daughter that she had looked after for a few months after birth before being forced to abandoned unwillingly. Not because she had wanted to. The Magic Crest implanted in her chest and the geas placed inside the Magic Crest had forcefully dragged her body even as her mind had fought to stay with her family at Patch.
"It's never too late to make up," said Qrow as he placed his hand on Raven's shoulder and squeezed in reassurance. "Yang might hate you now, but if you tell her the truth then she will eventually come to terms with your situation."
"But-" Raven tried to respond.
"Yang will understand." Qrow interrupted. "She knows more about magic then you do thanks to Professor Tohsaka's classes."
"You better get onto it," Taiyang spoke up while giving Raven a slap on the ass. Raven yelped and glared at her husband. "Yang needs the mother that she had never met right now."
"I will try," Raven grumbled. "You are going to pay for slapping my ass later." She hissed and she started walking over to a distraught Yang. "Hey, Yang… I know that I don't deserve to call you my daughter, but you have a mother that can help-"
"You're not my mother!" screamed Yang. "You lost that right when you left father and me behind for your clan!"
"Mother?" repeated Ruby, interrupting her joyful reunion with her mother. "What does Yang mean by that?"
"This is going to be difficult…" Summer grumbled as she stopped hugging Ruby. "Umphm… This is Raven Branwen, your uncle's older twin sister. She is Yang's biological mother."
"Wait, I think I've seen you before…" Ruby's expression scrunched up. "You were in old photos of Team STRQ that mother, father and uncle was part of during their time in Beacon!"
The men looked at the women. They felt it wasn't their place to speak up.
"That's right," Summer spoke up. "Say hello to Raven, your aunt and…" Her expression turned awkward as if unsure for a moment before making a decision. "Step-mum." Everyone stared at her. "What?! I know its awkward and unusual, but it's the truth."
"You don't have to call me step-mum," Raven began while smiling. "That makes our relationship really strange. Tai and I never divorced so technically I never began your step-mom."
"Oh wow this is getting complicated really fast…" groaned Qrow.
"Don't make overthink. Keep things simple," replied Taiyang. "Ruby let's go with calling Raven as your Aunt."
Ruby nodded her head. "Kay!"
A furious Yang contained her anger as she didn't want to ruin the happy atmosphere that had developed. She carefully controlled her temper and asked, "Dad, Uncle you don't seem to be angry at… Raven. Do you know the reason why she left and never returned?"
Raven was about to speak up, but Qrow shook his head at her. "Kid, what do you remember about Magic Crests and geas?" He asked.
The blonde-haired girl frowned for a moment in confusion before Raven's Scroll flew towards Yang.
"What's this for?" Yang couldn't help but ask as she caught the Scroll.
"Read it, Yang," replied Raven.
"Go on," Summer encouraged.
"Yea, Yang! Read what's there. I also don't recall Magic Crests and geas." exclaimed Ruby as she had troubled even remembering if she had learned anything related to those words in Professor Tohsaka's class.
Yang sighed. She had been hoping her younger sister paid more attention to classes, but it seemed like her dreams of getting personal tutoring of her idol, Shirou Emiya, had been distracting Ruby from studying properly.
"Mom, you have to scold Ruby for not studying properly," complained Yang as she address Summer and not to Raven, who was her biological mother. "Ruby is going to be held back a year if this keeps going on."
Raven winced at how her biological daughter had not so much as glanced in her direction. It hurt her feeling. Qrow and Taiyang was about to comfort her but Summer beat them to the punch.
"Yang don't treat your own mother so coldly. She had her own circumstances-"
"That is just excuse! Raven Branwen is a wanted and very dangerous criminal responsible for the deaths of hundreds and dozens of populated settlements as the leader of the Branwen bandit tribe," Yang screamed venomously while pointing at Raven. "How can someone like her deserve to be my mother!"
Raven looked away in shame. She really wanted to reunite with Yang, and return to the lovely days when she looked at her daughter. Yet, she couldn't dare to bring her desires up when Yang hated her so strongly. What pained her the most was that Yang was correct. She had been responsible for many deaths as the Branwen leader. Acts that made her unsuitable as a mother.
"Yang, if you want to level the accusation of being responsible for the deaths of many people then I would also join Raven," said Summer reluctantly as she was bringing up something that she had wanted buried.
"What?!" Yang and Ruby, who had been watching silently for a while, shouted in disbelief.
Summer closed her eyes in a guilty manner. "As the leader of STRQ, during our days at Beacon and after our graduation, our team were sent on many missions to eliminate dangerous Grimm or to rescue a besieged settlement," she said with great regret. "There were times due to fault intelligence or us not being strong and smart enough that we failed to prevent a disaster."
"How could you possible succeed in every mission! Everyone wanting to be a huntsman or huntress is drilled that it is inevitable that sometimes you cannot save someone," shouted Ruby to her mother's defense. "You can't save everyone." She repeated a often quoted saying that Beacon alumni presented during talks.
"What if I told you that I had been forces not just once, but multiple times, to abandon a settlement," replied Summer in quiet voice as she refused to meet her children's gaze.
"Impossible! You would rather die to save someone!" yelled Yang.
Qrow spoke up. "Sorry kid, but there are times that even we are so scared or lose our nerves that we are forced abandon the people we are supposed to protect."
"Stop joking around, Mum, Uncle?" Yang glanced at Summer and Qrow. "It has to be a joke. Right…?"
"Sorry, Yang, but Summer is being serious," sighed Taiyang as he joined in the conversation. "Yang, you have to remember that huntsmen are still human. We are not infallible or as fearless as the media often portrays us. You will also face several moments when you're so scared that you think of nothing more than to leave the fight and run for your life. I never brought this up you before cause it was too heavy to talk about, and black mark on my life."
"No way…!" exclaimed Yang in denial.
"Team STRQ would never ever do such a thing!" Ruby added.
To the shock of Yang and Ruby their parental figures; Summer, Taiyang and Qrow denied their words. It struck them so hard that their unshakeable confidence in their parental figures was greatly affected.
"I think we should avoid this depressing topic, and we have gotten sidetracked." Raven chimed in as she hadn't felt it had been her place to talk until now. "I just want to add my word final words on the topic. Not even the strongest, skilled, or experienced huntsmen such as the likes of Shirou Emiya or Headmaster Ozpin had moments they were scared and fled when they shouldn't have."
The adults and the teens remained in silence for a while until an unknown amount of time passed.
"So why are you bringing up Magic Crests and geas?" Yang asked as if the heavy conversation that had happened not too long ago had never occurred. "I don't think you would bring something I had learned in class to quiz me."
The men glanced at Raven and she nodded.
"Yang, how much do you actually know about the Branwen clan? You know besides the propaganda spouted by the media or government," asked Qrow.
"Hmphm!" Yang huffed. "What is there more to know. The Branwen tribe is made up of criminals from minor crimes such as stealing to major felonies such as blackmailing, kidnapping, human trafficking, and murder."
"You will have to rethink your opinion as the Branwen blood runs in your veins, Yang." Qrow sighed. "I didn't know about it too until what is being commonly called the Patch Nudity Incident and my sister lost her position as leader in a coup, but it seems like our tribe once had a glorious past as very powerful and skilled mages. One of the best when magic was still around."
"Don't try and spin a terrible lie, Uncle." Yang shook her head in disapproval. "Just because you are my uncle and the person responsible for giving birth to me is your sister doesn't mean I will believe such outlandish stories-"
"Yang," Summer interrupted. "Your Branwen ancestors were a famous family of mages. Some of your ancestors included the most legendary mages such as Yang the Conqueror of Death, Yin the Master of Life, and many more from Remnant's magical past."
"Wait, is this legendary Yang the Conqueror of Death the reason why you gave Yang that name?" Qrow suddenly asked his twin sister.
"Yes," sighed Raven as if she was recalling happier times, "and I had just hoped maybe Yang might be blessed for great things if she carried the name of our legendary ancestor."
"Damn, I didn't think Yang's name had such deep meaning…"
"Qrow, Raven…" Taiyang coughed. "Yang's starting to get really angry. She might blow up like a bomb if you keep ignoring her."
"Oh, I wouldn't explode, Dad." Yang smiled and no one was going to be convinced by that. "So Magic Crests and geas? How is this connected to 'Raven' running away."
"I think you should recognize what this is," said Raven as lifted her shirt to reveal her bare breasts and between them was a glowing light that had formed a shape Yang had been learning in her classes with Rin Tohsaka.
"That's a Magic Crest! Why is a geas bound to a Magic Crest?" Yang was left stunned and she stared at her birther. "Professor Tohsaka has been recently teaching about the traditions of the extinct mages. She stressed that Magic Crests were amongst the most precious treasures that mages possessed. It was the accumulation of knowledge and power of a mage's ancestors and wars were fought over them. No mage would be willingly to place a geas that could damage or destroy a Magic Crest unless it's a magical contract that would ensure the survival and prosperity of the family."
"This geas!" Raven spat angrily as she dug her nails into the glowing light almost as if she wanted to rip it out of her chest. "Forced me to give up on you, Taiyang, Qrow and Summer. It forced me from being the mother that I had always wanted to. I was robbed from seeing you grow up and be there to teach you everything as a mother!" Her red eyes glowed like she was ready to kill. "Do you think I wanted to give up motherhood and be a leader of group of criminals!?"
"Raven calm down!" Her teammates shouted in panic. The men grabbed Raven's arms and forced them away from her chest while Summer inspected her torso where her fingers had dug into flesh.
"I only see some flesh wounds," said Summer in a relieved tone and the men sighed as they wrestled Raven from ripping out the Magic Crest placed around Raven's heart.
Yang stared at Raven in shock. Her belief, where Raven was irresponsible woman that had run away because she didn't want to be burdened with rising a kid, was greatly shaken. Maybe Raven wasn't the sadistic leader of criminals that loved the terrible deeds they committed was also wrong?
"Qrow, Tai, let go off me. I don't care about some lost glory of my ancestors from long ago. What do they matter when I had been robbed of seeing Yang grow up and performing my motherly duties! The Magic Crest is curse that should be destroyed." Raven screamed furiously as she bucked against her husband and brother's arms.
"Yang come over and hug your mother," requested Summer as she beckoned. "The geas on the Magic Crest has been suppressing your mother's guilt and stress until now. If you don't do something then your mother might suffer a mental breakdown. Something that I, Tai and Qrow don't want to see." Yang hesitated and continued to watch the bucking Raven. "Please Yang. Do this for my sake. If not for your father and uncle."
"Come on, Yang!" Ruby poked then gently pushed. "She really looks like she really meant it."
Yang sighed and walked over. Qrow and Tai moved Raven in a manner that gave Yang some room.
"Please calm down…" Yang struggled to voice her words. "Mother… I am here and I would… love to be your daughter…" She slowly brought her arms around Raven.
Raven's struggles weakened then she stopped moving entirely as Yang's arms embraced her. The men let go of Raven.
"Yang, I'm sorry! I should have never considered taking the position as chief. If I hadn't become chief then I would have been there for you as your mother…" Raven cried as she hugged her daughter in response. "Will you give me a chance to earn your trust?"
