As they got out of the elevator they walked down a path that almost felt like they were gladiators in an old-style coliseum, the floors were carpeted in a deep red color almost like the color was chosen to hide blood stains, and the walls had the feeling of roman if not greek walkways, at the very least the wall had a color that reminded Yusuke of marble.
As they exited a door they found themselves in a small arena complete with dirt floors and even columns for decoration, from one side of the place they could see that high up near the ceiling there was a group of men who were clearly there to enjoy a show, but the true horror to Yusuke and the others was the young woman who was held by her throat by holding her chain which was no better than a dog's leash.
For some strange reason, both Kurama and Gouki were also waiting in the arena, almost like they were waiting for them to show up, "Well took you guys long enough, enjoyed your delightful tour of the villain's lair I hope, before you ask Koenma thought that he should send me and Gouki as extra muscle in this since he apparently learned that one of the strongest apparition gangs was working for fatso over there. Gouki has been rather more emotional than usual, would you know anything about that Yusuke?"
Yusuke was glaring at the fat bastard that was holding Yukina like he was Jabba the Hutt, and Yukina apparently was not as young as the video suggested and was pulling off a rather impressive impression of Princess Leia. Gouki didn't look happy that Yusuke was more focused on the ice maiden than paying any attention to what Gouki was even wearing, or his emotions, which were gone completely nuts after he gave him that stupid pill.
The extremely fat man who was sitting on what seemed to be a throne decided to turn on a microphone and a video camera to hear what Yusuke and the others would say, "You intruders have entered my home, damaged it, and killed some of my minions before I set two of the strongest fighters I have ever seen against you, I should at least be fair and asked you why did you invade my property and hoped to get from doing this?"
Hiei was livid at the way he saw his sister being treated, but much to his enjoyment no matter what they did to her or screamed they couldn't make her shed a single tear. Kurama was thinking of ways to get to that room and use those men as fertilizer for a new rose garden, at least something beautiful would grow from such filth.
Yusuke had to actually stop Kuwabara from screaming a series of colorful insults that most than likely revolved around various forms of feces and animals engaging in sexual relations with either their mothers or other relatives which may include them.
"Yusuke Urameshi, Spirit Detective, I have come to free a kidnapped ice apparition, which is a few feet from you, and we know you plan to torture her to make her cry for your own profit since her tears are the sort that becomes diamonds. "
He looked at the fat man and pointed at him, "What I want is for you to hand her over to my custody, for you to make a full confession of all your crimes to both human and spirit world authorities and willingly go to prison to serve the sentence is appropriate for each of you. Not that I think you will do that, since you are an obvious crime boss."
The man laughed and told him that he was correct he was not going to give up his living diamond factory and it was beyond stupid to expect that he would surrender and confess his crimes. Instead, he was going to send them to fight two of the most powerful members of a gang of apparitions, which is ironic they are here to save an ice apparition while the apparitions that he hired will kill them.
Yusuke saw the large muscular man who he heard much about from his Master Genkai, and the smaller one sitting on his shoulder like a parrot must be his older brother, something he found rather confusing when Genkai told him that indeed the smaller one is the oldest of the two brothers.
He didn't bother saying a word to Toguro he simply glared in such a way as to hide a nod of his head. Gonzo stood up and looked at Toguro and his brother making a sign to them to kill the intruders with his finger indicating that he wanted their heads as a trophy. "Apparitions working to kidnap and harm other apparitions what would you say about that Spirit Detective?" Gonzo mocked Yusuke as he saw both brothers walk towards Yusuke, Kuwabara, Botan, Kurama, Gouki, and Hiei.
Yusuke simply spat on the ground and said that they were the same as humans, he glared at the man and told him he had killed and harmed humans too for the same reason, cause he wouldn't be able to gather this level of wealth in a legitimate way, which much to his anger made the others that were in the same room with his laugh and one who was smoking a cigar simply said that essentially what the guy said was true.
Toguro and his brother talked and for some strange reason his brother began to contort and change his body till the older brother became a sword, an actual broadsword made by changing his body, Toguro walking towards Yusuke smiled, and began talking in a low tone that the humans couldn't hear but it was crystal clear to Botan and the others.
"So before we get started, there is only one person who would know enough about me to make you feel that you got a good read on me, so here is my question how is Genkai doing lately, ever since I became like this I haven't been able to visit her apartment."
Yusuke laughed and told him nice try, but she was still in that same shrine as always and she still had all those fun game machines, as for how she was, aside from some aches and pains that come with training his master was doing just fine, or at least she never complained or gave him the impression that she was ill.
"Look had that old lady even looked slightly sick, I would grab her, put her on my back, and take her to the nearest doctor to get something to make sure she got better even if I had to do that with her screaming, complaining and hitting me on the back of my head."
Toguro looked at him in a serious manner that screamed to his friends that strangely he would actually approve of him doing that, "We didn't sign up for a debate, and truth be told I rather solve things with my fists rather than my words, so how about we get the party started, or else those fat rich slobs up there will start to get bored and we don't want that now do we?"
Toguro hearing this felt something he never felt before like he met someone that reminded him of himself when he was a young human, Toguro ran towards Yusuke using the sword that once was his brother to try and attack him, but Yusuke was not alone and each of them used their abilities to help each other and block, evade or redirect attacks from the large man and his weapon.
The one thing however Kuwabara was not as experienced in fighting as the others were and in fact his code of honor was more of a hindrance than actually something that would help him, Kuwabara was fighting to defeat and capture while the others knew better and treated the fight as a fight for their lives, which it was.
Honestly, since Kuwabara had not fought like this before he gave Yusuke the impression that he thought the entire fight was no better than a bit of sporting competition, well that idea came crashing down when the instance Yusuke blocked a fatal attack he was the one to receive it himself and Kuwabara finally realized that this fight was not a competition but rather one in a war.
He quickly ran towards his friend and with two fingers checked but it was too late, there was no pulse, his friend and rival were dead, and all because he didn't take the fight as seriously as Yusuke and the others had done, for some strange reason Hiei and Kurama both were furious at Toguro. Gouki was acting like he wanted to rip Gonzo in half.
So much so that they shed their human appearance and appeared as the demons they were, Hiei was covered with eyes and one on his forehead that had a sinister glow, Kurama grew several fox-like traits such as a tail, and his ears and hair changed, his hair turned stark silver white, Gouki underwent the most strange transformation as his body and face became sort of more feminine.
Hiei walked towards Toguro with his sword pointing at him, "My name is Hiei, Evil Eye Hiei I am known as, you just killed the guy who I considered my potential future brother in law, you brought me great grief, let me return the favor."
Kurama stopped him and told him something was not right with Yusuke and he instead should see what was going on, the dead body of their friend was seen glowing a sinister crimson color, and Kuwabara simply attributed it to him being covered in blood from his injury, but as soon as Kurama blocked an attack from Toguro who had taken this moment of them being distracted to strike at their weak link, Kuwabara.
That was when they all stopped as they heard a man clapping his hands as he apparently walked into the arena, he simply ignored their glares and shocked looks as he walked over to Yusuke, opened his mouth took something from his coat pocket, and shoved it in as he forced the body to swallow it.
Immediately Yusuke was healed and was just as good as when the fight started, "Great, nice going guys, made me waste a legendary healing item on this punk, just a spectacular fuck up, I know you boys like to rough house and you may get a little rough in your games, but first hey moron with the knock-off lightsaber situational awareness you might want to get some, and to the terminator knock-off, your ex-girlfriend is going to be pissed about how you tried to kill her apprentice."
That is when Kuwabara who finally got to understand what the stranger told him glared at him, "Look you may have saved Urameshi here, but what gives you the right to lecture us, you look like a video game rejects, who the fuck are you anyways!"
That is when the man did a bow with a flourish for dramatic effect, "Oh I forgot to introduce myself, I am Dante, Dante Spardason, and who am I, I am the man who once was considered a walking arsenal, but really I was hired by this punk's daddy to save him as to you Carrot Top don't worry I happen to know you emotional outburst will seem very appropriate for you sooner than you think. Now do you want to sit on the sidelines Yusuke or can anyone join in on the fun?"
Yusuke said that the more the merrier and Toguro who laughed at the terminator's mention said that he could only use one weapon for their entire fight. Dante simply took out his sword and said that would be just fine, which made the one Toguro look a little small by comparison.
They continued to fight and the idiots watching continued to bet against the intruders thinking there is no way that Toguro and his brother would lose to them, they were both able and feared fighters long before any of them had ever been born, some wet behind the ears brats were no challenge to them or so they thought.
In truth after the way, the initial bunch dealt with the estate security forces both outside and inside told Sakiyo that these invaders are clearly more powerful than they looked, so he is what some of the other Black Black Club members considered suicide or a plain stupid idea he consistently bet in favor of the intruders.
During the first three fights, they saw Sakiyo win some money but the others simply attributed that to a lucky guess after all those fights ended up with him winning the bet every single time, this made some of them actually want to bet favor of the intruders, something Sakiyo found amusing.
To Dante to be honest this was just a chance for him to stretch and workout, even if he had to use one of his weakest swords, otherwise, if he used his father's blade the entire arena would be covered in blood and guts, never mind that if he had to use his Devil Trigger, and that briefcase he had in his inventory, he could destroy an entire army by himself.
But compared to the fights of old even fights against his stupid emo big brother, the way the Toguro brothers fought was telegraphed to the point that he could avoid the attacks without even trying, the real difficulty was keeping Yusuke alive, and not get killed by an enemy attack of by a colossal screw up by Kuwabara who at some point began to suspect that he was actively trying to get Yusuke killed for some odd reason.
He never spent much time with this trainwreck with reddish orange hair that was named Kuwabara, and at least the others were not as painful to deal with, Hiei and Gouki did their best to block attacks, while Kurama used plants to restrain Toguro giving Yusuke a chance to strike if Kuwabara didn't jump in at the worst possible time distracting Yusuke almost causing him to get killed.
For then minutes they fought and for ten minutes those that placed their bets on Yusuke were happy, but the ones that didn't realize that the intruders were not just lucky but instead were an actual threat, Gonzo actively considered running away with his money or at least his ice apparition that he still planned to use her tears to recover all his losses.
Had he been smart he would have done this when his first line of defense was brutally killed by the intruders but the fat man was still smugly thinking he could not lose while wearing his pinstriped suit. His ego and overconfidence were the real reason for his failure, and he knew it, but he also could tell from the way he would see Yusuke look at his captive and how she blushes when she saw his face that Yusuke was not letting him escape and if he tried to take her with him it would be as good as suicide.
The fight ended with one brother getting knocked out of the grip of one of them and Yusuke somehow using that sword to stab him in the gut making it look like he died a gruesome and bloody death that had the people who bet for him cheering.
The founder of the Black Black Club was rendered effectively penniless so he could no longer be a member of their underground club anymore which was an irony not lost to them or Sakiyo. As the camera turned off Yukina was allowed to leave the room to where her rescuers were, but not without hearing a promise from them that they will not try to do as Gonzo did, and he would be made to pay for everything he owes them because one of the last things Gonzo bet on this particular climatic fight had been his own life.
Yusuke knew better than to expect either Toguro brothers to be dead or even injured, he wasn't even to thirty percent of his power, this was theater, "Alright Toguro, I kept my end of the bargain, you kept yours, I get the girl and nobody goes after her again, and I will participate in the dark tournament, just give me some more time to train with your ex, and maybe then I can give you a decent fight, I know I would like that so I am guessing so would you."
Hiei walked over to Dante and asked him why would he even help Yusuke, since if he was a friend of his, he would have helped him fight him that one time, Dante looked at him and simply said it as plainly as possible because he was getting paid to do it. Dante went as far as to say he doesn't do charity work, this was extremely well paid, and considering how many wives he has very much necessary.
Just to add a little incentive for Hiei to keep his mouth shut however he decided to tell him that he knows everything there is to know about him, even what will happen to him due to a little wish he whispered when one friend made a wish to save the mother of the other while preventing his friend from sacrificing himself, and he might think he is not known by that person he cares about, but unfortunately, Yukina already knows who her brother is, which is why he was worried while looking at the fight.
Hiei immediately demanded to know who was the fool that dared to tell his precious sister the secret of his identity, to which Dante told him nobody, she is not stupid she, of course, remembers the name of her brother, and under the unified legal case law, any name changes are in fact recorded and kept for potential legal issues. So Yukina only had to look up the records and she would know if her brother changes his name, but that was not even necessary since he never did.
Kurama looked at him and as he changed back to his human appearance it seems he had small access to his true form for a brief moment due to his emotions going out of control, he walked over to Dante and asked him why did he even know the laws of the demon world, to which Dante told him he and his big brother were, in fact, half-demons, and did a lot of business in demon world so, of course, knowing the law was needed.
Kurama asked if he knew as much about him as he knew about Hiei which Dante told him he did, in fact, he said that the night when Yusuke offered to sacrifice his life for his mother, let's just say there may be something there that wasn't there before as a result. Hiei being pissed asked him to spill it and stop being cryptic, so Dante had no alternative but to flat-out say that Kurama had a major crush on Yusuke. It didn't help matters when Kurama turned around trying to hide his blush.
"Fox spirits are shapeshifters, don't see why that would be an issue, you want to stay within the norms of a hetero relationship, just become a woman, fox spirits have done that since ancient times. As for you since you asked for me to be less cryptic fine, Hiei here is going to be turning into a woman, and so is Kuwabara actually but that has less to do with the wish and more to do with the growing feelings he has, even you must have noticed how emotional Kuwabara gets when it comes to Yusuke."
Hiei didn't like the prospects of being a woman, but at least it also means he could be with his sister more often since the ice maiden home was pretty much forbidden for men to live there. But both Hiei and Kurama along with Gouki couldn't help to laugh at the scowls of both Yusuke and Kuwabara when they heard that comment about Kuwabara holding a secret crush on Yusuke.
As the conversation ended Yukina finally made it to them and out of nowhere she ran and hugged Yusuke like a princess welcoming the hero who saved her from the evil dragon, the fact that her clothes were not exactly up to her size and little more than rags made Yusuke blush as he suddenly found himself with his face buried in her cleavage. It was made even worse since she was also crying a lot, which means they need to stop this, or else they will have to dig through that mountain of crystal to prevent Yusuke from dying, something Dante was clearly paid to prevent.
"I am too old for this crap, alright break it up you two, I don't mind your PDA but I would think you would be embarrassed to do that with a group of people watching that could be considered a viewing audience. Hate to tell you this but this guy is sort of in a relationship with three women already, the sister of that idiot over there." Kuwabara simply said bite me, the second is his long lost girlfriend, "And finally the girl that came with him to rescue you." Botan simply said that she had no problem with sharing as long as they were willing to pull their own weight.
Yusuke couldn't help but feel refreshed somehow from that tight hug which was sort of odd to him, and as soon as Yukina let go of him he glared at Botan for saying that she didn't mind sharing, it was embarrassing when he first heard Shizuru and her talk about it, it was even more so since the girl that he was there to rescue practically declared her love for him.
Yukina didn't have an actual place where she could live or at least Yusuke asked his master to allow this ice apparition to live with her indefinitely, and from his training with his master, he knew better than to even ask, so he decided that she would stay over at his family's apartment until he could figure something out, and Yukina quite plainly stated that she was not returning to demon world until she could return to their land with her brother.
As soon as they left the ruins of the once pristine mansion, it was severely damaged in their attempt to rescue Yukina is true, but Yusuke decided to damage the property even more by taking some of his frustrations out on any of Gonzo's thugs that were stupid enough to try and get in his way.
They finally made it to the road and wondered if he had enough bus fare for himself and Yukina when a large vehicle was seen driving towards them and stopped close to them, a teenager and a very beautiful blonde woman got out of the car, and the blonde beauty kissed Dante on the lips and asked if the mission was complete, to which he said it was, which made the teenager happy when she told everyone to get in the vehicle since they need to go back home.
Yusuke immediately asked him who these two ladies were and where the hell this vehicle come from? To which the one sitting on Dante's lap began to laugh, "My husband has several very interesting women who married him, and they each have a special hobby they like to indulge in, one just happens to be repairing and modifying vehicles, she took an old beaten up school bus and turns it into this, perfect for when we all want to go together on a little romantic vacation, which doesn't happen often since my husband is always taking on increasingly difficult missions from both Hell and Spirit World."
Dante simply laugh as asked why should he limit who he can take contracts with? It would basically cut down his yearly profit by half if he did that, and both sides understand that any work he does is not personal, it's only business.
