Time jump: A month
Bobby stared down at his arm. After a week from the attack, his wounds started to heal rapidly. Doctors were surprised by the sudden healing, but waved it off. By the third week he had no indication of an attack. Clenching and unclenching his hand, he sighed. At least he didn't have to worry about any permanent damage.
"Bobby?" Athena knocked softly on the bathroom door.
"One sec." Finishing his morning shave, he pulled the door open. "Hey."
"You okay?"
"Yeah, why?"
Cupping his jaw, she stared into his eyes. "You were tossing all night. Sounded like you were having a nightmare."
Bobby frowned. "Really? If I did, I don't remember what it was."
"I tried waking you, but instead you pulled me into a bear hug." She chuckled. "Wouldn't let me go all night."
Bobby laughed, pulling her into his arms. Her back against his chest. "Having you in my arms does always makes me feel sane."
"That makes two of us." Athena hummed, snuggling deeper into his hold. "Makes me feel safer." Leaning down, Bobby kissed her neck softly. Inhaling deeply, growling softly at her intoxicating scent. "Did you just growl?"
Bobby paused his assault on her neck. "Did I?"
Turning around in his arms, she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Never heard you do that before."
"Didn't know I was doing it."
"I like it." Walking backwards, she pulled him along. Once the back of her knees hit the bed, she pulled him down with her.
Bobby chuckled, biting her neck gently. He had this intense urge to simply bite. To show the world she belonged to him. That no one was allowed to touch her. His hand trailed down her body, playing with the hem of her shirt. The moment his hand touched her warm skin, Bobby growled once more. He needed to feel her up against him. Prying her legs open with his knee, he settled between her, pulling her shirt up over her head.
Athena felt something different with him. For the past three days Bobby has had a nonstop sex drive. Where ever and when ever he could. Grabbing his shirt by the bottom seam, she ripped it off him. Running her hand down his chest, she noticed how hot he felt. His skin glistened from the sweat already forming. Running her hands up his back and into his hair, she groaned softly at the growl he gave her.
"Mom?!" Henry pounded on their door.
Bobby groaned, dropping his head on her shoulder. "Forgot it was a Saturday."
Athena laughed. "You have a shift? Henry and May are going to Micheals in a bit."
Bobby nodded, glancing at his watch. "Yeah and I am late." Kissing her neck in haze, he hurried to get ready. "Pick this up later?"
"You bet your ass."
Time jump: Firehouse
Bobby walked into the fires house, staggering at the second he was hit with a scent bomb. Taking in a deep breath, Bobby pushed back whatever he was feeling. He's noticed a few things changing in the past week.
For one his sex drive was out the roof. He was sure Athena was getting tired of him. Yesterday she went as far as staying with Hen, to avoid triggering anything. He hated it, but it helped simmer him down a bit. His last weight in was crazy low, nearly having lost half his body weight. His energy level had him running miles around the park on his morning runs. Bobby also noticed his temper had grown shorter than normal and he wasn't the only one to noticed.
Hen had stopped him from beating the crap out of their last call. Bastard was beating the hell out of his kid. Something in him snapped. It appeared as if he wasn't seeing through his eyes anymore. Everything moving in slow motion, just before Hen stopped him.
"Hey cap, sheets get stuck?" Hen teased.
Bobby smirked. "Wasn't the sheets."
"Oh, okay." Leaving it at that she headed up for breakfast. "You going to eat?"
"Who cooked?" Bobby headed up the stairs, finding Eddie at the stove. "You cooked?"
"Yeah, I figured your arm would still be banged up." Eddie plated the eggs, handing it to him.
Chimney popped up between them, snatching the second plate. "How's the arm?"
"Healed."
"You mean healing." Hen stated.
Bobby shook his head, pulling his jacket off. "Healed." Folding his sleeve up, he held his arm out.
Hen jumped from her seat, examining his arm. There wasn't anything. "How is that possible? There isn't even a scar."
"I don't know." Pulling his arm back, he took a seat at the table. "Three days after and it was healing rapidly. By the end of the month it was done. Doctor said I was just a quick healer."
"Or, or you were bit by a werewolf!" Buck was coming up the stairs, when he caught the last part of their conversation. "You feeling anything else?"
Bobby sighed. "Like what?"
Pulling out his phone, he pulled up a list he had created. "I made this list after you got bit."
Bobby glanced at the phone, laughing. "Turning into a wolf on the full moon? Biting/marking Athena? Howling at nights? Short temper, better senses." Finishing his food, he pushed past Buck. "Buck, Lycans don't exist. Therefore I am not turning into one."
"The full moon is tomorrow. Will you be staying with Athena or by yourself?" Buck asked.
Bobby knew better than to answer that truthfully. "With Athena. We have a date night, so don't you dare show up."
Time jump:
Bobby woke damped in sweat. He couldn't remember what he was dreaming about, but it wasn't the most pleasant one. Clips of the dreams shot through his mind. The forest at night. Fog covering the air around him. A smell of blood and rage, coated his senses. Shaking the cold chill running up his spine, he jumped off the bed and into the bathroom. Stripping down for a shower, he glanced at the mirror and froze. Scratch marks and bites covered his body. Dried blood around his neck and chest.
"What the hell is this?!" Running the faucet, Bobby washed the blood off. From what he could tell, it was all his. Closing his eyes, he was flashed with scenes of a fight. Growls and snarls echoed in his mind. "Get ahold of yourself Bobby!" Jumping into the shower, Bobby stood beneath the cascade of water. The once clear water, pooling red at his feet.
Today was his day off and although he wanted nothing, but to see Athena, he needed to figure this out. Pulling into the side of the road, he scanned the wooded area in front of him. He wasn't sure how he got here, but something told him it was here. Grabbing his phone, he jogged down the dirt bank. Just like driving here, Bobby allowed his instinct to guide him. It was like watching a movie all over again, same steps, same woods, same smells. The deeper he walked in, the familiar it got. Glancing to his left, he noticed claw marks scaring a tree. Walking over to it, he traced them with his finger. Looking down Bobby exhaled softly at seeing the blood. He wasn't sure how he knew, but some of it was his. Seeing the trail it made, he followed it to an opening just past the thickness of the trees. Stepping into the meadow, he kept his gaze on the trail.
Coming to the end, he fell back with a Yelp of shock. He wasn't sure what he had hoped in finding at the end, but it was not that. A wolf laid dead at his feet. It's throat had been ripped out. His skin ripped off in some places. Taking in a deep breath, he nearly choked on the smell. "It's smells like-like-"
"You."
Bobby scrambled to his feet, facing the new comer. "Who-who are you?"
The man held his hand up, showing he meant no harm. "My name is Emilian. That behind you is-was Peter." He pulled a grimace face. "What's left of him anyhow."
Bobby frowned. "P-Peter? What?"
"Listen, I know you have many questions." Emilian spoke in a soothing tone. "But here isn't the best place. Please come with me."
"Yeah, not happening." Bobby chuckled. "I am just going to call this in."
Emilian rolled his eyes. "We have the answers." That stopped Bobby. "But you must trust me. If just this once." Seeing the hesitation in the fireman, Emilian grabbed him and slammed him against a tree. Growling inches from his face.
Bobby didn't know what came over him. The moment Emilian growled at him, he replied back with a snarl. Taking the mans arm, he knocked him down to the ground. "Holy shit, what was that?"
"That wa-" He tilted his head to the right. "We need to move." Pushing Bobby off of him, he ushered him back into the woods. "Go, go, go, go!" Breaking through the trees and onto the main road, he ushered Bobby into his truck. "Drive!"
"What?!"
"Just drive!" Emilian snapped.
Doing so he sped off into the road. Slowing down once they were a good distance. "What the hell was that back there?"
"I will explain everything in a moment." Emilian pulled his phone out, making a call. "Hey, Ace and his pack are here."
'Did you get him?'
"Yeah, we are on our way."
'Good. Did Ace see you or him?'
"No, I don't think so. Have Someone head back and pick up my car. Keys are under the seat."
'Will do. Hurry.'
Hanging up the phone, he ran a hand down his face. "This wasn't suppose to happen like this."
"Like what?" Bobby demanded. "What is happening?"
"I know you are freaked out, but just wait till we get home." Emilian sighed, glancing over at Bobby. He had been keeping an eye on the captain since the wolf attack. He had come to understand what Erick saw on him, but still believed it was a mistake. This man knew nothing of their world and just like that was about to be thrown right in the middle of it. Soon to sit at the top. He just hopped Erick was right and Bobby had it in him. "Turn left."
"Here?" Bobby gestured to the old driveway into the woods. "Here."
"Yes, park the car on the side." Emilian ordered.
Bobby did what was ordered, jumping off after him. He had so many questions needing answers. But he kept his mouth shut for now. Following him down the driveway, Bobby noticed the few men standing on the sides. All eyes were on him, which was giving him a feeling of uneasiness.
Reaching the top of the driveway, he was in awe. It was a small village of sorts. You had houses, school and even a small hospital on the sides creating a circle around everything. The houses were a good ways apart from each other. The hospital looked to be two stories tall, but appeared to be empty. If the nurses loitering outside was any indication. Yet it wasn't by any means a poor housing. They looked so much like Athena's house. Looking up ahead he spotted a larger house at the end of the road. It had to be at least three stories high. But his attention was drawn to the people outside. Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at them. Many grabbing their children and pulling them to their side. Other whispered among themselves, looking back at him ever so often. He was starting to feel like a freak.
A little girl ran out from the crowd, nearly tripping him over. Bobby was quick to grab the child into his arms, preventing them both from an accident looking to happen. Once he got his footing, he placed her down. "You alright?"
She nodded, baring her neck to him. "Yes sir."
"Verena!" A middle aged woman rushed over to grab her. "Please forgive me. She is just a child sir."
Bobby frowned. "It's alright. I should have watched where I was going." Seeing a plush wolf on the floor, he kneeled down to pick it up and held it out for her. "You dropped this?" Verena nodded. "What's it's name?."
"It's Balto." She mumbled.
Bobby chuckled, handing it over to her. "Here you go." Grabbing her wolf, she was dragged off by her mother.
Emilian came to a stop beside him. "Come on."
"Yeah." Waving bye to the child, he continued on.
Emilian ushered him into one of the houses, gesturing for him to take a seat. "Drink?"
"No, thank you." Taking a seat on the couch, he gave the room a once over.
"You sure?" Emilian poured himself a glass.
"What I want is an explanation." Bobby demanded. "What is happening to me? Why did I react like that in the woods? What was that after us? What is th-"
"Woah!" Emilian chuckled. "One question at a time please."
"What is going on?" Bobby snapped.
Placing his cup on the coffee table, Emilian leaned forward. "We are shifters."
