Bakugou enters his home by banging the door close. His mother, Bakugou Mitsuki heard this loud noise and hurriedly went to check who's the culprit, and her instincts told her right. It was her damn son. With an irritated face, just like yesterday. She knew her son always looked like he's about to kill someone, but his behavior and expression seems to worsen. And as a mother, she needs to know what's up. Is it school works? Friend?
*Gasped*
Is it love?
Naaaah. With that face? No one's brave enough to put up with that.
Unless….
"Katsuki! Stop slamming the door!" She scolded him.
"Shut up, old hag! I'm not in the mood to talk."he spite back and was about to pass his mother but she grabbed his ear and yelled there with the same volume.
"You dimwit! What's wrong with you, huh? You seemed a little sour since yesterday."she urged. However, the younger blonde forced to have his ear back by pulling his mother's fingers one by one and refused to say anything.
"None of your business." He growled and turned his back on her. He was about to walk upstairs to go to his room when he was stopped by his mother's words.
"If you don't tell me, you're gonna have to cook your own dinner. Too bad, I even cooked your favorite." She shrugged, pretending to be regretful. Blackmail. She's blackmailing him. Which is working, but he damn well knows how to cook, so if she's gonna use that to make him spill out his guts, she's dead wrong. He continued his steps when she added, "You know damn well that you can't cook your favorite food the way I can and you like mine more than yours so say it, shitbag."
'This hag is getting on my last nerve.' he turned his head slightly to see his mother smirking. Already thinking that she won. But he's gonna keep his pride and she's gonna suck it up.
"Whatever. I can survive with my own cooking." He told her in which she scoffed. Totally not believing that her son shut her down and worse of all, denied her offer. Bakugou went up to his bedroom and left his grumbling mother.
He tossed his bag on the floor and hopped onto his bed, stomach first. His mood was bad enough after he left UA and now it became worse when his mother tried to meddle with his problems. He couldn't understand why she wanted to know. Even trying to lure him in with her food. He is used to solving his crisis himself and this one is easy once he settles things with that wide forehead bitch. He unconsciously gripped his sheets when the pinkette crossed his mind. He couldn't forget her eyes. That sharp emerald eyes that tends to tick something inside him which causes his brash behavior towards her. He just couldn't understand why they set him off so much.
It's annoying.
She's annoying.
Aaah, he knows why. She glares at him. She threw a shoe and food tray at him. He got a bump on his head as a souvenir. She backstabbed him with Deku and the losers. And Shitty hair seems to be interested in her. She's becoming a parasite that's about to destroy his life. But she's not gonna defeat him by just glaring, throwing things at him and even humiliating him in front of everybody because he knows he's stronger than her. He knows he can defeat her when it comes to a real battle. He's Bakugou Katsuki after all. No one's better than him. She's just a nobody that he could just simply get rid of. He just has to find an opportunity for how he could challenge her and end this once and for all. He took a deep breath to calm his head. Then a thought popped into his mind.
The UA sports festival. It's the event where all first-year students participate in order to showcase their abilities and skills for pro-heroes and the world.
That's it! He's absolutely sure that forehead will join in. She's in the heroics department. And with that level of competency, she's not gonna back down and watch as her classmates get destroyed by his own hands. He wickedly chuckled at the thought. He's going to be number 1 and no Deku or half-hot half-cold would stop him from being in that position. Especially not that pink-hair with a massive forehead.
He got up once he returned his ego and changed into his casual clothes. He was about to do his schoolworks when he was reminded of the faint smell of food. It was the food from the tray. The very same tray that a certain nobody threw at him. He tsk-ed then went to the bathroom to shower and wash it all off. Removing it means removing the remains left from a nobody.
After 10 minutes, he was out of the shower with a fresh look. Put on his discarded casual clothes again that were thankfully not affected by his previous stench. He further dried his hair with the towel and hung it around over his neck. He carried his dirty clothes in the laundry room to wash it in order for the decoction to not stain his uniform. He threw it in the washing machine, poured some detergent and watched as the spinning speeds up. He patiently waited until it's clean and free from any stain before transferring it into the dryer. Once it's done, he put it away and he was off to his room again to finish his schoolworks right before dinner.
Oh right, he's gonna cook his own food. Fuck. Now he needs to hurry so he can prepare it before bedtime. He's practically strict when it comes to his sleeping schedule. He believes that a proper sleep is one of the keys to being stronger. And he's not gonna jeopardize that just because he refused to open up to his mother.
Sakura enters the laundry area carrying her dirty uniform inside her backpack. She really hopes that it didn't stain or else she would have to ask for another set of uniform, which is troublesome and that also means she would be wearing her PE uniform for a couple of days. Maybe even a week. The pinkette took out her top and skirt to inspect how much damage that gremlin had caused. Her eye twitched when she saw the state of her only uniform. The yellowish color of the soup had spread all throughout the upper part of her shirt and blazer. She could feel the irritation growing within her. Her fingers tighten as she holds the piece of clothing. Her teeth gritted as she thought of the infuriating face of the blonde.
'That fucking gremlin. He better hope that this would not leave a permanent stain on my uniform. '
She opened the lid of the washing machine and chucked the white cloth together with the gray blazer. Next, she inspected her skirt. The rosette sighed in relief when she saw that her bottom clothing was not affected by the soup. There was no mark of decoction but the smell was present so it's best to wash it too. After putting the detergent and closing the lid, she went to the lady who's in charge of the laundry shop. Ever since she moved to this town, she's the first one who was kind enough to welcome her here.
"Good afternoon, Makio-san."She greeted her. The woman turned her head in the pinkette's direction and she smiled. Seeing her one and only pink-haired customer puts her at ease. Her mere presence is providing liveliness inside her shop. Because lots of people in this town admire her even though she seems to be oblivious about it. She's drawing lots of customers. Don't get her wrong, she's not using the pinkette, she's just amused that Sakura's that dense to not see that heads are turning whenever she passes them. She treats her as a good friend and good luck for her business.
"Good afternoon, Sakura-san." The shop owner greeted back. Makio is the lady who owns the laundry shop near her apartment. It's only a walking distance so Sakura can just walk here from her place. Plus, it's also near where she works, so after her shift she would just have to pick it up from here.
"I will leave my laundry in your care, Makio-san. I will come back for it after my shift. Is that alright?" Sakura asked. Although she's done this several times, she still contemplated on whether she should leave her own laundry to someone else. It's her responsibility, but she also has her work to do.
"Hai. Of course it's alright. Thank you so much Sakura-san."
"Eh? Nande? You have so many customers. I'm sure I didn't do much except leave my filthy clothes to you." The pinkette chuckled. See what Makio's trying to say?
"Oh, you have no idea how much of a help you are to my shop. Next time, I'll give you a discount."
"Not sure what I did, but you don't have to do that. Whatever it is, I'm glad to help." Sakura handed her 300 yen, then bowed before dashing off to her workplace. Missing the eyes that followed her out. Makio witnessed this and she would never get tired of watching her density and her other customers harmlessly admiring her in secret.
Once she arrived at her workplace, the area was already filled with people walking back and forth. Sakura walked past the reception desk when the person on duty stood up abruptly upon hearing her arrival.
"Good afternoon, Sakura-san!" It's Seiya. He's the same age as her, but they attend different schools. This is the only time when they got to see each other or the only time Seiya got the time to see Sakura. You see, he's fond of her. The moment she appeared and decided to work here. He became motivated to complete his attendance. If it only means that he could see her. The pinkette acknowledges his greeting by nodding her head at him.
"You too, Seiya-san." That's it. This is their everyday interaction. Only when such differences happen is when the young man finds courage to add something such as complimenting her or attempting to invite her on a date, but that often ends up to straight up rejection or someone would cut off his sentence.
"Sakura! Thank goodness you're finally here. There's this stubborn old man who keeps on refusing to take his medications. Ms. Yuki is having a hard time calming him down. You better get there quick." The nurse informed her in which Sakura hurriedly ran to change her clothes to her other uniform. Seiya looked like he wanted to talk to her further, but she has her duty to complete.
Yes. She works at a hospital near her apartment where she could earn money for a living. It's the only hospital in town and the expenses are cheap compared to other hospitals in a city, so lots of people go here. She knows that school should be more of a priority for her, but she didn't have a choice. She can multitask and part-timing in a hospital is no big deal because she has her skills and knowledge to rely on, as well as her colleagues.
When she enters Ms. Yuki's office, she finds her struggling with an old man who acts like a child when it's time to take his medicine. However, a child is much easier to control. The other problem is the doctor's personality. She's so passive that she couldn't even gather up the courage to defend herself. That's also why Sakura got assigned with her as an assistant because she serves as the balance and her fierce but calm attitude can make any tenacious patient to comply. The doctor and the patient sensed her appearance, they both turned to her. Ms. Yuki looked like a mess, but was relieved when she spotted Sakura. On the other hand, the old man felt shivers run down his spine when he saw the pinkette. He's scared of her, obviously, but he's still stubborn and a mere little girl would not force him to take any medicine.
Sakura sighed before closing the door behind her and walking towards the two. This is gonna take a while.
6:00 pm….
Sakura finally finished her shift. Handling patients no matter the age was easy, but the real problem comes when a few of them fight them off. Not violently. But childishly and verbally. They are here to have their physical bodies examined, after all. There's no way they would dare to raise their hands on them. Especially not when Sakura's around.
The pinkette stretched her body on her chair. Bones cracking from all the strains of sitting for hours. She loudly moaned when she felt her body get released from the tension. It sure does feel good but Sakura knows better than to relax entirely because she has a lot of schoolworks waiting for her once she comes home to her apartment. What a drag. Her moaning turned into a growl. Ms. Yuki heard it and stopped her typing on the keyboard. She has paperworks to finish before she can leave her office. Her assistant, on the other hand, can go home once she's done with her shift. She turned her head towards her moping assistant.
"Sakura-san, why don't you go home and rest? My paperworks is nowhere near their end so I will be here for a couple more hours. Thank you for today, without you I probably would not handle Tanaka-san." ms. Yuki expressed her gratitude towards the pink-haired girl.
"It's no big deal, Yuki-san. It's my job after all."the pinkette enunciated before adding, "Though you have to learn how to manage patients like that yourself. What if I'm not present here because of school?"
"Yeah you're right. I'm working on that, but then you'll lose your job. Don't want that happening, don't you?" the doctor teased.
"Yeah, guess you're right too" Sakura snickered, then they both erupt in laughter. It took them a couple of seconds to settle down when the door suddenly opened, revealing the nurse who had called Sakura earlier. She was carrying bags of plastics in her hands.
"Sup, girls. Been a restless day, huh? I brought some dinner!" she said before closing the door and handing them the goods. Sakura could smell the scent of food and her mouth started to water, but she held her excitement. She doesn't want to admit it, but she doesn't have the skill to cook her own meal. That's why the smell of food affects her so much. Except spicy food. She's not fond of anything spicy. She preferred sweets.
Sakura took it from the bag and sniffed it. She could smell chicken. The nurse sat on one of the chairs in front of Dr. Yuki's office table and started to arrange her own dinner on it. The pinkette did the same while Dr. Yuki stayed on her office chair. The three eat in peace. Exchanging words every now and then, but it's mostly the doctor and the nurse who are talking whilst Sakura only listens as she eats. It's not like she could share her life with them. It's too complicated and she doesn't want to talk about it either. It's better off in her memory and not to engrave it into someone else's.
After finishing their meal, Sakura said her goodbye to her colleagues and went to change back into her PE uniform. Then she began her walk towards the exit of the hospital but was stopped by Seiya who ran in front of her, stopping her tracks. The rosette doesn't want to be rude so she waited for him to say something. The boy fidgets and there's a clear blush tinted on his face. She hopes this is not one of his date invitations because she really doesn't have the time for that. She has too many responsibilities and goals. Getting a boyfriend was not one of them.
"S-Sakura-san…" he started, he's called her but his eyes are darting everywhere except in her way. He is much too shy to her liking and her patience is running out so if he doesn't man up, she will. Cut her some slack. She barely got out from a blonde freak and all she needs right now is to go home, do her homeworks and sleep. But she's not that harsh to lash out her inner turmoil to him, so she waited.
"I just wanted to say, good work! And see you tomorrow!" he finally blurted out after a few seconds of the clock ticking. Sakura's brows knitted in confusion. How could he possibly know that? She was inside Dr. Yuki's office the whole time. Maybe he's just guessing? Seiya noticed her expression and immediately explained himself.
"N-no! It's not that I'm peeking inside your office…" he rambled, then scratched his cheek with his index finger as his eyes darted down, "I just memorize the faces of every person that walked in and out of the office. Their expression is a dead giveaway of your work and I saw none of them went out with a sullen look so I assumed you did well….as always." he muttered the last words in which she still heard.
'Oh. So that was it.' Now she feels terrible for thinking it the wrong way.
"Don't you think it's a little disrespectful to not give Dr. Yuki credits, considering that she was with me during those times?" Sakura tried teasing him, but her monotone voice failed her. This remark made Seiya more fidgety, and he started to ramble words that became inaudible to her ears. She chuckled at his behavior and helped him out of his misery.
"Calm down, Seiya. I was just teasing. Thank you and you too. Good job today." she said then she said her farewell and continued her exit. Seiya yelled some words to her before her disappearance such as 'tomorrow' and 'goodluck'. The pinkette just smiled and shook her head. The cold night made her put her hands in her pockets as she strolled the streets on her way home.
Once she reached her apartment that was just a few minutes away from her workplace, she inspected the state of her home. Everything's out of place, actually. Boxes were piled up beside her entryway because she just moved in here a month or two and she didn't have enough time to organize her stuffs. Furthermore, she doesn't have that much either, to be honest. She's too busy for shopping, even on weekends. What she did arrange was her living room, bedroom and bathroom, for these are the only places she's capable of functioning. The kitchen was for her washing the plates and glasses whenever she ordered take outs. It didn't bother her much that she's not a cook, but now she's starting to envy those people who are capable of producing their own meal everyday. She placed her freshly washed uniform on her sofa and sloppily sat beside it and hung her head loosely backwards, closing her eyes. She thinks about the events from earlier. Mostly about school. This is the second time that she visits the principal's office and it's bearable if it has an interval of days or weeks but no. It was the day after her first visit.
She palms her face and dragged her hands down to her chin. A blonde flashes in her mind, wearing that maddening expression of his. He makes her blood boil but she hides her feelings well. Not her actions, though. All of this started ever since he shoved her face with his sweaty hands. Sakura couldn't understand him. Really. Why he did those things. Even tricked her. It's only fair for her to defend herself and not be degraded by a guy like him. Arrogant and hotheaded. She bets he's stupid. A birdbrain. No. She highly suspects that he has no brain at all. With the way he acts towards his friends and her, she's pretty confident that he's all about brawn and no brain.
When she's done with her overthinking, she stood up and strolled to her bedroom, changed into pyjamas, washed her face in the bathroom that's connected to her room and brushed her teeth. Before going to sleep, she first brought out her homeworks from her backpack. Pile them on one side of her study table and begin to do them one by one. She's truly grateful that Kami gifted her both brain and brawn—-that made her snort. Or else she wouldn't be able to survive this world on her own. Sakura's content with the way her life is going, not until someone breaks in and disturbs her peace. Seriously, she was just trying to get by. She just hopes that a certain blonde freak would give up and leave her alone, otherwise she will have to put him in his place once and for all.
Another day, another suffering. Sakura hurried towards the train station, praying that she did not miss her ride considering that she slept late last night and her work took a toll on her. Don't get her wrong, she's not complaining. She loves her work but sometimes, it could be a little overwhelming for her body to keep up. But then again, she must work in order to survive. By the time she arrived at her school, she took a moment to catch her breath and admire UA. It's really fascinating that she was able to attend this school thanks to her abilities. And connections. It's an academy made for aspiring heroes that produced pro-heroes that everyone admires up until today. And she is not going to waste the opportunity given to her to study here.
She was about to walk inside the building to her classroom when someone called out her name.
"Sakuraaaa!" Then she was hugged from behind. She took this moment to tilt her head to see the owner of the voice and an orange head blocked out her view. It's Kendo. Lively than ever. She released the pinkette, and she turned to her fully.
"Kendo. Ohayo." she addressed her, giving her a gentle smile. The girl greeted back, and they went off together inside the building while Kendo told her about a certain red-head that asked for her number. This made Sakura confused for a few seconds but then remembered their encounter on the train yesterday and smirked. The guy was a mess. Grappling with words that she couldn't understand. It's fun seeing people panic and also knowing she had caused that. She felt in control. Though she still couldn't see the reason why he needed to call her, not that he's able to. She gave up on using phone a long time ago. It only brought her chaos.
They have reached their room by the time mr. Vlad was about to enter, and he waited for the two of them to get in before himself. Then class started.
Lunch time.
All students gathered up at the cafeteria to buy their own meal at a cheap price and good quality food. Students such as class 1-A, wherein they were all sitting on their respective tables and enjoying their lunch. They're supposed to enjoy it. However, one student was not having it. How could he enjoy such a delicious meal when he could spot the figure of the subject of his irritation? Seeing her makes the food go bad. Ruining its quality. It's bad enough that his dinner last night was not as good as his mother's and now his lunch was also spoiled because a pink-haired girl chose to invade his vision.
"C'mon dude. She's not doing anything. Why waste your time glaring at her when you're supposed to enjoy your meal and she's all the way there." Sero tried to emphasize his point as he pointed to her location.
"She's in my line of vision!" Bakugou yelled at his classmate, the same time he broke his chopsticks.
"And she's in the line of the cafeteria to buy her lunch! You chose to sit there, so it's only natural that you will see her. You're facing the area where the students line up to order their food for Kami's sake!" his raven-haired friend barked back. Kaminari just sweatdropped as he watched the scene unfold before him.
"Shut it!" the blonde's only remark before grabbing another chopstick and resuming his meal furiously. Sero sighed and did the same, although calmly.
There's only the four of them at the table because Mina is with the girls. Kirishima, despite the fact that he's with them, was silent the whole time. He was thinking of the right time to talk to Sakura and finally fix their misunderstanding. And he cannot do that while Bakugou and the others are present. He was pulled back to earth when Kaminari called him.
"Oi, Kirishima. You alright? You've been a little too quiet since the minute we came here." the young man stated. His question captured the attention of Sero and Bakugou. Though he's not looking, he's still listening. But he has no idea.
"Yeah" the red-head scratched his head, not convincing them. "I just had a lot on my mind lately. Don't worry about it."
"You sure?" Sero urged and Kirishima was about to reassure them when, instinctively, he felt someone was watching him from afar, causing him to dart his eyes away from his friends and they landed on a unique pair of orbs.
Sakura is watching him. She didn't even flinch or blinked when he caught her staring. She didn't show any guilt. When they had finally locked eyes, she suddenly made a gesture with her hands, pointing to Bakugou and him, then shaping her fingers into a heart, then made a thumbs up before winking and turning away again, back to her previous position. It's funny that as she did that, her expression remained the same, blank.
'Oh no….'
This exhibition of hers was not neglected by his friends, especially not Bakugou. He saw every bit of their little interaction. And now he's glaring daggers at him. If looks could kill, he would probably drop dead here, right now.
"Oi oi oi. Don't you dare think I didn't see that." he growled, dropping his chopsticks and slowly rising up from his seat. Sero and Kaminari prepare themselves to stop him if he tries to attack the poor Kirishima. The man was terrified enough.
"What was that all about, huh? What the fuck was that?! Since when did you and that forehead get all goody-goody?!" He grabbed his collar, " Was I right? Did you finally have the balls to approach her and now you're dating her? Is that it, shitty hair?" his crazy claim had shocked Sero and Kaminari. They flicked their heads towards Kirishima while holding Bakugou down. Their faces searching for clarification.
"Is that true, Kirishima?" Kaminari asked. The red-head frantically flutters his arms in the air.
"No! Absolutely not!" He's beginning to sweat heavily while trying to explain himself and Sakura, "I-I was-Bakugou, she was on the train with us and after you left w-we kinda talk. That's all."
"Bullshit" the blonde spat.
"It's true! She was-u-umm"
"Then how do you explain her little show a few seconds ago, huh?" He further interrogated the poor guy. But he's calming down a bit. The two don't even have to use much force to back him down.
"S-she was uh-wants to… Meet me after school," this wasn't helping at all. Their eyebrows are pursing even more and becoming more skeptical. Kirishima has to think of something, "b-because I borrowed her notebook with a h-heart shape on it and she wants it back s-so….after school… Yeah." He explained with a strain smile while repeating Sakura's gesture earlier. He really hopes they'll take the excuse. He's sweating bullets.

"Seems legit, with all the hand gestures and all. I believe him HAHAHAHHA" Kaminari let go of Bakugou and Sero followed. They all settled back to their seats.
"Don't be paranoid, Bakugou. It's not all about you, you know." He taunted him. Kirishima took a deep breath and released a long sigh out of relief.
"Y-yeah, Sakura's just teasing me" this earned him their eyes again. Oh fuck.
"Woah. First name basis already? Damn dude! That really must be an interesting talk." Sero rubbed his chin, a knowing look on his face.
"You beat me to it, man. Was she fun to talk with?" Kaminari's getting excited. He's the one who shows a clear fascination towards the pinkette since the beginning of Bakugou and her clash. If he would invite her to a date, might as well get information from her contacts. Kirishima's only reply was a nod of his head. If they ask for more, he might reveal things that he wants to hide. For the time being.
The bright blonde was not content with his response and wanted to know more, but before he opened his mouth, the quick-tempered blonde beat him to it.
"Didn't know she was the 'fun' type." He started, putting his chin on his palm, then took another glance at the oblivious girl, "She looks more like a stuck-up bitch." He added, scoffing as he watches her carry her tray to a table nearby. What's so fun about her?
Sero, Kaminari and Kirishima stare at the blonde. Their eyes narrowing and eyebrows pursing in confusion and curiosity with regards to their friend's behavior. His mouth might be spouting curses, but his eyes are telling something different. They just couldn't come to a conclusion yet…
"And you look like you want to approach her and know for yourself how fun she could be." The raven-haired baited, satisfied when Bakugou glowers at him and gritting his teeth in annoyance. His grip on his tray tightening, urging him to chuck it on his stupid face. But it's a waste of food.
"Cut the crap, flat face! I'll kill you!" Bakugou barked, but Sero was unbothered by his outburst and just shrugged. Completely used to his tantrums every now and then. The blonde continued to devour his lunch, distracting himself from the presence of a certain pink-haired girl sitting across from them, eating her own meal. Unaware of the fight between friends that she had almost caused. On the other hand, Kirishima was relieved that the attention reverted back to Bakugou because who knows what he might say if they interrogate him further. Just a little more tug and the cat's out of the bag.
Sakura sat in class, listening to every word that's coming out from mr. Vlad's mouth. When it comes to class, she is very attentive because learning is almost like her second nature. She loves discovering new things, searching for answers that could mostly be found in schools. Or at the public library and the internet. But having someone explain about a certain phenomenon to you is much more easier and she could just add some information by raising her hand. Her teachers appreciate her being active in class and her participation saves some of her classmates who couldn't answer a rather complicated question or problem. In other terms, she's their saviour. Not that they're stupid or anything, some questions were just too hard to answer.
Before ending the class, mr. Vlad reminds them of the upcoming UA sports festival that is gonna take place less than two weeks from now. Each student must prepare and train themselves if they want to accomplish being chosen by pro-heroes. Especially first-year students. This is their first time and opportunity to demonstrate their quirks. Moreover, getting an internship is important because you'll actually be working with pro-heroes in the fields. It's a chance of a lifetime.
Class-B roared in excitement and mr. Vlad dismissed them after giving an encouraging speech and bolting out of the room towards the faculty. They all stood up to clean up their desk, putting their notebooks inside their bags and preparing to go home. Some were still chatting about the sports festival and how they're gonna show their awesome quirks to everyone. Some are scared. And some are oozing with confidence.
Sakura remains firmly in her seat. Processing the follow-up announcement of their sensei. She observes as her classmates celebrate the impending festival like they've won already. She wanted to share their excitement. She wanted to feel the jittering feeling of battling with her schoolmates, then ending up winning or losing. At that moment, she doesn't really care about either winning or losing. She turned her head away from them and looked down at her hands leaning on her desk. There's this irking feeling inside her and stacked up questions in her head that's searching for answers.
Kendo took notice of her silence and addressed her friend. She stepped towards her and placed a hand on her desk, catching her attention. Sakura was drawn out of her thoughts, looked up and saw her friend, a worried expression visible on her features.
"Are you okay, Sakura? Is something bothering you?" she urged. Sakura contemplated on whether she should tell her or not. Eventually, she gave her friend a small smile and shook her head, silently telling her that nothing's wrong and she should stop worrying. But Kendo did not believe her. She sighed and pulled out a chair behind her, placed it beside Sakura's desk, sat on it and gave the pinkette a look that tells I-am-not-going-anywhere-until-you-tell-me-what's-going-on. Sakura stares at her before releasing a lofty sigh, a sign of giving up.
"It's not that there's something wrong or whatever. I just-well…This is just out of curiosity.. And I forgot to ask you this before…"she started and then looked away, still having second thoughts but she will never know if she doesn't ask it right now, "The sports festival…"
"Is it gonna be a live broadcast nationwide?"

"Huh?" Kendo raised an eyebrow. After processing her question, she explodes in a fit of laughter. Sakura watched and waited for her to calm down. Her face may be absent of any emotion, but she's actually dying inside because of embarrassment. After a couple of seconds of laughing, the orange-haired girl wiped a tear on her eye. There's still some snickers left from her but she's ready to answer her question.
"Ha ha ha—Wow. Now I'm reconsidering to use all my savings to buy you a phone. You know, to keep you updated about our changing world? Do you even know about Hawks break up with his girlfriend?"
'I don't even care about whoever that hawks is. ' Sakura's eye twitched in aggravation.
"You gonna answer me or what? If not, I'm leaving." Sakura grabbed her backpack and was about to walk out of this situation, but Kendo caught her wrist and pulled her down to her seat again.
"Okay, okay–ha ha ha." The pinkette waited once again, but she's becoming annoyed every passing second.
"Of course it's gonna be a live broadcast nationwide. Or else how are the pro-heroes supposed to recruit each of us for an internship? They are all going to watch. Even the civilians for entertainment purposes." she finally responded in a not mocking tone before leaning back to watch her friend in amusement. She just couldn't believe that Sakura's scared of something. Particularly, fighting with an audience and here she thought that she's used to that kind of attention since she seemed fine when confronting the arrogant blonde from class A. She shouldn't be afraid. With that answer, the pinkette clenched her teeth. Her mind is dwelling on something.
A moment of silence has passed between the two of them. The rest of their classmates are walking out of the room one by one. But Kendo's going home together with Sakura so she just waited for her to say something. However, her amusement turned into concern. Her friend remained silent for a few seconds and it's starting to worry her.
'Is she really that scared?'
Kendo pursed her eyebrows. Fed up by her silence, she grasped Sakura's hand to pull her out of her own world and she succeeded.
"Hey. You don't have to be scared. I know you're strong enough to win some pro-heroes' hearts. Heck, you beat the shit out of that explosive guy from class A! So there's no need for you to be—"
"I'm not scared." She cut her off with the firmness of her voice. "I can beat all of them." Sakura added with strong conviction. Kendo blinked. Totally caught off guard by her. Okay, she's totally confused now. Then why did she have that expression, like she's scared of something?
'Nevermind. What's more important is that she's fine and still has that fierceness within her. That's what I admire most about her.' Kendo smiled to herself. Plus, someone like her could finally show someone what she's really capable of. Her confidence grows, knowing that Sakura's with them. Not to boast or anything but, she's the pride of their class and the pinkette doesn't even know it.
"Well that's great! All of us are gonna show them how awesome we—"
"No." The orange-haired girl pursed her eyebrows even further, her excitement and pride got replaced by confusion once more. Frankly, sometimes Sakura can be hard to understand and she's the one left behind, struggling to decipher her thoughts and behavior.
"Eh? What do you mean?"
Sakura flicked up her head and looked straight into Kendo's eyes. Her emerald green orbs boring through her teal eyes sharply before responding.
