(A/N : This Story takes place after the last episode of the TV show)

It was a rainy summer afternoon in Gotham City and at the office of Police Commissioner James Gordon his Niece Emery Gordon was crying her eyes out.

"Let it out Em , everything will be okay " Barbra Gordon said as she held her weeping cousin

"h-how is e-everything g-going t-to o-okay Barb I just lost my parents I'm an Orphan , I'm alone" Emery said before she started to cry harder.

"Listen to me Em you are not alone you have me , Uncle James , and Aunt Mary we all love you Sweetie" Barbra said in a reassuring tone

Emery eventually stopped crying with a sniffle , wiped her eyes , and hugged her cousin , Barbra decided to take in her Cousin as her ward, she also made the decision to tell Emery about her double life as Batgirl .

"Em do you Promise not to tell anyone about this even Uncle James" Barbra said in a serious tone after she showed Emery her Batgirl gear

"I promise Barb, could I please be your sidekick I mean Batman has Robin so , doesn't Batgirl need a sidekick " ? Emery asked her cousin with a smile

" Say that's not a bad idea Em what will you call yourself" Barbra asked in a curious tone.

"Blue-jay" Emery replied with a smile

Two weeks later , Woodrow Roosevelt High school...

"Class we have a new student joining our class today Miss Emery Gordon , Miss Gordon you can take a seat to Mr. Grayson in front " The Home room teacher Mr. Henderson said before he started the lesson.

Emery took a seat next to Dick who smiled at her she smiled a small smile back at him , when the bell rang for the next class everyone cleared out of the classroom except for Emery and Dick.

"Excuse me Miss Gordon do you need help finding your next class"? Dick asked Emery in a kind tone.

"Uh yes and please call me Emery Miss Gordon is my Cousin " Emery joked with a slight smile as she handed Dick her class schedule .

"Gosh you're funny Emery and please call me Richard , hey we have all our classes together groovy" Dick said with a smile as he and Emery left homeroom together .

The rest of the day Dick and Emery were inseparable and Dick helped Emery to come out of her shell when the bell rang to signal the end of school Dick and Emery went to entrance of the school where students were waiting to get picked up.

"Well Dick this is where I say Adieu, I'm going take the bus the Gotham City Library so, I can meet up with Barbra Emery said with a full smile using Richards nickname that he told her that she could use earlier in the day .

Before Emery could walk to the bus stop Bruce Wayne's Limo pulled up to the curb Alfred then got out and opened for Dick .

"Bruce could we please give my new friend Emery Gordon a ride to Gotham City Library " Dick asked his Guardian in a hopeful tone because he honestly didn't want to part ways with Emery quite yet.

"Sure Dick I don't see why not" Bruce replied

" Gosh Thanks a billion Bruce" Dick said as he and Emery entered the Limo and buckled up

"Yes thank you Mr. Wayne , I just moved to Gotham a couple of weeks ago from Metropolis and I don't know my way around town yet" Emery said in a grateful tone.

"You're quite welcome Miss Gordon any friend of my young ward is a friend of mine , would you like to call your cousin Barbra so she won't worry" Bruce said with a smile .

"That's a good idea Mr. Wayne" Emery said before she used the Limo's telephone to call her cousin at the Gotham city library.

When they arrived at the Library Emery got out the Limo with Dick's help , she hugged him and went up the stairs to the Library .Dick then got back into the Limo with a love struck smile on his face
