As he promised, Daniel is taking Killua shopping to buy clothes so he isn't being forced to wear his tight clothes.
A\N: Vastorie is introduced in this chapter.
A man in a tight-fitted suit waltzed through a ravaged part of the forest, the fire from the wreckage charring what was once considered a beautiful sight. It'll take years for the area to regrow back into its once beautiful state.
But he wasn't here about that… he was here because of the unidentified wreckage, found burning in the forest.
Flashing his card at the security on standby, he was let onto the site with ease, his partner, or rather as he likes to joke about, his observer joining not that far behind him. There were a few remaining workers still collecting evidence, some with their cameras out, taking snapshots of the remainder of the wreckage still needing to be catalogued.
Walking past one of these people, he swiped a pair of disposable gloves, earning the ire of one of the workers, stopping by a piece of the wreckage. Putting the gloves on with a snap, he slid them over a piece of the wreckage, wiping away some of the ash.
He frowned, This ain't good…
"So, what did you learn, Mr glove stealer…?"
"Other than the fact you chucked a hissy fit at a Superior Officer…" The man taunted back, eyes glancing between the now nervous worker and his superior observer "A lot…" He knocked the back of his hand against the metal, listening to the hollowness of the metal.
"Ignore the joker here… he won't report you for your sass." The observer remarked on the issue, "In fact, he likes being sassed."
"Well, when you work with someone who has the personality of dry wood… anything is better." He casually remarked, causing the previous worker to noticeably relax, "So, thanks for ruining it, Keltier."
"You're welcome, Vastorie…" Keltier spoke in a dry tone, eyes glancing over to the others.
"Wait, this is the Vastorie…" The rookie looked at the man in shock. Supposedly, he was supposed to look like some kind of freakish accident, not a slightly attractive man.
"In the flesh and suit."
"I heard rumours of the man, but I was kinda expecting you to look… different."
"I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or insult." The man retorted with a smirk, "Anyways, going by sound and texture, this is Edurite… which isn't good news. It's Valiskarian… possibly belonging to a transport ship, maybe even from a warship."
Keltier sighed, "Can you at least give us some good news." The man clicked at the other beside them, "What did we find?"
The rookie pulled out his current report, reading off a list of things found on the site "Well, no bodies… but drag marks were leading out from the site. Also, we discovered footprints leading in and out, belonging to a single person. Shoe size around eight, maybe nine. We're yet to receive a proper report. Other than that, we found blood drips leading out, but given how dense the forest was, and the inconsistency of the drips, we're unable to identify if the creature survived or not… There is a car parking spot not that far from here, but no drops of blood were found, but the problem could be due to the high consistency of traffic this place receives, it's possible, that the blood was buried in the dirt. The other is… it'll be impossible to determine which car belongs to which tire track."
"Any Drones reported they shot down an unidentified craft?" Vastorie asked, eyes still glued to the wreckage.
"There were no reports of anything being shot down, but the wreckage was definitely, reported entering the atmosphere. What do you think?"
"Given what we know so far… two people were at this site. Now, whether one of them was just a person on a hike, or another was an Alien that got shot away from the main part of the wreckage, coming back to recollect their ally or friend… that's to be determined. However, given that this is a Valiskarian ship, transport, possibly a warship and the Alien is still alive… we're in deep trouble. We need to find them before they cause any damage… They're a threat!"
"~"
Killua sucked on a Vanilla slurpy; hand now pressed against their head. It felt like their skull was freezing, but the drink was nice and refreshing.
Daniel looked on with amusement "Brain freeze?"
"What is that?"
"Happens when you slurp on an ice-cold drink too fast. Let the feeling pass, then drink slower…"
Killua frowned at the man, allowing the straw to fall out of their mouth. They waited a few minutes for the feeling to pass, the chilling pain eventually subsiding. This time, they opted to drink slower, "Thanks for the warning…"
Daniel shrugged with a smirk, "I gotta find my amusement somehow. So how is it?"
"It's… nice, refreshing." With a loud slurp, the Alien pointed at a rack of shirts, "So how do we determine my size?"
"Other than trying it on… we guess. I'm medium, sometimes large… depending on where it's made. I'd say you're medium-tall… which we won't find. So, large… maybe XL… let's see how we go. How do my underwear fit you?"
"They're tight…"
"Hmm… you'd probably want something loose on you. Boxers?" Daniel led them to the wall with underwear, grabbing a single design for them to look at "Like this?"
Killua looked from the underwear to the man, then back to the underwear before pointing at Daniel with the drink "Over my dead body… Isn't there, something studier? The thing looks like I can rip it in half before I get it on."
"How about…" The man grabbed a pair of long trunks, showing them off "Feel how soft it is."
After feeling the material, they would agree. It'll feel nice on their skin "I agree… a different colour scheme?"
Daniel rolled his eyes, putting it back to grab a few pairs of different colours and prints. From the group, they picked a few, the man putting the ones they picked in the trolley. Killua now had a few pairs of underwear for themselves to wear, rather than trying to fit into Daniel's.
The man was thankful, although, he will feel weird wearing them again, even after washing them… To him, his alien friend was still a stranger, one he would consider a friend… but not a partner. If Killua were his partner, different story… he'll carry on wearing them like it didn't matter at all.
The man shifted his attention elsewhere, not wanting his mind to linger on the thought.
The two continued, this time stopping at pants. Killua looked through the designs, not liking many of them. But after a few minutes, they managed to get a couple of pairs. A pair of jeans, a few khakis, some long shorts and a few tracksuit pants.
Going back, they, this time looked at the shirts… Killua managed to pick a selection before picking up one with mild amusement "What is this supposed to be?" It had a picture of a small green humanoid on it, which only made him raise an eyebrow.
"It's an alien…"
Killua looked back at Daniel, "A joke?"
"No, not really…" Daniel smirked, "Doesn't it look like one of your siblings?"
"If drawn by a terrible artist, certainly…"
Daniel burst into laughter, the alien putting down the alien shirt. They picked up a few different styles of shirts, the two once more moving on. Killua found themselves stopping at a display rack, grabbing a pair of glasses to put them on.
They pulled it off, shocked from having their vision is blurred by the glasses.
"That, my friend… was glasses."
"They made me blind."
"Well, you did go for the ones, for the people with the worst vision." He found himself chuckling, "but it looked good on you. Very stylish." Daniel moved around the display, grabbing a pair of sunglasses with the least modification to the prescription.
Slipping them on Killua's face, he watched his friend look at him confused "What you do that for?"
"I think it makes you look cool."
Killua looked at the mirror next to the display, tilting slightly to see all angles of their glasses "It looks meh."
Daniel plucked it off the alien's face, "Well I feel like it adds to your attractiveness."
"Are you flirting with me?" Killua looked the man up and down.
"No, I'm more pointing something out… If I was flirting, you wouldn't need to ask. Cause I would be asking you out… not the other way around. You'd be considered waaaay out of my league…"
"Your mannerisms are weird… where I'm from, there are no limitations to that."
"You said that previously… but can anyone walk up to you, and hit on you."
"Certainly!"
"Hmm…" Daniel looked back towards Killua, arms crossed "Another Dom?"
"Dom?"
"Short for master."
"Certainly."
"Yet, there would be no judgements from others?"
"Well, certainly-"
"That's the point I'm trying to get across. You would be considered 10, possibly 9. I'm like… a 7 on my best day. I'd be way out of your league. People will look at me, thinking how did I land you."
"Would you even care? I certainly wouldn't… besides, I would consider you a 10." Killua retorted back. Why would Daniel even bring this kind of conversation up? He said they weren't dating, yet he was bringing up the conversation like they were… it's weird.
Daniel smiled, "Do you even know what that means?"
"No…"
"It's what we'd dub as the attractive scale. Basically, you called me really, damn hot. Seven is considered above average, slightly hot. So, thank you for the compliment… also, as flirty and sweet as that was, I barely know you. My pants are still off-limits."
Killua turned away, "Well my pants are open for service." They stated with a wide grin.
Daniel only looked at them, pointing a single finger out "Stop with the flirting. I mean it… we have boundaries here, and no means no."
Killua pouted, "Byt you're the one who keeps bringing it up. This conversation started because you called me attractive…"
The man sighed in defeat. Killua was right, he does keep bringing it up… but he doesn't understand why he does. He needs to stop sending his friend mixed signals, "Okay… I'll stop. So you can stop with the Puppy dog eyes…"
Killua shook his head, now more than confused than earlier. What was he doing, that made Daniel believe he was making puppy dog eyes "What eyes?"
"It's an expression here. Means you were giving me this adorable face after shooting you down."
"You did it again. You say so many strange things."
"I said adorable, not attractive… there's a difference. There are plenty more strange idioms, where that came from." The man argued with a smile, contemplating his internal struggle.
On one hand, Daniel likes when Killua hits on him… as different as their biology is to his, he can see a sort of appeal to it. The main problem is he just got out of a relationship and he wasn't ready to explore any new avenues right now.
But Killua was making it really, damn hard to resist them.
Setting aside the fact they just met them, including the strange feeling he sometimes gets around them, he could see a fling or two, happening.
But first, he needs to somehow help his new alien friend assimilate into human culture, "Alright, I think we're mostly done. A few toiletries… toothbrush, shampoo and conditioner and we should be good to go."
"Toothbrush?"
Daniel clutched his chest, Killua could be downright adorable when he's confused, "Yes… a toothbrush. I'll explain all of this when we get back."
"Alright…"
"~"
Getting the last remaining few items were difficult, given that now that Killua was given the choice to choose, they were being picky. The number of shampoo bottles Killua smelt; the man was surprised they didn't get high off of something random… or obscure.
After going through so many, he was genuinely surprised Killua went with the strawberry scented shampoo and not the chocolate, given that the alien had already become addicted to chocolate… and it's only been day three, since landing on earth.
The same was said for the body wash, as chocolate was passed over for the vanilla scented one. Maybe he just liked to eat it, not smell it.
Luckily, Killua wasn't picky with the toothbrush, they settled for a generic one, something he could see himself going for. As for the other things like extra handwash, it was left to his discretion. Killua didn't seem to mind what they washed their hands with…
Only what went on their body when they showered. Was it something he was doing, that made the alien react that way? They might be associating their smell, with something negative…
That much had to be certain…
He guesses he could ask later, but they may take it more as an insult, rather than an inquisitive question, of concern.
With all the shopping out of the way, Daniel needed to make a short pitstop at the toilet "Hey, can you wait here for a second… actually, make that a few minutes. Just going to head to the toilet, unless you need to go?"
Killua was even more confused, "Is it bad?"
"We probably should've had this talk earlier… since it's been three days, and I'm now starting to get worried for you?" Now that he thinks about it… Killua had never once gone to the toilet. Does his species not have to shit or piss, to expel waste from their body?
If their interest wasn't piqued before, it was now "What exactly are you worried about?"
"Do you not need to relieve yourself?"
"From what… exactly?"
"Bodily waste?"
Killua's jaw dropped, mortified at the question "Of course I do… I do it once, every day… at least."
"Oh, thank God…" Daniel felt relieved "I was getting worried about you because you never seemed to go. Anyways, gotta go pee. Be right back."
Killua looked at the man running towards what they assumed were the toilets, waiting there for the man to get back. What exactly was peeing? Was it what they needed to do every night after eating too much chocolate?
If that's the case… was what they did in the shower, the same thing as Daniel was about to do?
Human etiquettes… was such a weird concept, when compared to Valiskarians. Daniel said he doesn't want to be flirted with… yet he was about to pee, with a bunch of strangers.
Humans are weird… Killua thought to himself, not noticing a stranger approaching him.
"Wow, you're super pretty."
Killua's eyes glanced up, meeting eye-to-eye with honey-glazed caramel eyes. Do random strangers do that with others? "Ahh… thanks?"
The person tilted their head slightly and offered a smile, that would blind anyone even in darkness, "Sorry, did I make you feel awkward? It's just… you shocked me. Never expected to run by someone super pretty, especially someone who's standing there, looking like a model."
"You don't look bad yourself…" Killua returned the kindness. So, this is what it feels like to be hit on by a human?
"You must be new around here, I'm Gon… Gon Freecss." He offered a hand, the stranger giving it a firm shake.
"Killua… I actually, moved here recently. I am, uh… staying with a friend for the moment."
"That's cool, so what do you do for a living?"
"I um… do… stuff?"
"What kind of stuff?" Gon was now intrigued, unaware of the figure in front of him starting to panic due to his lack of reaction.
Where's that guy when you need him?
"~"
Daniel walked out of the bathroom, whistling as he slowly approached Killua, only to notice someone talking to them. At first, he was going to hang back and see how his alien friend goes… that was until he recognised who, Killua was talking to. Oh, shit!
"Hey, Killua, and whoa… small world. What you doing around here."
"Oh, Daniel? You know Killua?" Gon turned to his friend, surprised to see shock, rather than a friendly smile.
"Oh, yeah… we recently rekindled, as friends. We were… friends during primary school."
"Oh, wow…" Gon gave a smile to the other, "It is a small world… why didn't you tell me you were friends with this Greek model?"
Killua raised an eyebrow. Greek model…?
Crossing his arms, Daniel looked his friend in the eye "Because I knew you'll immediately hit on them. Oh, and believe me… I was just as shocked to see them the first time as you were. So, Gon… please… don't invite them to an orgy with your partners… they just arrived here. I'm letting them stay at my house to get… accustomed to life here."
"Oh, where did you move from Killua?"
"They moved from Padokea…" Daniel quickly muttered, going for the place where he could most likely see Killua coming from. When his alien friend gave him a sideways glance, he pressed on, hoping to rectify some of their questions later "I was helping them do some shopping, going around and trying some local cuisine… being a good host."
"Oh, well that's nice of you. I was out for a run when I saw Killua… I kid you not, it was a complete shock for me. You better sink your hands into that, or someone else will…"
Daniel awkwardly chuckled, "Nah… you know what happened. I'm not in the mood to date anyone right now."
"Yeah… Iason told me." Gon brought a hand up, grabbing hold of his friend's shoulder "I'm sorry it ended up like that… especially after, you know. I thought you might have-"
"I'm aware… I was the one dating him. Anyways, nice meeting you… we gotta bounce."
"Oh, okay." He removed his hand, offering a sincere smile, "Well, if you need someone to talk to, my ears are always open for my friends."
"Thank you, you're kind…" Daniel was gently pushing Killua, the other starting to walk away.
"Well, if you don't snag Killua… I will."
"No…" Daniel pointed a finger at Gon, a wide smirk gracing his features "I'm not letting you hit on any more of my friends. You already snagged one of them. That's enough."
Gon chuckled at his friend "It was nice meeting you and see you later Daniel. We need to have a movie night again the all of us."
"I'll think about it…" He quickly waved the other off, pushing Killua ahead of him.
"Padokea…?" Killua asked.
"First place I could think of… sorry, for that. That's my weird friend. He's sweet and kind… but damn it, he sometimes thinks with his dick when he sees attractive people. Not realising that some people don't like being in polyamorous relationships."
"Yeah…" Killua looked over his shoulder, seeing Gon already back on his run "Very attractive though. He even called me a Greek Statute… whatever that means."
"It's our way of saying super attractive. But he's the guy I warned you about…"
"I wouldn't mind… we're not so different where we come from."
"I'd advise you against that, look…" The man sighed, stopping for a moment. When Killua looked at him confused "If you were any other guy, I'd say you're in great hands. He knows how to make anyone feel special. His partners are also lovely people… but the moment he sees it, he'll know something isn't right. That's what I'm worried about… him finding out you're not… you know…"
"I understand."
"No, it's a little more than that. He'll be gung-ho and excited to try out something exotic but, I also want you to be safe… protected. I don't know how he'll react, but if there's an off chance he screams out in shock, I wouldn't want to put you in that sort of danger… one day we'll tell him. One, as long as you're comfortable with him knowing and two, the threat of danger is non-existent. Alright…?"
"So…" Killua pointed a thumb in the direction of Gon, "You're okay if I hit on that, as long as I'm doing so safely."
"Sure…" Daniel rolled his eyes, "He is a top though, so expect to be biting a pillow."
Killua raised an eyebrow, "I'm sorry… what?"
"I'll explain it in the car. Let's just get back to my place so we can talk in private."
