Wilbur turned around aiming the gun at the door. More like where he heard the sound of a door being shut. The room was pitch black, so he couldn't exactly see what he was looking at. There was a smacking noise coming from Tommy as he hit his flashlight trying to get it to turn back on. His attempt succeeded.
The light flickered on, still slightly dimmed, revealing a ghost wearing a white button dress shirt, red tie and a black button-down vest. There was a golden mask with black and white circling the eyes. The ghost had black hair which was only slightly disheveled and a scar along their neck. The brothers stepped closer to each other while watching the spirit. It didn't attack them. Instead, it gestured for the two hunters to follow.
"Wilbur?" Tommy asked, looking at his older brother in the hopes of an answer. The older boy shrugged and followed the ghost and Tommy ran after them.
The ghost led them through a smaller door on the opposite side of the ballroom. Flames sprouted up in the lamps as they passed. Tommy turned the flashlight off.
"Wilbur, I don't like this," Tommy whispered.
"Relax," Wilbur replied in a similar hushed tone. "I have a lighter, so if things get bad we can burn this thing to kingdom come."
"That's supposed to make me relax?"
"No, I'm just telling you in case I do."
"Wilby, you are a scary person."
"I know," he smiled then glanced up at the ghost who was about ten yards ahead of them. "Where do you think we're going?"
"A secret room that we believe is safe, but it's a trap where our enemies are going to jump out of the walls and kill us all," Tommy shrugged.
"Where do you get these ideas?"
"I had a really weird dream last night. You started a new country so you could deal drugs out of a hot dog van. Then we had this whole revolution so we could become an independent nation. You were the leader of the whole ordeal and I was your right-hand man. You also fucked a salmon and had a fox as a son."
"Tommy, just stop. I don't need to hear about your dream."
"Fine," the teenager huffed. "I'll just tell Techno about it."
"You do that."
The ghost stopped at a door and made a gesture for one of the two living beings to open the door. Tommy and Wilbur looked at each other, neither of them wanting to.
After a very intense game of rock, paper, scissors and a few profanities, courtesy of Tommy, it was decided that Tommy would be the one to open the door. The blond hesitantly approached and cracked open the door then immediately ran back to Wilbur.
"You first," he stated pushing his older brother forward.
"No," Wilbur chuckled, "you first."
"But you're older."
"Aren't you a 'Big Man'?" Wilbur smirked, referencing a conversation they had in the motel earlier that day. Tommy scowled. He hated when his brothers used his own words against him.
The ghost looked at them, an unamused look lacing their cold, dead eyes. Tommy sighed, flipped off Wilbur and entered the room with his brother following behind.
