The interior design trends in the 1800s were strange, Tommy concluded as he watched the last of the skeletons burned. At least for rich people. What in the world happened that caused giant red eggs to become stylish? Tommy had a feeling that demonic possession had something to do with it.
Now that he had done all the work he felt the need to be petty about it. Wilbur had left him to do all the work. With his mind focused on Wilbur he realized how strange it was that his older brother had ditched him in here. Usually Wilbur jumped at any opportunity to prove that he was better than Tommy, hence why most hunts ended up as a competition. Who could behead the most vampires? Who could locate the grave first? Who could exorcize a demon faster? The loser got to sleep on the couch in the motel room. Techno tried to get them to compete over who could read the most books related to what they were hunting. Spoiler: it never worked. Tommy and Wilbur were firm in their belief that looking at memes was a much better use of their time.
Tommy was ready to leave when he spotted a book lying on the ground, entangled in the mysterious red vines. Now Tommy had little to no interest in books (except for the ones he attempted to write), but something about this book caught his eye. Maybe it was the vibes that it gave off. Maybe it was that it was shrouded in mystery as it lay untouched in a dimly lit room. No matter what it was Tommy felt that the book was most likely evil, so naturally, he grabbed it.
Tommy opened the book in an attempt to understand its contents, but the language was foreign to him. That was when he heard muffled chatter outside. He smiled, Techno was here. Techno liked books and probably would know about the book he was holding.
"Techno, you've gotta come and see this. It's really pog and weird. Like even weird for us, kind of weird," he called.
