KnightOfZaku: I wish I had a PlayStation to play GBO2 and GBO: Code Fairy on. But unfortunately my parents won't get me one (or any gaming console/pc for that matter). However, I did watch several of the playthroughs, and a compilation of all the cutscenes. Seems like a really awesome game that I will definitely be using in this story!
Also while she won't be joining the Immortal 4th, she will be fighting alongside them, and she will join the White Base when it's launched.
Golden Gundam Part I: Set Sail for Side 4!
Luna II, February 21st
"Gun..dam?" Rose cocked her head, "This looks worse than the Guncannon." She flipped through the file.
"Don't underestimate it because of it's limb design. I assure you, it's much better than that Felsin trash." Tem laughed,
"Right…" Rose said apprehensively,
"Here we are!" Tem Ray spread his hands out wide, "The RX-78T-1 Golden Gundam!" The Golden Gundam stood tall, nearly 16 meters. Rather than arms, the nose section of a fighter was affixed to its shoulder joints.
But looking at it, something just felt right about this mobile suit.
"It even has an advanced learning computer, capable of adapting to combat situations and creating simulations from the data. That's why testing is more important than ever, we need the data that way it can improve." Dr. Ray insisted,
"And so you're throwing me into the fire by sending me to Side 4?" Rose said apprehensively,
"Not without training," Tem shook his head,
"I'm your very first test pilot. There is very little 'training' you can give me." Rose sighed, "I just have to wing it. Pun not intended."
"Good, because it wasn't funny Lieutenant." Yi-Lei came up to her
"Lieutenant?" She asked,
"Oh that's right isn't it. The brass has decided to promote you from Ensign to Lieutenant."
"An entire 2-rank promotion?" Rose's eyes went wide, "That's alot…"
"You'll be joining up with a volunteer force. The Moore Brotherhood." He explained
"That group of volunteer pilots?" Rose asked,
"Side 4 is vital for maintaining a supply line between our moon bases and Earth. We lose Moore and we lose the war in space."
"Right," Rose nodded, 'I had no idea that a practical scrap pile like that was so important…'
"You move out tomorrow, 1200 hours."
"Sir!"
The next day
Rose approached the Magellan-Class Keanous. Where the Golden Gundam was docked on its side.
"It can transform?!" Rose said in surprise. The Golden Gundam had turned from a more mobile suit like form to a form resembling that of fighter planes of the past, like the Federation F-35 of UC 0038.
"That's right. It's a transformable mobile suit, it has both a flight form and mobile suit form. After all, that's what the T stands for in the name. Experimental-78 Transformable Unit 1 'Golden Gundam'." Tem Ray explained,
"By the way, Doctor you're not coming with me?"
"Oh, I'm going to Side 7 to oversee the development of the other two units. The RX-75 and RX-77 are complete, but they still need to be tested and fine-tuned. And we need to finish with the RX-78-2,"
"And my suit needs none of that?"
"Well, since we didn't need the complicated hydraulics that the other Gundam unit has, and it doesn't need quite the array of weapons that the RX-77 or RX-78-2 can use. And while the transforming mechanism is rather complicated-"
"Spare me the technical jargon." Rose said. "If it's good, then I should get at least ten Zaku's with it."
Solomon, Zeon Space Attack Force Headquarters
"Yet another encounter with the Valkyrie of Loum." Gaia shook his head. "Yet another Zaku completely trashed."
"We drove her off though." Ortega said eagerly, "Just wait, we catch her at just the right time and we'll nail her!"
Ryan looked back as he clutched the hand rail taking them through Solomon. He was about to say something when he suddenly ran into a burly, heavyset man.
He rubbed his head, and looked up to the other Quad-Stars panicked expressions.
"A-Admiral Dozle sir!" Gaia hastily snapped a salute.
Ortega and Mash quickly followed, Ryan reeled back, and fell in with the other Quad-Stars.
"The Quad-Stars yes?" Dozle asked, "I've heard of you, good work gentlemen." He kept walking, "Oh, and Mr. Sahalin, it's not my message to deliver, but still, my sister-" He somewhat spat the word out, "-is looking for you."
ZMAU Chimera
Sure enough, it wasn't long before someone from the Kycilia Agency came and whisked him away to the Chimera.
"You seem unnerved." Kycilia said,
"Who wouldn't be?" Ryan said honestly, "I'm in the presence of a Zabi-"
"No need for flattery," She paused, before adding-
"Adrian Ral Hamon."
Keanous
"So far, so good." Captain John Wilken was surprised. They'd gone from Luna II and past earth without a hitch. He felt like the Zeon were watching but always just out of sight.
"At this rate, ETA will be in three hours." The navigator said with relief,
"Stay sharp, I doubt the Zeeks are just going to let us pass."
"Yes sir."
"I'm bored Captain!" A Zaku pilot said,
"Quit your whining Ensign Colesawer!" The female captain said to him, "Honestly, what am I going to do with you…" 'I swear...are all those Flanagan institute people like this?' She could practically feel him pouting through the laser comms.
"Captain." Another voice came over the comms, an MS-06E approached them. "A lone Magellan Class, and there's more."
A short recording popped up on Captain Hailey Barret's screen, 'What is that?' It looked like a fighter, it was far too big, it was 17 meters at least, like a mobile suit.
'A new prototype assault ship?' Hailey analyzed.
"Captain!" Colesawer said excitedly, "Let's get those Feddies!"
"Negative Ensign," She shook her head, "We need to observe."
"But-"
"No buts!" Barret snapped, prompting a small Eek! from the frightened ensign.
"Juliet." Barret referred to the pilot of the MS-06E, "Alert the Opulent to move to combat stations and launch all mobile suits."
Rose looked up in her bunk, she blinked, and for a brief second, a Black Zaku II rushed at her with it's heat sword.
She gasped, panicked. 'What the…?' She couldn't help but feel like she knew the pilot somehow. She couldn't explain it but...she was sure she'd met the pilot before.
"Alert the Opulent to move to combat stations! And launch all mobile suits!"
"Captain! Enemy mobile suits!"
"Damn! How are they so close?!"
"Heavy damage! The Minovsky reactor is going to blow!"
She shot up, the brief golden glow in her eyes dying out.
"It's just like eight years ago...and ever since then!" She shot out of bed and out of the bunks.
"L-lieutenant!?" She ran into a diminutive glasses wearing man.
"Ensign Osmond!" Rose grabbed his shoulders, "Tell everyone who's remotely important on this ship that we're about to be attacked!"
"How would you…" He began
"Just go!" She pushed him aside and grabbed a hand rail to the bridge.
"Trips should be like this more often…" John leaned back and relaxed, when Rose burst onto the bridge.
"Combat stations! All of you!" Rose yelled, "There's a single Musai and a full complement right outside our sensor range!"
"What the?!" John shot up, "How would you know that?!"
"Well…" Rose scratched her head, "Female intuition?"
John was nearly convinced she was a madwoman when the radar operator shot over his screen, "M-minovsky interference rising! I make out six small blips! Likely mobile suits!"
"What the-?!"
"I'm heading out!" Rose prepared to leave the bridge,
"In what?! We have no fighters!" John asked,
"In what else- the Gundam!"
