Dragonngo: That plot has...changed a bit. Mars Zeon will still become an important faction, just not as previously thought. But the information WILL prove helpful nonetheless!
"After that battle, Angelina is almost like a different person." Heinrich noted,
"Less of a bitch?" Zero added,
Heinrich nodded, "All she needed was to be taken down a peg or two. Glad it happened. She used to slack off a lot, relying on her Newtype abilities to carry her through. Now, she actually trains with the simulators."
"That's a shock." Zero replied,
"Hey, there's Ryan!" Heinrich said,
"He's sitting with that girl again. What was her name? Al-Alana?"
"Alma." Heinrich corrected, "Kind of a weirdo if you ask me. She's like Dejardeen. Always knows what you're thinking."
Zero changed the topic, "It's kind of weird. The guy is no older than us, and yet he's already a national hero. Make me wonder…what kind of power do we wield?"
Heinrich looked down, that was a question he'd wondered many times himself.
A question none of them could seemingly answer.
Ryan was wandering around the corridors of the Institute, when Dr. Esther Brinkmann came up to him.
"Excuse me, Ryan?" She panted, "Can I ask you for a favor?"
"Sure, what is it?"
"It's Lalah, she's wandered off somewhere within the Colony, and I can't go look for her right now."
"She's lost? Shouldn't we call soldiers-"
"No, it's fine." Esther said, "She always does this, and we usually let her, except I just can't bring her back right now so I need someone else to pick her up."
"Oh…alright." Ryan said, he didn't know Lalah all that well, but Alma seemed to like her, so he could be bothered with it.
Ryan caught the keys to Dr. Brinkmann's car as she threw them.
"Oh and one more thing - don't be put off by anything she says. She's a bit…on point at times."
"Alright." Ryan nodded,
'I'll worry about that when I find her.'
Lalah walked barefoot throughout the colony, the grass gently tickling her feet. She loved these walks, they allowed her some measure of peace from others.
However, she sensed a powerful Newtype presence, seeking her out.
Ryan Sahalin.
She liked the man, his heart always tried to be the best of places, similar to her Commander. However, she always sensed a cloud of sadness hanging around him, a cloud that Alma seemed to exacerbate and help mitigate at the same time.
It was a very confusing paradox.
She was aware of the car pulling up next to her before it was even 300 feet of her, and she didn't even look up when it stopped next to her.
"Mister Sahalin." Lalah addressed him,
"Lalah, right? I'm borrowing Dr. Brinkman's car, it's time for you to come back."
She didn't say anything, but got in beside him, and turned to stare at him.
"Is…there something wrong?" Ryan asked,
"You're sad." Lalah said,
Ryan raised an eyebrow, "I'm sorry?" He asked,
"You're filled with regret. You lost someone close to you."
Ryan quickly realized what she was doing, and willed his mind to be shut. And sure enough, Lalah reeled back as if she was shocked.
"Don't do that." Ryan said harshly,
Lalah looked saddened, "I…didn't mean to intrude." She said apologetically, "I just…tend to do that sometimes."
"Yeah, well it's rude." Ryan shot at her, and she looked like she was a child being scolded.
Ryan softened, "I…panicked." He said, his own form of an apology, "I'm sorry."
Lalah nodded, but they drove in silence for the rest of the trip.
"I brought her back." Ryan said, and Lalah emerged from behind him.
"Sorry to force you into this." Esther apologized,
"It's alright." Ryan shook his head,
As Esther lead her back inside, Lalah gave Ryan one last backward glance before heading back to the institute.
March 3rd, 11:34 PM
Rose quietly landed on the Beehive in the middle of the night. While it seemed suspicious, the captain insisted they do it while the enemy was asleep, as they wanted to high tail it out of here before they were caught.
The Gundam quietly passed an air control officer who guided it and the accompanying shuttle of engineers into the hangar bay, and Rose got out of the RX-78T.
'A mobile suit…' Rose wondered, she turned back to look at the Golden Gundam. The engineers quickly scuttled away, likely to find their quarters.
Suddenly, she heard drumming coming from one of the other planes, looking out, she noticed some of the cockpit lights were on.
Rose approached it, where a spiky blonde haired man was fiercely drumming on the instruments in the cockpit, all accompanied by a jazz instrumental.
Eventually, it seemed he noticed Rose floating above him, and he stopped and turned to look at her.
"I liked it." Rose said simply,
"I'm not a show." The boy told her,
"So? It's not like I was bothering you, and you are good at it."
The boy tch'ed, but reluctantly turned the music back on, and slowly but surely began drumming again, and Rose moved closer to listen, but when she did, he stopped again.
"That pilot suit…you pilot the mobile suit that just came ?" The boy asked,
Rose smiled, "Golden Valkyrie of Loum, Lieutenant Rose Sahalin."
The boy gave a mocking salute "Ensign Io Fleming, at your service."
"Well, Ensign, I just pulled off a night landing. So I'm going to catch some sleep." Rose waved him goodbye, leaving the boy to turn the jazz music back on and return to drumming.
The next day, she reported early in the morning to Claudia Peer, the captain of the Beehive.
"So, you're the Golden Valkyrie, the Earth Federation's newest hero." Her eyes narrowed, scanning the small girl. "You're a little short."
"And that hairstyle is looking a little outdated, captain." Rose retorted, and quickly regretted her words. This was a Lieutenant Commander she was talking up too, and despite her hero status, she'd pay dearly for disrespect to senior officers.
But instead of a reprimand, Claudia laughed. "Nice to see you have a bit of spunk shortie. Lieutenant Commander Claudia Peer, and we'll get along just fine. Come on, I'll introduce you to the crew."
March 4th, Later that morning
"Alright. First, we got Graham." Claudia pointed to a portly man quietly eating food in a corner, "First Mate of the ship."
"Second, we got Cornellius KaKa. Your little entourage of mechanics is going to be working under him." The light blue-haired man waved.
"Finally, we got Io Fleming, head of our pilots unit." Io waved to her,
"Io? I met him last night." Rose said
"Drumming in his cockpit no doubt. I've given up on making him go to sleep, as long as he performs." Claudia waved it off, "Anyway, these are the people you need to know on the Beehive. Now, go socialize and get some breakfast. Then report to the bridge for a briefing."
The bridge
"Alright. Here on the frontline, the main Army couldn't give two shits about us. The only reason they sent you is to keep the supply line to their Moon bases open so they can counterattack Zeon when the time comes." Claudia explained, "The shoal zone is the perfect place for snipers. We had ten Cruisers with the Beehive when we started. Now we have three."
"How am I supposed to help?" Rose asked,
"Simple, you're the only one who can fight the Zeeks on any semblance of even ground, we'll be using you to spearhead an assault on the Living Dead Division."
"Living Dead?"
"Officially the 21st Long-Range Assault Division, their job is two things. Kill as many of us as possible, and disrupt Federation shipping. So far, they've been doing exceedingly well at both."
Rose looked contemplative, her eyes flashed gold for a brief moment. "I think we're fighting the wrong way. You're trying to take them head on, that won't work, believe me, I've seen the results."
"If you don't mind me saying Lt. Commander, we should use the agility of our fighters to out maneuver the enemy. We may not be faster, but we're smaller and more agile, and by loading them up with missiles, we can become effective against enemy mobile suits."
"Yes, but we need to draw them out of their sniping positions, or at least locate them-"
"I'll take care of that, they'll likely be focused on me in the Gundam. When they move to focus on me, we attack."
Claudia looked surprised, the normally laid back Rose turned serious and cunning.
"Alright…but still…we don't have the numbers. We barely have enough pilots to defend the fleet."
"Still, we have to do this." Rose said, "If we can prove that the Moore Brotherhood can be successful, then the Federation will send more pilots. I guarantee it."
"Alright, then we sortie immediately!" Claudia clapped her hands together,
"I'm sorry, what?" Rose asked in surprise.
"That's right! We'll be sorting immediately." Claudia replied,Rose looked around, but everyone seemed to be in agreement.
Rose sighed, this was going to a wild ride with the Moore Brotherhood.
"Io Fleming, Saberfish, launching!" Io launched first, over the comms, Rose could hear his Jazz music filling the cockpit.
She turned to her mobile suit. The screen showed it's start up screen.
PROJECT V: RX-78T-1 'GOLDEN GUNDAM' - OS BOOTING
OS BOOTED

SUB-SYSTEMS ACTIVATED

The start-up screen disappeared, replaced by a view from the Golden Gundam's head.
"Rose Sahalin, Golden Gundam, launching!" Stepping out to an open hatch, she fired up her thrusters and launched out of the hangar bay.
As soon as she was out, she flipped a few switches, and the Golden Gundam responded by transforming into it's Fighter Mode.
'No training…how did I do it so smoothly?' She wondered, shaking it off. She focused ahead.
"We're coming up on the primary combat zone." Io said, "I hope you're ready shortie."
"Go suck a dick." Rose responded, bursting ahead of the Saberfish fighters. She looked at her scanners. They were picking up blips rapidly, but of course they were no more than debris.
Inhaling…she did the only thing that felt natural to her at this point, and let her instincts take over…
A Zaku behind a mobile Mega-Particle Cannon aimed for Rose.
"A Federation MS?" The pilot wondered, "No matter, I'll destroy it!" The pilot aimed, and fired.
Gasping, Rosary turned, and extended her beam rifle, firing at a seemingly random piece of debris, revealing the Zaku still swiveling the Mega-Particle cannon.
The pilot seemed stunned and unable to react, leaving him vulnerable to Rosary's counterattack, drawing her right beam saber, she pierced the Zaku through it's cockpit, leaving it to explode.
Daryl Lorenz watched in horror as the Golden Gundam stabbed Jamin through his cockpit.
"Jamin…" He said in horror, before tch'ing. "Everyone, scatter!"
The various snipers that'd been in position around the enemy mobile suit left their positions, towing several Skiures and Big Guns towing behind them.
"Artillery, set up on the debris and target that thing! Snipers, pin it down with AP fire!" Daryl drew his ASR-78, and lined up a shot and fired, only for it to transform into a fighter and dodge. It charged at one of the snipers, immediately transforming and firing it's beam rifle at point blank range. It proceeded to springboard of the exploding MS, launching itself towards another sniper.
Daryl kept firing, ignoring the pained screams of his comrades as they were slaughtered by the mobile suit.
Suddenly, the mobile suit turned towards him, and he felt a spark-
"-and I messed up!"
"You're being paranoid!"
"Fine! Leave, I don't want to see you again, traitor!"
Daryl gasped, 'What the?!' He wondered, did he just…go through her memories?
The pilot seemed to be enraged by this, firing a spread of missiles at Daryl, he heard a voice roar 'Out of my head!' Before a heat seeking missile impacted his shoulder.
He tossed his rifle at the oncoming mobile suit, before pushing the Zaku to full throttle.
"Everyone! Retreat!" He shouted over comms, "I repeat!"
Pulling out his bazooka, he continued weaving through debris and rocking backwards as he fired missiles at the mobile suit.
Suddenly, a group of Saberfish appeared in front of them, firing a series of missiles, the broke off.
A Zaku was struck by two missiles, and exploded.
'It was an ambush!' Daryl charged at a saberfish, slashing it with his heat hawk and breaking through the enemy fire.
The others were not so lucky. A Zaku was hit by a missile directly in the cockpit, disabling it. Another Zaku I was hit in the backpack by a laser-guided missile, creating a chain reaction that destroyed it.
By the time they escaped, there was only fifteen of them, out of the nearly fourty that had set up here.
"What the hell?" Daryl's wingman - Fisher Ness wondered.
"That was an enemy mobile suit! I thought the Feds didn't have any after Mare Smythii!"
"More importantly…did you see it's gold color? That was the Valkyrie of Loum!"
Daryl paled, if that was the Valkyrie of Loum in a mobile suit, then there was no telling what kind of destruction she'd cause in Moore.
Rosary sighed, "It's over…" She breathed,
"Holy shit!" A pilot named Falhen shouted, "Lady, you're a monster!" He cheered,
"I kind of just acted." Rosary said,
"'Just acted' my ass! You could be one of them Zeon Newtype-thingies!"
Rosary laughed, "Newtype? Really?"
"Hey, if you can take down a Zaku in a Saberfish, then what can't you do?"
Rosary chuckled mirthlessly, but didn't respond. 'Newtype…'
A new version of Zaku pulled out a bazooka and fired a large beam from it, which a Gundam barely dodged.
The Zaku then proceeded to pull out it's heat hawk and charge at it…
Rosary reeled, 'What the…?!' She turned towards the enemy pilot, "Out of my head!" She roared, both mentally and vocally.
Rosary shook it off. It was nothing, a coindience.
