Dragonngo: Hmm, the first one is definitely going to be put to use. The rest I'm considering as we speak!
KnightOfZaku: Lilith Aidan is definitely going to play a big role, that's for sure. But yes, I'll consider deploying her with Rose.
Mash barely managed to raise his heat hawk in time to block the slash.
"Ryan!" Gaia shouted, grabbing the Nezak from behind. However, it merely shrugged him off and kicked Gaia back.
"Ryan! Please wake up!" Alma shouted, she then went in with her Panzerschreck, firing two rockets she closed the gap and engaged the Nezak in close combat.
The Nezak rushed her, thrusting it's Katana, which Alma was forced to parry, which allowed the Nezak to slash her Zaku with it's heat hawk, however, Alma barely managed to avoid being cut through the cockpit, escaping by quickly reversing her thrusters and only having a large vertical scar down her MS.
"It doesn't seem to have a fixed target! It just attacks whatever is closest!" Alma cried out,
"Hold on, then I have an idea!" Gaia called out, "Mash! Ortega!"
"Yes sir!" They activated their thrusters and lined up behind Gaia.
"What the…"
As predicted, the Nezak went for Gaia, who deflected it's first strike before breaking off. The Nezak turned, still focused on Gaia.
And that was opening enough.
Mash went straight for the head, where he knew the system was located, Mash proceeded to fire it's at bazooka both of it's legs, blowing them off.
"All troops! Fall back!" Char ordered over the comms, "We can't take on two Gundams right now!"
The Quad-Stars grabbed the disabled Nezak, behind them, Char fired a spread of missiles at the Golden and Prototype Gundams, preventing them from pursuing before turning and following the Quad-Stars. Soon, the rest of the 300th followed behind them as well.
"Enemy is retreating." Kanken sighed relievedly.
Rose rubbed her forehead, "Our target got away, lets pull back and see what to do next."
"Yes ma'am!" The soldiers replied. Rose groaned in pain, the image of the red-eyed Nezak never leaving his mind.
Kongo
The Nezak crashed into a safety net, where repair crews instantly put out any fires. Arlette rushed over to the cockpit, where she struggled to pull out an injured Ryan.
Gaia rushed over to him, "How bad is it?" He asked,
"Physically, it's a few cuts and bruises." Arlette looked down, "But…he's suffered severe mental damage, I can tell. As of now, Ryan Sahalin is comatose."
Floating.
"What the…?" Ryan opened his eyes.
"Where am I?" He wondered, surrounding him were nothing but stars.
Suddenly, as if he was being pulled into a black hole, everything collapsed around him…
'So…cold' Yuki Shiori shivered 'Why is it…so cold?'
Ryan looked around, 'Snow…?' He wondered, 'Isn't snow supposed to be cold?'
"Hey…snow!" The boy looked up dazedly, "It's snowing! I need to tell Fang Li!"
'Fang Li…' Ryan had heard that name before.
He gasped, looking up, he saw the open stars above them.
This was a colony.
No. No. No. It couldn't be.
But it was.
They were inside Island Iffish, right before the Colony Drop.
"Kid!" He yelled out,
"Yuki!" He shouted again, somehow saying his name despite the fact he had no way of knowing. "This is gas! Get off the colony!"
Yuki couldn't hear him, but approached the bunker in a daze. "Fang Li! Let me in!"
"Fang Li! Can you hear me?!"
Ryan kept yelling, and tried to grab the kid, but when he did…
His arms went right through.
He collapsed, this was his fault. Why'd he ever go through with this?
The scene changed. The year was 0077.
The last year he saw his sister.
"It's Ryan. I'd like to come in."
He wanted to run to himself, yell at him to not be an idiot, remain with his sister, no matter what it took.
"Sure." She opened the door. "Also, you don't need to use our fake names Adrian."
The conversation continued as it had in real life, and all he could do…was watch.
"No. No!" Adrian clutched her, "What the hell?! You can't leave!" For the first time in years, tears began to fall out of his eyes. "Erena abandoned us years ago. Karl is dead. I have no idea where mom and dad are...you, Aina, and Ginias are all I have left!"
"Erena...left us?"
"Why do you think we never received a single letter?! Ginias confessed it to me earlier today, she was nothing more than a gold-digger."
"You've already drawn attention to yourself by visiting with a Federation Officer. How long is it before someone does a little too much detective work because they think you're working for the Feds?"
"You're being paranoid!"
"Am I? We raided a Federation barracks just last week. Riah is on the verge of civil war. Tell me, am I being paranoid?!"
"See. That's the thing, you were a part of that raid. You helped fuel the nationalism in this school. Don tell me about the dangers of nationalism Mr. Big-hero!"
Adrian stepped back, his face a mix of sadness and rage. "Fine! Leave! I don't want to see you again, traitor!"
He was launched out of the memory. And into others,
Casval and Adrian escaping Munzo City.
Kycilia's attempted assasination in 0071 and his promise to become stronger.
Monique Cadillac telling off their teacher in 0074.
Then, he felt himself get propelled…forward?
"This is it. This is where the new Gundam is. Intelligence says its the RX-78-2 Gundam. The epitome of it's series."
"Ryan?! Are you…the Black Knight?!"
"It's fast." Ryan shifted his controls calmly, barely veering to dodge beams, before retaliating with his Efreet's beam bazooka.
"This is no Zaku boy! No Zaku!"
"I'm sorry I couldn't be a better father…to you both."
"Rosary…Adrian…my beloved children…sayonara."
"This is for Gaia!"
"Mash, don't!"
"Bernie!" A little boy shouted, running towards an FZ Zaku II Kai and a new Gundam-type mobile suit, locked in a deadly battle
It was too late. The Gundam's beam saber smashed into the Zaku's cockpit as the Zaku dug its heat hawk into the Gundam's neck.
"Lalah!" Char screamed as her pained screams resonated with all the Newtypes surrounding the battle.
Amuro watched in horror as the Elmeth ignited from the inside out, before exploding.
"Amuro Ray!" Ryan rushed the white Gundam with his Gelgoog's Naginata, ARES System causing the mono-eye to turn red.
"Ryan Sahalin! I will finish you!" The pilot of the Gundam replied.
"Her name is Katherine…take care of her. Please."
Ryan took the child in his arms, "I will. Don't worry."
"I see…so you want to end it here." The Gundam pilot lowered his head as the headless and one-armed RX-78-2 ignited a beam saber.
The Prototype Quebley, sparking with electricity, it's cockpit slashed open, drew its own. Its remaining. Inside, was the vague outline of a black pilots suit.
"Ryan Sahalin! This is the end!" The two mobile suits charged.
Suddenly, he was back among the stars. Standing over him, was Yuki Shiori.
"Yuki." Ryan echoed. "That's your name."
The boy nodded,
"Why are you showing me this?"
"To prepare you to receive this power. And to guide those who will inherit it after you."
"I can I…change any of this?"
"Yes and no," Yuki answered, "Time is a fickle thing. Some things are permanent. Unchangeable. Others, not so much."
"So you're saying I can change some things, but others I can't?"
"Yes, what things - that you will have to find out. Some things may already have been changed."
Ryan stood, "I'm not sure if you're real or not…but if you are…then I'm sorry. For everything."
Yuki cocked his head, and smiled.
Three Days later, Flanagan Institute
Alma gasped hopefully as Ryan groaned in his coma.
"It's not good for you." Someone said from the doorway. It was Char.
"Lt. Commander." Alma stood and saluted. Char returned it dismissively, before approaching the bed.
"He wouldn't want you standing over him like this." Char told her,
Alma looked at him, "If I may ask…how do you know Ryan-cha- I mean, the Commander?"
"We attended Guardian Banchi, do you know of the Dawn Rebellion?"
Alma nodded,
"Me, Ryan, and Garma planned the whole thing." Char's mouth showed a hint of a smile, but it disappeared quickly.
"Ryan is strong. He'll recover."
"It's remarkable really." Dr. Flanagan noted, "It's as if his brain is cocooning somehow. His average Psychowave level is increasing, and rapidly. When he wakes up, he might be even more powerful than before."
"Isn't this type of growth dangerous?" Esther asked,
"He's handling it surprisingly well." Flanagan noted, "If he was being overwhelmed, we'd see spikes in heart rate and unstable brain activity."
Esther nodded, 'Ryan…'
Marion looked down at her food, guiltily.
"Hey, Marion." Alma sat next to the blue haired girl.
Marion couldn't look up at Alma. "It's my fault."
"What is?" She asked,
"Ryan!" She told her, "If I'd stayed with Doctor Moses, we could've tested the BETA System and this wouldn't have happened!"
Alma slammed her hands down, "Ryan wouldn't want you saying that!" She yelled, causing the cafeteria to become silent.
"...huh?" Marion looked up bleary-eyed.
"He wouldn't want you…or anyone else to get hurt! So please, don't say things that'll make him sad!"
Marion sniffled, "...alright."
"No one listens…" He gripped Ryan's report angrily, "...they'll destroy us normal people. These newtypes. They're nature's way of culling the human population. They'll turn on us. But I'm ignored, the sheep we call scientists here are too content to worship the words of a decades dead mad-man." Chlust Moses muttered to himself, grabbing files with various markings. Several obviously outside his department such as those labeled Cyber Newtypes and Remote Weaponry.
"The Federation is humanity's only hope. Zeon lusts for an inhuman power." Moses continued, his room was stripped baren of anything that could be of aid to Zeon.
"Marion…I couldn't save you. I'm sorry." Moses touched the photo, then threw it in the trash.
Putting on a wide-brimmed fedora to conceal his face, with a dark overcoat to mask the rest of his body. He took his possessions, and silently disappeared into the night.
Federation Central Intelligence Agency - Branch Riah
"Who is this?" Agent Amaz Fahid demanded. "How do you have this number?"
"Professor Chlust Moses. I work for the Flanagan Institute."
'Flanagan Institute?' Fahid gasped, "You mean Zeon's newtype research?"
"I have it all right here. Newtype weaponry, creation of artificial newtypes, all here."
Fahid threw down his headset, "Hold the phone, I'll get my superior officer!"
He ran out of his cubicle, and ran to his officer, Commander Brauer Kerigan.
"Commander Kerigan, sir!" He said breathlessly
"You better have a good fucking reason for barging into my office." He removed his cigarette,
"I just received a call from a Zeonic scientist, he wants to defect to the Federation!"
"Huh?" Rose cocked her head, "You want us to escort a Zeonic scientist out of Riah?"
Lt. General John Walker nodded, "Riah isn't too far from Moore right now, so Dr. Moses takes priority."
"When do we leave?" Rose sighed,
"Tomorrow, we've already dispatched agents to pick up the professor."
Early that morning, the next day
"Why are we just hauling parts?" Hideto groaned,
"Show some more respect." Monique told her, "These are for Commander Ryan Sahalin's Nezak mobile suit."
"Ryan Sahalin? The guy who helped us out back at Loum?"
"Yes, him. His MS was critically damaged in combat, so now we need to bring the replacement parts." Monique told them, "It's a quick job anyway. I'm sure this will be very nostalgic for a pencil case like this one."
Captain Prochnow scoffed, but looked ahead. "Pulling in now."
"Roger that." nodded Vice-Captain Kruger.
The Jotunheim pulled into the Riah Colony, a fateful encounter that would change everything.
"This should be the last of it." Monique sighed, "Where is he anyway?"
The engineer looked up at her, "He's…in the medbay."
'Medbay?' Monique turned towards the door, and back to the engineer. "Is he injured?"
The engineer sighed, "If you're worried, go see for yourself."
Monique opened the door to the medical bay, and gasped when she saw Ryan dead still amongst the other patients.
She walked over, 'Why am I so worried?' She wondered. It wasn't like her to worry about strangers. Yet here she was, standing over this boy and praying he would get better.
Taking a seat next to the boy, she watched him sleep.
'He was…beautiful.' She realized with a start, his face was surprisingly smooth, and his short black hair was easily mistaken for that of a girl.
She smiled, gently grabbing his hand.
Suddenly, she was surprised when his hand curled around hers.
And his eyes fluttered open.
