For being my first comment I'm giving you a prize I'm going to let you choose who Naruto is going to face in the Return to Konoha arc. The characters are Hiashi Hyuga, Tsume Inuzuka, Kabuto, or Sakura's parents. Send me a message and I'll work around it. It'll be another 4 or 5 chapters before the story reaches the canon timeline. Fox Creek: Naruto vs. Sasori
Standing in front of each other both combatants were calculating the coming battle ahead.
Sasori studied the now revealed Naruto in front of him, other than the crossbow and the hunting knife holstered on his right hip the boy was very lightly armed. But Sasori knew from his years of experience that appearances can be deceiving and the lighter the load out the faster the opponent was going to be able to move. He also took into account that since the boy had no quiver on him that he must have storage seals full of bolts either on his person or on his crossbow because it wouldn't make sense to enter battle with only 2 bolts. He then studied his surroundings and realized that while they were outside and had more space he still was at a disadvantage. The ground was uneven both rising out of the ground and pitting into the earth also there were scatted boulders where the sized varied from just past knee height to high enough to conceal a fully grown cow so there was plenty of places to take cover from his ranged attacks.
Naruto on the other hand wasn't worried about the terrain. He had plenty of time to familiarize himself with the layout and those bandits that tried to raid the house a 3 days ago made good test subjects for finding out the best places to fire and maneuver from and the best vantage points to make a clean shot. He was more focused on the man in front of him, seeing his puppet body he knew this was going to be a tricky opponent he knew that since his body was fake that trying to cripple him was going to be a waste of time as well as trying to poison him since you can't poison a non-organic object. So, coming to that conclusion he had to destroy his whole body or find another way to kill him.
As both finally finished their pre battle assessments the one to strike the first blow was Naruto. Coming to a firing stance he quickly fired his 2 bolts both being blocked by Sasori as Naruto quickly dashed out of sight. Once in cover Naruto was quick to activate the 2 seals on his crossbow, first to draw both strings and lock them and second to load to bolts into their place. As Naruto finished loading his weapon he was nearly skewered by a cable that cut straight through the boulder. As he dodged the attack he say Sasori moving very quickly towards his position. Naruto while moving unleashed a second volley of bolts as both were caught by Sasori.
As Sasori looked at the 2 bolts he then realized to late that one bolt was black and one was red. Before he had time to react the red bolt caused the hand holding it to burst into flames. Not wanting the fire to spread to the rest of his wooden body he disconnected the limb at the elbow to prevent a fiery demise. Naruto using the momentary distraction quickly reloaded his crossbow and shot 2 more black bolts at Sasori. Both ended up finding their mark as both bolts ended inside the cable system that was installed into Sasori's stomach; both steel bolts caused the mechanism to be jammed and rendered useless. Sasori seeing his cable system now unserviceable proceeded to jettison the ruined weapon from his body. Naruto not wanting to push his luck proceeded to run behind another boulder with sasori hot on his heels. As Sasori rounded the corner ready to end the boy's life once and for all he was greeted with nothing.
It wasn't until he looked down that he saw a hole. He was brought out of his thoughts by a jolt as he felt 2 impacts against his back. The first bolt hit one of his spinning claws that was attached to his back the second hit him dead center I his chest narrowly missing the core that was implanted in the left side of his chest. He turned around and saw Naruto waist deep in a hole before quickly jumping out and transitioning to a new boulder for cover. Sasori then realized that hu must've dug a small tunnel system leading from one boulder to another to quickly and covertly flank the unsuspecting enemy. Sasori not going to give Naruto time to recover retaliated by using his implanted flame throwers to scorch the area Naruto was hiding. He was rewarded by a scream of pain as a smoking Naruto with a couple mild burns on his left leg and shoulder abandoned his cover firing his crossbow once more. As Sasori was about to block both bolts he was disoriented by a loud concussive sound that originated from the first bolt and then blinded when the second bolt exploded in a burst of light.
Using the momentary distraction Naruto reached into his pocket and produced a hand grenade. In all his years of travels he never expected to use such an old fashion weapon. But while he was in Suna a year ago he proceeded to kill a old couple that invited him into their house for the night to escape a sand storm (oh the irony). Him knowing that the old couple were going to kill him and rob him of his goods he proceeded to shoot the old man while his back was turned and use the surprise of the moment to slit the old lady's throat. Later as he was rummaging through the house trying to find anything of use he was able to find a secret room beneath the floor boards where he found the couples treasures of past robberies.
Toys, cloths, passports, uncut heroin, illegal animal skin, hardcore porn and snuff films that made Naruto's skin crawl; maybe he wasn't as much of a bastard as he thought he was. He then found something interesting a old green army chest. Popping it open he realized that the old man he just killed was a veteran of the Desert Storm campaign that took place over 40 years ago when Iwa invaded a oil rich part of Suna and a Coalition of Suna, Konoha, Uzu, and Taki with the combined forces of ninja and samurai forced Iwa back across the border in a 4 day one sided ass kicking. Rummaging through the chest he stumbled across a case of 12 live fragmentation grenades still in usable condition. They were issued out to samurai because they needed a way to compete with the ninja paper bombs but were unpopular among ninjas because of their size and weight. Naruto decided to take the case with him because you never know when you might need one.
And that moment was right now. Quickly pulling the pin Naruto threw the grenade to Sasori who was still blinded from the flashbolt. A typical grenade has a 3 to 5 second fuse so when Sasori's vision began to return after 4 seconds he then was greeted with another explosion. This time the high explosive along with the fragmentation blew him back until he came to a hard stop against a boulder. Upon gaining his bearings he quickly surveyed his body and didn't like what he saw. While his body wasn't destroyed the concussive force knocked some of his internal components loose. His spring powered weapons were bent in place, the nozzles' of his flame throwers were bent and worse yet his core took a piece of shrapnel. While not in immediate danger he had to end the fight immediately because every minute it goes untreated the likely hood of dying increases. As he rose to his feet, he saw the blonde boy stop only 10 feet away from him.
Naruto leaning his crossbow against a boulder unsheathed his hunting knife and took a fighting stance. He kept the knife facing up and got into a box stance. While most ninja hold their knife in a reverse grip he preferred this grip simply because it was simple, effective and gave you more range. Sasori quickly getting up revealed the only working spring blade in his remaining arm and proceeded to charge Naruto.
Naruto dodged the strike getting into Sasori's guard and proceeded to aim a stab at Sasori's core only to be kneed in the ribs and cough up blood. Naruto grabbing the leg used his other leg to perform a leg sweep which knocked Sasori off balance and onto his back. Naruto using his free hand to hold Sasori's arm down proceeded to ram his knife into Sasori's core down to the handle. As Sasori looked in shock at the knife in his chest, he felt the life slipping out of him. Naruto now getting up looked down at Sasori with a foxy grin now stretching on his face. "Well mate that was a fun little fight we had, it ate up a whole 8 minutes, yeah I'm guessing you expected to win because your older and have more experience than I do but once I found out your core was your weakness you were more fucked than a whore of free fuck night" Naruto said in happy tone. "But you gotta realize mate in this world there are 2 people winners and losers. And you lost 1 time to many" as soon as Naruto said that he ripped the knife out of Sasori's chest. So ends the life of Sasori of the red sand. As Naruto proceeds to take out the now destroyed core and rummage through the puppet body to find the headband, he has unknowingly thrown a wrench into the plans of the Akatsuki.
As Naruto proceeds to leave he spots the abandoned arm of Sasori with a ring around the finger "huh… guess it'll make a nice gift for some lucky lady one day" as Naruto takes off the ring and pockets it. Upon returning to the house, he proceeded to gather up his gear and put in the wagon. He then proceeded loot Deidera's body finding his headband, eye scope and at least 20 pounds of C4 chakra clay. He also found out on both of Deidera's hands were these weird mouth things; 'wonder if he ever used them to blow himself' Naruto pondered with chuckle. He then grabbed one of his legs and dragged his over to the closet. Upon opening it he then through Deidera with the original occupants of the house, he killed the husband and the wife while they slept then proceeded to kill their daughter in her room at the far corner of the house. The wife and daughter were very beautiful, silky black hair, flawless pale skin and both seemed to have C cups.
They were both lucky Naruto wasn't into rape like his father Futoshi was. It always annoyed him when he tried to sleep and the girls kept screaming for Futoshi to stop; and he was always the one who ended up killing them because he honestly felt like he was doing them a favor. As he laid the body down he then proceeded to unscrew a lid from a jar and poured half of the contents on the bodies and used to other half to make a trail leading out of the house. Putting a small cigar in his mouth he struck a match and used it to light the cigar before tossing it into the trail causing a chain reaction ending in the house being engulfed.
Climbing onto the wagon he began to ride off to the south. He was running low on money but luckily while he was working at a nearby ranch, he heard from a fellow hand that there was a gang of Kiri rogues robbing folk down that way. With his destination set he rode off into the night nearly bouncing in his seat in excitement for the payday and the killing that was waiting for him only a day's ride away.
The Next day: Iwa border
Kakashi was fishing in a small pond hoping to catch his breakfast. It took him some time to get to the border and from what his intel told him the bandit camp was only half days walk from his current location. As he felt a tug on his line he pulled quickly catching a good size trout and proceeded to take it back to camp. Upon reaching his camp he began cooking the fish and put on a pot of coffee to start his morning. He decided to let his mind wander as he was wondering how much of a failure he was. Would his dad be ashamed, would Obito, how about his sensei? The thoughts ran wild through his head as he kept telling himself he's not a failure he will complete his mission and once he gets back to the village he would-"Oi" he was interrupted from his thoughts as he quickly turned around and saw something he never thought he see again. Blonde hair, blue eyes, whisker marks, confused expression on his face, orange and black checkered shirt "what the bloody hell you doin' out here"? Kakashi for the first time in years felt hope, he felt happiness, he finally found Naruto.
Another chapter completed hopefully you like it. Now to clear some things up; yes I based the Desert Storm thing of the real life Operation Desert Storm, Naruto's crossbow reloads kinda like the agony crossbow from The Evil Within or like in Painkiller except he uses a seal on it to bring out the next bolt and lastly Sasori was a puppet user so it only made sense for him to suck in hand to hand combat. I ain't gonna lie I'm kinda getting addicted to this fic so I'm gonna ride it til it dies just like my piece of shit chevy. Thanks for reading and the next chapter will be posted soon.
