Out of this Dimension - Part 1

A while back, Sonic had left Mobius with Tikal's spirit to help qwell his inner demons, which twice broke out and caused trouble. In addition to getting better, Sonic aims to get stronger for the fights ahead. This is the story of before he came back in the Solaris Arc...

Dimensional Gateway

*Within the strange space between dimensions, the Dimensional Gateway as it is called, Sonic is seen running along a track not too dissimilar to the tracks he'd see in Green Hill and the like, the spirit of Tikal following him as she guided him through this space.*

Sonic: "So this whole training thing involves me going to new dimensions? That's quite a lot of ground to cover."

Tikal: "Ground I'm sure you'll be able to walk to and from with seconds to spare."

Sonic: "Hah! Got me there! So what's the big plan?"

Tikal: "To cross into a few dimensions and help solve any issues in them. Sometimes the best way to move forward is to take a few steps back."

Sonic: "I see. Going back to basics? Fine by me!"

*Sonic smirks as he leaps off the road and into the dimensional rift below, Tikal following as they get swallowed by the rift.*

Green Hill Zone

*Sonic and Tikal fall out of the sky and land on the soft grassy plains of Green Hill Zone. The familiar scent of flowers and the sound of a babbling brook nearby making him feel nostalgic.*

Sonic: "Boy, going back to the beginning, huh? Man, this does take me back to my first ever adventure."

Tikal: "I wonder how long ago that must feel."

Sonic: "Heh. But I also smell trouble."

*Sonic looks around and finds a familiar Egg Mobile flying around. The figure sitting at the cockpit was shrouded in darkness, but Sonic could almost guess as to who it was. With a step in his feet, he dashes off to greet the invasive figure.*

Sonic: "With any Green Hill, there's an Eggman lying in wait. Time to give him the ol' Sonic Spin Attack."

*Sonic runs up a ramp and immediately jumps off, curling up and slamming into the Egg Mobile, causing the pilot to lose control.*

Sonic: "Hey, Eggman! For me, it's been a little while, but for you, maybe it's been a day or two. Either way, I'm here to... Stop... You...?"

*Sonic's confident boast comes to a screeching halt as the pilot reveals themself to be...a little girl in the familiar colors and similar clothing to the Classic Eggman Sonic was more familiar with.*

Girl: "Ack! Nicky!? How did you get here so quickly!? Heavy King said you were still another hour away!"

*The girl adjusts her glasses before realizing...the hedgehog standing before her wasn't her hedgehog.*

Girl: "Wait... Who are you? You're not Nicky!"

Sonic: "...Nicky? Tikal?"

*Tikal's orb floats around Sonic as she is called.*

Tikal: "Had you not rushed in, I could have explained that this is a dimension in which the genders are flipped. You and Robotnik are girls, with that same rule applying to everyone else too."

Girl: "Quit ignoring me! I am the great Omelette Robotnik! The greatest scientific genius in the world! And once I collect the Chaos Emeralds, I shall turn this world into my personal playground!"

Sonic: "...Omelette?"

*Sonic began to snicker before bursting out into a big laugh, Omelette starting to get even more red in the face.*

Sonic: "Okay! Haha... Time out! Oh goodness my sides... 'Omelette' is your name? What did you steal that from your enemy's handbook of insults?"

Omelette: "N-no! I came up with that name! I did! N-Not Nicky or that dumb kid, Millie!"

Sonic: "Oh yes. A breakfast meal's a big and scary name alright. What's next, are you gonna called "Scrambled Eggs" to fight me? Maybe "Egg Salad"? Or..."

Omelette: "ENOUGH! I am not going to be insulted by some blue hedgehog phony who's just itching for a pounding! Thankfully, I can call upon... My Death Egg Robot!"

*Omelette pushes a few buttons on her console, calling upon her own Death Egg Robot, which looked quite a bit like herself, even having a fancy ball gown like her's. Sonic jumps away from the impact and hops onto a hill as an arm came to drill him.*

Sonic: "Whoa. Okay. Death Egg Robot...minus the actual Death Egg. Guess some things are similar."

*Sonic jumps on the arm and runs on it in order to jump on the Death Egg Robot's head, doing a bit of damage to it before he is swatted away.*

Omelette: "Fool! This Death Egg Robot has been upgraded from my last model! It has been tested to handle whatever Nicky dares to throw at me! You are sunk, blue boy!"

Sonic: "But... Can it handle two hedgehogs?"

*Sonic smirks as Omelette looks at him confused. She turns around and finds a female blue hedgehog in red short shorts and a white tank top standing behind her.*

Nicky: "Boy, Omelette. I dunno why you're in your fancy robo... But I'm taking you down!"

Sonic: "Care if I join in?"

*The two hedgehogs look at each other before they smiled. Omelette began to sweat as within moments, even with her trying to fight back, her Death Egg Robot is ripped apart by the duo of hedgehogs and their speed. Omelette is forced to fly away in typical Eggman style.*

Omelette: "Curse you, Nicky and...whoever you are! I'll crush you both the next time we meet! I swear it!"

Sonic: "Alright!"

Nicky: "Peace of cake!"

*The two do a fist bump before posing in almost the exact same manner, though in Nicky's case, she adds a fair bit more grace.*

Nicky: "Man! Lucky someone beat me to her or else things could have ended badly. What's your name, guy?"

Sonic: "Hehe. Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog."

*Nicky starts to examine Sonic and starts noticing some...similarities between them.*

Nicky: "Let me guess. You're me from another world?"

Sonic: "Dimension."

Nicky: "Eh, close enough. So I'm guessing you're fast?"

Sonic: "Fastest thing alive!"

Nicky: "Can go Super?"

Sonic: "Once I get all seven Chaos Emeralds."

Nicky: "And have to deal with some megalomaniac with a pension for stuffing cute critters into robots?"

Sonic: "Add turning regular Mobians into robots forcefully and you got us being the same dude...tte in your case..."

Nicky: "Holy cow! Talk about awesome! ...Think you and I could race?"

Sonic: "So I can leave you in the dust?"

Nicky: "As if!"

*The two shared a hearty laugh before Nicky's ears flick to the sound of two tails acting as a copter.*

Nicky: "Hey, Tails! Glad you finally caught up!"

Tails: "Nicky!"

*A yellow fox that Sonic could easily recognize as this world's Miles Prower lands on the grass near the duo of hedgehogs, wearing a shirt with the twin tails logo Tails in Sonic's world uses on the Tornado and a pair of orange shorts with a utility belt wrapped around it. On her head was a pair of goggles likely used for biplane maintence or during flights on the Tornado.*

Tails: "Man, I take my eyes off you for one second and you just up and run off without me. You could at least slow down."

Nicky: "Sorry, Tails. Couldn't let Omelette get too much of a head start ahead of me."

Sonic: "Good thing someone slowed her down."

Tails: "Whoa... Who are you and why do you look so awesome!?"

Nicky: "Tails, meet Sonic. Sonic, meet my little buddy, Millie Prower..."

Sonic: "Also known as Tails?"

*Sonic and Nicky just fist bump, smiling wide as they did.*

Tails: "Oh my gosh, another Nicky! Who has his own 'Tails'! This is so exciting! Fists is going to freak out when I tell her!"

Sonic: "Fists?"

Nicky: "Our version of your red echidna friend I'd say. We call her Fists here."

Tikal: "Quite intriguing."

*Nicky and Tails immediately get startled by Tikal's sudden appearance. The girl didn't seem nonplused by this though as she just smiles.*

Tikal: "Greetings. I am Tikal, a friend of Sonic's from his world. A pleasure to meet you."

Tails: "Whoa... Are you a g-ghost?"

Tikal: "In...a manner of speaking... It's a long story."

Sonic: "And one I'm not planning on staying for."

Nicky: "Me neither."

Tikal: "Anyway, that is partly why I followed Sonic here. To find a way to bring my old form back so I can start a life anew outside the confines of the Master Emerald."

Tails: "Master Emerald? ...Huh... Well, I can't say we have any such way. Sorry..."

Tikal: "Quite alright."

Sonic: "Well, this has been a nice little walk down memory lane for me, but... I got places to be and other dimensions to go through."

*Sonic walks up to Nicky with a smile.*

Sonic: "But if I ever come back, let's you and I have that race."

Nicky: "Deal. You be careful out there, Sonic."

Sonic: "Will do, Nicky. See ya later."

*Tikal opens up a rift back into the Dimensional Gateway behind her and Sonic before they leave through it, Nicky and Tails seeing them off.*

Tails: "Will we ever see those two again, Nicky?"

Nicky: "I hope so. I want to race that guy. And I want to see just how fast he can go..."

Titanic Monarch Zone

*Within Omelette's own base of operations, the pouty little girl sits upon her throne with red cheeks as she begins to vent angrily.*

Omelette: "Grr! As if one hedgehog wasn't enough, I got two to deal with now! What a frustration! Those stupid...spiky...blue...pin cushions!"

*A big robot with a cape and color scheme similar to Omelette herself walks in, holding a glowing jewel.*

Heavy King: "Lady Omelette. A report, your grouchiness. The male hedgehog you mentioned has left from wherever he came."

*Omelette's eyes light up as she smiles wide.*

Omelette: "Really?! Whew... Thank goodness I don't have two dumb hedgehogs to deal with. And what's that you got there?"

Heavy King: "This is what was letting off that signal earlier. A strange gem that seems to create illusions. Egg Magician states that it could be some kind of... Phantom Ruby."

*Omelette looks at the gem, her face reflecting on its smooth surface before smiling.*

Omelette: "Phantom Ruby, huh? ...I like the sound of that. Hehehe... MWAHAHAHAHAHA!"
