-CHAPTER TWO - AN IDEA-
-UNITED KINGDOM-
A man walks down a set of stairs to a workshop
He opens the door to his workshop, and walks over to a workbench
"Sir, there is someone outside the door." A robotic voice explains
"PaperPlane?" Joy asks
PaperPlane turns around, aiming a robotic gauntlet at Joy
"Who are you?" PaperPlane asks
"My name is Joy, I am the Director of B.O.L.T." Joy explains
"What are you doing in my house?" PaperPlane asks
"I have a proposition for you." Joy explains
"Oh yeah?" PaperPlane asks
"I call it the Boltvenger Initiative." Joy explains
"The what?" PaperPlane asks
"The Boltvenger Initiative will bring together a group of remarkable people to team up and protect Earth from whatever we may not be able to deal with." Joy explains
"I've seen what you can do, and I am impressed by your skills." Joy explains
"I would like you to join the Boltvenger Initiative." Joy asks
PaperPlane takes a second to think of an answer
"First of all, why did you break into my house?" PaperPlane asks
"Easiest way I could contact you." Joy explains
"Couldn't you just DM me on Twitter?" PaperPlane asks
"That's not as fun as breaking into houses." Joy explains
"You're insane!" PaperPlane says, laughing
"Ok, I'll join your Initiative." PaperPlane explains
"Great!" Joy says
"Are you able to be in New York in.. say, a week?" Joy asks
"Sure thing." PaperPlane says
"Awesome, I'll see you next week." Joy says
Joy leaves PaperPlane's workshop, and leaves his house
"Sir, don't you have a meeting next week?" PaperPlane's AI, T.H.U.N.D.E.R. asks
"I do." PaperPlane responds
"Are you sure you'll be able to make it back here for it?" T.H.U.N.D.E.R. asks
PaperPlane thinks about the meeting for a moment
"You know what, T.H.U.N.D.E.R?" PaperPlane asks
"What is it, sir?" T.H.U.N.D.E.R. asks
"Fuck them, fuck the meeting. I'm going to New York." PaperPlane explains
"I am sure they will be very angry, sir." T.H.U.N.D.E.R. says
"Pfft!" PaperPlane says
"Who cares!" PaperPlane says
-NEW YORK-
Joy and Sly walk up to the door of their next potential recruit
They knock on the door, and met by the recruit
"Can I help you?" They ask
"Hi, Quartz, I'm Joy, director of B.O.L.T." Joy explains
"How did you- How did you know my name?" Quartz asks
"We've come to ask a question." Joy explains
"We know about a little secret of yours, and we think you would fit into a little team we're assembling." Joy explains
Quartz chuckles, nervously
"What secret?!" Quartz asks
"Come on.." Joy says
"You can't hide it from us, we already know." Joy explains
Quartz scratches his head
"I really, do not know what you're talking about!" Quartz explains
Joy nudges Sly's arm, he takes out a phone and shows Quartz a video of a raging green monster taking down a group of people
"Come on, that isn't me!" Quartz says
"Hmph, alright then.." Joy says
Joy slowly moves her hand towards her pistol, which Quartz notices
"What are you doing?" Quartz asks
"If you aren't gonna reveal him, we'll have to take a different approach." Joy explains
"You're bluffing!" Quartz says
"Just admit it and we don't have to do this!" Joy explains
"I seriously do not know!" Quartz says
"You don't?!" Joy asks
"No!" Quartz says
Joy draws her gun and aims it at Quartz
"OK! FINE!" Quartz says
"Good." Joy says, putting her gun away
Quartz sighs
"That was me.." Quartz explains
Sly leans over to Joy
"We already knew it was him, was all this really necessary?" Sly whispers
"No, but it was funny." Joy responds
"Ok, good! Anyways, we wanted to ask a question." Joy explains
"It was about a team, wasn't it?" Quartz asks
"Yes. We are assembling a team of remarkable people, that we call the Boltvenger Initiative." Joy explains
"We created this team for the sole purpose of something threatening our world that us normal people won't be able to defeat." Joy explains
"We need people like you to be there for us." Joy says
"I mean.. you did just threaten me with a gun.." Quartz says
"But I would feel bad if I didn't say yes to this." Quartz explains
"I accept your offer." Quartz says
"Awesome! Are you free next week so you can meet your team?" Joy asks
"Yeah." Quartz responds
"Ok good,, meet us at B.O.L.T. Headquarters next week. We'll send further details soon." Joy explains
"Ok, will do." Quartz says
"We'll see you next week." Joy says
She and Sly walk away as Quartz shuts his door
