-CHAPTER THREE - A TEAM-
-B.O.L.T. HEADQUARTERS-
Joy checks the time on her phone
"They should be here any minute now." Joy says
Joy and Sly hear a car pull up outside
"That'll be them." Joy says
Joy and Sly exit B.O.L.T. Headquarters to greet the team
Quartz, and two other team members exit the car
"Welcome Quartz to B.O.L.T. Headquarters!" Joy says
"Where's the other guy?" Johnny asks
"Did you not pick him up?" Joy asks
"He wasn't there." Prox explains
Suddenly, an armored man lands next to the car
"Sorry, I wasn't there for pickup, figured I might as well bring a suit." Plane explains
"A little heads up would have been nice!" Prox says
"Sorry." Plane says
"Anyways, now that you're all here.." Joy says
"We'll be going to a secret place offsite, so if you'll follow me to the roof, we'll take you there." Joy says
"Couldn't we have just gone right there?" Quartz asks
"It's not on land." Joy explains
"You're gonna kill us, aren't you?" Quartz asks
"I would have killed you at your door if that was my plan, but no. Now let's go." Joy says
Sly and Joy are followed up to the rooftop of B.O.L.T. Headquarters
Plane flies up to the roof, landing as an elevator opens and the others walk out
The cargo door of a Quinjet opens as they all enter
The cargo door shuts, the engine starts and they take off
-ATLANTIC OCEAN, OFF THE COAST OF NEW YORK-
"Where are we going exactly?" Quartz asks
Joy points towards to Quinjets windshield
Quartz stands up and walks to the front of the Quinjet, as he sees a giant aircraft carrier decloak itself
"Oh, that's cool." Plane says
"How did you make that?" Plane asks
"Honestly, I don't know, I wasn't a part of the build team." Joy explains
"Gotta make a suit like that one day." Plane says
The Quinjet lowers down onto the ship, and the cargo door opens, allowing the occupants to walk out
Quartz and Plane walk to the edge of the ship
"Okay, this is really fucking impressive, Joy!" Quartz says
"Oh, that isn't even all!" Joy explains
"What do you mean?" Quartz asks
"You'll see." Joy says
Joy walks over to an elevator, as the team follow her
The elevator goes down to the ships command center
"Welcome to the offsite B.O.L.T. Headquarters." Joy says
"If you follow me, I'll take you to the Boltvenger Initiative room." Joy says
Joy takes the team to the Boltvenger Initiative room, and they sit around a table in the center of the room
"Alright, now I can explain what is going on." Joy explains
-ONE WEEK AGO-
-SECRET B.O.L.T. BASE, MOJAVE DESERT, NEVADA-
A helicopter lands in a small, secret B.O.L.T. base out in the middle of the Mojave Desert
A scientist rushes out in a panic as Joy and Sly exit the helicopter
"What's going on?" Joy asks
"Something's happening to the Tesseract!" The scientist explains
"Take me down there, Dip." Joy asks
Dip nods
"Okay.." Dip responds
Dip leads Joy down into a research facility
They approach the Tesseract, encased in machinery as they research what it is and does
The Tesseract begins emitting blue energy around it, while Dip checks the energy readings, as they begin to rise quickly
"Can you stop this?" Joy asks
"No!" Dip says
"Shit.." Joy says
"Sly, get everyone out!" Joy asks
"Alright, good luck." Sly responds
"Thanks." Joy says
"EVERYONE, EVACUATE THE BUILDING NOW!" Sly yells, his voice echoing throughout the building
Everyone in the building does as told so and evacuates the building
Sly runs over to a fire alarm and activates it as another way to warn everyone to evacuate
"Okay, everyone should be out now!" Sly says
Sly rushes over back to Joy and Dip
The Tesseract begins to emit more and more blue energy, as the energy begins to pick up more and more speed, until a blue laser fires from it and a portal is formed
Joy, Sly and Dip walk around the machine to see what is happening, and at that moment they see someone walking through the portal, a man wielding a golden specter, the end glowing blue
Joy and Sly draw their guns and aim them at the intruder
"Put the weapon down!" Joy yells
The man slowly looks up, smirking at Joy and Sly
"Put it down, NOW!" Joy yells
Surprisingly, the intruder cooperates and drops the scepter, putting his arms up
"Who the fuck are you?!" Joy asks
"My name is Torpedopickle, I come from Asgard, and I have come for that." Torpedopickle explains, pointing at the Tesseract
They look back at what he is pointing out, realizing he wants the Tesseract
"Oh no, I don't think so." Joy says
"I wasn't asking." Torp explains
"Too bad, we aren't giving it to you." Joy explains
"That's a shame, I guess I'll just have to take it from you." Torp explains
Torp picks up his scepter, Joy and Sly begin to fire their guns at Torp, discovering that they just bounce off him
Torp fires energy blasts from his scepter at Joy and Sly, they hide behind the Tesseract
Joy quickly grabs the Tesseract and puts it in a nearby briefcase
A piece of the ceiling falls next to them, Joy and Sly looks up and realize the building is beginning to collapse
"Oh fuck.." Joy says
Joy looks around the corner and sees Torp approaching, she decides to run before the building collapses
"Let's go before the building goes down.." Joy says
Sly nods
Joy, Sly and Dip run for the exit being fired upon by Torp
Torp fires one last shot at Joy, striking her, causing her to fall over, tripping over Dip and dropping the briefcase
Torp catches up with them and takes the briefcase
Joy stands back up and fires one last shot at Torp, but still it bounces off
Realizing she can't take on Torp, she decides to give up and flee before the building collapses, leaving the Tesseract in Torp's hands.
Dip tries to crawl towards the exit
"Please.. let me live.." Dip pleads
Torp walks over to Dip
"Look at me." Torp demands
Dip continues trying to crawl to the exit
Torp grabs Dip by the hair, pulling him up
"Stand up." Torp demands
Torp drops Dip, causing him to fall on his face
Dip stands up, and gets cornered by Torp
Torp touches Dip's chest with his scepter, causing Dip's eye to turn blue for a moment, before turning back to normal, now under Torp's control
Joy and Sly quickly rush inside the helicopter, the pilot starts to take off as the building begins to collapse as Torp and Dip leave
A guard is rushing outside but notices Torp and Dip, shooting multiple rounds at Torp, who simply walks over and gets him under his control
They rush over to a nearby truck, Torp hops in the back while Dip gets in the front, along with the guard driving
They follow Joy and Sly's helicopter, Torp begins to fire energy blasts at it
"Fuck! We need backup at the Tesseract facility!" Joy yells into a radio
At that moment, Torp manages to land a shot on the rotor, and the helicopter goes down, Joy and Sly leap out right before the helicopter crashes into the ground
Joy and Sly get up, as they watch Torp and Dip drive off into the distance
"Oh no.." Joy says
"Joy.." Sly says
"What do we do?" Sly asks
Joy reaches for her radio
"We are at war.." Joy explains
"Activate the Boltvenger Initiative." Joy asks
-PRESENT DAY-
"So.. we're looking for a blue cube that was stolen from a god?" Plane asks
"Yes." Joy responds
"Oh, wow, alright then." Quartz says
"You all still want to be a part of the team?" Joy asks
"Yeah." Plane says
"Of course." Prox says
"Yep." Johnny says
"Well, I mean I'm here so I might as well." Quartz says
"Great, I'll be back soon, I need to check on our possible fifth member." Joy explains, leaving the room
