Chapter 6 - Meet The Parents…
M7***M7***M7***M7***M7***M7***M7
Ezra stared out the window of the van as Rebecca drove back to her ranch home. He took no notice of anything as it rolled down the freeway. His thoughts were consumed with replaying the last couple of hours over in his mind.
Gypsy Moon's practice had been an eye opening experience for him. Rebecca's world proved to be so much more complicated, wondrous and magical than he had ever anticipated. Even though Rebecca had them sit in the back of the arena for their hearings sake, the band's preparation for the coming show made him begin to wonder why his wife chose to stay with him, never attempting to find a way back to her world.
This future, her life here, provided opportunities that were beyond anything he could ever have offered her. She was rich, famous, she had money, prestige, could go anywhere, do anything, have whatever she wanted and yet...
He had always considered himself an inventive sort of man, able to conjure up imaginative and believable personalities in the blink of an eye if the need arose, but he knew he would never be able to compete with this world.
As he continued to mull over all these thoughts, Rebecca slid a CD into the van's stereo system as music began to fill the interior of the van. Still feeling high from how the rehearsal went, she, Sarah and Emily began to sing. The three women became very animated as he turned in his seat to watch. Buck and Vin also became intrigued especially as they began to harmonize with each other…
Asked a girl what she wanted to be
She said, "Baby, can't you see?
I wanna be famous, a star of the screen"
But you can do something in between
Baby, you can drive my car
Yes, I'm gonna be a star
Baby, you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you
I told that girl that my prospects were good
And she said, "Baby, it's understood
Working for peanuts is all very fine
But I can show you a better time"
Baby, you can drive my car
Yes, I'm gonna be a star
Baby, you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you
Beep-beep, beep-beep, yeah
Rebecca and Sarah began to harmonize on the next set of lyrics, their voices melding seamlessly with each other. As they continued to sing, Emily joined in with the sisters, their voices intertwining. He had to admit the three of them together was outstanding.
Baby, you can drive my car
Yes, I'm gonna be a star
Baby, you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you
I told that girl I can start right away
When she said, "Listen, babe, I got somethin' to say
I got no car and it's breaking my heart
But I've found a driver and that's a start"
Baby, you can drive my car
Yes, I'm gonna be a star
Baby, you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you"
Beep-beep, beep-beep, yeah
Beep-beep, beep-beep, yeah
Beep-beep, beep-beep, yeah
Beep-beep, beep-beep, yeah
As the song ended, Ezra noticed that Vin seemed to have been watching Sarah with a somewhat wistful expression on his face. He wondered if he was also beginning to have his own thoughts about what he could offer his wife.
Another song came on and Becca, Sarah and Emily launched straight into it. The style of this piece was very different, but the three women had no trouble singing it. This one also had harmonies that they could wrap their voices around as they sang…
We must have been stone crazy
When we thought we were just friends
'Cause I miss you, baby
And I've got those feelings again
I guess I'm all confused about you
I feel so in love
Oh, baby, what can I do?
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you,
shi-pow-pow
Suddenly we're strangers
I watch you walking away
He was my one temptation
Oh, I did not want him to stay
Deep down, I'm still confused about you
I feel so in love
Oh, baby, what can I do?
I've been thinking about you
I've been thinking about you…
Vin leaned over the seat next to Ezra's right ear asking, "Were they singing shi-pow-pow?"
"I believe they were."
"What language is that?"
He turned toward his friend shrugging. "I have to admit this song has me exceedingly baffled…never heard that language before."
For the rest of the drive home, the van was filled with more music that Ezra, Vin and Buck recognized from the saloon… others they didn't know what to make of the lyrics.
Driving through the gate and down the drive, Rebecca pulled up in front of the house. "We are home everyone."
As Rebecca got out of the van locking the door, Ezra came over. "That was some interesting music choices you were singing to darlin."
"Did you like 'em?"
"Well yes, but I did find some of your song stylings…intriguing."
"So what did you think of the band's practice?" she asked brushing her auburn hair over a shoulder.
Ezra leaned against the van. "I recognized some of the songs…ones that you and Sarah had previously performed in the saloon…your executions of them here were somewhat different, others that you performed, I of course did not recognize so I haven't formed an opinion as of yet. It's possible it may take me some time to become acclimated to the music styles of this century."
Rebecca pursed her lips as she thought about what he said. "So you didn't like some of the music?"
"I didn't say that darlin…I just meant I may need time to understand it."
Standing up, he started to reiterate his feeling, but Rebecca put a finger to his lips. "It's alright…," she said softly, "the music of this time is completely different from yours…you don't have to explain." Leaning into her husband, she kissed him as he opened his mouth for her searching tongue.
Pushing her body against his, she could feel him responding to her. "Oh Ezra…I can feel you against my leg…would you like to go …" she didn't finish her sentence, but instead pointed toward the house.
He looked into her eyes, shaking his head. "I know you can't yet darlin," he whispered. "I don't wish to cause you any injury…you need time to heal."
Stepping back, he took a deep breath. "I shall be inside momentarily…I just need to briefly take a walk and perhaps take care of myself."
Rebecca instead came forward. "If you're having a problem sweetie…let me help you." She put her hands on his crotch, massaging him.
Leaning back against the van again, he moaned a bit. "Ohhh darlin…"
Taking his hand, she led him around to the opposite side, sliding open the door telling him to lie down across the back seat. As he did so, she undid his trousers pulling them down. His breathing increased as he watched her pull his stiffing member out into the open. She slowly stroked and caressed him making his moans fill the air.
Beginning to twist and turn, Ezra lifted up his body as she moved one hand up and down his aroused member. He began to pant hard, lifting himself up and down as she gently kissed the tip of his erection. Taking her tongue, she proceeded up one side and down the other making him stiffen even more. He almost couldn't take her teasing as she finally took his full length into her mouth. She pulled hard on his shaft moving in and out giving him a slight nibble now and again.
"Oh Dear God!" he gasped as she swirled her tongue around the very tip. The sounds he was making caused her to lift up her eyes to look at him. His were shut tight; his mouth hung slightly open, panting rapidly as if he had lost all sensibility.
He couldn't stop squirming as he pushed past her lips. His hot breath blew raggedly over her face as she continued her ministrations. He had become rock hard.
"I'm so close darlin…," he groaned as Rebecca continued to push back and forth along his engorged length. He lifted up her t-shirt grabbing both of her breast massaging them, running his hands over her body.
Rebecca began to moan too as he moved his hands across and over her large, milk-filled breasts.
As she quickened her movements, rocking his shaft in and out of her mouth, his long, low growls made her realize he was indeed almost there…his release would be at any time.
Grabbing his own crotch, he helped her along as he grunted, searching for some kind of relief. Finally, pounding on the van seat, he felt himself erupt with an unbelievable climax. He continued to smack the seat, breathing hard and fast as he pumped quickly toward his finish. He couldn't move…couldn't speak…couldn't move his body for some time.
Rebecca stepped outside the van taking a second to straighten her clothing before coming back inside. Looking around inside the glovebox, she located a small packet of tissues. He had managed to make a mess as she gently cleaned off his torso.
Looking at her husband, she realized he was still breathing hard. Touching his face, she said softly, "Are you alright, my love?"
Finally as his eyelids fluttered open, he whispered, "Right now… I feel fantastc...absolutely incredible." as he slowly sat up pulling himself back together.
"I'm glad I was able to help."
Stepping out of the van, Ezra finished fastening his trousers before taking her into his arms pulling her close. The two of them held each other until he lifted her face to his. "I love you so much my darlin girl."
She smiled kissing him softly on the lips. "I love you too. Are you ready to go inside with the others?"
Nodding, he ran his hands through her auburn hair. "Yes…let's go."
Walking toward the door, the sound of laughter could be heard from inside. Looking at each other wondering what was going on, Rebecca and Ezra walked down the hall toward the living room.
Sarah turned when she heard her sister approaching. "Where have you two been…was there a problem?"
Blushing slightly, she said, "We…I mean I…needed to take care of something."
Lifting her eyebrows, she asked, "Has it been handled?"
Nodding, Rebecca said, "All handled…no more problem."
Ezra felt his own face get hot looking in the opposite direction.
Clearing her throat, Rebecca asked, "What's going on?"
"Well," Sarah said pointing into the room, "Emily introduced Buck to TV last night so he decided to show it to Vin and Chris. Currently, there is a Clint Eastwood Western on one of the channels and they are having a conversation about it."
Rebecca began to laugh at the thought.
Sarah folded her arms leaning against the doorframe. "My loving husband is commenting on the types of guns, the horses, their clothes and a host of other things. He has also offered many opinions about the people involved. So far, Chris hasn't added anything to the commentary, but I'm sure he will."
Ezra raised a questioning eyebrow. "Clint Eastwood Western?"
Rebecca rolled her eyes somewhat. "I'll explain who he is later…come on."
Entering the room, Buck pointed his finger at the screen saying, "Hey Chris…you know that fella kinda dresses like you. Lookie at that serape he's wearing."
Emily, Mary and Billy couldn't keep from laughing as Chris frowned slightly, but didn't comment further.
Buck looked up from his prone position on the floor not sure why everyone was laughing. "What's so dang funny about what I said?"
Emily sat down on the floor next to the ladies' man grinning at him. "We aren't really laughing at you Buck, it's just well…ya'll are real cowboys and…"
Sitting up immediately, he turned toward Emily holding up his hand to stop her. "Um darlin…for your own sake, don't ever call Chris a cowboy. See, he really hates that word and has been known to pick a fight with anyone calling him that."
Puzzled, she asked, "Why would that word upset him? I mean that's what ya'll are…right?"
"Well…Chris has always been a tad funny about anyone calling him that…so best you don't."
Not sure she understood, she decided to drop the conversation.
Vin had been sitting quietly during Buck's exchange, intently watching the movie on the screen. Sarah sat down on the floor next to her husband. Noticing how closely he was observing everything, she leaned over asking, "Are you enjoying the movie sweetie?"
"Movie?" he replied never taking his eyes from the television.
"Yes…the movie…what you are watching currently on the TV. Are you enjoying it?"
Briefly glancing away before returning to the set, he said, "That fella, the one in black…he's someone bad and the other one needs to watch out fer him."
Covering her mouth to hide her grin, she nodded. "I'm sure he will sweetie."
"What is it ya'll called this thing again…television?"
"That's right."
"It sure is a wonder."
"I guess it is" Sarah replied. She gazed back at Vin, looking at the movie and television through his eyes. Her world must seem incredible and a mysterious place all at the same time.
Placing her head on his shoulder, Sarah wrapped one arm around him as Vin continued to stare at the screen in front of him.

Rebecca opened the bedroom door going straight to Laura's crib taking the baby into her arms. Sitting down in the rocker next to it, she began humming softly to her daughter. Mary had mentioned that the baby could be ready for her next feeding. As she rocked her, Laura began to cry a little. She continued to rock back and forth hoping to sooth her. Finally, she lifted her t-shirt letting her daughter attach and begin to nurse.
Ezra smiled watching Rebecca feed their daughter as he sat down on the bed. Taking off his boots, he then unbuttoned his shirt, removing it along with his vest. He closed his eyes giving a low sigh.
Looking over at her husband, she asked, "Are you feeling alright?"
"I'm just feelin somewhat tired after our intimacy darlin. Don't worry too much. A good night's sleep will certainly help."
Standing up, Rebecca burped Laura before placing her back into her crib. Coming over to sit next to him on the bed, she caressed his cheek.
"Would you like me to bring you something to eat?"
He smiled softly. "Perhaps in a bit darlin. I think for now I may wish to close my eyes and rest."
Lying down on the bed, Ezra took her into his arms as she snuggled next to him. Stoking her hair, he whispered, "I love you my darlin girl."

Ezra opened his eyes giving a large yawn. Turning over in bed, he realized Rebecca's t-shirt and jeans had been tossed across her side of the bed. Sitting up, he stretched putting his feet on the floor. He noticed he was wearing just his soft underwear. Rebecca must have removed his trousers after he passed out.
Putting on the soft robe she had given him, he approached the crib noticing their daughter was also missing. Going into the bathroom he attended to some basics necessities before leaving their room for the kitchen.
As he started to enter, he thought he heard Sarah and Rebecca talking in the music room. Approaching, he saw his wife holding their daughter against one shoulder as she talked with someone on her telephone.
"We can't wait to see you guys too…"
"Yes our concert is still on for Saturday night…"
"Well it's the first one since Laura was born…uh huh…we can't wait for you to meet them too."
"We love you! See you later tonight….bye."
Leaning just inside the door, he asked, "You are expected someone to arrive tonight Becca?"
Turning in his direction, she gave him a huge smile. "I'm so excited…our parents are flying in late tonight from North Carolina. They wanted to come to the show…and to meet you and Vin for the first time. They were stunned when we told them ya'll had found your way here…and of course they wanted to visit with the grandkids too."
At that moment, Vin walked into the music room carrying Rachel. "We heard some loud talkin from the kitchen…wondered what was goin on."
"Oh sweetie…my Mom and Dad are arriving tonight from North Carolina. I can't wait for you to meet them."
Tilting his head, he said, "So they are flying in tonight on what you call an airplane -how long does it take?"
"Well not long at all from North Carolina…maybe about three and half hours as long as they don't have to make any stops."
Rebecca turned to her sister. "You know…we need to get everyone up and dressed. Before Mom and Dad arrive, we need to take the boys out on a shopping trip to get them some new clothes. Some that won't cause a lot of attention as they go out in public."
Sarah nodded. "Yeah, we should. There's a Western wear store not far from here, which would work out great. If that place doesn't work out there are plenty of places to shop."
Rebecca nodded. "Ohhhh…I know that place…it would be a wonderful place to take them. We can purchase them western wear with a decidedly modern touch."
Sarah agreed. "Let's get a move on and hit the road."
M7***M7***M7***M7***M7***M7***M7
It took their group a few hours, going to three different Western wear stores to find what all four men wanted. Parts of the trip had almost turned into a comedy as the women tried to search for clothing to meet their needs and they made differing comments about the clothes available.
Vin turned out to be the easiest person to shop for while Ezra was much more fussy over his haberdashery needs. Finally, all the purchases were made and everyone piled back into the van and Emily's small car making their way home.
Rebecca and Sarah began to discuss the arrival of their parents later in the evening. Both were excited to see them, but wondered what they would think of their husbands.
"Once we get home we can rest for a while, have dinner then go pick up Mom and Dad up from the airport." Rebecca commented as she pulled into the driveway.
"I can't wait for them to meet our guys."
Smiling, Rebecca agreed.
Glancing over at his wife, Ezra asked, "So what will your parents think of us?"
"They will love you of course…just as I do, just as Sarah does. I actually can't wait for them to see you in your brand new clothes…all of ya'll will look stunning."
He smiled at her. He had to admit he was slightly nervous about meeting them. Having grown up the way he had, having Maude for a mother, he knew from time to time his ways could be unethical…it became a struggle especially after joining the others to save the Seminole village. As time passed, his moral dilemmas grew…trying to do the right thing by his friends and by the people of Four Corners.
He had only met two women in his entire life that were honest, honorable, and treated him with respect. One he helped return to her family were she belonged…the other he married because she was the love of his life. Rebecca made it easy for him to resist his con-man ways and to be a better man. He hoped that her parents would see the good things in him that she did.
Exiting the van and walking around to her side, Rebecca wrapped one arm around his waist, placing her head on his shoulder as they walked toward the house.
He couldn't help kissing her cheek as he entered the front door.
M7***M7***M7***M7***M7***M7***M7
When the time arrived to go to the airport, Rebecca and Sarah agreed they would pick their Mom and Dad up first, giving them a brief explanation of how Ezra, Vin and the others were able to find their way to our time. It would also give them some alone time with their folks.
Waiting for them to arrive back home, Ezra sat down next to Vin turning to him saying, "Are feeling at all nervous about meeting their parents?"
Vin thought for a moment. "I 'spec I am a bit…mostly cause it's Sarah's folks. She told me not to worry so I trust her. What she has told me 'bout them makes me excited to meet them."
"Becca said the same and like you I implicitly believe her, but I am still feeling anxious."
"Well, I imagine they should be on their way back…guess it won't be long until we know what they do think of us.
Ezra nodded. Getting up, he decided to check on Laura, seeing how their daughter was fairing. Trying not to wake her, he quietly came over to the crib. Looking down he noticed her eyes were open making small noises as she stuck her tongue in and out of her mouth.
Smiling for a moment at his beautiful daughter, he lifted her from the crib sitting down next to it. Slowly he rocked her, her tiny hands curling against his chest. He hummed softly as both of them closed their eyes, relaxing to the soft creak of the chair.
He wasn't sure how long he had been this way when he heard Rebecca whisper, "Ezra, I'm home and my folks are here. I'll take the baby from you."
Opening his eyes, he looked up at his wife standing next to her. Behind her, near the bedroom door he noticed two older people standing just inside the room.
Blinking his eyes a couple of times, he placed their daughter into her arms as he stood up. "I fell asleep…I assume while rocking her."
From beside the door, Rebecca's father said, "I did that many a night when mine were little. It was a way to give my wife a break." Walking over he put out his hand. "You must be Ezra…I'm Jake Dannon, Rebecca and Sarah's father." Turning to the older woman that approached with him he added, "And this is my wife Laura."
Wetting his lips, he took her father's hand. "It is my great pleasure to meet you sir. I never thought I would ever have the opportunity to do so, but under these strange circumstances, I'm glad I have."
He gently took her Mom's hand, giving it a kiss. "It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance as well."
Smiling at her daughter from across the room, she said, "He is as exactly as you described him Becky."
Puzzled, Ezra turned to his wife as she gave him a soft smile. "They like you already sweetie."
Nodding, he turned back to her parents.
Just then, the baby began to cry a little. "Must be time for her next feeding. Why don't you take my folks back to the living room and I'll join you shortly."
He gave her and the baby a quick kiss before he left with Jake and Laura.
Rebecca sat down and began to nurse, smiling as she slowly rocked. The people she loved most in the world were all under one roof. One day she would make sure Ezra would meet her brothers as well, but until then…
This had been a good day…a very good day.
