Chapter 2

Years Ago in another world

Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy were in empty white space, and the three dragon slayers of Fairy Tail began to wake up.

"Uhh, what happened," Natsu sat up rubbing his head.

"Last thing I remember.." Gajeel rubbed his eyes.

"We were all fighting on Tenrou.." Wendy said.

It was then all their eyes widened "Acnologia," they said in unison.

"Where is he," Natsu looked around, it was then he noticed he and the other two dragon slayers were in a white space. His eyes widened further "And where the hell are we," he shouted.

"Where are the others?" Gajeel questioned.

"They are not here, Nats, Gajeel, Wendy." a voice Natsu knew too well.

Natsu Gajeel and Wendy looked up and saw three dragons and their eyes all widened.

"Igneel"

"Metallicana"

"Gradine,"

The dragon slayers were awed, their dragons, their parents appearing before them.

"It's been a while Natsu," Igneel said.

"Igneel," Natsu cried.

"Gradine," Wendy teared

"Wendy, you've grown," Gradine smiled.

"You've still got that nasty look in your eye," Metalicana simply said.

Gajeel grew a tick mark "Shut up you lizard," he yelled.

"What's going on, Igneel, where are we," Natsu asked.

"You can call this a void, we are in a place outside of space and time," Igneel answered.

"How did we get here," Wendy asked

"We summoned you all here, after your fight with Acnologia," Gradine said.

"What about our friends," Natsu asked.

"They are safe, look" Metalicana revealed

The dragons showed the dragon slayers that all the Fairy Mages on Tenrou were all sleeping in a sphere of some kind. All of them signed in relief seeing that they were all safe.

"Okay so why did you call us here, and second where the hell has you guys been this whole time," Natsu asked.

"Your second question we will answer in due time, as for why we called you here, it is that the world is in danger," Igneel said, and the dragon slayers' eyes widened.

"What do you mean this world is in danger," Wendy trembled.

"Not this world, necessarily but for another," Gradine told them.

"You mean Edolas," Gajeel raised an eyebrow.

"No," Metalicana said."Another where magic itself does not necessarily exist,"

"I don't understand," Natsu said.

"Maybe this will help," Gradine smiled and the sky dragon then cast a spell and some kind of energy was being transferred into Natsu's, Gajeel's, and Wendy's head.

"What happened?" Wendy asked. "What did you do mom?"

"I've transferred all the knowledge you would need to know about this world, its history, and its culture,"

"I see that makes things easier," Natsu grinned.

"In this world, people are born with what they call quirks or superpowers, think of it as someone having their own unique magic, and people use these powers to become heroes" Igneel explained "in this world, a great darkness will emerge,"

"And you want us to save it," Natsu asked.

"Not necessarily, we want you to help the person who will save it," Igneel said.

"What?" Natsu raised an eyebrow "And that's who,"

"We don't have to answer for that," Gradine said.

"So we want us to help some chosen one and you can't tell us who it is," Gajeel said.

"You will know who it is in due time, We're sending you three there, because it will help you all grow, for now we must go," Igneel told them.

It was then there was a bright flash of light, and the next thing the dragon slayers knew they were all in some house.

"What the? Where are we now?" Gajeel shouted he looked around and saw the three dragon slayers were in some kind of house, but it looked a bit different than a house they've seen before.

"What the hell is this? Someone's house?" Natsu said and he then took notice of their attire "And what are we wearing?"

The three noticed they were not wearing their normal clothes, they were all wearing some kind of uniform both Gajeel, and Natsu's clothes were matching while Wendy had some kind of sailor outfit with a black skirt.

"I know but they looked kind of cute" Wendy blushed and it was then she saw Natsu and Gajeel were staring at her "What" she blushed.

"Wendy is that you?" Natsu asked.

"Yes it's me Natsu-niisan you don't recognize me," Wendy said, she looked to her side and saw a mirror, and she saw herself but a bit older she looked close to Natsu's and Gajeel's age. "Eh what happened to me?"

"We aged you up a year or two to make you closer to Natsu and Gajeel, so you three can be together in school," a male voice said.

"Who the hell are you" they all shouted.

"It's me, Natsu, Igneel, this is just my human form," Igneel smiled.

"Your human form, so transformation magic," Natsu asked and Igneel nodded.

"Yes, Natsu, and /wendy we must apologize for aging you up so suddenly, if you stayed your current age you would've been separated from Natsu and Gajeel," Igneel told the sky dragon slayer

"I understand, Where are we," Wendy asked.

"Are we in the world you told us about?" Gajeel asked and Igneel nodded yes.

"Yes, you three are and what you are wearing is considered normal for students who go to schoolwear, a school uniform," Igneel said. "And you're going to have wear these when you go to school, and you should all know due to Gradine spell, but we are in a country called Japan and you are all living in a house in Mustafa"

Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy nodded at this instantly knowing the information because of the Sky Dragon's spell. Igneel then took out some papers, "Here, we managed to make you three official documents of this world, you three are fresh middle school graduates and will be applying for UA High's hero course, your entrance exam is in about a month. And you will all be living this house,"

"You're not staying with us," Natsu asked to sadden.

Igneel shook his head "I'm sorry, me, Metalicana, and Gradine cannot stay here for various reasons,"

"I see," Wendy said, saddened that she won't see her mother again.

"Don't be sad, we'll always be with all of you, for now, you need to prepare for the UA Entrance exam," Igneel told them.

"UA high?" Natsu raised an eyebrow.

"It's the school you will all be attending. It is the top hero school in all of Japan," Igneel explained "Gradine already gave you three the basics of this world, but it is best you still study, I wish the three of you the best of luck,"

"Thank you Igneel you can count on us," Natsu said with determination and the other two nodded "We will help this world,"

Igneel smiled "Then I'll leave it all to you," he then vanished.

Once Igneel vanished, Wendy went up to one of the books Igneel left, "Well I guess we better study," she smiled. Both Natsu and Gajeel nodded and they all opened a book but did not know the language that was written.

"What is this?" Natsu questioned.

"I don't know what this is," Gajeel squinted.

"It must be this world's language, Wendy said, "But you can understand it right,"

Natsu nodded "Thanks to Gradine's spell I can understand this,"

"Enough talk let's get to work,"

The three learned a lot from the readings and videos they watched, the history of heroes, and the culture surrounding them. They learned how each piece of technology and luckily the dragons left them cellphones to use, as there is no communication lacrima in this world. In this world, it seems technology evolved more than things such as magic.

1 Month Later Entrance Exam

Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy arrived at the testing location they were assigned for the UA entrance exam. They all managed to pass the written exam, even though all three struggled a bit.

"So this is where we will be tested," Natsu said looking at the gate.

"Seems like it, a lot more people here," Gajeel eyed the large group of other students.

"They must be determined to get in," Wendy said.

As the three were waiting for the exam to start someone has been bumped into Natsu. Natsu looked and saw that it was a blonde man with a simple face and he was dressed in normal exercise attire.

"Oops, sorry," the man said, smiling and rubbing the back of his hand.

"It's alright," Natsu smiled back "You taking the exam to,"

The man gave a wide smile "You bet I am," he gave a thumbs up. "My name is Togata Mirio, and I'm going to be hero"

"Natsu Dragneel," Natsu introduced "Cool, then I wish you the best of luck,"

"And to you as well, I'm sure we're all going to pass," Mirio said encouragely.

"Mirio, the exam is about to start," someone called out.

"Sorry Tamaki, I'm coming, well guess it's about to start let's go," Mirio said as he ran back to Tamaki.

"What a weird guy." Natsu raised an eyebrow.

"He's very optimistic," Wendy smiled.

"We should get ready the gate is about to open," Gajeel said and the two nodded.

The announcer then announced the test will begin and the three dragon slayers ran forward prepared to pass. They were told they will get points based on how many robots they destroyed and how many people they saved. Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy destroyed as many robots as they could, earning a lot of points.

Natsu took Mirio who was nearby and noticed that he was shirtless and trying to puts his pants "What the hell,"

"Salamander above you," Gajeel shouted.

Natsu looked up and saw that a robot was about to attack him, but Natsu managed to destroy it in time. "Damn that was close,"

"Don't get distracted to easily," Gajeel told him.

"Are you okay Natsu-san," Wendy asked and Natsu nodded.

"I'm fine, sorry lets keep going," Natsu said and they agreed.

After some time the entrance exam finished, Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy went home exhausted.

"That was pretty tough," Wendy sweated.

"Yeah so many robots," Natsu said.

"Well at least I got a meal out of it," Gajeel said, chomping a robot arm he took. "We pretty much passed anyway," Natsu and Wendy agreed even though they will get their results in about a week. Their theory was proven correct and they all got into UA's hero course and will be starting school soon.

First Day at UA

"Seriously do we have to wear these," Natsu complained, pulling parts of his uniform.

"It's in the rule book Natsu-san we have to wear school uniforms," Wendy told him "But they are pretty cute,"

"Seriously I hate this," Gajeel grumbled looking at himself.

The three entered the large school building and located their class 1-B, and once Natsu said a familiar face.

"Hey you're in this class too," Mirio smiled seeing Natsu. "Guess we'll be studying together,"

"Mirio," Natsu said."Good to see you, glad you passed as well, oh /i didn't introduce you to my friends at entrance exam yet, this is Gajeel and Wendy,"

"Sup," Gajeel simply said.

"Nice to meet you," Wendy smiled.

Mirio raised his arm and smiled "Hiya I'm Togata Mirio," He then picked up the gloomy guy he was talking to "And this is my friend Tamaki Amajiki,"

"Miiio, please don't do this," Tamaki said shyly.

"Oh hey you guys know each other already that's not fair," a female voice said, they all turned and saw a female with long periwinkle hair pouting.

"Oh you must be another one of our classmates I'm Mirio and this Tamaki," Mirio said and Tamaki still had a shy look.

"Natsu," Natsu said.

"Gajeel," Gajeel scoffed.

"I'm Wendy," Wendy introduced kindly.

"I'm Hado Nejire," Hado said and she looked at Natsu "Hey whys your hair pink,"

Natsu was shocked and Gajeel was snickering, and Natsu grew a tick mark "ITS NOT PINK! ITS SALMON!" he yelled at her, and Mirio, Gajeel, and Hado laughed.

Natsu glared at Gajeel "What you want to go," he challenged the iron dragon for mocking him.

"Yeah what if I do pinky," he openly mocked, it was then Natsu jumped on Gajeel and the two began to fight and the other students sweatdropped at this. Wendy was embarrassed, Mirio and Hado were smiling and laughing. While Tamaki just tried not to get the two were fighting the teacher walked and saw the two and he glared.

"WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING!" the man dressed in a red costume yelled.

"Eh!," Natsu and Gajeel looked up.

"No fighting on the first day," he said, he threw the two into their seats.

"Now I will be your teacher for this year, I am the Blood Hero: Vlad King, you will refer to me as Vlad-sensei understand," Vlad introduced.

"Nice to meet you Vlad-sensei," the class bowed.

"Now starting today you will train to become heroes," Vlad said and the class nodded.

"Now Let's begin class,"

Apologies for this chapter seeming rushed but most chapters may seem like that, as I want to get to the Shie Hassakai as soon as possible. The point of these prequel chapters is to show the relationship and growth of the dragon slayers and the Big Three. Arcs I will be doing will be Sports Fest, Internship, and Pro License. Sports Fest might be a short one, as I already revealed kind of what happens in the first chapter but I'm still going to write it.
