1. Gallant Char
After a few minutes of patrolling outside the docks, both Rose and Amuro were beginning to get impatient, Amuro was fidgeting with the controls before finally snapping.
"Where are they?!" Amuro asked anxiously,
"Calm down." Rose ordered, "Panicking won't help anyone. Just keep an eye out and-"
Without warning, a spark of electricity struck Rose's forehead.
"Speak of the devil…! Get out of the way!" Rose shouted, Amuro yelped in surprise right as two bazooka shots soared past where he had been seconds prior.
Immediately, Rose turned towards the red Zaku that was rapidly approaching, with two slower mobile suits behind it, and fired its 60mm Vulcan guns at it. In response, Amuro fired several shots from his beam rifle.
On the bridge of the White Base, Oscar leaned over their sensor systems as they finally picked up multiple contacts on their radar.
"Multiple enemy mobile suits! One is moving at least three times faster than the others!" He shouted,
"Three times…!" Bright thought to himself in shock, "Move the White Base out of port, we don't want to be stuck in here if they have bazookas."
"Yes sir!" Mirai stated,
1. Char rapidly adjusted his controls, dodging Vulcan gunfire and beam shots from the Golden Gundam and RX-78-2 Gundam.
"The Golden Valkyrie hm?" Char analyzed, pulling out his 120mm machine gun, he proceeded to fire off a spray of gunfire, forcing the Golden Gundam to dodge.
Immediately, the Gundam rushed forward, beam saber out, immediately, Char drew his Heat Hawk and blocked the strike, the I-fields clashed, creating lightning-like sparks of electricity between them.
"Amuro!" Rose shouted, backing away, and immediately after, Amuro fired off two shots at the beam rifle.
Char looked on impassively, "Is that all - Gundams?!" With that, Char proceeded to once again draw his 280mm bazooka, firing off multiple shots at both the Golden Gundam and RX-78-2, forcing them back.
Amuro yelped as several shots detonated around his Gundam. Despite having his shield raised, the force of the explosions still rocked the Gundam.
"Gah~!" He screamed from his cockpit.
"Too slow!" Char shouted, bursting out of the purplish smoke cloud and proceeding to punch him straight in the cockpit throwing him back against the colony wall.
"You won't get any further - Red Comet!" Rose shouted, firing her Vulcan guns rapidly, she closed the distance with multiple beam shots before pulling out her work arm with the beam saber. She proceeded to thrust it towards his cockpit.
In response, Char moved his heat hawk to parry the beam blade upward, leaving them deadlocked.
"Get away from me!" Rose shouted in frustration, kicking upwards at the Zaku with her Gundam's shin forcing Char back.
"Rose-san? Who is this guy?!" Amuro said, firing two shots from his beam rifle before Char quickly ducked under the colony to evade.
"He's the Red Comet of Zeon, a deadly ace responsible for destroying five battleships at the Battle of Loum. And a persistent thorn in my side!" Rose spat out, transforming the Golden Gundam into fighter mode and pushing the throttles forward in pursuit of the Red Comet.
As she did that, she began to rapidly tap on her controls, "Target locked! Open fire!" Rose shouted as multiple missiles erupted from her missile pods.
In response, Char rapidly weaved through the missiles, dodging each one as they exploded with a purplish light.
"My bazooka is out…" Char noted, discarding his 280mm bazooka and switching to the 120mm rifle in one hand and heat hawk with the other.
He then suddenly jerked around, firing several 120mm shots which Rose banked a hard right in order to dodge, allowing Char to close the gap and move to slash at its nose with his heat hawk.
Right then, Rose quickly transformed into its MS form under him, grabbing the heat hawk with a work arm and firing her beam rifle directly into it, causing it to explode in its grasp.
"Tch!" Char noted, slamming his 120mm down on the Gundams head, he proceeded to punch the Gundam away as Rose's head briefly hit the back of her seat, causing her eyes to lose focus briefly.
"Rose-san!" Amuro rushed forward, firing his beam rifle as Char steadily pulled back.
"Don't follow it, Amuro!" Rose called out, but it was too late, Char easily maneuvered around the beams before proceeding to straight kick the Gundam right in the cockpit, sending it into a free spin.
Amuro let out a scream of pain and terror as Char leveled his 120mm gun at the Gundam, firing it freely across the Gundams body.
"Its armor is tough…!" Char stated, discarding the now empty mag, but as he tried reloading, the 120mm suddenly exploded in his hand as a beam pierced straight through it.
Amuro had managed to fire off a lucky shot, piercing the machine gun and forcing Char to pull backwards.
"Commander Char!" Ricardo in his Zaku II fired at the Gundam, which blocked his shots with the Luna Titanium shield.
"Andy, Ricardo, let's pull back for now." Char ordered,
"Right." Ricardo and Andy followed Char back to the Falmel.
Rose breathed a heavy sigh of relief as the mobile suits pulled back. "Amuro, lets head back to the White Base."
"We're not going after them…?" Amuro asked, and Rose shook her head.
"We're both nearly out of weapons. I don't want to tempt fate any further." Rose stated. 1x
SCV-70 White Base
Amuro brought the RX-78-2 in for a landing on the White Base's mobile suit deck, with Rose following behind him shortly after in her own RX-78-T1 into the hangar.
As the hangar doors closed behind him, Rose sighed, moving over to Amuro who was just stumbling out of the Gundam.
"You did good out there." Rose proceeded to help him out of the Gundam. "But learn to follow orders more, we're lucky he wasn't better equipped."
"T-thank you, ma'am." Amuro nodded,
"His behavior is hardly one you should be endorsing." Bright admonished, "Besides, he barely managed to survive his encounter with the Red Comet."
"Always a wet blanket, Bright." Rose sighed exasperatedly,
"Someone has to be a voice of reason." Bright shot back offhandedly,
"You forget I'm your superior now." Rose huffed,
At that, Bright simply rolled his eyes. "Then as the commanding officer, it's up to you to decide what we should do next."
"Alright. Right now, we're stuck at Side 7. The obvious choice would be to head to Luna II, we can drop the refugees there, get the injured treated, and probably get some replacement crew." Rose explained on the ship.
"What about that enemy ship?" Bright asked, "If it really is the Red Comet, then that means the Zeon Devils is in the area in some capacity."
"Zeon Devils?" Amuro questioned, floating onto the bridge, now dressed in one of Rose's spare golden uniforms.
"The designation for a Zeon special forces unit." Rose said offhandedly, "Consists of some of the best aces they have."
"All of them are like the Red Comet…?!" Amuro said, and Rose shrugged.
"More or less." Rose said, "And I don't want to engage them with one ship and a motley crew of untrained pilots and crew."
"I see. But what if they come after us?" Captain Cassius asked,
"We have some time, the Red Comet was alone. Meaning that this probably wasn't an organized attempt to engage us. They're likely going to regroup, I plan to use that time to get to Luna II and get an actual crew." Rose stated, before quickly adding: "No offense."
"None taken." Mirai replied, followed by nods from several other refugee-crew members.
"Alright, with all of us in agreement - we set sail immediately!"
Papua-Class
"This is a bit much for a singular ship…" Supply Captain Gadem noted,
"Not just any ship captain," Char stated as he traversed through the Papua-Class. "It's carrying Gundams."
"Gundams…? So they're real?"
"As real as this ship, Captain. I wouldn't be here chasing specters." Char stated,
Gadem was about to respond, but as they rounded a corner, Marion, Zero, and Angelica encountered the duo and saluted.
"Our mobile suits have been moved onto the Falmel sir!" Angelica reported,
"Ah…I neglected to mention I picked up your reinforcements from the 300th as well." Gadem scratched his beard,
"Not too much trouble I hope." Char asked, and Gadem shook his head.
"No sir, as good as any other soldier."
"I'm glad to hear that." Char nodded,
"So what will you do now?" Gadem asked, and the light glinted off Char's mask as he gave a mischievous smile.
"Now? We go hunting."
